  Sorry, but that is simply not possible.  Each computer doing something, if you're connected or not, each tick every millisecond it's on.  If you could freeze the process somehow, you would also freeze the processes and services that would allow you to access the network. Better, we advise to leave it alone, lock to prevent others from accessing and then do what you need to on the network.

• How to stop Vista Security Center 2011 to block access to the internet

  My sons laptop has been mess up since yesterday afternoon. There McAffee Antivirus, who has never been a problem, however, "Security Center Vista 2011' at random is appeared for the first time, automatically scanned the computer and reported 25 viruses.   Hi there, Ok vista security center 2011 is a virus. You need a better program Antimalware too to roll all this crapy virus!, I wrote this a month ago. You need too download malwarebyets you can find it here on this link http://www.malwarebytes.org/, download the free version, then you will see a desktop icon of this anti-malware program. You need also side click on it and run as administrator, then it will start up. Now DO a FULL system SCAN, not a quick analysis. It should take about 40mins or so. Now, you will see at least 4 bad Trojan and a virus. Now delete 'em, then after restart PC... Do the same thing again. After the scan is complete, and no virus found... System Restore to a point over 5 days. When we know that when the computer was working no probs then you done everything;), Post back on here to see how you are thereby. Thanks Dion.

  Close your office tasks bar, clock is a Citrix icon (it is black with white lines on it).  You can use it to access the connection Center and change to allow access to the place.  I have not worn hand on the computer on which I typing this, but if I remember right you would go to the option 'About' on this icon, then there will be a link to the advanced options and connection Center access.

  I agree with the previous poster. But if you have only a few of these 'social' sites, you could do with your current PIX w/o too much administrative burden.

  Use DNS (nslookup) to find the IP address of the sites you want blocked and create an ACL and apply to the inside interface. You'll be in charge yourself to ensure that you keep the ACL is updated.

  If you have a router Cisco IOS whereby all related Internet traffic transits, you can create a political and/or the route map map using nbar to match with a URL and everything just black hole / deny traffic.

  I have a new Mac, an old Mac, an old Windows machine and printer of Xante AW1200.

  Almost all of my work is done on the new Mac.  I get the old machine Mac or Windows of the drawer on rare occasions, or when I need to print something, because the new Mac cannot use the printer.  (Xante never taken the trouble to develop an OS X 10.6.4 driver for this printer.)

  I would like to get rid of the Windows machine.  I have it successfully migrated to a machine of comments on the new Mac, using vmware Fusion 3.1.3 but I have not found a way to get the computer to see the printer.

  This isn't a complete surprise, as Xante does not provide a driver for their (former) printer and (my new host) operating system OS X 10.6.4 - but they were planning a WIndows XP driver that has always worked well on the Windows machine, connected by the RS232 port.

  The printer also works very well on my old Mac, connected via ethernet.

  Can I connect the printer to the new Mac's ethernet port.  Of course, the Mac cannot work with it.  But could the guest computer use Windows sound driver to manage the printer?

  None of the four standard ways of printing seem applicable: ThinPrint because the host cannot use the printer.  USB because the printer is not a USB connector.  network / wireless because I do not have my old Mac running all the time.  Hello because I think that it requires that the host can see the printer.

  It certainly isn't a frequently asked Question.  Sorry, my situation is so unusual.  But the printer is special enough for the work that I do.  Any tips?

  If you have a router on your site then you should be able to connect the printer to the router, configure it as needed, and then accessing it in the comments as a network printer.  Note: The guest network should be configured as connected by a bridge to access in this way.

  Another option of network which is doable, but a little more difficult to set up, is to fix the printer directly on the Mac with a standard CAT5 Ethernet cable, not a Crossover as suggested in the Ethernet Port of Mac being automatic detection User Guide.  You would then manually configure the IP address, etc. on the printer and network bridged on the comments and even if Bridged his only access to the printer on this network adapter.  Then use a second network in the guest configured as NAT, if you do not also use Bridged on that, to enable the client to have access to other resources on the physical LAN to the host, such as Internet access, etc..
