RE: Camera Raw and smart objects

Hello everyone.

I have a question please.

Inside of the 8.1 camera raw workflow options, I checked the box to open in Photoshop as smart objects.

I noticed inside the Camera Raw, open the Image box to turn to, the open object box.  I clicked open, and he opened the Image as objects inside Photoshop the Smart.

If I make changes to the Image, and if I Double click on the smart object, it will open in Camera Raw again which is good.

I also noticed that if I make changes to the Image inside the Raw to the dynamic object camera after clicking Open Smart Objects I see the changes inside the Photoshop too.

But if I make the changes to the Image inside the Photoshop, and later I Double click on the Image, the Image opens inside the Camera Raw, without modification.

Here's my question: still The Smart object Image is a Raw Image?

My next question is:

I don't know if I open a Raw Image Inside the Camera Raw and if I click on fact, the image is always a Raw Image, which is good, and if I click on Reset low, will reset back. If I change only the White Balance and click on go back the Camera Raw and I chose as shot, the Image goes back to the Original Raw file.

But if I do other changes such as exposure, any color change and click on I did can never return to the original...

Last month I was in collaboration with the Lightroom and I noticed if I open a raw image inside the Lightroom and modifications to make the Image, any time I can click on reset and the Raw image dates back to its origin.

I don't think that we can do this with Camera Raw can us?

Claire removes the settings in camera raw completely. You will not see the setting on the thumbnail icon in Bridge

By default Camera Raw will display the icon and double click on the thumbnail will always open in Camera Raw with the default settings.  The default value is "As Shot", that's why you see no difference. It is when you select a default Custom you want. He will stay with the Camera Raw file.

See this article by Julienne Kost.

http://blogs.Adobe.com/jkost/2009/10/setting_new_camera_raw_default.html

Another difference is with JPEGs. Open a JPEG in ACR, making an adjustment, click 'done '.  Select 'Default Camera Raw' and it will always open in ACR instead of Photoshop.  Select 'Clear' and it's a normal jpeg which is still open in Photoshop.

Basically it's all I know, I normally don't use ACR much.

When I try to open an CR2 file in Photoshop CS5, I get this message:

"Could not complete your request because the file appears to be a model of camera that is not taken care of by the installed version of Camera Raw.

Please visit the Camera Raw help documentation for more information. »

I found this strange because as my camera 500 d, he's happy to open the CR2 to a 5Dmkii and a 7 d files. But anyway...

I've been trying to install the Camera Raw update that supports the 60 d, but when I went to the Installer menu, it gave me this message:

"AdobePatchInstaller" is damaged and cannot be opened. You must eject the disk image.

I looked everywhere for a solution, but I can't find anything! I even downloaded the DNG Converter but the quality so bad I can also just change the jpg files. Is there anyway that I can get an update, so I can open my Raw files?

    Help, please!

Try to download Camera raw 6.7 again. Perhaps it was corrupted during the download.

Adobe - Adobe Camera Raw and DNG Converter: for Windows: Camera Raw 6.7 update

Adobe - Adobe Camera Raw and DNG Converter: for Macintosh: Camera Raw 6.7 update

And the DNG Converter does not reduce the quality of the file. The only thing I can think is that you checked use lossy compression in the preferences.

I don't know how it would affect the - never used it.

  • Why are my unsaturated when photographs open in Camera Raw and Photoshop?

    Hi all

I have problems with Camera Raw and Photoshop and I do not know how to proceed. My pictures are very different when it is open to these programs in comparison when open in Adobe Bridge and camera. Photoshop and Camera Raw change elements of photographs in a negative way (for me). I'll try to use a screen shot to illustrate.Untitled.jpg

The left image is seen in Bridge and on my camera and I want that image to look like more or less. Unfortunately, when open in Camera raw (figure on the right) the colors are very obviously different. How can I prevent that from happening. Hope that his and easy difficulty because I'm enough experianced by using this software.

    Thank you.

My best guess is that you're displaying overview integrated camera into Bridge. Check the grid icon in the toolbar and see if it is set to prefer embedded or high quality. Uses of quality high ACR to regenerate previews feature current development settings, or, if no parameters are applied, running by default.

Glimpses of the bridge are in fact of sRGB, and images with larger ranges tend to look breath.

I don't know how experienced you Raw/ACR, but it should be noted that embedded previews are based on settings in the camera control setting of the image, contrast, Saturation, etc.. Whereas previews ACR are based on ACR defaults (which you can modify to your taste), camera profile and development settings. ACR does not take into account most of the settings of your camera.

  • Why my raws look different when I view in Adobe Bridge/Adobe Camera Raw and digital P guns

    Hi all

I'm sorta new to take Raw photos and I have been using Adobe Bridge / Camera Raw to edit. When I take my photos (I use a Canon t2i) I set it to save a raw and jpg. When I find these images in Adobe Bridge / Camera Raw I notice a clear difference in the jpg and raw (I understand the concept behind raw vs jpg. If im not questioning why a different aspect) it is obvious all the adjustments that have been applied to my jpg. gross natural vs.  My question is: when I find the same two images in the software that came with my camera, professional digital photography canon, the canon and believed almost identical look... My hypothesis is that canon applies the same "adjustments" of my own as he did to jpg files?  Anyone using these two programs and noticed it work?

Thanks in advance for your help.

    Michelle

Canon software reads the camera in settings and those in the RAW file as the camera software, if applies so the RAW file should open looking like the JPG of the camera.  You can then make adjustments of this starting point.  Adobe and other third party software does not read all the camera in settings and apply instead a default set of conditions for the departure of starting point, which is why the initial image, you see when you open the RAW with Camera RAW file does not resemble the hearing in camera JPG.  Camera RAW's default camera profile is Adobe Standard, which is not the same as the profiles used by the camera.  Camera RAW has it for Canon 550 d camera profiles, which I believe is the same as the t2i.  Click on the camera Calibration tab in ACR (Adobe Camera RAW) and select the camera profile you selected in the camera (camera Standard, trusty camera, camera neutral, Protrait of camera or camera landscape) - all profiles listed are for the camera that took the photo.  This should give you a match much closer to what you get the camera if all other parameters of the camera are nominal values.  You can save a new default value of ACR and in future all images will be open initially using the new default values.

  • Open images in Camera RAW and still have masks paths?

    Hello

A big problem in Bridge is that I can't open my photos in Camera RAW and always have my paths to the left. I work in a place where we get a lot of pictures of products from many different companies and they almost always have a clipping in her path. Many of the pictures don't we have to fix as color, exhibition etc. and it is here bridge comes in as the best solution for batchfix them. But now I have to take the long way by Photoshop. Is there a solution for this?, an update of Adobe or a script or something.

    Good day!

Camera Raw has been designed first and foremost as a raw image processor... he 'can' open JPEG and TIFF files does change the fact that ACR is intended to the original files of cameras... not the images that have already been processed in Photoshop and then pedaled through the Camera Raw... Sorry, but that is a workflow is something ACR is designed to make and the chances of getting this support is somewhere between zero and no...

  • New in camera raw and have a basic question

    Hello

I have just started playing with camera raw and when I make the changes and say, I am able to open this image and continue with the corrections, which is great.

    but...

If I open an image that has been edited in camera raw, and I want to revert to the original and start again, how could I do?

    Thank you

    "babs

I don't know if you've made a small lack of hitting, but you don't want a "Reset Camera Raw default" - that affects all files opens (assuming that you have saved by default custom for your camera in the past).

You want to just check the Camera Raw default is near the top to influence the images selected entry only.

  • Develop Lightroom and raw Photoshop smart objects

I understand the function develop that Lightroom and Photoshop raw adjustments are the same.  So I adjust in one or.  I can then open the image as a smart object in photoshop. I can then perform other settings as an adjustment layer. I think it's the same as a function to develop Lightroom and Photoshop raw adjustments?  I understand the dynamic objects allows to edit not destructive and dynamic filters.

SO my questions are: when you would not open the image as a smart object? Surely that I should always open the image as a smart object?  If I want to make objects not allowed to smart edition as Clone Stamp I can then create a new layer and then apply the Clone Stamp to the layer, I can't?

Then, should I also convert all layers to smart layers or leave them as a normal layer.

Or third, I'm away from the track?

Check that the size of the file of this image saved under Camera Raw smart object... make sure that you ALWAYS want to use THE? Hope you have big hard disks...

Camera Raw Smart Objects are indeed useful especially when you want to melt renderings ACR 2 or more in a single file. But Smart Objects are a lot more limited than files regular pixel. Use them when it makes sense...
