Hello

Maybe you should use the CD with Win XP SP2 and you must include the storage Manger Intel SATA drivers.

Usually if the SATA driver and SP2 do not have were included, then you will not be able to reinstall Win XP.

    Hello

Start-up of facilities you have to load the SATA driver. I think that your laptop has a Chipset Mobile Intel® GL960 Express with code CrestlineGM + ICH8-M name.

When WXP facilities charge ICH8 SATA driver. You can find it under http://support1.toshiba-tro.de/tedd-files2/0/stormng-20070827133046.zip

    Hello.

I have the Satellite Pro A100 (PSAAC) "PSAACE - 00200DG 3"with Windows XP."
I recently formatted my hard drive and run my Toshiba Recovery CD. Everything worked very well. As I downloaded the latest drivers for my computer including the Toshiba Virtual Sound drivers. After I deleted the old Virtual Sound driver and started installing new version of same message appears "Toshiba Virtual Sound can't stand your computer."
Then I tried to install a later version of the same thing that was on the recovery CD and I would get the same message again. Moreover, after any new installation of Windows XP, Virtual Sound works OK. Please someone had the same problem and could you give me a solution.

    Thank you!!!

Have you downloaded the right version? I mean the version for your model of laptop (PSAAC)?

  • Satellite Pro A300: Problem with Microsoft Security Essentials

    Hello

I have a Toshiba Satellite Pro A300 with XP SP3 and now deleted AVG Free and installed Microsoft Security Essentialls (MSE).

The result is after installing MSE and begin my laptop cursor is stuck in the center of the screen and will not respond to the inputs of the mouse or the keyboard.

In aid of F12 to get my startup options allowed me to try the Safe Mode and last known good Configuration etc but they all show the same functionality, IE freeze when the desktop appears. XP seems to be operating in the background, for example system clock stays on time, "notice" system if its wifi singal is removed etc.

Just to make the day to try to do an OS reinstall pressing 0 to on has no effect - system just boots in XP - so I can't my recovery partition!

I have now is not a HW problem as the /kbd cursor works if I boot into a non-windows system, for example UBUNTU CD

Any suggestions welcome - such as can I download a recovery on antother PC CD and burn a recovery CD?

    Hello

I have no idea what happened after installing Microsoft Security Essentials, but it seems that you are not able to access the files on the HARD drive
I think you need to reinstall the operating system using HARD drive recovery.
    http://forums.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com/forums/Ann.jspa?annID=58

But this would format the system partition :(

In order to save the files from the HARD drive, I recommend using / boot from a bootable floppy from Win PE.
Win PE (also called BartPE) is a thin window OS that is bootable CD and don t need to be installed on the HARD drive.

    Drive recovery questions.
When I made the recovery discs using Toshiba Recovery Media Creator proposed programme marking the first discs of rare as Recovery Disk 1, 2 and so on. I guess that these disks are my backup of user data. Yes/No?

The last disc was called Windows Recovery 64-bit environment. This is the factory default backup & must be installed first?
Is it transfer the recovery Partition and install Windows on the new drive?

    Thank you

    GJL.

Now when you need to swap the HARD drive I recommend exchanging it with SSD. It costs a little more but believe me laptop s performance will be much better. I ve made the m even and I so happy.
Laptop starts faster and much better work.

Disk recovery image is the original recovery image back-up and has nothing to do with your own settings.
When you install portable aura of factory again and it will be the same situation when you started your laptop for the first time.
In my opinion, avoid any problem created using drives with new HARD drive. In general there is no limitation and you can use different hard drives.

In any case, think about SSD.

  • Satellite Pro T130 - problems in sleep mode after you install the update wireless

After installing the 3G modem & updates on day of Wireless manager from 29 September, my laptop began to have trouble waking sleep mode. Most of the time I had to hard stop. I solved currently the changing options issued for the "sleep mode" in the Panel, for the most part by turning off the advanced features (hybrid sleep, sleep, sleep network adapters usb). However, I want to solve the problem no doubt, as the current options require more time to enter the mode 'sleep'.

My laptop is a Toshiba Satellite Pro T130 running under Windows 7 64-bit.

You have installed the updates recommended by Tempro?
You can send us you have installed versions?

I assume that with the old versions you didn t have this problem?

  • Toshiba Satellite Pro 4600 problems

Toshiba Satellite Pro 4600 is usually a large equipment once it works! I have bought in December 2001 + additional 2 year warranty. Used every day for a business purpose - mainly on a desk anchored to the Port Replicator or inside-out of the office with WiFi.

Almost after a year I bought it - one of the memory locations died on the motherboard! A machine still worked OK - only on a slot with installed memory capacity! So the 256 MB of memory and motherboard have been replaced by September 2002.

Then the hard drive was noise - has been replaced as a guarantee somewhere in October 2004. So I thought that it is her - I have now a few years without problem again!

Yes - all of a sudden a few days ago, I closed the lid for a coffee brake and after that the machine woke up to a strange sleep - the screen flickered and a machine was muzzy! Like the previous night failures that occurred before that I thought that this restart will solve the problem! It s woke up without the support of the voice! And after that I discovered that the WiFi card is always on - no matter if you switch the button on or off! If the service said that probably the motherboard has not once again!

So, which brand and model to buy then?

    > And after that I discovered that the WiFi card is always enabled.
    > - no matter switch you on or off! So that the
    > service provided that said probably the

same thing with my nine M30 I bought last summer. I can't be able to turn off the WiFi keyboard functionality. the light is still on too.

    Hello

When you make a dial-up connection, a standard telephone line transmits information. Note that a phone is not necessary just the line. When the line is used for telecommunications, the phone line busy for incoming calls. In most cases, digital telephone lines do not work with analog modems. You must have a standard (analog) phone line to transmit information.

In order to minimize interruptions, it is better to use a line that doesn't have a call on hold or multiple extensions. When a modem sharing a line with regular phones, it is important to inform people not to pick up the handset, while the modem is in use.

If someone picks up an extension, they will be greeted with a shout loud and the modem disconnects. Incoming calls on a call waiting system will also cause the modem disconnect. You can use the function call waiting to cancel to avoid this problem.

Another issue to consider is that some of the newer telephone systems are not compatible with standard modems. A school or professional phone that has a variety of features, such as call waiting, voicemail and call-one parking, maybe isn't compatible with a modem.

  • S-video on Satellite Pro A100 problem

Hi, I recently bought a new satellite pro a100 with XP pre-installed-one of my main reasons to choose this as the price was the built-in s-video connector so I can get my screen up on my tv. However, I have not yet got it working and you'd be grateful for all the assistance.

It is connected to my TV via a s-video cable, connected to an s-video/SCART adapter to work. Nothing is display on the screen and in the ATI displays the setting, control panel is the only option that is imparted to me. The other 2, including television are grayed out.

Maybe something needs to be configured, but I have not found information of any use yet.

    Thank you

    Marcus

    Hello

As far as I know avoid any problems if you want to connect the laptop to the TV. After connecting, please use the FN + F5 key combination and get on TV.

It can happen that picture will be black and white, but it is because S-video in on television port is not enabled.

  • Satellite Pro 6100 - problem starting (light flashing Orange)

On my laptop Satellite Pro 6100, seeing DC IN (first on the left) flashes orange and the laptop does nothing else (no display or sound). The light flashes for 8 times, has a long pause and then starts all over again.

I tried a different adapter with no joy. It does the same thing if you use only the battery and if you run from the adapter without the battery.

The only time wherever it shows a different light is when you take the battery out, put back in and hold the power button. Led Slim Select Bay (second right) briefly turns green, but it turns off and the led DC IN resumption of the orange blink.

It seems likely that it is an internal hardware problem (power supply, motherboard, etc.). Does anyone have any ideas? And as anyone knows anywhere which lists all the different orange light codes for Toshiba laptops?

    Hi André,.

You are right in thinking that there is a hardware failure (most likely your motherboard). Flashing codes are used by service technicians to indicate the nature of the fault and I have yet to find anywhere who publishes the real meaning of these codes.

I think it looks like a trip to the nearest Service Agent. :-(

  • Shutdown on Satellite Pro A300 problem

I flashed the Bios with the latest version, did not help my problem.
After stopping the machine down, the slot voltage stays on, even if the disks hard etc. are off.

If you hold down the power button on this point, the machine turns off completely, then you can start again.

Also, when the machine is turned on, the power button is strangely.
Sometimes a single press stops the machine, sometimes it restarts. Sometimes, he won't do anything

Someone at - it an idea of that which is the cause, now that an update of the bios did not fix.

    See you soon,.

    Hello

Looks like you would define the notebook in Hibernate or standby mode setting and would not shut down the Satellite Pro A300.

Please note that the closed button Vista default settings are set to sleep.
If you want to change the settings go to:
-Control Panel > Power Options > change Plan settings
    -Click on advanced settings
-Expand power buttons and lid. Then Expand the menu button start and change of sleep at the stop.

"If the laptop has been on standby mode it is possible happens that it wakes up automatically because of some options activated as alarm clock on keyboard ' and 'Battery critical WakeUp' or 'wake on LAN '.

  • Satellite Pro A100: Problem of posting Key

    Hello

Last summer, we bought twenty Satellite Pro A100 computer laptop for use in our school. In the last six months, we had several problems with keys off keyboard. It is a great disappointment as it was at my suggestion that buy us Toshiba laptops. Is it possible that we can get this situation corrected? I think that the best approach would be to transfer all the missing keys on a laptop and then put it back, but if this is going to be a constant problem in the loss of keys, then I would prefer that another solution is found.

I would appreciate an answer as soon as possible, because we are currently without the use of these machines.

    Thank you

    Hello Simon

I read this forum for a long time because I use Toshiba laptops. To be honest, your story is really amazing. To untie me key cannot be done without a current and pull them up. Each unique key is set with small plastic hooks. I use the keyboard on my Satellite M70 (older than your A100) every day and quite extensively, but the keyboard is still in good condition.

Please don't be crazy about me, but its use in school is also... How to say... in question. Are you sure that the students of your school correctly use laptops? In my opinion, you should contact the nearest authorized partner and attempt to clarify the situation.

  • Satellite Pro U300 problem of monitor/projector ext.

I shared the use of a Satellite Pro U300 and someone has messed with the settings I think. When connected to a projector and selecting Monitor 2 1 & 2 or just all get them is the default display of the blue projector. If I turn on monitor 2 what I get is an image of the desktop background but no program. What parameters are likely to have been messed up?

Option extend the desktop to this monitor in display settings is enabled?
If so, clear the check box and use the FN + F5 key combination to switch to projector only.
