Receive messages by a network password when accessing files on Windows 7
I am trying to access my files on the network, but I'm being prompted to enter a network password. I use Windows 7 Professional 32 Bit.
Is this a problem running on Windows 7? Hope someone can help me on this one.
If you turn off password protected sharing on all computers, then he used to ask for the password.
Beginning
Control Panel
Network and Internet
Homegroup
Change advanced sharing options
Turn on turn off password protected sharing
Save the changes
There will be a decline in the level of security, but for most home networks, this isn't a big problem.
A safer alternative is to properly configure your homegroup.
Beginning
Control Panel
Network and Internet
Homegroup
From there, you can set up your homegroup. You will receive a password that must be entered in all Windows 7 machines on the network.

Homegroup asking "Network password" when access to the computers in the homegroup
I noticed this in the last week or two. So far, my home group has worked very well.
I have 2 PC under Windows 7 connected via homegroup, a x 64 final running, the other under Home Premium x 64. The Home Premium computer is now asked a "network password" then access folders/libraries shared the ultimate computer. It wasn't a problem before last week. Until a week ago, I could just click on my homegroup from the Home Premium computer, then click the name of the ultimate computer that appears in the homegroup and finally click on shared folders/libraries and it will open the folder/library.
Parameters are,
- Advanced network and sharing Options are all set by default on both including letting Windows HomeGroup connections.
- Network location is defined on each home.
- The homegroup password is the same on each.
- Credential Manager shows [ComputerName] \HomeGroupUser$, correct password and persistence is on each Local computer.
- The two computers are connected wireless 802.11 g via a Linksys WRT400N router, each using a dynamic IP (DHCP) address.
Therefore, I can access files/libraries shared the Home Premium to ultimate PC homegroup without being prompted to enter a password for the 'network '. I can access internet from every computer with no problems.
I tried to leave the homegroup on each computer, recreated on each homegroup, deleted the files IDStore.sst on each, all to nothing does not. Anyone have any ideas?
Thanks in advance.

Well, I seem to have perhaps fallen on something that may have solved my problem, at least for now. This morning, I've renamed the full name of the computer to my Home Premium by removing 1 character of existing name. Of course, I was invited to restart for the changes to take effect. I restarted and then on the next opening of the next session, I renamed full name of the computer to my Home Premium to what it was originally. Once, I have been asked to restart for the changes to take effect. After the reboot, I clicked on my homegroup, and from there I clicked on my ultimate computer that appears in my homegroup. To my surprise, the shared library icons have been restored to their default appearance; documents, music, photos and video. I clicked on each of the four libraries and each opened with full (default read-only) access to the content of each library. I was not invited to a "network password" this time!
If renaming the name of my Home Premium computer twice, once to a new name and then again its original name did somehow fix the problem, this means that the share of aid to the full name of the computer had some kind become corrupted the previous week? This could be the reason for the "Network password" prompt? In any case, my home group is once more working properly between computers in my Home Premium and Ultimate. Touch wood.

I've implemented a network & it seems to work but when I try to access my XP Machine from Windows 7 to ask me to enter the network password. I tried to enter my password to login & that did not work, I tried to disable the password for the xp machine and he asks again. What can I do to solve this problem. My xp machine I can access the pc windows 7 very well so I do not understand why this network password W7.
Did some research on the net and here's what I did to solve the problem that has been produced
Allowing access to the network without password
To allow users to log on to their computer without password and then access the XP Professional machine without a password, you must make a change security policy:
- Go to Control Panel | Performance and Maintenance | Administrative Tools | Local security policy.
- Expand local policies | Security options.
- Double-click on accounts: limit local account passwords using empty for the connection to the console only, which is enabled by default. Disable this option and click OK.
It stopped at the dialog box access network appearing when trying to access my windows xp machine 7!

Win 7 Pro wonder network password when even "password protected sharing" is disabled.
Hello! I use a simple desk Win7 networking with 4 computers, all connected by cable, Win 7 Pro all around. Each computer has a user as an administrator, and all have the same password. Sometimes after an upgrade or a change in the software, one of the workstations can't connect to the server. Windows security box appears and asks you "Network password". I've never set a network password and any combination of user names and existing PW there will allow him to connect. Other workstations connect properly. Disabling the firewall (McAfee) makes no difference. Internet access router is OK
Dear Sooraj: I didn't do any of these changes to work stations, but I found another post from Alex Zhao on the change of access to the network and the local network settings. He suggested the translation of names/SID anonymous authorization and Let Everyone permissions apply to anonymous users be activated, so I enabled them. He also suggested setting LAN to send LM and NTLM - use security if negotiated, NTLMv2 session security, so I put it as well. Still no go. However, as soon as I restarted my router, the missing dialog box and I can see the desktop and print OK on the printer and the network is back to normal. My question is now: these define inappropriate or likely to cause problems for me later? I try to change one of their return? Thanks for your help! Great job. -Dr. Bob

Mac didn't stop after Photoshop to access files on windows server
Hello world
We have a weird problem when our users access files on our server to windows. They can change the files and everything seems to be fine, but when you try to shut down the mac, the system never end closing, even after waiting until the next morning. Only way to stop this force turned off. Someone at - it an idea, how do I solve the problem?
We have verified that the problem only occurs when you open files directly on the share - local files do not cause this problem. There is also no other apps to access the share.
Specifications of customers:
Mac OS 10.10
Photoshop 2015
To access the files via smb share (smb: / / [Server].) FQDN/Share)
24 gig RAM
128 GB Flash drive
27 "iMac
Specification of the server:
Windows Server 2008 R2
NTFS file permissions: full access to the security group
Client is a member of the security group (but not in the same domain as the file server)
So far ideas? Someone has a similar problem?
Best regards
Tobias
Hello
When you try to access the files on the server, MAC launched a security process.
This process could not be top-down.
Please check that the activity monitor.
For the best response you can contact Apple/MAC support.
As Windows uses MAC system MAC OS partition and FAT/NTFS partition
There could be conflict as well.
Also please check if a Windows machine attempts to access Windows Server, the problem still exists.

Yesterday (Tuesday), I started FireFox and he said that there was an update, so I clicked on it to install it. Then, when I tried again to use FireFox, I got this message when I clicked on my shortcut. XULRunner. Version of the platform is not cmpatible with MinVersion 1.9.2.4. How can I fix it? Currently, I use Explorer to access the internet. I tried your live chat and did not get a time of 30 minutes each (tried twice) expected answer.

Try a clean reinstall:
1. Download the Firefox installer from Mozilla.com and save it to your desktop or other location. 2. Make sure that Firefox is closed completely 3. Delete the Firefox installation directory (On Windows, this is typically the C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox folder that contains "firefox.exe" and other Firefox program files and folders). 4. Reinstall Firefox by running the installer you downloaded previously.

Recover/reset of password and access by fingerprints (windows 7 on x 1)
My fingerprint allows me access to my computer (windows 7 on X 1) but I don't remember my password. Is there a way I can get it back / reset now that I'm 'in' the computer via a fingerprint access?
Perhaps. Try this (if you are the administrator):
'Windows key' + R--> Type in:
Control userpasswords2
Click OK.
Click on the "Advanced" tab
Under the "Advanced users" section, click on the button "Advanced".
Expand the 'users' on the left.
Choose your user account and right click and select "Set password".
READ the warning, click CONTINUE if you feel comfortable.
Type the new password twice. READ the warning and click OK if you feel comfortable.
