Read/write rules: generics & Tags FM identifiers

I've seen this question answered in one of the guides dev but I can't find him.

My question is if it's legal in read/write rules to designate different generic identifiers on the same FM/element tag.

For example:

"body' element is fm"paragraph. "

element 'preface' is fm "paragraph."

Thank you!

Each structured document fm does need an earlier XML document?

N ° it depends on the application. In my case, I create the user using FrameMaker structured manuals. Our editorial team created a DSP that does what we want and need to do. We do not export or save FrameMaker files structured in XML. However, we could if necessary, for example, to create versions in HTML for display in a browser. This application works for our needs.

I have only one application in which I start with XML. When I create a spare parts catalog, the information in the part are exported from a database in XML format. The structure of this XML file is determined by the database; It does not match the structure design in my EDD. But I use an XSL transformation to convert the XML elements in a structure that is valid with respect to my EDD. Again, this depends on your application.

Some people export their FrameMaker files structured to XML. Maybe they want to do something else with the content that requires it to be in XML format. Or they can use XML for storage, because the XML files are smaller than the FrameMaker files. Then, when they open the XML files in FrameMaker, they are imported into its own model, which cleans the substitutions and no junk which may have accumulated in the FrameMaker files.

If your goal is to convert the unstructured files structured FrameMaker files, then I suggest focusing on the development of ESD that works for your needs. Export to XML may come later if you need it.

  • specify the format of the cross-reference in read/write rules?

    How can I specify a cross-reference in the rules format of reading/with import xml document?

    Gary,

    If you want all occurrences of the xref element to use the same format, you can specify the format of an InitialObjectFormat rule in ESD or use a rule r/w in the form:

    element 'figref.

    {

    is part of fm of reference;

    format FM property reference value is "Figure."

    }

    If you want to use different formats and have a particular element to specify that one, you can set an attribute whose value is the name of format with a rule like:

    "xref" element

    {

    is part of fm of reference;

    attribute ' xref-fmt' is the formula of property reference fm;

    }

    In fact, if your DTD defines an attribute called 'format', default FM it uses for this purpose.

  • How to set the width of the column read/write rules?

    Hello specialists of the structure.

    I read a set of DITA files in a specific format to the FM model, and there is a detail that I can't work properly. It should be possible to set the width of the columns in a table, even if the DITA file does not include this information. But the developer Application Structure reference does not give information about what string to pass to the property of fm of column widths. Anyone out there experience in doing this?

    Thank you

    Jang

    I have it!

    Turned out to be simple, but the info was more or less hidden in the Dev Guide of Ref: I already had the line "property column widths fm is the value" but did not know the syntax for values. Turns out you need to delimit the values with spaces, not commas. The parser does not give ANY useful information, simply mentions "somewhere near syntax error" or completely ignores the values that you specify.

    This is how the rule for my properties DITA element works now:

    {'Properties' element

    is fm of table element;

    columns FM property value is "3".

    column and the width of the FM property value is "5cm 5cm 6 cm;

    }

    This works. I earn 10 points to answer my own question. :-)

  • NFC tags low level read/write operations

    Hello

    I know it's little bit offtopic question - but since you are experts in the field I will try you may ask a simple question:

    1 / I want to know what protocol is used to read/write for the NFC operations, tags are used. According to my understanding after that the label is placed on the NFC (NFC, USB drive phone) reader, it is powered and set to the ready state. The application protocol for read-write operation is used. As I think that the format and content of the commands used to read/write is not specified in the ISO 14443 and it is based on a material/manufacturer and will be different for FeliCa, Mifare, Innovision, etc tags, so there is no way how to handle read/write NFC tags with unique implementation operations. This hypothesis is correct?

    2 / are there tags, that supports the 4 7816 APDU commands for read/write operations?

    Thanks for the reply
    Kind regards
    STeN

    Hello

    To read the NFC forum specifications. It will be better explained than by me.

    several protocols are used according to the contactless front-end configuration and capabilities. It includes ISO14443-A, ISO14443-B and Felica. Sometimes the other protocols are also available, for example Innovatron (not Innovision lol)

    Mifare is not a Protocol, it is a line of NXP products. These products use the lower layers of the ISO14443-A protocol specification.

    There are 4 types of tags

    (1) using the lower layers of the ISO14443-A
    (2) using the lower layers of the ISO14443-B
    (3) something related to felica?
    don't know exactly on these 3, you should read the specs. Everything is clearly understandable, not like ETSI.

    (4) something using commands ISO7816-4 on top A ISO14443 or B or others. You must SELECT, BINARY, BINARY update READ. You can implement using javacard, I did it and it works. You need two binary files, which can be hard-coded.

  • Several problems of reads/writes of Visa

    Hi all.

    I've been using labview VISA to communicate with an I/O device called a µChameleon.

    I need to monitor the status of mutiple pins by sending an entry VISA to query the PIN then use a read VISA to identify the State of the PIN.

    The problem I have is when I use several reads/writes VISA. When I run the present, only one VISA reading returns the corresponding pin State, but everything else show nothing. The funniest is when I use run highlight, they will return all the State of the PIN.

    The photo below shows the basic principle of what im doing by simply copying the base serial number read and write code. For example, I send the string 'State of pin 1' followed by a carriage return and if it works correctly it should return a string Read VISA saying ' pin 1 1 "(top) or" pin 1 0 "(low)." ""

    Can someone help me witht that. Is this a timing problem with the VISA of the readings?

  • How do you know the speed of read/write of a flash drive?

    Who knows a program to read/write speed?

    Hi Cristi,

    Thanks for posting in the Microsoft Community.

    An indication of the standard flash drives read/write speeds is the following:

    USB 2.0:

    Sequential write speed range = 4-10 MB/S

    Sequential read speed range = 15 to 25 MB/S

    USB 3.0:

    Sequential write speed range = upto20 MB/S

    Sequential read speed range = upto45 MB/S

    These reading and writing speeds offer a guide to the read/write Flash Drive performance and have been identified in recent tests. Please note that we are changing the components USB Flash Drive at any time based on the availability and cost. This means that the read/write speeds above cannot be guaranteed.

    You can use your favorite search engine to search for this application that measures the speed of read/write of flash drives.

  • Find ratios of read/write for each VM?

    Peers learned Hello!

    Our primary SAN is optimized, most being read/write of 70/30.  I know I have a few loads of work that look more like 90/10.  There are others who are closer to 30/70 and 50-50...  So, I am trying to identify the various reports of workload of SAN for my virtual machines...  Then I can size a storage solution of good writing optimized for specific virtual machines.

    Keeping in mind that there are between 10-20 VM by volume, looking at the SAN, or the actual data store would not help a lot. -I guess I could create a new volume and move the virtual machine to her one at a time and see what these statistics look like... but that sounds like a big pain.

    I'm not asking how to put in place a hierarchical, I have nothing to level with again!

  • Cannot read file rules

    Hello

    I loaded data successfully on another server with the same data and the same rules file and ceteris parabus the same file / rule fails with. "Cannot read the file rules ' in the error log and"unexpected error Essbase 1007083' on load results screen data.

    I tried refreshing and save the rules file as if it was a problem caused by differences on the original version of the server, it makes no difference, but does not prove that EAS has the right to write rules file in the directory it is more later saying he can't read?

    I was also on the data file with a fine for special characters tooth comb and can't find any problem, AND, as previously noted, the same file load perfectly on another server.

    I've also limited the load file down to a single line to exclude the possibility of this being caused by memory, although the original file is of modest size, a few hundred lines time columns 3, parent / child / alias.

    This is a new installation of Essbase, which does not seem to work correctly, but now that will not seem to load some files.

    I tried to restart Essbase, but the problem remains.

    My version of EAS is 11.1.2.3

    Someone at - it help please?

    Thank you

    Robert.

    Hello

    I found my own difficulty and I'm posting for the recording, so any that come after that run into the same issue...

    Save my rules file for the directory of the Essbase server rather than the file system, ceteris parabus, works perfectly.

    If someone can tell me why I would be interested.

    Kind regards

    Here, my concern is what should be the value of ideal threashold for a DBA to act on the high physical reads/writes?
    and how he can fix this problem if it affects database performance?

    I don't think that there is any possibility to mention that the amount of an e/s is going to be good or bad for a database in general. The reason is that it is not quantifiable. For example, in a store, maybe one day that no one gets and another day, there is no place to stand (because there was a sale announced by the store). So now, how do you say that it was not necessary? Rather than search for best practice values, it is best that you keep track of the normal functioning of your db and when you see a special summit in the values of events scattered user IO as DB file read, DB file parallel read etc and when this happens, you should check back the work you are doing and see if that can be refined somehow.

    I use 10.11.5 on an iMac 21.5 ", end of 2009 and I want to restore the OS X 10.11.5 to HD on an external drive but I get this message" Source volume is read = write and cannot be disassembled, so it cannot be copied from block. .. .Goldie

    You use disk utility's restore feature?

    If the HD has a recovery partition, you can make starting in place of the recovery.

    Or you can use SuperDuper! (the basic version is free and can copy the entire disk, the paid version allows "smart updates", which copies only files that are different, saving time) running on externally to perform the copy.

    Using Sonic Record DLA, Tecra A8 DVD don't read/write DVD-R 1-16 x. Ok work on DVD - R 1-8 x and CD DVD - R 1-16 x has tested successfully on the two recent Toshiba Satellite Pro and HP Office. Have updated the Bios, software DVD-RAM and Sonic DLA.

    Hey,.

    What exactly do you mean? This means that you can t burn DVD-r with 16 x speed?
    In this case, you should check the specifications of your CD/DVD drive. Not all models support this speed of combustion. In addition, I recommend using 8 x only, he speed will give you a better quality of the burned data/average.

    You must also use different types of media. I believe that your other computers have different drives in order to test different mediums. I have a good experience with Verbatim DVD-R.

    I have the problem as the topic - my DVD drive is not read/write DVD-RAM discs (recorder: HL-DT-ST DVDRAM GSA-T20N). Unfortunately, there is no any drivers (more recent than I've got) for this recorder on the Toshiba, not even site on LG or Microsoft. What should I do?

    Greetings

    Hello

    To be honest, it's quite strange. If the laptop is preinstalled with recovery image, it should work. I tested it on my laptop 5 minutes ago and it works. The DVD-RAM disc is readable and different documents can be saved on the disk too.

    Do you use your own installation of OS, or you still have some factory settings?

    Hi, I have a laptop Equium L10. My DVD RAM mast * a UJ 830 cannot read/write to DVD discs. But it can read and write CDs.
    I have installed the latest driver but no luck. Any suggestion will be appreciated.

    This problem appears since day one?

    I ask because it looks like a hardware malfunction, to me it seems that the lens can not calibrate properly and that's why the drive can read and write DVDs.
    What burning software do you use?
    For the most part a burning like Nero program provides an error message if the burning process failed
