Disable the animation of 'bookmark this page' prompt?

How can I turn off or disable animation newly added to the prompt "bookmark this page"?

It was possible to press Ctrl + D to insert a bookmark and immediately followed by ENTER.
It's is no longer possible, because the small window of dialogue takes so long to animate upward.

In General, I like all kinds of animations. So I went through great efforts to put favicon animation, zoom up animations, have replaced the new download window by an addon, shot of gifs to liven up once, use an adblocker and off the tabs-animation by editing the respective file.

Now, there's a new animation that takes away from my time and turn away from whats important. How can I disable it, please?

Option #1
Install the add-on to kill Animations group.

Option #2
If you have the add-on stylish installed, install the following user style.

Option #3
If you don't want to install additional modules, place the code in the style sheet above in the userChrome.css file and restart Firefox. Check that the @namespace line appears only once at the top of the file.

On Firefox version 29.01 does not display the drop-down list of the extra on the right side 'bookmark this page' as the drop of bookmarks on the left.

You can click the star that doesn't show in the third screenshot to bookmark the current page, so there is no need to have this item in the drop-down list button folder next to him.
This will highlight the Blue Star to indicate that the current URL is bookmarked.
You can click on the underlined Blue Star another time to get the dialog box "edit a bookmark this" If you want to move the bookmark to another folder (the default is the unsorted folder).

Note that in Firefox current releases the menu entry 'Bookmark this Page' in the bookmarks menu changes to "Edit this bookmark" once you have bookmarked the page and the star on the Navigation bar is highlighted blue.
So do not get confused by the lack of 'Bookmark this Page' in the menu bookmarks and see "Edit this bookmark" instead if you try to bookmark a page that is already set bookmark.

I reinstalled Firefox after you have uninstalled it, then COMPLETELY clean out of my registry and all files that I could find. I still do not have this, because when I reinstalled, it came back with all my favorites, history, etc.. !!! But at least now I get 'Bookmark this Page' again.

Mozilla Firefox is definitely an insidious beast, however. Now, I know I'll never be able to get rid of it completely!

    Now, I have to:
    1) click the Blue Star stupid to get the menu to place my new bookmark where I choose to do instead of going to unsorted bookmarks again...
    OR
    (2) raise or having the menu bar and click on the menu choice "Bookmarks" to "bookmark this page", which shows what I would call the menu choice or sorting which allows me to access my bookmarks menu...

.. where I wanted to go to a bookmark, AND I get to select 'choose', which is what I used to do when you add a bookmark.

Some menu entries in the main menu bar are hidden if you are using the mouse and only appear if you use the keyboard to open the menu (Bug 626825).

You can see the difference if you use Alt + F to open the file menu and other menus such as the Edit (Alt + E) menu and the menu bookmark (Alt + B) and compare that to what you see, if you use the mouse to open the menu after the bar of menus visible by typing Alt or by pressing F10.

  • Make vertical entry 'Bookmark This Page' in the Menu bookmark?

'Bookmark this Page' used to be the vertical entry in the bookmarks menu, but Firefox 6, it has been moved further away. I found that when I bookmark on a page I don't really look at the menu and automatically, click the first item, which is now "show all bookmarks". I find myself so raise the bookmarks library about five times a day, which is very annoying.

'Bookmark this Page' is entered by far the most commonly used in the bookmarks menu, so I was wondering if there is a way to bring him back to the top?

Thanks for any help you can offer.

Try Firefox Safe mode to see if the problem goes away. Firefox Safe mode is a troubleshooting mode that disables certain parameters, disables most Add-ons (extensions and themes).

If Firefox is open, you can restart Firefox Safe mode in the Help menu:

    • In Firefox 29,0 and above, click on the menu button

      click Help

then select restart with disabled modules.

    • In previous versions of Firefox, click on the Firefox button in the upper left of the Firefox window and click help (or click on help in the Menu bar, if you do not have a Firefox button) and click on restart with disabled modules.

If Firefox is not running, you can start Firefox in Mode safe mode as follows:

    • On Windows: Hold down the SHIFT key when you open the desktop Firefox or shortcut in the start menu.
    • On Mac: Hold the option key during the startup of Firefox.
    • On Linux: Exit Firefox, go to your Terminal and run firefox-safe-mode
(you may need to specify the installation path of Firefox for example/usr/lib/firefox)

When the Firefox Safe Mode window appears, select "start mode safe."

If the issue is not present in Firefox Safe Mode, your problem is probably caused by an extension, and you need to understand that one. Please follow the section Troubleshooting extensions, themes and problems of hardware acceleration to resolve common Firefox problems to find the cause.

To exit safe mode of Firefox, simply close Firefox and wait a few seconds before you open Firefox for normal use again.

When find you what is causing your problems, please let us know. This might help others with the same problem.
