  I wasn't able to run PC-diagnose and volume button wasn't working so I uninstalled the existing extra value package, rebooted the system and tried to reinstall the latest version.

  I recently did a clean install of Windows 7 64 bit on my Toshiba Satellite A300 1FP. I was surprised how well it went. The only thing missing was a Windows 7 for a Chicony Webcam driver.   If your webcam doesn't work after installing Windows Toshiba Recovery disk I think that it s related to the defective material. I mean you have ever tried to update the BIOS and the driver of the webcam but that s all you can do.

  So I would recommend contacting your local authorized service provider people. I think they can help you can exchange the webcam if it of necessary.

  I just bought a Satellite A300-1BZ and I am not very happy as the laptop seems to be very slow...
  I'm used to a 3 years old is not very powerful laptop and my new Satellite is most of the time slower.

  For example just to log in a 'normal' Web page processors must run at least 60% to 70% and keep this speed even just to keep the page running...
  Is this normal?
  I would have immagined such a new machine to be much better...

  I recently bought Satellite A300 - 24 X PSAGQE T and I have little problems with fan.

  The thing is, it does not work until the temperature rises to something about 75 degrees, but then continues to run at full throttle, even if the temp. decreases.

  SIW ISC: ACPI - 45, the CPU cores around 44 HARD drive is 36 and the fan always runs at full speed. Ive tried a couple of fan speed, program management, but it did not help.

  Is there something that could help me with this prob?
