  • Satellite L100 113 starts slowly after upgrade memory

    Hello

Toshiba Satellite L100 113 PSLA3E-02401JRU starts slowly after upgrade memory with Kingston KTT533D2-512 (512 MB) of memory.
When I press the 'power' button, it flashes, starts the fans and HARD drive several times. Then it shows BIOS start messages by memory full 768 MB and starts Windows XP without a problem.
This behavior is noticed only after "shut down."
It does not happen with "restart".
What can I do to eliminate this long "attempts" to start my laptop computer?

    Thank you
    Novomir Kovalenko

    Hello

This problem appears before upgrade memory?
Have you used exactly the same memory modules?
If this isn't the case, then perhaps there are a few compatibility issues.

Usually, after the insertion of the modules you must enter the BIOS and then save the settings. Please it and eventually the laptop will start without any problems.

  • Re: Satellite L500 - keyboard starts typing Giberrish

    Hello

I was wondering if anyone can help. I recently bought a Satellite L500 and the keyboard is giving problems. Once every two days or three he starts typing giberrish - IE I type L it will type another letter and so forth--and it only resolves the problem by reset.

Any idea what can cause this problem or how it can be fixed? Its a whole new machine, so I am surprised by the problem?

    Thank you very much
    Partha

    Hi Partha,

    > Its a whole new machine, so I am surprised by the problem?
That makes no difference. These or other problems can still happen that even the laptop is a few days old.

Regarding your problem: have you checked the keyboard input language? I put t know what language you want to use, but I recommend to remove all other languages.
Start > Control Panel > regional and Language Options > language > details

In the worst case if it would be a hardware problem, you should get a new keyboard for free guaranteed due authorized service.

The owners of any Satellite L500 there able to give accurate information? would be appreciated. I could do with the knowledge before you buy one.

Yes, the L500 can boot from USB Flash Drives. I believe that all 2008-2009 Toshiba laptops can boot from USB :)

  • Satellite P750-13N starts slowly

    Hello

I bought a new computer for my birthday earlier in the month. I installed all my software and transferred all my data from my old laptop and I noticed after a week or so that the start-up is time consuming.

Basically, once that windows loads, theres a circle over the wireless icon and it seems to take ages to locate my wireless network. I try to load firefox, but it dosnt open for at least 5 minutes, and nothing responds for about 4 or 5 minutes.

I tried to do a clean boot, and although it seemed better, I can't seem to locate the problem. I uninstalled AVG and tried to uninstall most of the bloatware without success. If I do a clean install, it will be the second time I did and I really don't want to go that route.

Can someone tell what could be wrong with my laptop.

    Hello

Your laptop starts slowly because your system loads a lot of junk at the beginning.
First of all, I recommend turning off some process that would be loaded while the laptop starts.

Launch msconfig (in the search type msconfig) and go to the Startup tab.

Now you can uncheck certain processes is not necessary.
I would like to disable all Apple processes... they don t had to be loaded at the beginning

    + C:\Program Files (x 86) \Common Files\Apple\Apple Application Support\distnoted.exe +
    + C:\Program Files (x 86) \Common Files\Apple\Apple Application Support\APSDaemon.exe +
    + C:\Program Files (x86)\iTunes\iTunesHelper.exe+
    + C:\Program Files (x 86) \Common Files\Apple\Internet Services\ubd.exe +.
    + C:\Program Files (x 86) \Common Files\Apple\Internet Services\iCloudServices.exe +.

    Also turn off steam.exe

After restarting again uncontrolled processes should not be loaded

As a download after the CCLeaner, install this and clean the system and the registry using this tool.

  • Satellite L500-14Z starts to beep when it reaches 10% of battery

    Greetings,

As I installed the sound card driver on my laptop, it always starts to beep when it reaches 10% battery in every 10 seconds. It is not a voice of Windows, but I tried to look for the sound controls and even the BIOS to disable this thing. It may be useful in some cases, but I really want to get rid of him or to use only if the screen is off and I do not see the level of battery charge.

Overall, the question is, how do I disable or control the sound signal after the 10% battery level without uninstall the Realtek audio driver?

    Yours Sincerely,

    Fifty

    Hello

    You can disable it in:
Start > Control Panel > Sound

There, click the sounds tab in sound properties

Choose in the small window called sound and critical battery alarm choose no sound.

Apply the changes and restart the laptop.

If I select advanced options, I am asked to choose a key board but then I get a message that says that you must login to access repair features and everything I can do then is to restart.

If I press F8 and try safe mode I just get the same functionality of repair. I don't know what to do to proceed as the options take me to the same place. Any help would be appreciated
    Thank you

When you press F8 at startup until you see the option to fix my computer?

    You created the recovery DVDs?

  • Re: Satellite L500 - 19 X - start the Webcam with Windows application

I lost my webcam on the Desktop Application.

Can I bring back by accessing the Web camera Application / Program (86) / Toshiba / Web camera Application and clicking on the Web Camera Application .exe. But it do not reappear when I boot. I have the Auto Run has ticked.

    My laptop is the Satellite L500 - 19 X, Windows 7
    Thanks for any help.

    Hey William,

Normally in the webcam software you choose whether the application should be started with Windows or not.
    Did you check that?

In addition, you should check it in msconfig (start > run > msconfig). There you can find a list of all the programs that start up with Windows. Make sure that the software of the webcam is not disabled.

In the worst cases, you need to reinstall the software, but it only takes a few minutes. ;)

  • Satellite L500-F19 is started due to failed HARD drive recovery process

    Hello

I have a Toshiba Satellite L500-F19 and recently started having a bad performance in the GUI, and also began to close on its own.

To try to solve the problem, I used the sistem of HARD drive recovery by pressing F8 in the boothing process.
What is happening is that this process is not and and now my laptop does not even start!
    What can I do?

I have a windows repair disc, but it was made only a few days ago and this pc is in my possetion for 3 years now.
Is there a way I can recover my sistem in the original?

    Thank you
    João

Yes, you can get it back to factory settings. You can only do so in a way: you must use the recovery DVDs. Have you created this disk?

Please don t mix Windows repair disk and recovery disk. For now you can not repair anything. What you need to do is clean installation of image recovery.

  • Satellite L500 becomes too hot - fan starts at boot only!

My Satellite L500 overheats and stops without warning. I first thought that the fan is defect because it won't start unter SP2 of Vista, but when I reboot it works then on BIOS level.

But as soon as Vista takes over during initialization the fan stops. I tried Speedfan but it is somehow not able to start the fan. he reads only the different temperatures, the fan speed.

I don't know, but maybe this problem occurred after I've upgraded to Vista SP 2 two months ago who was not released by Toshiba. It seems that this will happen by Toshiba more but that's another question.

The laptop is almost 2 years and come with Vista SP1.
The only thing on the side of software is always upgrading the BIOS, there seems to be a newer version of May 2011.

I cleaned the intake with a vacuum cleaner, but the main problem is probably not dust, but the fan does not start. Someone an idea how I can start? Can be a software or a setting somewhere in Windows?

    > I don't know but maybe this problem occurred after I've upgraded to Vista SP 2 two months ago who was not released by Toshiba. It seems that this will happen by Toshiba more but that's another question.

Are you talking about Vista Service Pack 2?
Service Packs for Windows operating systems are released by Microsoft and not the laptop manufacturers. ;) Release of the laptop manufacturers only the drivers own for portable devices unique ;)

    > The only thing on the side of software is always upgrading the BIOS, there seems to be a newer version of May 2011.
So you would update of the BIOS?
    If not try this

What the installation of Win 7? Have you checked if the fans would be running using Win 7 on this laptop? I think it's a test

  • Satellite L500 - white screen. No attempt to start until the key.

It is a Satellite L500, which was submitted to a process of recovery. The battery is as flat as possible and does not load.

Turn on the laptop and the normal BIOS information is displayed with the option to press F2 or F12 at the bottom of the screen. The BIOS is configured to boot from the HARD drive first.

Left to do his own thing, the screen turns off and nothing happens. A press any and there is no prompt text to touch anything, and the system begins to boot from the HARD drive. She proceeds to start successfully and the laptop runs normally (bar the old battery).

I have reset the default BIOS and there is nothing, I see that it would otherwise cause.

    Any ideas?

    Hello

Maybe it sounds silly now, but it is not easy to understand exactly what is happening.
    > Left to do his own thing, the screen turns off and nothing happens.
All this occur after the installation of image recovery and first start after the installation of recovery successfully? Or pre-installed OS is already configured and ready for first start?
    >.. and the system begins to boot from the HARD drive
You see nothing n the screen when this happens?
    > he proceeds to start successfully and the laptop runs normally (bar the old battery).
After reading this sentence I presume boots OS OK and you can use your laptop. Can you confirm this?

When you restart the operating system the same occurs again and again?

Have you tried to reinstall the recovery still image?

  • Satellite L500-1ek - installation system always starts with 800 x 600

I have the Satellite L500-1ek new laptop with Windows 7.

Regardless of the screen resolution still set the system starts with 800 x 600. And not only after reboot but even when I logout my profile and connect again.
Learn more: I also use external monitor. I have the mirror of my laptop computer on the monitor screen or only the display on a monitor, but whatever I have I cannot have extended screen.

When I try to put in place I'm simply ignored by the driver.

So I tried to install the latest driver. I downloaded it from the Toshiba site but it installed never tell me that my system did not meet the minimum requirements.
    What to do now?

    Marek

    Hello

For me, it looks like you used the incompatible graphics driver.
Have you noticed this problem using the OS preinstalled Toshiba?

AFAIK you unit was equipped with the INTEL GL40 graphics chip.
Have you tried the driver from the Intel page as well?

    Check it!

  • Satellite L500 starts, allows me to connect, and then the screen goes black

I just bought a new Toshiba Satellite L500.

As I am a student in high school, it was a huge and very expensive purchase for me.
I previously had a Toshiba that served me extremely well, so I was ready to buy a new one, but now I have a problem with it.
I have a L5000 with operating system Windows 7 Professional.

Notepad starts end, showing the Welcome screen and allowing me to enter my password, but once the password is accepted, and disappears from the Welcome screen, I find myself with a black screen showing only my mouse pointer.

If I enter CTRL + ALT + DELETE, the Task Manager becomes visible, but I don't see nothing else UNLESS I select 'explorer' under the processes tab and end process, then re-run the Explorer - then only the home screen becomes visible.

It's a new laptop - Needless to say I don't want to have to do this every time I turn it on. I should try to restore factory default?
I'm usually very proficient with computers, but I don't have enough faith to tinker with it.

    Can anyone help?

    Hi Korosuhito,
It sounds like an infection or a misconfiguration.

You can try to start in safe mode and search for services that run maybe you can find the "bad guy".

or (the fastest) is to restore the factory settings
Make sure the bios is on the 'default' as well

I think that you have no personal data on this machine in order to recovery is the most simple and quick way!

If the error after recovery occours made back to your dealer and get another
