receive an error code 41 on my two optical drives.
When in Device Manager it shows me error 41, but does not show me the fix. Am went to the OEM website, thinking that maybe I need drivers updated, but it says I have the latest drivers. Tried to disable, and then click Restart, and then activated. Did not work. Tried to uninstall, then restart, reinstalled, but also told me that the drivers have been installed, but no material was found. Even checked the boot order in the bios to make sure they were still on the list, they are. So now that?
Error code 41: this problem occurs if you install a non-Plug-and-Play device driver, but Windows cannot find the device.

I can't send or receive emails from Windows Live Mail. Receive the error code 4402. I can send and receive emails from my Windows Live hotmail account. In Windows Live Mail, it also says my server is an http / imap server. Can it be replaced by a pop3 server, so, how? Thank you
Well, took me a few hours and without the help of a person (TIP!), I've fixed it. Remove the live mail client account and re-apply / restore the account. Solves what seems to be a sync error. -19 October 2011

Receive the error code 646__in installation KB973709, KB972581 KB 974234
Receive the error code 646
in the installation of KB973709
KB972581
KB974234OK... I had the same problem with the download of the 2007 Microsoft security updates. When I tried to install updates, I receive error 646. I finally solved my problem by going to the Download Center on Microsoft and I install manually.
Here are the steps that I took... which I think should work:
(1) go to the Microsoft Download Center: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/en/default.aspx
(2) look for each update code that begins with the letters "KB" and followed by a set of numbers (i.e. KB974234)
3) click on the link for the download and then click on download and run. I think you have to accept an agreement, then click on continue or OK
4) repeat for all downloads that you can not install
(5) run Microsoft Update new and click search the updates and if updates have been installed successfully, they should no longer appear in the updates that must be installed.I don't know if it is not relevant or if it helped me succeed to install updates manually, but before I manually installed my updates I followed the instructions David_O posted under this thread http://social.answers.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/vistawu/thread/f3390e74-9961-4aae-8a05-554c1a9cf1a2?prof=required&lc=1033 . I suggest that first of all try to download manually by following my directions. If it does not, then it's a possibility instructions of David resolved an issue that allowed me to download them manually disable Microsoft downloads site.
I can't believe all the research and the suggestions of the technicians did not work... sometimes your own research is the best!
I hope this helps! Good luck!

I'm very frustrated with Windows Update after receiving the error code 80070005
After receiving the error code 80070005 for these last months. I tried several suggested corrections but have not been able to get updates either. My operating system is Vista Ultimate 32-Bit Windows operating system and have service pack 2 installed. any help would be appreciated
Hello
As I said that it is a very difficult issue to resolve.
Did you use all of these methods, including the last link to the other thread?
If you have used all then possibly an InPlace upgrade/repair Installation might
help that allows to maintain the programs and data backups although redundant
are always a good idea. You can use another DVD that aren't copy protected but you you need to own
Product key. It must be the same version 32 or 64 BIT Vista OEM. Also the system
machine to usually sell the cheap disk since you already own Windows. Don't forget to make a
good backup or 3 (security in redundancy).On-site upgrade
http://vistasupport.MVPs.org/repair_a_vista_installation_using_the_upgrade_option_of_the_vista_dvd.htmThis tells you how to access the System Recovery Options and/or a Vista DVD

http://www.Vistax64.com/tutorials/88236-repair-install-Vista.html=====================================
If nothing works then, you can use BING or Google and search for all types of suggestions
many whom will be totally false.Perhaps the best choice is a new installation. You can use copy and paste to the backup
the data on CD, DVD, or USB drives.I hope this helps.

I do not receive an error code for updates failed
original title: update seems to work and indicates successful but when I check some updated why some say failure and why does not receive an error code during the update process?
Whenever I update the installation process says successful but when I went on a lot of my updates to display the details I see "failed." Why is not updating error messages instead of download the update and declaring that it was installed successfully? Why this is happening, seems I can't besure if my updates are actually loaded, even if each notes "installed successfully". I don't want to have to go thro each update to check its status.
Hello
By default, the Windows Update client records all transaction information in the following log file:
%WINDIR%\WindowsUpdate.log
If you receive an error message on the Microsoft Windows Update Web site or automatic
Service updates, you can use the information in the Windowsupdate.log file to resolve the problem.Open the log file and search for the error codes. Post the logs here so that we can check what exactly is causing the problem.
