Re: Satellite L30 Power problem

Hi all

I am a repairer of computer in Australia and I have a laptop satellite L30 customers. The cable between the motherboard and the DC IN port broke with the solder, and I need to buy a new. Does anyone know where I can get one or how it's called so I can look for one on the net.

Thank you

Hello

In my opinion, it is a special part for laptop (L30) and I think that you could buy it only of the ASP in your country
The partner of service authorized in your country should be able to help, and in the worst case (if this part is not available) they could order from Toshiba doll.

Welcome them

  • With Satellite A30 power problems

    Hello

Over the last four years, I have been using a Satellite A30 with XP Pro... had no problems whats so ever until that last months... I started to notice the battery life becomes lower before (prob because of the decrease in battery life) but also when he is on the grid it will charge the battery to 100% but instead of power are removed from the sector It starts to drain the battery even when the sector is connected.

Another problem is that I have to keep or stop the laptop goes into hibernation mode so it can recognize it is powered from the battery to load... even in this case, it may take several attempts for the laptop to begin to charge the battery...

These problems started start after warranty, and was released in additional insurance coverage

Any information or help gladly appreciate it that I fight to get assignments done University

    Thank you

    Ben

    Hi mate,

had a similar problem with an other friend A30. After sending the machine to an ASP (certified partner), they told us that the internal charger was defective and they have offered to swap the motherboard.
But given that the motherboard was really expensive for him he sold the machine on Ebay and bought and Satellite A200 which is a machine really well.

I guess that the motherboard is gone...

    That's all

    See you soon

  • Satellite P10 power problem

    Satellite P10-317

    * Symptoms *:

External DC LED stays on, but battery LED turns OFF (from green or orange) and laptop running on battery power only (Toshiba Power Management panel says that it has external DC AND the battery runs down). Disconnect and reconnect external DC does not cure but put into hibernation and resume the battery LED lights up again and he fled the external domain controller. If no battery is not connected, laptop just dies. Unfortunately, the problem is very intermittent. The battery is new and normally charges/discharges.

    * Diagnosis * (tentative): the DC regulator on board is dying

    * Question *: does anyone have the circuit diagrams? (anyone else seen this problem & what is the cure?)

    Thank you

    Julian

    Hello

AFAIK this diagram is part of the maintenance manuals and is not a public document. Because of that I am quite skeptical that someone can help you with it. You can try to contact the nearest authorized service provider. They have these documents, and perhaps they are ready to help you.

  • Satellite A500 - power problems while game

I was wondering if Satellite A500 users have had the same problem as me. I got my laptop to 10 months and for the last 2 months I get really bad heating problems with my laptop. I have tried everything to clean the laptop with a can to purchase under product cooling fan air to try to stop the tap from the bottom during the game but no luck.

I want to come to a point were I think that its time to back the laptop to toshiba and ask for a replacement or a new laptop as after spending nearly £700 for laptop Gamers its just not up to scratch.

Any help would be most appreciated that I get at the end of my patience with her. Now stop playing Aliens Vs Predators live x 11 and the Lord of the Rings Online and Supreme Commander 2, name a few.

Also, I was watching a DVD using the HDMI port and it did for me then also.

    Help, please.

    Hi HellspwanUK,

So if your laptop stops all at stake, it would be interesting to know what OS you have installed what is driving display and you are using. This behavior is typical if you use nVidia display drivers rather Toshiba display drivers. The nVidia drivers don't have protection against overheating and different thermal management. This means that your graphics card would go on the highest level, so it might be overheating and closed.
I would recommend most recent installation display driver official of Toshiba page for your model.

And have you cleaned your laptop as described here:
    http://forums.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com/forums/Ann.jspa?annID=40

In addition, I would also check the BIOS. Have you installed the latest version of the BIOS?

  • Satellite M30X - power problems

When the laptop is plugged in (with the battery) the LED on the show before it has AC power to the laptop and the battery is charging. As soon as I try to turn on the laptop, the battery light turns off and the power led lights up. However, he never stays, he sometimes makes as much as windows sometimes cut it during boot up.

I thought initially it was mabey a problem with the battery. So I tried out the battery and power on. The green light is stays on showing that the laptop has AC power but the light power light just and then turns off again immediately. It is not a battery because the laptop should still work without it.

Then I thought it must be something to do with the power adapter. But the green light on the front shows that it is powered okay and, apparently, the battery recharges. I also tried to check the power cablw with a meter, and he showed that he is a 19V output (exact, the power supply).

So the battery is ok the power supply is ok... so where else could the problem be?

    Hello

There would be something wrong with the electronic power supply.
In this case, you should contact the ASP in your country
because he can check it out and starts a few diagnostic tests.

  • Satellite P10 power problems

My P10 is just over a year and has developed feeding problems. It does not seem to register on drums (Iget the a/c light green, orange for the battery) and it won't let me turn it on. Leave it plugged to charge doesn't seem to help. It is intermittent, because it then allows himself to be put on sometimes but will turns off completely at random and then go 12 rounds insertingand uninserting the battery and the son of a/c. Any suggestions?

    Hello

Unplug the unit and remove the battery for a few minutes. Put it back inside, plug in the AC adapter and try restarting the device.

  • Satellite L30-106: Power Saver 0x7E error

    Hi all
I own a Toshiba Satellite L30-106. I got it from Windows Vista to Windows XP pro, I installed all the Xp drivers provided by the Toshiba site.

Everything is going well except for the Toshiba Power Saver utility, I can't install it, it still gives this error: error Power Saver 0x7E. Same thing happens when I want to uninstall it. How can I solve this problem?
    Thanks in advance

    Hello

I hope that you have installed the power saver right!
The laptop is one of the series PSL33E. Therefore, you should choose the drivers and tools for this series!

In addition it is very important to install the driver Toshiba and utilities in the right order!
Then open the installation instructions and follow the lines of this guide!

Please make sure that you have already installed "TOSHIBA common Modules or / and TOSHIBA Hotkey Utility" ahead!

  • Re: Need Satellite L30 - 105 Vista - power calibration error - new firmware

    Hey guys =)

Ive got a Satellite L30-105 running a Vista 32 bit. And even if I try several different (Imageburn, Nero) burning software, and with the TDK - CD, I get an error in the burning software, saying "power calibration error".

    Satellite L30 - 105 (item number PSL33E-02S026N5), use a cd/dvd burner called MAST * a DVD-RAM UJ-850 s

I wonder, can I download and install new drivers for my dvd player?

I will also try to buy this "cleaning-cd", to try to clean the lens. cause I bought the laptop in 2007... then her grandmother as...

But you guys don't have any what could be bad? Is it expensive to get a new cd/dvd drive for this laptop?

    Bravo and thank you!

    Hello

Power calibration error means that the laser ODD lens cannot calibrate in the right position.
Generally this has nothing to do with a firmware of drive but with the problem of equipment.

In most cases, the CD/DVD drive must be replaced.

I'm not sure how a new CD/DVD drive could be but the fact is that you cannot use any CD/DVD drive
You need a compatible and such disc compatible and taken in charge could be ordered in a local ASP.

    welcome them

  • Satellite L30-101 power up used

I have a L30-101 which has unstable power supply problem.

Sometimes it will start without effort. Once I press the power button, load cookies and wifi will be off and the power light will flash briefly, after that a few seconds, the load and wifi lights will be rekindled and I can try again. Finally, if it is not started, the light goes off and that's all.

another time if I push the button for a few seconds, it will start or freeze as noted above.

To try again, the only way is to remove the (new) battery and the power cable.

Also, I tried to hold the power button down for 30 seconds with the battery cables and power removed as a forum sudgested it discharging the capacitors on the motherboard. Sometimes, it works. Sometimes it doesn't.

If I have apart and put back together, it works. (but that's a bit excessive. So unless he can sprout wings very quickly, it's life may be limited).

All these answers are the same whether on the supply cable, battery only or both.

    I'm starting to loose patience...

Your described problems looks like a motherboard failure.
I have no other explanation for that matter.

I mean it s not a problem of battery from the laptop must turn on correctly just connected to the AC adapter only.

I put t think the related issue of RAM because in this case the laptop must turn on not even for a second or the system freezes after widows started upward.

Satellite L30 is slightly older unit so it can be possible to this motherboard is the troublemaker.

  • Toll-free indicated what power disconnected from the Satellite L30-134

I don't know it this the appropriate category, because I'm not sure of the source of the problem.

    Okay, here it is:
    I have Toshiba Satellite L30-134.

Normally, when I unplug the cable of the AC adapter, 2 things happen:
1 ATP icon shows that the current generator is the battery, and it shows invoiced % and about working time remaining before the battery is empty.

    2. the power management becomes more energy saving settings, and implementation Hibernate just until the battery is completely down.

Well... Last few days things have changed:

Now, when I unplug the power cable, the system does not recognize this and she continues to display: ' course Power Source: AC Power ', for the remaining capacity of the displays: "S/o" and the system is not hibernate, because he does not feel the difference.
I'm not sure that this has something in common, buy, I found that the UPS SERVICE has been stopped, I tried to start it manually, but there is ERROR 2481: the UPS service is not configured correctly.
    Need help, please :-)
OS: Windows XP, automatic updates, I did not notice if this happen after installation or any other measure of speciffic, I did...

    > Normally, when I unplug the cable of the AC adapter, 2 things happen:
    > 1. ATP icon shows the current generator is the battery, and it shows invoiced % and about working time remaining before the battery is empty.
    > 2. Power management becomes more energy saving settings, and implementation Hibernate just until the battery is completely.

This process is correct. After disconnecting the AC adapter the laptop switches to the battery power and uses the Toshiba power saver mode the power created for the use of the battery.

    > Now, when I unplug the power cable, the system does not recognize this and she continues to display: ' course Power Source: AC Power ', for the remaining capacity of the displays: "S/o" and the system is not hibernate, because he does not feel the difference.
    > I don't know he has something in common, buy, I found that the UPS SERVICE has been stopped, I tried to start it manually, but there is ERROR 2481: the UPS service is not configured correctly.

Well the ups (uninterruptible power supply) service could be responsible for this problem!
If you are not able to start it manually, then it might be a problem with OS software.
I studied a bit and found this article in the Microsoft Knowledge base about this problem.

+ Cannot start the UPS Service.

  • Satellite L30: Watch DVD problem - slowly and the sound is distorted

    Hello!
I have a Toshiba laptop Satellite L30-115. I use WinDVD preinstalled to watch DVD. everything was fine until yesterday. Since then, my DVD drive seems to have problems with playback of DVD movies (original).

It's a little slower that should be, and the sound is a bit distorted. The same DVD my laptop no problems to play now, it seems impossible to play properly.

I tried system recovery to date, everything was good, but that did not help.

Everything's fine, when I play movies from my hard drive, but apparently my DVD Player cannot play fair.
I tried various combinations (turn on/off digital playback in Device Manager), but nothing seems to work.

    No idea how to fix?

First of all, give it a try with cleaning the lens of your DVD player. Several times a lens dirty or CD/DVD that makes impossible to correct read causing delays.
Because the movies read from the HARD disk correctly, it does not seem to be a related problem of codec, but... you should still try to use other DVD player software to ensure that WinDVD is not the source.

I suggest you also to keep longer, to install software of reduction of CD speed during normal use of all the days of the life of your drive. As you know, the disc spins a lot faster than actually required inside the car which complicates the procedure for reading (especially on the scratched CD) and consumes more energy, too.

Reduce speed solves problems like the one you have several times. Here is a link to the Version of acoustic silencer of TOSHIBA 1.00.008 (from page of the pilot satellite L30), give it a try:

    http://support.toshiba-tro.de/tools/satellite/sl30psl33/XP/acoustic-silencer/acsil-PSL33-XP-100008-en.zip
(This software runs independent you have European/American version of laptop L30, even on a different model as Satellite Pro 6100 a.s.o..)

    Kind regards
    chain

  • Power on the Satellite Pro 3000 problem

Wives Satellite S3000 has developed what appears to be a power problem

Last night it started indicating that he doesn't have the power of the DC input... This seemed to be a fault of internittent stirring casued DC input light to return cable. Taking the DC Jack off main cable, I discovered that one of the two pins was broken.

Is out today and bought a new 5.5mm/2.5mm DC Jack and reconnected thinking that everything would be OK... but there is no response from the laptop... the DC input light does not come on and neither does the indicator "charging battery".

A multimeter indicates there is 19v DC decision-making.

It seems to me that there may be an internal power problem. Otherwise there may be a problem with the power with respect to the current delivery.

A battery totally buggered may this "non-response"? I expect the laptop to operate on DC power regardless of the internal State and secondary battery.

Ideas appreciated... will see if I can alternative power source and try it before resorting to delve into the bowels of the thing!

    Thank you

    Hello

    > A battery totally buggered may this "non-response"? I expect the laptop to operate on DC power regardless of the internal State and secondary battery.

The laptop should run without battery. If the adapter is ok and if it was connected to the laptop, then it should be possible to start the machine.

If the laptop does not start, then it must be a hardware problem.
But believe me; It's not easy to say what exactly is the problem.

Maybe you bought only a bad power adapter that is not compatible with the Sat Pro 3000?
Or maybe there is something wrong with the electronic power supply on the motherboard?
Who knows?  :| Only the technician who checked the laptop can provide an exact error diagnostic.

  • Satellite 1410 - power on problem

    Hallo,
I have some problems with my Satellite 1410 303.
After the stop, without disconnecting the power supply, if I try to put the laptop by pressing the button start the laptop does not start and the orange green power led indicator lights up, indicating a power problem.
This problem appears after updating bios and Windos XP Service Pack 2.
    Can someone help me, please?
    Thanks
    Andrea

    Hi Andrea

The first thing you can try is to remove the battery for a short period and try to start Notepad without power supply.
It will also be interesting to know if the laptop turns on without battery with power running. There is the problem after that, is it possible that power supply microcontroller don t work properly.

If the orange flashing is not constant it may flash code.

  • Problems with Satellite L30-149

I recently reinstalled Windows Xp with SP3 on my Toshiba Satellite L30-149. When looking for audio drivers, I found a via
Toshiba support. I was clear Notebook--> Equium L Series--> PSL35E (the only option)--> Windows XP.
I installed this driver without error and now I sound down in the right corner of the desktop.

If it must be installed correctly, but I get no sound from speakers or headphones. I looked at
further discussion and it seems that many people have similar problems. I tried to install the driver for Vista, but it
did not work (worked for somebody else, good...).

    Thanks for your help!

    Best regards

    Fredrik

    > So it must be installed correctly, but I get no sound from speakers or headphones
First of all, you must check whether the sound card is correct and if there is no yellow exclamation point in Device Manager

If the sound card will display correctly without any exclamation point means that the driver has been installed ok.

In the next step, you should check the volume control.
Go to control panel of-> sound-> playback and check volume control settings unique should be set at a higher level.
In addition, check if mute is not activated!
