Re-install windows with a different disc copy

I got a laptop with windows vist 32 bit. He has problems with it. Can I use my copy of the same windows vista from my pc at home to re - install a clean copy, but use the product on the mobile code number or do I have the original disc of the laptop to do?

You must have the manufacturer specifice OEM disc. If your copy of the disc is exactly the same as what went with the laptop, you can use it.

  • Cannot install Windows XP because my disc is damaged and does not load.

Try to reinstall Windows XP disc I have. Don't work so can't get computer to start

I tried to reinstall Windows XP Service Pack 2 on my mom's computer.  I deleted the files with the help of brother-in-law, who said he had the drive. I did not know the security number the disk has been corrupted. Have since found the drive to MOM. Don't read that so can't get on computer. Trying to put it again so that she is away... will be back Saturday Panicking!

Setup cannot find a previous version of windows installed on your computer.  To continue, Setup must verify that you qualify to use this upgrade product. Please insert the product windows CD is in the CD rom drive, and then press ENTER.  I have inserted a microsoft windows xp professional service pack 2, then this message: Setup could not read the CD you inserted, or the CD is not a CD of windows vald.

    Hello Sarah-JaneBenjamin
The disk that you want to install Windows with is an upgrade. You need a complete product if you want to use the upgrade disk to install the operating system. That's why it asks you to verify that you have a calling to upgrade product. You said that you inserted a disc of Microsoft Windows XP Professional for validation, it's the same disc supplied your brother-in-law? You have already determined that the disc is damaged, so it does not work. Have you checked that the drive that you want to use is a complete operating system and not just a service pack disc? Also if you use the upgrade disk is not the equivalent of the disk that you use to check then the validation will fail also. If I had to guess I would say that you are using a service pack disk and that's why he will not be validated.
In all cases, you must always a valid disc to re - install Windows. I suggest that you contact Packard Bell support and see if they can provide you with the media. The chances are slim that they will have it since it's Windows XP. If they don't you may want to check with 3 sites of third party for the purchase of Windows XP. Trying to divert from auction sites like most XP Media is questionable in their legitimacy.

  • Factory reset after re-installation of windows with a different key

    Hi all

    I bought a laptop HP dv7-7264ez, with 8 pre-installed windows ENVY.

After installing linux and messed with the boot settings, I need to re - install windows. Because I had not burned an iso of Windows 8 or extracted from my windows product key, I asked a friend to to burn me a DVD with his version of windows (Windows 8.1 pro). I did a reset of the PC of the utility of windows with this new version.

Now, I try to get my old version of Windows (normal, not pro) for reasons morals and because I can't "activate Windows" with the version of my friend.

To create a Windows DVD, I downloaded the Microsoft tool and extract from my current product key with this tool. The problem is that the extracted key is the version of my friend and it is not valid to create a .iso for Windows 8.

In other words, I need to get my original Windows product key!

Is it possible to do a factory reset 'real '?

Or y at - it a database with all affected Windows keys?

    Thanks for your help!

    VincenT

    You are the very welcome.

You may need to install the driver sata for your model.

    Try this...

Download the drivers from this link below (first or second file listed - 32 or 64 bit depending on the case).

    https://Downloadcenter.Intel.com/Detail_Desc.aspx?AGR=Y&ProdId=2101&DwnldID=23060&keyword=Intel+RAPI...

Extract the files on a usb flash drive.

With the flash drive and the installation of W8 media plugged into the machine, boot from the installation of W8 media.

After selecting the install now option, select the training - Advanced menu, Options and select the option load a driver.

You should now see the storage driver files listed.

If you check the box, it only includes the compatible driver.

Follow the prompts and if this is the problem, install W8.

There is no way I know of to recover the product key.

It works with an OEM W8 as XP installation disc used for in ancient times.

You had to match the installation media with the type of product key (OEM, sale retail or upgrade).

  • How to install Windows 7 from the disc

I need to know how to install the Windows 7 Home premium OEM version from the installation disc. I didn't know when I bought it on EBay, it is a generator system copy. I need to access the custom option to reinstall the full version of Home Premium on the ultimate version, which is not valid because I didn't know he could go only on a single computer. Anyway, if anyone could help me by allowing me to know where to find instructions on how to install Windows 7 Home Premium OEM version from the installation disc, I would be grateful. Or if you can send me the instructions, would be great.

Change the BIOS so that the DVD drive is the first boot device. Save the BIOS change (exit and save) then insert the DVD and follow the instuctions. Note: OEM media can perform an installation "Custom"and clean. "

  • install windows with an authorization number 8

Hello. Right now im running windows 7 but in two days, windows 8 will be released and I plan to buy it. the problem is that whenever I have install a program on my pc, I have to had to got in the file and I need to change the permisssion to this file and change the owner to myself (even though im an administrator...).

I don't want to buy the winows 8 and realize that it won't install on my pc, so I just dropped t ask you guys if I get this error during the installation of windows 8 or it will work just somehow...

Oh btw the permission, I have to do if the file is installed, the program files 86... If I install the users on it works finn...

You don't want ALL the problems in the base operating system during the upgrade to Windows 8.

Save your important stuff, personal files, etc. to external media (external hard drive is the best).

Then, a "return to factory" install of your current operating system from the recovery partition.

Then do the recovery disc for Windows 7 by following the instructions in the new facility. You will need these if you need or want to re - install Windows 7.

After having done the above, your computer must be in stable and good condition for the upgrade process...

Your computer is equipped with a recovery partition that allows to restore "factory".

This is how the recovery partition is accessible to most popular brands...

For Dell, press CTRL + F11 directly after switching on the device

For HP, press F11 directly after switching on the device

For Toshiba, press and hold "0" BEFORE and during the power upward

For Acer, press and hold ALT + F10, as soon as you see the logo

For Asus, press F9, as soon as you see the Asus logo.

Advent, restart your computer. Then, press F10 repeatedly until the message "Starting system recovery"

Sony VAIO, restart and until that screen "Advanced Boot Options" appears, press "F8".

You may need to try several times to get everything above to work. If after several attempts, you have no chance, or the machine indicates that there is no recovery partition, your only option is to contact the computer manufacturer and ask for the model recovery discs...

  • OSXRESERVED do not deleted after installing Windows with Bootcamp

I installed Windows 8.1 and upgrade to Windows using Boot Camp 10.

I think that the normal procedure for installation (instructions Apple) should be:

-Boot Camp will partition the original HDD system to:

    -Partition OS x 'reduced '.

-OSXRESERVED partition to save all the installation Windows 8.1 or CD ISO.

-TRAINING camp of hard drive where the final installation of Windows will be.

-Once installation is complete (it took about 5 hours!) so it should be reconfigured by boot camp would exist only two partitions:

    -Partition OS x 'reduced '.

-BOOTCAMP with Windows OS HARD drive.

But I still 3 partittions in my MAC PRO END of 2013: OSX, OSXRESERVED and BOOTCAMP.

So now, when I boot my MAC PRO instead of see 2 possibilities of OS (OS x and WINDOWS) I see three possibilities (OSX, WINDOWS, and WINDOWS again), and the third possibility is wrong, it will show the original installation Boot CDROM instead of Windows 8.1

I hope that I have explained clearly (...).

Second part of the problem: I want to use VMWARE FUSION and configure it to use the Bootcamp partition as a virtual machine (YES, with the MERGER it is possible to use as virtual bootcamp, then you can start your Machine Windows within the MAC, or boot from the beginning). The problem is that the MERGER will detect the OSXRESERVED partition, but not the BOOTCAMP partition... So I can't get it to work until I have the first problem...

Would you please be so kind as to help (I would like someone to really expert Apple could give a solution).

    Best regards

    Francesc

    1. you can remove OSXRESERVED manually using disk utility.

2 VMWare seems unable to distinguish between the installer and install BC. Once you delete OSXRESERVED, it should work fine.

    I have two problems.

    (1) when I want to make the Boot Camp partition, I opened the app, and I do Boot Camp with the DVD options, I don ' t have the possibility of USB, I try to edit the info.plist is the administrator and I n ' have permission, I lost the permission when I arrived at the happy record.

    (2) I can't do the Boot Camp with USB I did a DVD with an external DVD drive. I can make the partition, but my problem comes when my Mac reboots to install W7 and W8 and typical black screen of MSDOS with the underscore "_" appears flashes all the time. During the installation of Windows Setup started and you have the screen which shows your partitions and to choose one, you choose your Bootcamp partition and click on Format of below the list of partitions? You must leave the configuration format the Bootcamp in NTFS partition before installing Windows actually.

  • You want to re - install Windows 7, no original disc!

Hello, I recently bought a Veriton L670G opportunity for our family of PC.

It seems to be a compact and very nice unit.

I would like to do a clean install of Win 7 Professional on a new hard drive but has no installation disc.

The base of the unit has what appears to be a COA ACER original and in good condition for Win 7 Pro, but I have purchase Acer problems required media.

After several online "chats" with ACER, I paid about 51GBP and received a CD containing only of FreeDOS.

There is clearly something that I'm either wrong or I am providing erroneous data.  I have provided the serial number of the BIOS Veriton case labels info and photo of the ACER Microsoft COA.

The Microsoft web site will not help as they say that it is the responsibility of the ACER as OEM.  No doubt, Microsoft acknowledges the number of COA as having come from ACER.  The COA label has ACER clearly on this.

ACER support chat tell me that the machine was initially delivered with FreeDOS but the tag box is clearly for Win 7.

Still no Acer said that my COA is not legitimate, so I'm at a loss to know how I can provide me with a legitimate system of re - install.

Is it possible to create media complete re-installation of my ongoing Win 7 OS?  I don't see a way to do short to take a ghost of thesystem partition copy.

Useful suggestions (other than the purchase of a copy of the retail of a BONE) are welcome.

    Thanks in anticipation,

    Jonathan

Can I buy a copy of Windows 7 Professional SP1 and use it to activate my Windows 7 Professional (no service pack)?

I'm afraid that the fact that they are different service packs will be a problem.

A product key Windows 7 Pro 'Détail' will work / activate on both Windows 7 Pro with or without SP1.

However now that Windows 7 with SP1 is only available in OEM product, all Windows 7 retail products do not include SP1 but the key to "Retail" will still work if you download an .iso file that includes SP1.

    Hello

I'm sorry, but as far as I know, it is not possible to download an operating system. If you have lost your recovery CD with the image of the whole plant, you will need to buy a new Toshiba or only an operating system and install the system by your own.
