Re: from time to time my Satellite A300-20 has refuses to answer somehow

I have a question about a problem I experienced when using a Toshiba laptop brand new.

Recently (to be precise: 4 days ago) I bought a Toshiba brand new with Windows Vista Home Premium pre-installed. I have had no problems running Windows and the computer worked perfectly the first two days. But yesterday, as I opened my computer, hooked up and did not respond to the keyboard or the touchpad, so I had to make a stop 'tough '.

After about 4 hours, the same thing happened to me again once I was browsing through my files. And once again, as I just turned it today, the hung computer, even on the login screen and refused to answer somehow. I find it very odd that such a thing could happen to a whole new computer. I was not yet installed lots of software on it except for those 'standards' as Messenger, Skype, etc. of Irfanview. The only thing I can think is that I lived such behaviour, after that I started to perform Windows updates.

I tried cleaning and Defrag, but cleaning is not to remove a large part and defragmentation of C:\ lasted so long, that I had to cancel it. Could you please give me any idea about the reason why the computer could behave like that? Is this a problem of software or a problem with the computer itself?

I'm not very well why this is happening but maybe you should do a fresh install of the OS by using the recovery disk Toshiba m.

You already have this drive? Isn't it?
Then do it using the Toshiba Recovery Disk Creator.

Use it after you create the recovery disk and reinstall the operating system in order to check the functionality of the laptop!

    It is not easy to offer a solution to this. Satellite A300 is not supported with this problem and Linux, you're on your own.
    Check some Ubuntu forum. You're more likely to get good advice there.

    Otherwise, if Ubuntu works well you should be happy about it. This little problem shouldn't be that important to you.

    I m not quite sure if a remote control is available for your notebook series but if it s is available, so you could order on a local ASP (certified partner).
    If this part is not in stock, then the guys would be able to order it directly from Toshiba.

    I have an old Satellite A300-15 and I want to go back to factory settings after almost seven years of never format the hard drive.

    I did a little research on this 'how... "but I still don't know if the laptop comes with a windows recovery or not.

    I have another laptop with a score of "windows recovery", but in my toshiba, the only thing I see is a recovery of HARD drive file in my E: partition. I don't really know if that helps the reinstallation of windows.

    So if I reset the laptop with the method 'laptop computer Tower, hold the blah blah 0 button"it completely format my C: and need to reinstall windows or not?

    Start your laptop with F8 and choose the option to repair your computer. Follow the instructions on the screen and you will be able to install the original recovery image.

    Installation of recovery described called the installation of HARD drive recovery. With other words, saved on the HARD disk in the folder HDDRecovery recovery image will be reinstalled on the C partition only and the second partition of HARD drive will not be deleted or formatted.

    In my opinion, that you create the recovery using disc (DVD) preinstalled creator Toshiba recovery disc. You can use created bootable disks to install original Vista. When you use discs, the whole HARD disk will be deleted, formatted, new partitions created and installed Vista end.

    I don t think a new graphics driver would allow a higher screen resolution on your laptop A300.
    Have you checked your manual for more details?

    I downloaded the user manual of the Europe of Toshiba page and discovered that the display is a 15.4 WXGA 16Mill colors with the following resolution: 1280 horizontal and 800 pixels vertical.

    It seems that you are already using the highest available resolution and therefore you will not be able to wear to higher values.

    PS; new laptops series supports the controller SATA HDD and SATA drivers, which are part of the Intel Matrix Storage Manager, should therefore be included in the Win XP operating system.

    Then remove the preinstalled software, restart the laptop and install the downloaded software.

    Have you tried to repeat the recovery procedure?
    Have you used the recovery disk Toshiba or did you start from HARD drive recovery?

    Check the two procedures;
    First try the recovery of HARD drive; Press F8, and then choose fix my computer and in the new window, follow with HARD drive recovery.

    Looks like a problem familiar to me, as I had the same one with the Daemon tools. After installing these tools, I couldn't start my Windows XP. I guess that it somehow mixed upwards of some drivers or registry entries, but not sure about that.

    OK, you can try to uninstall tool first start Vista in safe mode (press F8 before Windows starts upward).
    You should then be able to enter in Vista without problem.

    First of al USB drivers are designed by Microsoft and these drivers are still included in the Windows operating system.
    As far as I know that the XP SP2 allows you to get the USB2 functionality.

    I would recommend Windows XP update to the last State.
