All you need to do is install XP that contains SATA drivers. The XP you are trying to install does not contain them is why it does not recognize your hard drive. If you can't find Xp with SATA drivers, you can create your own drive to install XP with SATA drivers in a few steps:

    (1) download nLite
    (2) download the SATA drivers for your laptop from the Toshiba site
    (3) find Xp installation (normal that you use for your PC)
    (4) start nLite and it will tell you how tointegrate the SATA drivers in the XP installation

Hello. I use a laptop Touch B50-30 Energy Star. It came with Windows 8.1. Recently, it is automatically promoted to the 10 Windows (which I really like). Unfortunately, since the upgrade, when I press the power button / the Lenovo logo appears on the screen, and then everything goes black and stays like that until I turn the power and then restart with the power again button.

Help! I can't install XP! Blue screen of death every time?

I am trying to install Windows XP Pro on an old hard drive from the laptop, beforehand I had it wiped, partitioned in two and made a NTFS format partition.

I use a computer without a hard drive to install XP, the drive of the laptop is connected using an external hard drive box.
The Windows XP computer on I use is a netbook without cd/dvd drive, that's why I use another computer to get windows installed first.
The first installation is going well. I select the formatted partition I want XP must be installed. The files are copied from the XP CD on the hard drive. Then a restart occurs. The XP loading screen appears, but before the loading bar comes alive I get a blue screen.
I tried to install 3 times now, each failure at the same point. I don't know what to do now?

Any input would be appreciated because I was a machine now for a week only to find what I wanted and then in construction and now this problem - please help

Suggest you only begin by installing a configuration non-RAID first. Also since this is a new construction, you need to do some test equipment to verify that you don't have a hardware problem. Connect a SATA drive to a standard SATA connector rather than the RAID connector.

Set of utilities to test for computer HARDWARE manufacturers:

Note: If you are OverClocking or use any automatic overclocking BIOS features, Intel EIST or Turbo Mode (turn off).
then back at the speed of stock as a starting point.

Disconnect the other internal hard drives and external USB devices.

First try running Memtest86 +:  It runs from a floppy disk or CD, you must remove or
confirm whether your one or more of your sticks of memory are bad or the values of the SPD in the BIOS are correct.
Let it run for as long as you can: 2,4,6,8 or several hours (at least 3 full passes), if no errors at that time then your ram is OK.

  • Cannot remove the software Intel (r) PROSet/Wireless when trying to install Windows 8

I am trying to install Windows 8 on a Dell running Windows 7 laptop - all my drivers are up to date and I performed the upgrade wizard who told me that I had to uninstall the software three elements because they are incompatible with Windows 8.   I deleted two, but when I try to delete the third, Intel (r) PROSet/Wireless Software of Bluetooth, the system returns a message saying "there is a problem with this Windows Installer package.  A program required for this install to complete could not be run - please contact the support staff. "I'm stuck - Windows installation cannot continue until I can get rid of this element, and nothing to do, it seems able to remove apparently.  Any suggestions?

I found I had to activate the blue tooth wireless adapter. Also I had the same error until I turned it on. Then he allowed me to uninstall to the satisfying of the installer of Windows 8.

  • ESXi 3.5 and when trying to install windows server 2008

I installed ESXi 3.5 on my server and successfully created a first virtual computer on which I am trying to install Windows server 2008 standard. I use VMware Infrastructure Client 2.5 from a Vista machine to access my virtual machine console.

Installation of Windows server is an ISO file located in the root directory of the ESX Server data store. Everything went well with the installation until one last server restart showed a screen stating "the password must be changed before logging on the first time' by clicking on 'OK' present a login for 'Administrator' screen, asking me to enter a password for the 'new' and 'Confirm password '.

Any attempt to enter a new password results (up to 14 characters, mixture letter & number) in a message "unable to update the password, the value provided for the new password does not meet the requirements of length, complexity or the history of the area.

As far as I know, I'm not usig a specific domain, have never been able to access Windows server 2008 to create an admin account. I don't know how to solve this problem. I am new to VMWare and Windows server 2008.

Any suggestion to move forward and allow me to have access to the server via the console?

Thanks in advance for your help, Claude

This isn't really a problem with VMware, but more of a problem of Windows 2008 password complexity requirements.

The account that she is not asking that you must change the password is the local administrator account.

And you have tried in upper case, lower case, numbers and special characters?  Something like Win2008!@#$ maybe?

    Hello

You can erase your entire hard drive with command prompt from booting from the Windows installation disc and run the utility "diskpart", clear full hard drive, make new partitions and install the operating system.

    (a) start the computer from the Windows installation disc.

    (b) click on 'Next' at the first prompt.

    (c) click on "Repair your computer."

    (d) click "next".

    (e) click on "Command prompt."

    (f) type "diskpart" without the quotes, and then press "Enter".

    (g) list disk 'type' without the quotes, and then press "enter".

    (h) type "select disk 0" without the quotes and replacing '0' by the actual number of the car you want to erase.

    (i) type "clean" without the quotes, and press "Enter." The drive is now completely erased.

    (j) restart the computer.

    (k) through the installation of Windows 7 with regular steps.

    I hope this helps.
