Re: Satellite A100 recovery media

Where can I purchase/download the recovery for a Satellite A100 media?

Satellite A100 is old small model laptop so I put t believe that you will be able to order recovery image more.

What you can do is to install the operating system that is supported by using the original Microsoft facilities.
All the necessary drivers, tools and utilities, you can download from http://eu.computers.toshiba-europe.com/innovation/download_drivers_bios.jsp

BTW: Download image recovery is not possible

I want to restore my Toshiba Satellite A100 laptop to its original factory condition, but the DVD that comes with the package of recovery does not work...

I have load to start computer press F12, and it starts on the DVD. It says "Loading RAMDISK Image", after which I am told by Toshiba customer service there should be options to clean up the hard drive or restore Windows XP.

However, after VIRTUAL disk, I see a cursor on a black screen, and then the laptop off and restarts. After the connection, NO CHANGES made...

What is the problem with that? How can I really use this recovery DVD?
    Someone help me please.

    Thank you.

    Hello

The recovery procedure is not difficult.
Just try to boot from the recovery CD or DVD and follow the Guide on the screen line.

Your problem is very strange. You have created all the partitions on the HARD drive?
I put really t know why your recovery CD doesn't work properly, but I think you should try to completely format the disk (also partitions), then try to boot from the recovery CD.

Don't forget that the laptop is in the boot mode. (don t mix the standby or hibernation mode)

I removed the memory that I have entered over the past two years and return the PC in the factory scene.
However, recovery will not be finished (he worked to restore).

I am able to boot in dos with a separate boot disk (Dr. back, windows does not start, not even in the safe control mode) and I did chdsk of the disc and disc is fine.

I've never used before recovery disc, the only thing different is BIOS 2.20 instead of 1.50.

    Hello

The A100-S2211TD doesn t support the Intel Chipset!
This laptop was equipped with the ATI graphics card and the graphics driver on the Toshiba page contains us the graphics driver and chipset driver!

Have you received 100% good recovery CD?

In your case I would try to install Win XP from the Microsoft CD to check if the same error would appear if no drivers are included in the CD of the OS.

  • Satellite A100 Recovery CD Wizard Error Code: F3-FFFF-0008

I just bring a Satellite A100 and a problem by performing a full restore using the two supplied with my laptop recovery disks.

The problem came after I deleted all partitions on the hard drive and then reformatted the entire hard drive.

I get on the above error code, stated in the following format:

    ERROR: F3-FFFF-0008
    An error has occurred
Please press [OK] to turn on the power the computer off.

When I try to use the Recovery Wizard.

I will be grateful if someone can help me on this one.

I agree with the previous user. I think it's a matter of formatting of s.
Try to boot from the original Windows XP CD. This would format the HARD drive again.
Then use the Toshiba Recovery CD again!

I noticed these problems installing several times and bad HARD drive format has been mostly a reason for similar problems

  • Satellite A100 - recovery does not work

    Hello

I own a Satellite A100 with XP that I want to format my HD and reinstall everything from the original recovery disc supplied with my pc. When I inserted the recovery disk and restart, press F12 and boot from the CD/DVD, it load ramdrive and then the screen turns white and he finally boot from the HD. There are two possible problems:
The CD/DVD drive laser lens is dirty and cannot properly manage any disk or disks are not entirely compatible.

Recommend to clean the laser lens with a cotton ball and alcohol tip in most cases its pretty good for cleaning the lens
Also, try to use other discs of different brands...

TDK R or R Verbatim discs are good never had no problems using it

Where can I find Toshiba Recovery Media Creator?

    Thank you

    Richard

    Hello

Toshiba recovery media creator is only preinstalled on your laptop and cannot be downloaded. I put t know why the program doesn't start anymore but you have deleted this file or uninstalled any tool from Toshiba? This would explain why recovery media creator doesn t start

The only option you have is to reinstall the OS again. You can use the HARD drive recovery function, as described in your user manual or follow the link posted by Timox.

If you have already created the recovery media, you can forget it, but otherwise it is important that you are installing to HARD drive recovery and create the recovery media. As you can see in other threads some users would need the support of recovery but they n t does so don t make the same mistake ;)

  • Satellite A100 - recovery disk loop

    Hey guys,.

I am currently trying to reformat/reinstall Windows on my laptop A100. There is nothing wrong with that, I just wanted a clean install. I use the recovery disk and start the laptop through the DVD player. It reads the DVD fine I get "Loading the RAMDisc Image" or something else, and fill the bars and loads. After that, I see a cursor with a black background and then after a few seconds, the phone restarts and brings back me to the start screen for Toshiba again. Does anyone know what is the problem?

I used the disc before and it worked fine. The only difference between yesterday and today is that I partitioned my hard drive into three sections (Windows XP, Windows Vista, Misc files storage), but I don't think it would be a problem.

In addition, if you use the recovery disk does not, is there another way to wipe the hard drive and start over? (That is to say, reformat the entire computer and reinstall my OS?)

    Thanks in advance!

What happened to my laptop. To resolve this problem, I deleted all the partitions on the disk using FDISK non-dos and then was taken successfully.

You can download free startup BACK disks on www.bootdisk.com (choose the custom floppy Win98SE, there FDISK).

Have you tried to format the HARD drive?
Did you use the right recovery CD?

    Please post more information!

  • The Satellite A100 recovery disk + explorer.exe

    OK, I have 2 problems,

    1. I did a virus scan and deleted TI explorer.exe I had a look in the folder with the 7z file manager and it wasn't there, also when I try the new task: explorer.exe it says it cannot be found. I can't explorer.exe from the recovery disk?

    2. I tried using the recovery disc after I couldn't find explore and he loading and all, while mouse came, then about 3 seconds later just restart computer. It's strange because I used the recovery disc b4.

    Help would be greatly appreciated.

    > Can I get the recovery disk explorer.exe?
No, because the recovery disk only contains an image file and it would not be possible to get only the explorer.exe

    > 2. I tried using the recovery disc after I couldn't find explore and he loading and all, while mouse came, then about 3 seconds later just restart computer. It's strange because I used the recovery disc b4.
I put t know how you used this disc, but you can only use it in a sense. You can start only this recovery disk and this will lead to a new installation of the OS and the HARD drive will be formatted too.

If you want to get the job of the OS so I recommend you either reinstall the operating system, or you can assign to the OS to the point of time at the beginning.

    See you soon

  • How can I get my Satellite Pro A100 product recovery media?

When I bought my A100, I didn't any of the product recovery media. I assumed it would be pre - installed on a partition of my hard drive. Seems not to be the case.

I want to resize my main partition to allow me to install linux on the space that would be made available. While Linux will do for me, just in case there is an error, I need a copy of the product for XP and other software pre-installed recovery media. Direct contacts on the Toshiba site are difficult to locate.

So I was wondering if anyone can point me in the right direction? I am a UK user.

    Hello

If the recovery disk was not supplied with the laptop, then you should be able to create a recovery disk using the preinstalled tool called Toshiba Recovery Disk Creator.
I think that you didn t read the user manual after you have received the laptop

Anyway usually the recovery disc can be ordered here:
    https://backupmedia.Toshiba.EU/landing.aspx

But not all the recovery discs would be available, especially if the laptop series was abandoned this means that you can not order a recovery disc if the laptop series is too old you can also try to contact a local ASP (partner) in your country for assistance and could try to order this disc it.

Otherwise, you must use an original disc of MS Windows all drivers can be downloaded from the page of European driver of Toshiba.

  • How to reinstall media player express on Satellite A100-683?

For some stupid reason, I managed to format the partition that contains the media express the player.

I really think that I have ever received a recovery cd or I lost it in a mather of seconds after I bought my Satellite A100-683 in 2006.

Never the less: I want this program back so I called the technical assistance service. They have managed to tell me that they cannot provide me with a recovery disk because it contained the program note only Microsoft (and Microsoft does not allow redistribution more this program).

My questions, subject that has been media express player and if they had any suggestions where to look for the software, went unanswered.

    So my question is:
Can someone give me please with software that reinstalls express MediaPlayer in its Linux partition on the hard drive of my laptop?

    > I really think that I have ever received a recovery cd or I lost it in a mater of seconds after I bought my Satellite A100-683 in 2006.

Have goggled a bit that has found that this laptop was certainly delivered with the Toshiba Recovery CD and the CD Express Media Player.
So, I think that you lost!

    > I want this program to go back so I called the technical assistance service. They have managed to tell me that they can t give me a recovery disk because it contained the Microsoft program single note (and Microsoft doesn t allow a redistribution of this program).

AFAIK the OneNote has been installed on the Toshiba Recovery CD but the Express Media Player has been on the external CD. So it should not be bundled with the software OneNote.

    > So my question is: can someone please provide me with a software that reinstalls express MediaPlayer in its Linux partition on the hard drive of my laptop?
Unfortunately, I n t think someone can do the official Toshiba forum isn't a platform of Exchange software ;)
