• Lightning suddenly does not at all despite all software including firefox being updated and reinstalled. He now works in Chrome and IE but not firefox

  I was trying to get flash to run more easily in zynga.com. I have disable hw accel in flash and firefox. When that didn't help, I tried to re - install. Flash has stopped working completely. I uninstalled and reinstalled chrome, ie, flash and firefox. I got flash to work in IE and Chrome now, but all I get in FIrefox is a white screen and I can not even right-click to access the control panel of the flash. Can someone please help me understand what theheck happened?

  You can open the properties of the desktop Firefox shortcut via the context menu and check under the tab "compatibility".
  
  Make sure that all items are disabled in the tab "Compatibility" in the Properties window.

  You can check for problems with the latest version of the Flash plugin and try these:

• Capture video with Realplayer streaming has stopped working - will be fixed for the next version?

  When a video is streaming, Realplayer is supposed to create a small rectangular box in the upper right corner with a message 'Download this video '. In the latest version of Firefox that box no longer appears. So, the video cannot be downloaded. On the other hand, using Chrome things work as they are supposed to.

  AM now common with FF 13, Flash is up to date. But FF play more video content on YouTube and other sites as well.

  On YouTube, I get the video with the circumflex [>] key window in the center of the video. But when I click to play it, I get the message:
  An error has occurred. Please try again later.

  I finally disabled the add-on for RealPlayer Record (or was it an extension? I can't understand the differences between the Add-ons, plug-ins and extensions) and now the video plays well. But, of course, I can capture is no longer clips.

  I guess that conflicts and incompatibilities will be finally resolved!

• Flash Chrome & IE crashes

  I tried all the difficulty that I can find.  Including all positions in Flash crash assistance extrodinaire eidnolb

  I checked that it is enabled.  I see the logo on http://www.adobe.com/software/flash/about/

  I'm runnning 10.1.82.76 IE and Chrome. 

  I had a less than 12 month old Dell running win7.

  I used the uninstall program to uninstall flash and reinstalled on IE.

  I uninstalled Chrome completely and reinstalled.

  Yet about half of the time I watch a youtube video or a website (e.g., espn.com) announced a flash on it, my browser crashes...

  Hi, thanks. Then, you must use this file FlashAuthor. So there are no Add ons are related in browsers, no problem.

  When you go into tools, Internet Options and on the Security tab, make sure that it is set to medium for the Internet Zone.

  What about VirusScan from McAfee?

  It will be difficult to know which adds on in the browser (s) is causing a problem. Sometimes disabling them all except Shockwave Flash object and see if there is a problem. Then activate one add and test a site, then another, etc. and try to find some one is in conflict.

  That or for the safe boot mode, which is really the same thing.

  Skype, RealPlayer, Quicktime can come into conflict, but it just depends on what other add ons are installed. They may conflict with each other, believe it or not. It's like trying to find a needle in a haystack sometimes.

  New programs or uninstall a McAfee updates.

  You might want to shut down the PC, and run a full McAfee scan just to be sure it is not question of malware.

  Looks like it would be wise to reinstall Chrome, as it may not be updated when you updated to Sierra.

  I am the new owner of a Macbook Pro 13 "retina early 2015 model with 8 GB of RAM.

  I need to really take care of this laptop that I'll probably not be able to replace it soon (I have two little babies to feed!), but I demand a lot of it (I am a school administrator working on my doctorate degree).

  My questions:

  • Google Chrome is really the resource hog I've read on reviews of browser? I heard that Safari is much less demanding on Macs, but it does everything just for me, especially because we use a lot of Google Apps for education at the school that I work at and where I study. I tried to go on Safari to work for this reason, but it's just impossible/impractical
  • I bought a Briefcase for laptop computer for extra protection, but a colleague told me that they have actually cause more harm than good. He seemed to have a personal vendetta against them, so I would like to get your thoughts. His main complaint is that they have cause overheating, but my case does not have one of the vents and extra mouths on the bottom

  Note, I don't play all the games on this machine; I use it strictly for communication and research. I use mostly Google Docs/sheets/slides for my office work and school.

  I use a plastic cover on my MBP to 2015 and have never had an overheating problem.  As you say, it's what the vents for and coverage provides protection against shocks of everyday.

  When I download Chrome for OS x, the googlechrome.dmg is correctly downloaded.  When I double click the icon, it apparently installs and then brings me to the Application page, but it is not listed.  It is not found.

  Double-click on the dmg and then either run Chrome from here or drag it to the Applications folder. By double-clicking an alias in the Applications folder from the disk image will not install anything.
