  I have a setup where I am trying to script a file copy with scp to a backup .tgz to a virtual computer on a remote server. I don't want the box remote to enter a password, so I want to generate a key pair and copy the .pub to the remote host key. However, procedures not to be not all that I can find using the ssh-keygen utility, which is not available in ESXi 5.

  Is there another method I use to generate a pair of keys I can use for this?

  In the GUI, I see features to add 4 different keys per user access from remote devices with the key private without a password for ssh.

  I have not found a command for it in the last iDRAC CLI PDF 7/8.

  I don't see that installed public keys are exported with an export of the server profile which would mean that access would be lost when profile importing. Is this correct? If so is this remedied the iDRAC future releases?

  You can use "racadm sshpkauth" to import or delete the public SSH key users to iDRAC.  You can get more details on the use of race using command "racadm help sshpkauth" or the RACADM CLI guide (link below)

  I'm fighting to install the VMware Vcenter Converter Standalone Agent on a Windows Server 2003 source machine.  First of all, I tried to deploy the agent to the source of the Vcenter Converter Standalone (installed on a windows server 2008 R2 server), but it has just failed with a generic error. Then I tried to manually install the agent on the source machine in 2003, but toward the end of the installation it errors on "error 29190 - could not generate key for secure sockets layer (SSL) ' then cancels the installation.  I could not find a solution to the problem and I was wondering if anyone could help please?

  If it can help someone else, I found a solution to my particular problem.  on the source machine, open the window Task Manager and then worked for the manual installation of the agent of converter, you will notice at different stages of installation, you get the additional instances of msiexec.exe showing upwards, at the end of the installation when the 29190 error pops up you should have a corresponding instance of msiexec, come and finish this msiexec in the Task Manager and click ok on the error , the installation then continues rather than restores.  I was able to p2v this machine then.

  I have read a number of different sites trying to find information on how to do it properly, but I had no luck.  I'm afraid at this point I'm all mixed up or miss me something simple [painfully].

  My goal is to create keys so that I can ssh/scp, as root, the ESXi server to another server in linux/unix under a different name.  Most, if not all of the sites I found coverage today the reverse: ssh/scp from another machine to the ESXi server.  I assume that ssh ESXi-> another host via keys is possible...?

  I believe that I'm almost there, but in all honesty, I don't know.  Here's what I've done so far.

  • RSA and DSA keys with dropbear created on the ESXi Server
  • convert keys RSA and DSA dropbear ssh format
  • Cat's public RSA and DSA keys in the ~/.ssh/authorized_keys on the server that I would like to ssh/scp
    • even tried to make a copy of authorized_keys as authorized_keys2 on the destination server
    • same CAT had the public keys of the ESXi authorized_keys & authorized_keys2
  • went up to copy the private key (!) from the ESXi server on the server I ssh/scp area in

  In regards to the box, I'm remote in I

  • keys generated with ssh-keygen - t dsa and rsa
  • typed in a sentence
  • CAT had the public key in .ssh/authorized_keys on ESXi box
    • as above in desperation I added it in the file authorized_keys local
    • copied authorized_keys to authorized_keys2
  • copied private keys (!) of the destination inbox ESXi machine

  I tried ssh username FQDN, ssh username@FQDN-l and with the IP address itself, whenever I was asked for a password.  Naturally if I just ssh hostname it trying to connect as root, which is not allowed and will fail.  Again, I apologize because I'm probably all mixed now. might be wise to simply erase all keys & start over.

  Is this possible?

  Is anyone interested in lending a hand?

• Is it possible to configure Dreamweaver to use a pair of public/private key for SFTP?

  Recently, I've been through a lot of effort to set up a new server because my only previous has been compromised somehow notified. I want to make absolutely certain that all Exchange of FTP files or administrative tasks (i.e., SSH) with the server are * encrypted *.  I opened DW CS4 and tried to create a new site where the remote server is FTP and 'use secure FTP' is checked. Unfortunately, this box does not allow me to specify a private key for my communications with the server and I need to activate password login for the SSHD daemon on the server.  Dreamweaver does support key based authentication?  Such a total disappointment if it isn't.

  Asked the same question a few months ago by another user, and unfortunately the answer is no, DW does not support this feature.

  If you would like DW to support this in a future version then I suggest that you post a feature request - https://www.adobe.com/cfusion/mmform/index.cfm?name=wishform&product=12. The more people who request a new feature more chances are that it can be implemented.

  TAB through the fields that exist. It is the function of the TAB.

  Otherwise you could never use TAB to go out in a field for example: subject. It would create an indefinate number of fields and are unable to function as a TAB key.

  TAB does not back to THE fields,
  New crests to THE fields or donkey typing/selection enter/return address, you can use the selection of mouse click.

  All the drivers for the laptop Toshiba EU models are available on the page of the Toshiba UE driver.
  If win 8 isn't supported on your laptop, this driver isn't available.

  But to my knowledge, these keys were controlled by Toshiba Value Package added (for Win Vista and Win 7).
  VAP isn t available for 8 Win / Win 8.1 more and has been replaced by the system of Toshiba driver.

  Perhaps you could install such system of Toshiba laptop driver that was released for other mobile phones latest models it of certainly worth a try
