Well, famous ghost won't start on my machine under no circumstances :(
I recorded versions of SG Corporate (8.3, 11.0), after the start (CD/DVD or USB Flash Disk).
He immediately gets frozen, even though the same thing works fine on other computers.

It works under Ghost32
inside WinXP, but I need running on PC (MS) - BACK. Any idea?

I assume that Symantec has no idea why this happen, and now you post here on the forum of Toshiba? Am I right about that?

    That s funny because the BIOS password or contractor may be reset by an authorized service provider.
    The BIOS password is a high security option that can not easily be reset.
    Then ONLY ASP can remove a UNKNOWN password.

    By elsewhere all applications of this are part on the image of Toshiba and it s not possible to install only one program.

    You must reinstall the entire image.

    Maybe the temperature inside the laptop could be the reason of this gel.
    I had once similar there is question. My frizzy 6 specifications because the temperature affected the memory modules.
    So I cleaned the cooling fans using a jet of compressed air and I replaced the thermal grease which is a space between the cooling module and CPU. This helped...

    Sorry for my English but I'm French. I'll try to do my best to describe my problem.

    I bought Satellite A100 2 months ago.
    After I completed the installation of Vista, I changed the partition of my hard disk, I put a few MB on my my d: C:
    I installed OpenOffice 2.0 and that's it.

    Almost every day my laptop freeze: there is a single reaction, that is when I stopped it by the power button.
    This problem occurs when:
    -I do nothing
    -L' computer goes into sleep mode
    -I'm working on open office
    -J' using IE7

    I did update to Vista (home edition) and the driver for the graphics card is the last of NVIDIA.

    Anyone has the same problem?

    Hmm... not easy to say why the A100 freezes. I think that the application of the 3rd party could is a bad influence on Vista. Also the C partition changed may cause this issue.

    In my opinion, you should retrieve the laptop using the Toshiba Recovery CD.
    Can use and work on the laptop (without installation of 3rd party) to check if the laptop freezes using factory settings!

    If the laptop works properly and without the buttons then the material is not defective and the problems are related to software and simple programs.

    If it is not advisable to install and use these programs. ;)

    I've got a 2.5 years old Satellite A100. He was going well until recently, when I found that the pc freezes completely - this looks only happen when I move the cursor on the screen. The only thing I can do, it's a hard re-boot.
    The problem has become more common, and I had to reinstall the operating system (using the disc that came with the laptop). After you have reinstalled everything worked well. But all of a sudden the same problem reappeared. I thought maybe it was different software clash between them and so I once again re-formatted the hard drive and reinstalled the operating system.
    This time it froze once more as I move the mouse around the screen. But it's happened before that I had installed anything on the PC. It is an entirely new installation.

    I also want to mention that this problem occurred first a year ago. At that time I had to wipe the hard drive and reinstall the OS and it worked fine until about 2 weeks ago, when I've updated my "spybot search & destroy ' software." It was after this the problem started again. The rest of the story is as above.

    Just to mention that, after that the problem started 2 weeks ago, I reinstall the mouse driver using the touchpad driver that is available on the Web from Toshiba site.

    Please help - I have been re - install the OS on / off power for 2 weeks now and I still have the problem. I am close to giong out and buy a new PC!

    It's strange, and I think it looks like a hardware issue because you used the disk recovery Toshiba and after that, the same problem occurs.

    But it's not easy to say what causes this problem. You can check the RAM and HARD drive using Drive Fitness Test and Memtest86. Use Google to find the two programs. You can download an image bootable in these two programs. You must burn it to a CD and boot from it.
    If the peut t-tests is a mistake your laptop should be checked by a technician for laptop.

    Maybe you can find the problem yourself, and to swap the RAM or HARD drive, it's pretty easy.

    I have a Satellite A100-225 with a 100 GB SATA Hitachi drive I int it that recently started showing bad sectors. Then I bought a Hitachi 320 GB SATA II drive to replace it. I tried the drive and it was recognized right away, so I didn't need to change the SATA speed. I ran the restore a disk installed newest. The problem I have is that the computer keeps freezing and crashing with the new drive. It takes a lot of time to load up when turned on and there is a noticeable to untermittant delay when you drag the cards around solo.

    I tried to run the Hitachi drive test and it comes back fine. I also tried to turn the SATA speed of the drive down from 300 to 150 via the firmware, and although I saw a slight improvement, it is still not right.

    I talked to Hitachi and they say that he could not be 100% compatible, so the problems. Someone at - it else sucessfully set up a replacement for this notebook drive and if so what make and model. Has anyone else had simular problems?

    Years ago, I've updated yet more former Satellite M70 with SATA HDD (270 GB if I m remembering well) and everything was fine.
    In my view upgrade with SATA HDD normal shouldn't be a problem. Do not SATA II because it will not work faster.

    I can't say for sure, but there must be a compatibility problem.

    Let's see if someone else had better luck with the upgrade of the disk on the Satellite A100.

    Have you checked this forum with advanced search option? Maybe you can find some old NET on upgrade the HDD on A100.

    Strange, but perhaps the new HARD drive is defective or not compatible with your laptop.
    Have you tested the new HARD drive in a laptop or in an external HARD drive enclosure? It work?

    In your case I would use check the HARD drive in another laptop first, and then maybe you should try another of your laptop HARD drive.

    I recently got my Satellite A100-495 back from repair - it had a power problem (no led was flashing and it does not start of course). They told me that the motherboard has been renewed.

    Now, I have the following two issues:

    (1) it freezes suddenly sometimes in windows after 1-2 hours of operation without problems and I have to hold the power button for a few seconds restart

    (2) I press the power on button, LEDS are underway but the screen remains black, sometimes becomes gray, hard drive makes noise, fans going on but it just does not start, do not show anything. After some tests, I have to start but once again crashes after a couple hours of functioning properly.

    Can someone tell me what is the problem here?

    Bad memory (RAM) can cause this.

    If you can get it to start, test the memory with Memtest on a bootable CD. www.memtest.org

    Otherwise, try the combination of the different memory card. If you have 2 sticks of memory, try with one stick, then try the other stick, try different locations.
