ReadString() and 'deadline to full operation. "

Hello!

I'm having a little annoying problem with GPIB communications. I already read the following threads...

http://forums.NI.com/T5/instrument-control-GPIB-serial/random-GPIB-timeout-error-in-NET-application/...
http://forums.NI.com/T5/instrument-control-GPIB-serial/ReadString-get-time-limit-exceed-to-complete-...

... and I tried without success.

The parameter:

-Windows 7
-Visual Studio 2008
-GPIB latest-drivers (15.0)

-USB-GPIB-HS

We lack a test software in our production system which has been programmed using VB.net and c# (Visual Studio 2008).

When I try to write (_device.write ("Q0; HV; RES? ") and reading (. device.readString ()) as soon as possible on my desk (laptop, USB-GPIB-HS + security Finero Quanti tester) everything works fine even without any delay in the code. I get about 17 answers in a second. I tried this 100 times in a row (loop for). No problem, exceptions or anything like that.

The second I walk in the door on the factory floor and try the same code in one of the testers I get "timed for all the operation." -error. And it's totally random and at the same time not so random. There are about 4-6 testers using the same code now (with the exception of the time of 50 ms between each writing and reading) and the next Tester omits the first (.readString-control of 90% of the time). All testers are the same. The tester ended security test - sequence only ONCE in six.

The only difference is that I use a laptop and the PC test in testers is new Advantech industrial PC (also running Windows 7).

I tried first 50ms delay between writing and the read command. Then 250 m per second. Two seconds. DOES NOT. Frustrating. I worked on these new codes quantity for a month now and I can't release them in production, if it is not 100% reliable.

Must I change parameters of GPIB? Time is too short/long? EABO (6) means "Abandoned IO Operation." (what do you mean "abandoned"? Why? He is not even trying to read.)

Any ideas?

PS. At one point, I had the same error on my laptop but only once. The problem went away on its own without any apparent reason.
