Re-install Windows 7 on a machine with a UEFI interface...

I tried to install Windows on a machine with an EFI interface that seemed to go OK.  But after reboot half dozen is back to a member base disk and is no longer using the EFI interface. What I am doing wrong?  I enter diskpart and wipe the drive. convert the GPT disk, and then create the following partitions. I create partition EFI, MSR partition, then a primary partition takes the rest of the hard drive. I restart the machine after the creation of my partitions so that I can boot from the Windows 7 DVD in UEFI mode.

    Hello

I am also facing the same problem. I have a HP 550 laptop and it came with FREE pre-installed DOS. Its an INTEL Core 2 Duo with IGB RAM, 160 GB HD drive and also bought the machine 3 days back. I was tring to install WinXP on this Machine. But he won't go after the point where it says "STARTING WINDOWS" or something. At this point, it gives the blue screen and an error.

No matter what reliable help would be appreciated and would be grateful if it is developed as I am a newbie.

    Kind regards

    BUDHUS

The HP 550 is a portable class business and should have two options for installing XP.

    1. enter in the BIOS by pressing F10 at startup. If you have the option of Bios Setup to disable the native sata mode, XP will install without problem, no sata driver needed. It will be on the tab of the System Configuration.

    2. If you do not have the setting in the Bios, it's the driver sata for your machine:

Download and run, create a disk OR cancel disk creation. The files will be extracted to C:\Swsetup\sp37005 to use with Nlite.

You can use Nlite to integrate the drivers in a new XP installation cd. NLite will still burn the new cd of XP.
Very easy, really, just follow the guide below closely.

Yes, you must purchase a full license for the second installation of Windows 7 product key.  1 activation allows only one Windows 7 product key.  Apparently, you now have a second facility that requires a second product key. Carey Frisch

  • I deleted Windows Defender on Windows Vista and tried to download and reinstall windows Defender but I gat a message that comes up saying that I should not install windows defender, because it came with the computer.

deleted the windows on windows defender and impossible to reinstall! Message comes out and says that I should not install windows defender, because it came with windows vista. How can I try to fix it when I have windows Defender on my computer?

You can not delete Defender in Vista.

It is part of the Vista operating system.

You can only activate / it:

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-Vista/turn-Windows-Defender-on-or-off

Enable or disable the Windows Defender

Many anti-virus have conflict Defender (McAfee, AVG, etc.), and turn it out / conflict with it.

Microsoft Security Essentials, it turns off because it has its own version.

original title: installation using Windows 7

    Hello

It depends on your computer maunfacturer as to whether you will be able to always use the vista recovery partition after installing windows 7

Hewlett Packard machine; No, you can not

    Read about this HP:

Solve a common problem of recovery.
If the original operating system is changed to a non - Vista OS, the Recovery Manager cannot be launched either office or by pressing f11 at startup. You can use the recovery disk to restore the computer to the original state of Vista. If you are using a non - Vista OS, you can use a third-party partition management program to recover hard disk space.

    ________________________________________________________________

Here are the different ways to reinstall Vista

Contact the manufacturer of the laptop computer and ask them to send you to vista recovery disks to reinstall the operating system back as it was when you bought it

they do it for a nominal cost of $

    ____________________________________________________________

also ask them if you have a recovery partition on your hard drive to get back to the way you bought

you would normally press F8, F9, F10 or F11 or Alt + F10 or 0 to start to start the recovery process according to the manufacturer

Ask them of the exact key sequence

    __________________________________________________________

or borrow a vista microsoft dvd; not a HP, Acer recovery disk etc

Make sure that you borrow the correct 32-bit or 64-bit microsoft dvd to your computer

they contain all versions of vista

This is the product key that determines which version of vista is installed

  • How can I install Windows 7 on asus x501a with usb flash

I have an asus X501a windows 8 on it now, I would like to clean install windows 7 on it. This model with no dvd rom usb player is the only solution. Menu of boot Asus is very complicated because it is menu uefi, I'm completely confused, please help me how to clean install win 7.

    concerning

    Mr. Fadil

    Here is the solution:

    (1) place a bootable copy of Windows 7 on the USB key in question (there are several utilities to accomplish this, including PowerISO, v4.8 or superior and USB DVD Tool from Microsoft

    2) access the bios during the startup with F2

    (3) enable MSC startup and Save tab

    (4) re-boot and re - access the bios with F2

    (5) select the USB (the one without prefix of UEFI) as an option of Boot #1 and Save

    (6) re-boot and Windows 7 will launch its installation from the USB

    * Once the initial installation takes place and the machine re boots, you must re - access the bios, WSC, disable and set the internal hard drive as the Boot #1 option and save

I have finished the taks in the order described above and have a copy of Windows 7 X 64 running on the ASUS X501A job.

  • Cannot install Windows 7 Professional. Problems with partitions.

I have a problem installing WIN 7 Pro, I think that I managed to install a re - install Win 7 ultimate disc that came with my DELL laptop. As the disc, I guess that for a single use, something happened to prevent its use. Unfortunately I cannot start my new Zoostorm ACPI x 64-based PC successfully because windows will in the repair attempt, but can not correct now.
When I load the new Windows 7 pro, I get that, where you want to install windows, where

The detail shows: Windows cannot be installed to this hard disk space. Windows must be installed on a partition formatted in NTFS.  Windows cannot be installed to this hard disk space. The partition is a partition of EFI (ESP) system.
Disk 0 Partition 2; total size: 128 MB; Free space: 128 MB; Type: SC (reserved). The warning on this is: Windows cannot be installed to this hard disk space. The partition is a partition MSR (Microsoft Reserved).

I think I can segment the readers already, so don't want to do it again.

If you have any ideas on this one I would be most grateful. Best regards Steve

Yes, you must delete all partitions, this will ensure that you will be able to start a clean slate with Windows 7 Professional.

Hello world! So I'm here to talk about the installation of Windows 7 for the UEFI mode and I know a lot of people said it stucks on "Starting Windows" during installation, but I have a few question that my opinion:

    1. If a hard disk has come to Windows 8/8.1 with OEM or retail as installed, it should disable Secure Boot?

    2. If Windows 7 it remains stuck, the solution most is all in a hard drive format after Windows 8/8.1 backup partition and install Windows 7 with UEFI without getting stuck? I need to install it with TPG...

    Hope will understand. ;-)

Secure boot is integrated in the firmware, not the installation hard disk.

You can just boot from the installation media and format the hard drive.

Boot from the Windows 7 DVD

    Click Install now

    Accept the license agreement

When the option is displayed to select a type of installation, click (Custom advanced)

    Click on drive Options

Select the disc/s click on Delete

    Click new

    Click on apply

    Click OK

Click Format, and then click next to proceed with the installation

Optional PERC 6 / i material integrated PCI - e SATA/SAS RAID or card INTEL RST driver AHCI.

Advanced Format drives NEED F6 drivers.

Also the Raid container must be configured CTRL m and initialized before installing the operating system.

Windows 7 requires INTEL RST 9.6

Intel RST replaces Intel Matrix Storage Manager.  HOWEVER you cannot update to your hearts content of 7-8-9-10 11-12 or 13 etc.  As newer chipsets and drivers get the older ICH5 6 7 8 9 etc. are removed from support.
