  I just installed last 6.4.0 beta branch.

  I've noticed that disk numbers are not displayed on chassis display upwards.

  Only squares are shown but not number inside them.

  I think it is a bug.

• ReadyNas remote network of sheet errors

  I need help to enter the ReadyNas remote works fine on my laptop. The laptop is a Macbook Pro running Windows 7 Professional x 64 via Bootcamp. Here's what I've done so far:

  1. I've enabled ReadyNas remote on my ReadyNas and install the application on my laptop according to the instructions here: https://www.readynas.com/?cat=52
  
  
  2. When installation is completed I got the error message: "you probably have a problem with leaf networks network adapter. You can solve this problem... »
  
  
  3. I reinstalled the application and restarted my laptop to make sure that everything was set up correctly
  
  
  4. I made sure that there is no gateway address set according to: http://www.readynas.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=75&t=42500
  
  
  5. When I try replacing the .dll file that is mentioned in the post above, I get an error and the remote application does not load
  
  
  6. I tried custom - configure the IP address. The custom IP address solves nothing and seems to be reset whenever the application is loaded

• Text cursor disappears in dreamweaver beta cc

  We just downloaded dreamweaver cc beta to solve a problem that wasn't, however another question occurred, when the text cursor disappears when you type a letter.

  There is no process on when that happens, that happens.

  For a temporary solution, you can switch between the window layout IE design dev and back to the design.

  Did someone knows if there is a setting in preferences or this is just a beta version bug?

  I replaced my old ReadyNAS Pro for a ReadyNAS 314 and moved the disks for my new RN314. In the ReadyNAS admin page, I see that the host name is READYNAS, what I want. In my router I changed the name of READYNAS also. So, can I still use \\READYNAS to access my files as I always did. However, in my network the RN314 is still visible under the enigmatic NAS-E6-10-B @, I certainly won't.

  Does anyone has an idea how I can change this?

  Ah, I see the problem, I think that I can not just move the disks to an old NAS with a different OS on a new. I will do a factory reset and restore a backup in the new NAS. This could probably solve this problem... I hope.

  Windows 7 64 bit freezes once a day without leaving a trace. I use Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit on a SONY Vaio Z1 with 8Gbyte of RAM and an Intel Quad Core. It's driving me crazy. I get nothing relevant observer of events before the crash, nothing after the crash, except the question if I want to restart in Mode without failure. No blue screen. Just a clean restart from scratch.

  I got IE9 beta 64 bit and Silverlight. The accidents began to occure after installing IE9. But quite often, IE9 is not yet running. Is there anything I can do to analyze the problem more deeply, for example to run a program in the background to check the system setting?

  IE9 is a Beta and Beta means Bugs and bugs mean problems. So uninstall IE9.

• Yellow colors appear dull export, drives me crazy, need help

  When I export a photo from lightroom in JPEG with sRGB color space, I see huge differences mainly yellow colours.

  The photo of sRGB washed yellow which is a huge difference to the development version.

  I have a very basic knowledge of color management and Lightroom and understand the theory of color spaces and that he will always be differences in color because of the conversion from Lightroom (Prophoto with tonecurve of sRGB) in sRGB.

  But what I don't understand is that my yellow in color space sRGB exported look much more washed out and ugly so similair pictures I find on the net. (which are also in the sRGB color space)

  For example, the image below, which includes rich yellow colors in my browser (Firefox4):

  If I compare to my image exported (with saturated colors high in lightroom), I see a huge difference in the yellow color:

  What is confusing to me, is that when I open the Flickr images locally in Photosop I see that the yellow GET washed, there, as well (probably because that the PS is color management).

  So I thought that maybe it's the webbrowser (Firefox 4) that incorrectly displays the photos, but then again, why not my photos look so washed out in Firefox4 and other flickr sRGB photos, they also have an sRGB profile... (Firefox4 should be color management).

  In any case I can reproduce these solid yellow colours using Lightroom to export. (IN Lightroom, it seems very well)

  -My screen is calibrated using a spyder3 pro colour. (I do not have a range wide lcd)

  -J' using Lightroom 3.3 for editing and using full export of RAW to JPEG color space sRGB.

  I wouldn't start compared to other photos on flickr with yours, but comparing the view to develop it in LR with sRGB off LR export.

  Compared with the view to develop in LR

  • What looks like a JPEG look exported in Photoshop?
  • What looks like a JPEG look exported in Firefox 4?
  • How an exported JPEG looks in LR, after you import it?

  If they all look the same (more or less) the same, there is no problem with your JPEG export.

  The two images from flickr, you are referring to DOES NOT include any color or same profile tag. So depending on how Firefox 4 manages photos not marked, you might just be looking at their using your profile display or something else (I don't have Firefox 4 installed to discover, in Firefox 3, there are gfx.color_management.display_profile to be specified). In addition, be aware that Firefox 4 (AFAIK) is beta, so bugs should not be ruled out.

  I improved my Pro 6 and used the R4toR6_latest - beta.bin related to this page:

  The upgrade went smoothly and my Pro 6 is now running 6.5.0 as seen in the page overview of the system.

  I don't see RC1 or RC2 on this page.

  If you download the logs you'll see one you are in os_version.log

  If you downloaded the image from R4toR6 earlier, it should be RC2.

  Hi all, I'm looking for more details on the pro for my Readynas Pro 6 support. However, when I called support they advised only per-incident support is available. The reason why I ask that it is the customer that I support has no real technical knowledge and it's always a matter of concern for me when I am not available. It would be good if there was a service I could buy so they could call an experienced support engineer who could go to distance effectively and help them if I wasn't able to. Thank you...

  It is what it is.

  The 314 is a suitable replacement for the Pro 4. It has a faster than the Pro 4 processor and double the RAM. However, it is not as powerful as the Pro 6. It depends on the use case whether it is appropriate.

  The 516 has a better processor than the Pro 6 and 4 x the RAM.

  Yes, you can run double redundancy on the 314. A system of 4-Bay double redundancy would be the capacity of the smallest disk.

  Rackmount the 3130 or for a 12 - bay 3220/4220 according to budget would be the way to go.

• ReadyNAS-102 (6.4.1) disconnects randomly

  Hi all

  Over a year ago I bought a NAS readyNAS-102 as replacement for my old configuration by using a media player with external drives. From the beginning I was very happy with the way everything worked, it was so good!

  I was able to access my files across using FTP, I could listen to my Samsung Smart TV and all devices (laptops, ipads, you call it) could access the database, I created.

  This has stopped recently. For some unknown reason my readyNAS-102 with firmware 6.4.1 randomly disconnects after a while to load. It doesn't matter if it is used TV, laptop or tablet.

  For example, when you watch a movie on the TV, the laptop or Tablet the device disconnects from the SIN after a random delay. This may be 3 or 30 minutes in the film. Strange thing is, it is not peripheral wide, so when the laptop is disconnected (I can't access it storage network or via static ip address) I can still access the NAS with my ipad.

  The same thing happens when you look at photos etc. I already tried several things but can't seem to find the missing piece of the puzzle.

  Perhaps people with more knowledge have a hunch where the problem may be.

  I am pleased to announce that for the moment, the problem disappeared.

  I updated the firmware to the latest version beta 6.4.2 - T72 and tested by watching a movie.

  For 1 hour and 15 minutes the NAS has run smoothly so I am happy again.

• Pre-release of Windows 10 and ReadyNAS.

  Someone at - configure a system with a pre-release version of Windows 10 and network a ReadyNAS?
  I am interested because I intend to update soon (not sure if I'll do day 1-29/07/15), and I was wondering what impact it could have.
  I currently use Windows 7 for my main machine, with Vista, MAc etc. iphones.
  Relationship, 'nitpicking' small with the current Win 7 - NAS, as the management of credentials, Windows Explorer (see http://www.readynas.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=23&t=81416) etc.
  I hope that things will go smoother for the relationship, or there will be some RNOS problems that could not have been foreseen.

  NETGEAR has actually tested the use of ReadNAS in a 10 of Windows (or X) environment?

  We use the last samba series 4.2 in our ReadyNAS OS 6.2.x firmware.

  By nature beta software may have bugs and a few changes before the release. A major upgrade as Windows 10 is also likely to have added new SMB features that can take a long time to be taken in charge by samba, or not at all.

  You would think it should work the same way well how the ReadyNAS works with existing versions of Windows e.g. Windows 7 but it is possible, there may be some problems for early adopters.

  I would advise professional users do not update immediately. Some software, for example 3rd party software require updates to support Windows 10. If possible test it first 10 Windows on a machine of printers to hopefully avoid the problems leading to serious interruptions in service.
