Re: Satellite A500/026 shows Blue Screen of Death

Hi all

Just a quick winge / to complain/ask for help!

I recently acquired a Satellite A500/026 for Christmas (2009)

I installed Windows 7 via Toshiba built in software thingy, 64-bit, and it was running ok, then all of a sudden I started having screens blue rightbefore death or after the logon screen appears, usually blah blah less_than_zero or something.

in any case being the computer genuis Franklin that I am :) I decided to reformat, ok cool, so I did that, now it is 32-bit, windows 7, with no new program installed, and it continues to give me the same problems. Apartment to send it into the Toshiba people, what can I do >?

Hello

Have you tried updating the graphics card driver? I want to talk about the new driver nvidia version gt 230M, series of nvidia.com
You can try it out and let know us if it hepls you. But do not consider updating your Bios because it does not help in your case, but can bring the crash of the Bios with white screen

  • Satellite A500 - 19(d) - blue screens and restarts suddenly

I am the most unfortunate customer or this model again? No one has problems with the A500 - 19(d)?
I bought, five days ago a new. First start: blue screen. Second: blue screen. Third: F8 safe mode → → can through the entire current configuration.
Then start: party started. A few times the blue pro displays time and restarts. Tempro have 2 messages based: BIOS and WLAN driver update. Update BIOS message: your BIOS is newer or the same thing. Updated WLAN: no driver for my Realtek RTL819 * 1 * SE for Win7.

Two days in vain have off turned parts and drivers downloaded. Third day: I have restored the laptop in its original original (thanks to the recovery of hard disk based) configuration and wanted to put back to give. But a small miracle happens (it's Christmas... or?)  :-)): no more blue screens. OK... just to start, it starts two or three times until OK and then just two or three times suddenly restarts a day. Yet once the drivers downloaded in vain. No change. Someone has an idea? It must be something wrong with the drivers in safe mode, that's OK. Again, there should be a driver it is loaded at startup (blue screen of the first and the second). I really like this laptop but have bought for work not for pleasure and, in this way, its quite risky, so I have to change them.

Stand by. Maybe I've misunderstood something and have to ask you once again: have you noticed this BSOD problem with State factory and without additional software installation?

Last month I had friends Satellite A500 for the test and I did not notice this kind of problems with original Vista and also clean install of Win7.
If you really think that it can be risky for you I recommend you exchange it again.

  • Satellite A500-19 x - blue screen suddenly appears in Windows 7

    I have the satellite a500-19 x,
There is a problem in every time and every day when I'm working.
All of a sudden the windows stopped a few moments and then blue screen and restart windows.

    Hello

It would be interesting to know, you have the code BSOD
I've read many threads on BSOD and in most cases, it s about the graphics card driver or other drivers who seems to be some trouble with Win 7.

First you need to update the BIOS and Windows 7, then you should try updating the graphics card driver.

    Good luck

  • Satellite A500 - 18 X - blue screen with error jmcr.sys

    Hi all

I have the Toshiba Satellite A500 - 18 X. I get several errors with a blue screen that is associated with a file called jmcr.sys, I used the recovery process, but the problem persists.

Can someone tell me what could be the problem? Is it a virus, a hardware malfunction or some drivers not up-to-date?

    Thank you

    Hello

If you have already used the recovery disk Toshiba it appears to be a malfunction of the equipment. I don't see a reason for a software problem, because the Toshiba Recovery disk restore factory settings and these settings are pre-tested by Toshiba

So most blue screens are related to defective RAM modules. You can test them using Memtest86. It is a diagnostic tool where you can download an iso image for creating a startup disk.

  • Satellite P200-17 b - Blue Screen of Death crashes

    http://forums.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com/forums/thread.jspa?threadID=26790&TSTART=50

In the thread above, I asked for the crash of my P200-17 b.
After an answer, I went to the dealer and they told me, because my laptop crashes are not easy to represent in it support lab.

This may be difficult for them to cope. If you insist to send authorized TOSHIBA service provider, and they can't find anything wrong.
Clearly, I must pay all associated costs. What should I do now?

The system crash occurs only once a day and randomly.

How can I represent the crash in a short time in the laboratory of the dealer?

Hmm... What said can you have to go to the dealer for laptop and require the replacement of the laptop.

It is very difficult to say what is wrong because as you say, it is not easy to replicate this error message.
You should maybe wait until this error and make several photographs to the proof of this mistake on your laptop.
Then show your cell phone dealer or service provider authorized in your country.

But thinking is important; You must install the operating system from the Toshiba Recovery CD and do not install any 3rd party applications that could have a negative influence on the system!

  • Satellite Pro A200SE-1F9 starts showing blue screen

    Hello

I recently bought a Satellite Pro A200SE 1F9 (2.00 Ghz, 2 GB RAM, professional running Vista), after 4 months he began to launch Blue error screen. I tried not to upgrade or fix a new material. I had a Linux Fedora 7 (dual boot), as I was getting this error quite often I got Vista Business (using Toshiba recovery disc). Now, I have only Vista in my laptop (lost Linux completely).
Some time the Notepad starts and goes inside Vista, after 10/20 mts, it starts again after showing blue screen, in other cases it keeps restart after a quick blue screen start.

I'm really frustrated by this behavior and don't know what to do. Can someone help me please in the present.

    Thank you
    R ncira

Have you installed a few applications which can be responsible for that?

I can't imagine that the BSOD occurs after a clean install of Vista OS.

Satellite A500/026, I bought a month before, and actually use days perhaps only 14 days.

That books get frozen after 5 minutes and can't stop, no matter what you do.
I made the recovery of factory default. the first can not finished and frozen in the State. over twice the recovery, but the jelly still happens after 5 to 10 minutes. I don't know why these things happened on a brand new computer. What them to prove the quality for the Toshiba?

Site Web de Toshiba have also any number of phone customer feedback or complaint hotline.
I swear that not more product Toshiba for me, also include my family and all my friends.

    Hello

I have no idea of what has happened with your laptop, but according to your assignment, the laptop freezes even using HARD drive recovery.
In your case it s recommended to contact the ASP (certified partner) in your country. The laptop seems to be covered by the warranty that is why everything should be done for free.

The ASP database in the world can be found here:

  • Blue screen of death, the Satellite M100

    Hello

I have Satellite M100, we had problems with the blue screen of death sometimes and then it seemed fairly constant and the only way to ensure that the system is not plant was to start it in safe mode.

The noise had also stopped working. Decided to restore the factory settings system used the disk and everything goes well until the system started in windows allows you to go through the installation program then blue screen again. The sound seems to have returned, although it is slightly crispy.
So don't know if this is the problem or not. Unrecoverable system error crashes and also driver_irql_not_less_or_equal.

Now cannot start in safe mode as the windows installation did not finish...

    Any ideas anyone?

    See you soon
    Simon

    Hello Simon

If BSOD is displayed after the installation of recovery, it may be a serious physical issue.
Try installing the OS using the recovery discs. If the problem persists I think it's time to contact the nearest Toshiba service provider.

  • Satellite L450D - 13 X - black screen of death/Blue Screen of Death

    Hello everyone.

I have a Toshiba Satellite L450D - 13 X for children, and for the price it's a good laptop. Have had no problems with it until two weeks ago, when the screen froze for boys while playing a game and downloading a program on the net. Had to make a stop of force and since then, we have a BSoD on each startup. That's what we tried:

On "Starting Windows", we are given the option to either 'Launch Startup Repair' that ends as BSoD or "Start Windows normally" who returns to the list of option "starting Windows."
Any attempt enter 'Safe Mode' BSOD results.
Attempt to boot an ISO of the disk recovery Windows on a USB key (we did put highlight and make promotion up) results in BSoD. Borrowing a correct installation of Windows 7 DVD and highlighting what an option cause BSoD.

In fact, the only option that we used who threw something different has been using advanced startup options. On one of these options, we've got the Blue Screen of Death with the following information:

    Unmountable_Boot_Volume
Disable memory the Bios Options such as cache/occultation

    Technical info

    Stop: 0x000000ED (0xFFFFFA80023C2CDO 0xFFFFFFFFC0000185 0000000000000000 0 x 0 x 0000000000000000)

I don't mind erase the hard drive and leave, there's nothing on what is essential. Very, very well, I'd appreciate a steer on it. Checked the Web for things and nothing seems to help for other options. I'm not particularly tech literate but can follow directions.

    Thanks in advance.

It is really possible that the HARD drive is faulty.
If possible try to get another same HDD used for test purposes and install OS using the Toshiba recovery image.

A friend of mine had a similar problem and after Exchange of HARD drive, everything went well again.

  • Satellite A500/026 No connection using LAN

My Toshiba Satellite A500/026 is about a month and today I finally had the time to try to connect to the Internet. However, to plug the ethernet cable from my modem to the laptop, there is no Internet connection.

I tried to connect the same cable on my Satellite Pro A300 and all right. If I'm missing something on my A500?

    Hello

Are you sure that the internet connection is not blocked by a firewall or other security that is installed on your system software?
    Check it!

In addition, you must check if the network card is working properly.
The LAN driver must be installed and you should not see any yellow exclamation in device-> network cards Manager.

  • Blue Screen of Death and no XP CD - Satellite M70

    Hello.

I have a Toshiba Satellite M70 that displays the blue screen of death at startup. It reads an error 0x000000ED reporting an error unmountable as the specific problem.

Unfortunately, I have no CD of Windows XP to restore my computer. I have the Toshiba product recovery CD, but that seems like it will just format my computer, and I have important data, I want to absolutely not delete from my hard drive.

I can't start in safe mode; Blue screen of death appears immediately at startup. If I try to pass int F8, advanced options, but after you have selected the system restore, it goes back to BSOD. I also tried to burn an ISO to the recovery file and the computer entered the Windows installation, but hangs on "Setup starts Windows.

Any idea what the problem might be? And how can I solve this problem without deleting any info on my computer?

    THX.

    Hello

The HARD drive can be removed very easily. It s placed at the bottom of the unit and you have to delete only one screw to remove the plastic cover that holds the HARD drive Bay.

I think it's a better solution than you could connect to another computer via the external USB HDD controller.

If you want to use a Toshiba Recovery CD then you must choose the advanced option which would allows you to choose the partition where the operating system would be installed.
And this partition will be formatted

So in this case you would also lose some files from the HARD drive

I'm not sure about BartPE just google for more details

Maybe someone has the same? Can be any solution to this problem? I think because of the laptop is a new... maybe there's sth with RAM?

    Hello clotidle

Well, it very difficult to tell what the problem is.
I don t think that the BIOS is wrong because as a wrong
The BIOS update procedure has damage to the motherboard and it is not possible to run or start anything.

    Sorry I n t have a proper answer.
In my opinion, you should contact Toshiba service partner because I don t think that you will solve this problem yourself.

PS: You can downgrade the BIOS t.
Only the AEP has a possibility to do so.

    Good bye

What OS are you using and what 3rd party programs have installed you?
