Re-setup of Acrobat fails for allegedly bad serial number

Hello.

I have problems to re - install Acrobat 8 (CS3) on Windows 7 64 bit, the program supports a bad serial number. By mistake of course, since I use the original DVD. The story seems to be important.

History: I installed CS3 years, including Acrobat 8, and it went smoothly all the time. This is from the years, I've migrated to Windows 7, yet everything was fine.

Last week, I installed a trial version of FrameMaker 12; Creative cloud has been installed in addition, although I didn't want to. A few days later, I missed the Acrobat icon, the file "Acrobat 8.0" sought and found quite empty. And found a new folder "Acrobat 11.0" including the acrodist.exe but not 11 Acrobat.

To get it working again, I have re-installed Acrobat 8 to CS3 DVD. Worked okay, but enter the serial number (and pressing 'Activate') lead to a message "invalid serial number". What? How can this be?

Well, o.k. Acrobat 8 is not up-to-date, but I want to use my stuff. Anyone know what I can do?

Thank you

Guido

After all, I set myself:

I uninstalled Acrobat and re-installed (both through CS Installer). I thought, that should have been the same that repair, but obviously, it is not as easy.
