Reactivate Windows 8 Pro on a new PC

Hi guys

One time, I bought a copy genuine windows 8 pro at my local dealer to install on my new computer.
In a few months I hope to upgrade the major components, including 2 are the processor and SSD HARD drive conversion.
example as follows:

Intel 2nd Gen i3 CPU Intel 3rd Gen i5 CPU.
WD Caviar Blue 250 GB drive HARD to Sandisk 128 GB SSD (keeping old HDD for games and programs)

My main concern I need reassurance with is:

How can I disable my copy of W8 Pro and then reactivate after made all the hardware changes.
Hope to hear from you all soon

Thank you

you change the motherboard as well? I upgraded my pc a few months back due to a fauly mobo, you need to reinstall that windows 8 will not let you change the important parts of your pc after that I reinstalled it just, I called microsoft and have reactivated it telephone service.

PS a SDS 128 fill up very quickly that windows uses 16gig and then define still more a side during hibernation system and restorations

You can not, for at least one (and two possible) reasons.

    1. it isn't clean if you want to have two computers, or you
you want to remove from the old computer and put it on the new. If
you want once, you can't do that - the rule is very clear: there
a copy (or a license) for each computer.

There is nothing new here. This is exactly the same rule that has been in
effect on all versions of Windows from at least with Windows 3.1.

    2. but even if you want it on a single and from uninstall
the old computer, you can't do it. It is because if it came with the
computer, it is an OEM version and the biggest drawback to he a
OEM version, is that its license it permanently binds to the first
It is installed on the computer. He can never legally be moved to another
computer, sold or assigned (except with the original computer).

  • How to transfer Windows 7 pro to my new laptop computer key

I've upgraded to Windows 7 Pro... almost a year or two ago. Now, I bought a new laptop and it has 7 Home premium: cannot find my original key to the pro version: How can I transfer the key pro 7 to my new laptop?

Here are four utilities, which can display your product keys if they are still there:
    Belarc Advisor: http://www.belarc.com/free_download.html
(He did a good job of providing a wealth of information.)

    Also: http://www.magicaljellybean.com/keyfinder.shtml
    and: http://www.nirsoft.net/utils/product_cd_key_viewer.html
and RockXP: http://www.majorgeeks.com/download4138.html which has additional features.

Make sure that Windows 7 Professional is no longer in use on the old machine.

If the license for Windows 7 Professional, you have access to is a retail version update or complete, you can use the product key and the Express upgrade to Windows 7 Edition Home Premium to Windows 7 Professional. First of all, check that the edition of Windows 7, you are upgrading is already enabled (if it isn't, you will encounter complications and that you might start all by performing a clean installation). Click Start, type Anytime Upgrade, click on the option enter a key, enter the key of Windows 7 Professional on demand, click Next, wait while checking the key, accept the license agreement, click on upgrade, wait while the software upgrades, (it may take 10 minutes or more depending on the if updates are required) your computer restarts automatically, after the reboot, Windows 7 will notify you updating the computer, the computer will restart once more automatically and will be completed the upgrade, a window will appear notifying the upgrade was successful and your computer is ready to use, click Close, you should be upgraded to Windows 7 Professional your files, programs and settings retained.

You may need to reactivate by phone:

Windows 7 Professional come preloaded on your old computer? If that were the case, you are unable to transfer it to the new computer. OEM licenses are tied to the computer on which they are preloaded.

  • EliteBook 8460p: loading Windows 7 Pro on a new Hard Drive

In a previous question, I said that I bought this laptop from a sales site to the auction and needed to put an OS on another hard drive because this laptop did not come with one.  I think the laptop is a laptop company because when I entered the serial number came with the operating system in business, but when I look under the battey product key it says Windows 7 Pro.  I don't for the recovery disc for Windows 7 Pro 64 bit, because that's what says the key.  Will I have problems if I try and do a clean install?  It is that I got a 250 GB drive of my broken hp mini that I jumped in the Elitebook and it started right up to WIN 10 - this is the BONE of my mini was running before he fell.  Then, I checked the WIN 10 is not triggered and I couldn't be active even with the broken mini product key. To make a long story short when I use the recovery disk to do a clean install, which I intend to do, the recovery disc will read the product key for the company (because I don't have that) or I'll be able to use the product key numbers which can be found on the label.  Thanks in advance for reading this and for taking the time to answer.

    Hello:

W7 Pro recovery disks, you ordered from HP for your laptop do not need a product key and will be automatically enabled after the installation of the software.

You can do a clean install without problem.

Windows will not turn on without a new product key when you put a hard drive on a PC and put it in another.

In other words, for W10 have enabled on your p 8460, you would have had a W10 product key that you do not.  The button upgrade W10 does not work from another PC has been updated to W10 using this key.

  • reinstalled Windows XP Pro on the new HARD disk, not invited to key code

My Dimension 9200 needed a new HARD drive. Ordered from Dell, installed HD then re-installed Windows XP Pro sp2. I forgot to unplug the media reader, so I had to reinstall it again to get HARD drive letter assignment as C. Added drivers in good condition and just download and install sp3 and all the necessary updates. Now, all that remains is to transfer all the files from the old HD.

Never, I was invited to the WinXP key code. I DO have the Dell OEM disc as well as the installation key code in the original Dell factory. I was wondering if anyone else had the same "problem". I checked under administrative tools and don't see anything that ask you "activation". The only thing that I went off and was invited to provide was the key code when I installed MS Office 2003. When I check in system properties, General, it shows that it is registered to me and some numbers with Dell OEM then more numbers, not the OS key code well.

Anyone can shed some light on this? Thank you

When you use a Dell OEM media on a Dell computer, it checks the BIOS to make sure that it is install on a Dell computer, then it will be activated automatically, using a generic OEM key.  As long as you have the sticker COST/License/Product Key, you have the right to run Windows on this computer.  That's pretty standard for OEM systems.

System properties still shows a 'code', not the actual key.  You can use Magic Jelly Bean to retrieve the key used to activate Windows, but the key, that he will return does not match your COA and cannot be used for manual activation.

  • Installation of Windows XP Pro on a new configuration of the motherboard. Installation locks a blue screen during the installation of devices. Assistance from ms said why, but not healing. Anyone know an answer?

My old motherboard gave the soul, and I have now installed a Gigabyte GA-880GM-UD2H with an AMD Phenom 6 processor and 4 GB of RAM.  The 2 HD is a Maxtor Sata 1 300 GB ones. One is divided into 2 equal partitions, the other has a single partition. During installation, it hangs at a blue screen during the "installing devices" and towards the end of the indicator. Removing everything except the essential, makes no difference.
With 0x0000000A IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL error message States. This rising on the MS, it indicates:-stop this message indicates that a kernel-mode process or driver tried to access a memory address in which he was not allowed to access. The most common cause of this error is a bad or corrupted pointer that refers to an incorrect location in the memory. A pointer is a variable used by a program to designate a block of memory. If the variable has an incorrect value, the program tries to access memory that it shouldn't. When this occurs in a user mode application, it generates an access violation. When it occurs in kernel mode, it generates a STOP 0x0000000A messages. If you encounter this error during the upgrade to a newer version of Windows, it could be caused by a device driver, system service, a virus scanner, or backup tool which is not compatible with the new version.

I start with new parts, except the DVD & HDs drive and with a start-up Virgin & installation process. I'm not upgraded to the BONE, that's the one I was using before the reconstruction. The supplier of components, suspected of defective parts and cooperated in the provision of a set of replacement of parts, but there is no change in the problem.

Can someone explain what I can do to start?   Thank you!

I thought that the new license windows 8 would take the place of the old 7 oem?

Well, it does, but you are moving elsewhere, but you cannot benefit from rights eligible OEM Windows 7 license to another machine, because the OEM for Windows 7 license was already tied to the first machine that it has been installed on.

The machine that you transfer the Windows 8 license must have a previous qualification license (XP, Vista, Windows 7, or even Windows 7).

The OEM of Windows 7 versions are identical to the versions commercial full license with the following exception:

-OEM versions don't offer any free direct support from Microsoft technical support Microsoft

-OEM Licenses are tied to the computer first you install and activate it on

-OEM versions allow all hardware upgrades except for an upgrade to a different model motherboard
