Re: error 80070652 Windows update & 652
I found the suggestion for #80070652 but when I looked there are 2 elements with this number. Am I supposed to click on the item and then complete the process. I end the process on both of them. They say 2000 is another 7,000. I always get the error message 652. I understand that one of these updates is for security for 2007 microsoft office systems. I don't know if it of important or not. I think it is. I'm not that great with computers so if you could explain it I would be very grateful. Thanking you in advance. Kat
Hello Snooker1,
Thank you for using Microsoft Vista answers Forum!
Looks like you have been corresponding with someone else on this issue before now. I'm not too sure of that than anyone else, but if you can provide a brief explanation of what was happened, what you were trying to do, I can be able to help.
Meanwhile, here's what I can make out the error you posted; It seems that you can have several windows open when trying to install the server components and client for document libraries to SharePoint Portal Server 2003 backward compatibility. This problem may occur in situations where one or more programs are running on the server when you run the Setup program to install the libraries of documents in backward compatibility components, and the programs prevent the components for backward compatible document libraries to install correctly.
WORKAROUND
To avoid this problem, quit all programs that are running on the server before you run Setup to install the components for backward compatible document libraries.
If please reply and let us know if your problem is resolved or if you need more help

Code800F900 'unknown error in windows update' trying to download windows vista service pack 2
try to download windows vista service pack 2. Last update was on May 21, 2010. For a few weeks or months, the computer can be terribly slow. Often a hard drive rattle sound. For this, I tried anti-spyware, last week I installed and ran AdAware from lavasoft. It found nothing except two small cookies. A few weeks earlier, I had done the same thing using windows Defender. Also nothing. Along with a check disk hard I did not find much either. What end of the lifecycle for this computer, now about 3 years? He was one of the first available vista computers. Thank you for your help, Peter

OP: error code 652
I tried to update my windows vista several times now, I get an error code 652 and it seems that I can't fix it, help?
Hi arildo65,
Step 1:
Try to download and install the stand-alone package with updates from Microsoft Download center and check if you encounter the error.
Put the update number in the link below to find:
http://www.Microsoft.com/downloads/en/default.aspx
Step 2:You can also put the computer in a clean boot state, and then try to install the updates.
a. put your system in start mode state minimum helps determine if third-party applications or startup items are causing the problem. If so, you need to maybe contact the manufacturer of the program for updates or uninstall and reinstall the program.
b. refer to the KB Microsoft article below for more information on how to solve a problem by performing a clean boot in Windows Vista or Windows 7:

http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/929135Note: After a repair, be sure to set the computer to start as usual as mentioned in step 7 in the above article.
Step 3:
If the problem persists, you can try to reset windows update, and then check again.
Note: Run the fix it first. If this fails to run, then use the manual steps.

How to reset the Windows Update components?
[Access KB971058 via Internet Explorer (32-bit) only; Run the difficulty in DEFAULT and then AGGRESSIVE patterns, then restart & test]
http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/971058Full disclosure: the difficulty operating in AGGRESSIVE mode will remove your update history but not the list of installed updates.

(windows vista 64-bit) Error 80070424 Windows update
I recently purchased Office 2010, and when I went to install it, it looks like "error" and then cancel the installation. After reviewing the various things on my computer, I noticed that my windows update service was not working (I don't know how long this has been the case)It gives me just error 80070424 everytime I try to use it.I tried checking services, and everything worked...
When I checked these forums, I noticed that someone with a similar problem was invited to enter the following in the command line:
net stop wuauserv, and then press enter
regsvr32 c:\windows\system32\wuapi.dll, then press enter
regsvr32 c:\windows\system32\wuaueng.dll then press enter
regsvr32 c:\windows\system32\wucltux.dll, and then press enter
regsvr32 c:\windows\system32\wudriver.dll, and then press enter
regsvr32 wups2.dll then press enter
regsvr32 c:\windows\system32\wups.dll, then press enter
regsvr32 c:\windows\system32\wuwebv.dll, and then press enter
net start wuauserv, and then press enterWhen I tried, the following happened:
net stop wuauserv-success
regsvr32 c:\windows\system32\wuapi.dll - success
regsvr32 c:\windows\system32\wuaueng.dll - success
regsvr32 c:\windows\system32\wucltux.dll - success
regsvr32 c:\windows\system32\wudriver.dll - unsuccessful
regsvr32 wups2.dll - success
regsvr32 c:\windows\system32\wups.dll - success
regsvr32 c:\windows\system32\wuwebv.dll - success
net start wuauserv-successIf this is the problem, how should I do? (If not, what else can I try?)
(Also, if there is nothing to do with why I can't install office, please tell me)
