Re: Tecra A7 PTA71E - unknown device TOS1901

Hello

I have a Toshiba Tecra A7 PTA71E-07500VPT with Windows 7 Prof
I did a BIOS upgrade to A6, then I installed the Windows / Prof. SP1 PT.

Problem: When I open the Managment devices, I see one '? "other devices"and"!" hardware ID "unknown device".
ACPI\TOS1901
* TOS1901

Where can I find a solution?

Thanks in advance.

  • Tecra A7: Two unknown devices after installing the OS Win

    Hi all
Recently bought an A7 and was convinced all the preinstalled software Toshiba slowed things. Managed to fresh install windows, then use Toshiba Apps Installer to restore items that I really wanted to. Everything went well and the computer is about two times faster now. However, I have two following unknown devices:

    (1) device type: other devices
    Location: on Intel(r) 82801GBM (ICH7-M) LPC Interface Controller - 27 b 9
    Hardware ID: ACPI\IFX0102

    (2) device type: other devices
Places: On system compatible ACPI Microsoft
    Hardware ID: ACPI\TOS620A

I installed the latest Intel Chipset drivers and no luck. Perhaps one of them is the sound card (although I have installed the drivers as well) and one of them HARD drive Protection (that I have no intention of installing anyway).

If someone can confirm what they are it would be much appreciated.

    Kind regards
    Christin

    Hello

Installing drivers and utilities Toshiba should be made in the right order.
The chipset utility must be installed at the beginning and then the common modules.
You must use the form chipset the Toshiba site.

The Tecra M7 also supports the protection of the HARD drive. Normally you will find it at the last position under "Audio, video and game controllers" in Device Manager.

I found this document Toshiba how to identify an unknown device:

  • Satellite L300 - unknown device TOS1901

    Hello

I recently installed Windows 7 Home premium on my laptop.
In Control Panel, you will find the see "devices and printers".

In doing so, you will see the devices that are connected to the laptop. In my laptop (toshiba L300) icon there is a yellow throttle with one! I am in charge to install a driver for an 'unknown device '.

In doing so (by choosing the option "allow this solution) brings me a further. The wizzard does not find the drivers and I still don't have what is peripheral.

I found the unknown device by selecting 'Show hidden devices' in device management, so here it is:

The id of the hardware says:
    ACPI\TOS1901 TOS1901

changeinging the attribute or property (sorry guys, my version is Dutch and I don't know the correct English name) for "device name", he says:
    \device\00000048

    Anyone got any suggestions?

    Hello

Have you also checked the vendor and device ID in this device Device Manager? Select it and click Properties. Then you can check the ID on this site:
    http://www.PCIDatabase.com/

And what drivers you have installed exactly?

In my opinion, you should try to install the Toshiba Value added package. You can find it on the Toshiba driver download page.

  • Tecra M7 unknown device after installing Win XP

    Hello

    I have a Tecra M7 Tablet PC.

After installing Windows XP Tablet PC edition and all the drivers for the Toshiba Homepage there are 3 s "unknown device" in Device Manager.

I installed the Ethernet drivers, but I do not see the adapter to the source 'network '.

What can I do to fix this?

    MFG pizzaMAN

Since I n don't know what you mean devices I can't provide you with any information on the necessary drivers

You're talking about Ethernet driver you are meaning the LAN or WLan?
Usually the two cards (Wlan & Lan) should appear in devices-> network cards Manager
If there is an unknown device then it would mean that one of the pilots was not installed.

On the European driver Toshiba page, you will find two Intel LAN drivers.
    Check both!

I put t know what your laptop wireless network card is because the Tecra M7 has been equipped with various wireless network cards, but all the drivers (Intel, Atheros) are placed on the page and you should try it!

  • Tecra S2: HDD as unknown device on two of the three USB ports

    Hey again,
I thought then that I was here anyway I could ask this too.
The tecra S2 has 3 USB ports, they all work very well for my USB mouse and other small things like the wacom tablet...
But when I plug my external hard drive in two of them, it says that it is an unknown device...

    I think, but am not sure, that this might have something to do with something once, we had to do in school;
We had once set up a pilot for a small converted Converter a series (or parallel, cant he recall) cable to the usb port
(I have already uninstalled the drivers but nothing has changed)

    It's just a guess...

any idea on how to solve this little problem? : p

    Hello

You said external USB HDD appears as an unknown device on two of the three USB ports.
What appears if you connect the HARD drive to the USB port on third?
It appears as an unknown device or what?

The device usually appears as an unknown device in device because manager not installed device drivers.
I check the HARD disk for the drivers and try to install it again.

  • Tecra 9100: No sound and unknown device

I have the laptop above and have recently flattened and reinstalled Windows XP pro. I have no sound, I have a speaker in my sys tray, Device Manager detects the card Intel (r) 82801 CA/Cam AC'97 Audio Controller, after I installed the RealTek AC 97 drivers. I plugged in the headphones to make sure that this is not not the speakers who have blown. But still no sound. All volumes are turned upward and the volume on the front wheel is set in the middle. In sounds and audio in the Control Panel, all volumes are increasing and the speakers are set to portable stereo speakers.

    Any ideas?

I have a unknown devices in Device Manager States location is a system compatible ACPI Microsoft from what I see on Google it's something to do with the battery. Once again any ideas?

    Thank you

I know that your laptop. It s a Tecra 9100 and this laptop supports a Yamaha YMF753 - stereo 16-bit Sound Blaster Pro compatible sound card.

The problem is the XP SP1 or SP2. The audio driver of Yamaha does not support SP1.
Seems that you need to update the audio driver.

    Hello

ACPI-> Advanced Configuration and Power Interface
ACPI defines hardware and software interfaces that allow focus on the OS configuration and power management to enumerate and configure motherboard devices.
For example: ACPI is necessary for the standby and hibernation mode.

Now your question; the new BIOS has been updated and configured to using VISTA.
It seems that VISTA was not compatible with the previous version of BIOS because the ACPI interface. Now you can install Vista on the laptop, but it seems that you need a driver. Possibly new chipset driver version might help. But as you probably know, the drivers are not available at this time. Unfortunately
