ReadyNAS Duo v2 impossible to access the start menu

Hello

I am new in ReadyNAS, I bought this one for a long time but only used for a few days... I try to use again, I tried to upgrade the firwmare the/admin /, but surely a bug appear, because after restart-auto, I can not access the /admin/ with my own password or the default password factory.

So, I am trying to go to the Start Menu to use that reinstalling the operating system. I & pressed the reset button, press the power button and wait... wait... wait... the 5 LEDs light up but that never happen :-(

I have only 2 LEDs for disks (2 at the same time), and then a few seconds later, only the right one.

Maybe I can try with a Boot USB Recovery but I can't find where to download (the search engine return nothing on the download page)

Thanks for your help!

Hi lakano,.

Welcome to the community!

Can you confirm the version of your ReadyNAS unit HW? It could have been labeled as ReadyNAS V2, but it could be a V1. Send me a PM with S/N so I can check.

Kind regards

  • How to access the start menu? F10 is ignored. ESC is ignored.

I have a HPE175z running a new installation of Windows 7 Home Premium.  I want to change the startup parameters.  When the system boots, the screen tells me that < F10 > give me access to the configuration.  F10 is completely ignored.  A message tells me later < ESC > will give me access to the Start Menu. < ESC > is also ignored.  Similarly, I have try all the keys are ignored - nothing interrupts the boot sequence.  How can I access the start menu?

The problem is that no key during the boot stopped the boot process and allowing me to enter the installation or startup configuration.  I swapped keyboards and the problem disappeared.  Apparently, the keyboard did not have during the boot sequence.

Thanks to all those who had a suggestion.

  • Cannot access the Start Menu - 6 Ultra

I realize there are other threads on this problem but mine is a little diiferent.

I just replaced memory in both my Ultra 6 s. The steps were:

    Ultra unit has

    Deletion of records

    New memory installed

A run the memory test (past)

    Replacement discs

    Fact

    Ultra B

    Deletion of records

    New memory installed

Could not access the Start Menu to run a memory test.

Shared memory of unit A and B of the unit (with 'good' memory)

Could not access the Boot Menu

Blank placed in drive B and turned on.

Could not access the Boot Menu

    Disk spent

Has started doing a factory reset to unit B

I pulled the plug when I saw "pending RAIDar.

So it seems to B unit works fine except that I can't access the Start Menu.

I guess that the reset button does not work on Unit B or is it possibly caused by something else?

    Here is my MAIN question:

What should I expect when I put the original disks to unit B?

I noticed that Studio B was assigned to a new IP address, so I'm a little unsure of what to expect.

Ah, that could be just a bad reset button.

  • In the start-up procedure, how can I remove "press ESC to access the Start Menu" when the machine hangs at the HP logo screen?

    Hello

I am running 64 Win7HP on a laptop HP dv3, processor Core 2 Duo 4 GB DDR2 Ram, 320 GB HD, just as it came out of the box when purchased directly from HP replaced EXCEPT Vista OS with 64bits Win7HP.  Machine worked fine until the LAST update of Windows, where during the reboot, I got to the HP logo screen and in the lower left corner of the screen appeared the statement (for THE FIRST TIME) "Press ESC for the Start Menu."  Pressing Esc translates into another command "press Esc...".  Break. " When you press ESC, you get a black screen until the machine goes to sleep UNLESS you press Ctrl + Alt + Delete. If you press the 3 key combo, it will continue to start and brings you to the screen of your password for access and then operate nicely, until you turn off the system. So, how can I get rid of the superfluous instructions and get this thing here where he turns and goes directly to the screen of password without intermediate steps?  Restore points are long since gone for immediate access to the front last Win Update.
The answer may be simple, but until now it has escaped my low range.  Any help is appreciated.

  • XP sp3 impossible to access the Options Menu with the keyboard

When you try to access the security mode of the Advanced Options Menu does not respond to the keyboard. Cannot use the arrow keys to select or even select normal startup. Completely locked. Must restart. Have installed the latest drivers for the millisecond (MS Intelli Type Pro and drivers dated 29/06/2010 ver. 8.0.2190). When accessing the BIOS function and XP and all apps also all keys.

Keyboard purchased 26/01/2011. MS Wired Keyboard 600 model 1366.

You wish to have access to safe mode back

The system I have, I built from the bottom upwards, it's been about 5 times. Keyboard is USB, HARD drive is IDE.

The reason I wanted was fashion safe to remove the access and the application that cannot be removed using my program uninstaller or add/remove Control Panel. This is a secure application that I used for the password protect and hide the request. I installed the new application and should have opened the former access to files, but not installed the first new. And now, the old file is protected course. But in Safe Mode saved the day. I used msconfig to start safe mode. Neverhad this happen in the past, the only change is the keyboard and Sp3.

Hey once again thanks for your time, really appreciate it.

  • Cannot access the start menu

I have a HP Pavilion m7590n. It was in the light of household use for about 4 years and finally the master hard drive died.  I thought that I would put in a new drive and while I'm at it install windows 7 as well.

The problem is that none of the F keys seem to work. I can't access all the settings of the bios or boot menu for I can boot from a CD.

The blue screen of the HP says that esc = Boot Menu F1 = Setup F10 = system recovery

None of these keys work. I tried every other F key without success and some good faith 4 different keyboards, including the USB one supplied with the computer. No idea what is the problem? Or what I am doing wrong?

I just need to boot from the windows 7 CD so I can install the operating system on the new hard drive.

Thanks for any help on the subject.

    Hello

You should be able to access the bios without a hard drive.  I disabled the sata ports in the bios for hard drives and I can always access the bios.

    Try this procedure:

Disconnect the PC and open it. Clean all the dust. Carefully, remove and replace all the cables towards the mother board one at a time. Do the same for memory DIMM and the video and the sound of cards if you have a.  You can buy a can of compressed air to blow the dust out of the heatsink from the CPU.  Plug your PC back in and give it a go.

Try this procedure and see if you can locate the problem. Troubleshooting problems of energy supply. Do not skip steps.

  • Problem to access the Start Menu

I hope I have explained this clearly.  I was deleting some files, when all of a sudden he disappeared & Windows Hotmail pg popped up in my Start Menu.
Well, I'm out of here & brought my Start Menu up, I clicked on "Favorites", which is where I was deleting files, the files in the Favorites, all came as usual... BUT, when I went to click on one of these files--my Start Menu just went off the screen. I continued ebb in "Start menu" & "Favorites", but any file I clicked on in 'favourites', it does the same thing.
What the hell happened?  I did without the knowledge/involuntarily/by accident hit a few keys get there?
So, now, I can get into my "Start menu" - I can click on, "Patti" / Control Panel/ordinateur/favoris/etc.--mais I cannot click on anything in one of these - menu just disappears whenever I try.
Is there anyone out there who can help me please?
    Thanking you in advance...

It worked fine for a day. Then this happened.

Mine 8.1 flicking of screen between the office and purple screen constantly, occurred because of a Windows update that is has happened when I wasn't paying attention.

I just went into recovery menu taking into turning computer turned off and before you turn on the computer, press and hold the F8 key

-Press F8 all the time until the "Please wait" is displayed on your screen

    - Then it will say recovery

    -See Advanced repair options

    Were able to:

    -Troubleshooting

    -Advanced options

    -System restore

I chose a restore date before that I did my last windows update and then flew it worked.

Then I created a good restore point and reinstalled the update and everything was fine. I hope this helps someone.

I guess the update got initially interrupted either by loss or hiccups in the Wi - Fi or DSL and something do not go right.

    Hello

You may be able to use the console redirection, but the startup screen usually goes too fast for the button before it initializes the redirection. Here is the pinout of the cable to the console port.

    Hello

Power access and use the menu starup is a good thing. This means that the BIOS is not altered.

If you can access the start menu and the BIOS, then it means that it is likely that the hard drive has failed.

Replace the hard drive with another, and then install an operating system on it.
