Hello

You can check some dates that those were the last time.

Start - Recent Articles - click with the right button on any entry and select Properties - general tab
This may not work for some.

Also check the contents of this folder:

"C:\Users\Your user Name\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\Recent.

Where C: is the drive where are your user profiles.

Right-click on any entry - properties - general tab

I hope this helps.

  • "Recent Articles" blocking the crossing from one office to the other.

Hi all. I have Vista on my laptop on which I have two desk tops. I recently noticed this file used on a desktop appear on another desktop computer when you click 'Start', and then go to the section "Recent Articles" the two desk tops are protected by Word then why are the files used on a visible across the image area. Y at - it a setting I can use to prevent this cross above? Any advice would be helpful.    Hairbear.

I'm sorry, but I'm not sure what you mean by "desktop."  Windows Vista lets set you up and switch between multiple user accounts and each user account has its own list of "recent Articles".  Recent files of a user do not appear for another user.

Right-click 'Recent items' and click on 'Recent elements clear list' on one of the "offices" and see if the problem persists.

  • Pinned and recent articles on the taskbar takes some time to display

I have Excel 2016, 2016 Word and Notepad made the fallen on my taskbar with different points, that I use frequently pinned in their right click menu. Recently, when I right click I just get the bottom lines two (program name and options off) and no files listed. I wait 30 seconds to a minute and my list of files appears. Menus on other programs pinned to the taskbar tasks seem to work very well and instantly.

It might be a recent update of Windows or Office 2016 update that changed the behavior but remember that these are the only 2 things that have been updated.

  • I have a red circle with a line through it on my need for speed Shift II in my Start menu, the game does not open

Problem: I have a red circle with a line through it m need for Speed Shift II in my Start menu.   I have never had a red circle with a line pop up on any program in my Start menu, I wanted to know why it happened and how to fix it. The game accepts updates in the form of 'Add packs' of special vehicles in the original site via the EA download manager sports. So I guess that the game is installed correctly, but the game will not open and run at all, not from the start menu, or by clicking the desktop icon. Any help learn more about the red circle with a line about my program and what to do in case it happens again.

Recently, I installed my Windows 7 Ultimate OS on a SSD which had been replaced because of a total failure of the car. I've updated the operating system with all

latest updated windows and the updates of my video card, motherboard, HHD and SSD updated; Thus, all the hardware and software are up to date.

I was going to restore the disk using last good upward from the orginal SSD before he died a month or two ago. So I think this will probably fix my need for speed II problem, but since it's the first time I've ever seen this problem with a program I would like to know how to cope.

Any help would be greatly appreciated,

    Take care. Skyraider33

I've never seen what you describe in the Start Menu, either

You have a new installation of Windows on your new SSD, Yes? If the game is on another HARD disk,
is that what you did re - install the game after installing the new Windows?
Otherwise try to reinstall the game and origin. He would register
entries, both in the previous installation of Windows.

If this does not help forums EA would probably be a better place to find out if the
mods are the source of the problem.

  • Yet once again, I ask. How can I put "recent documents" on the start menu in windows 7, I use Office 2003.

Just need a shortcut for 'recent documents' which has disappeared.  It had XP & Vista.

Could find and add a shortcut to 'new document' that displays white screen, fax, letter, etc.

Cancan, probably not what you want, but is "Recent Articles" in the start menu of good?

It will contain recent documents, but also has other types of files like images.

Sorry if you tried and it's not what you need, or I misunderstood.

  • How can I get the accessories in the start menu?

I tried to make a shortcut to Accessories on my desktop by dragging the icon in the start menu on the desktop. An Accessories folder appears, containing none of the accessories like a painting. In addition, the accessories tab no longer exists in the start menu.

I know can be found in a search, but I wanted to play with the new programs I've not seen before, such as audio and video capture.

How to restore the accessories tab on my menu to start? What programs are normally under the accessories tab?

    Thank you.

    Hello

Restarting the computer should replace accessories back to the start menu. Try to restart the computer if you not him have not tried.
Go to the following locations and check if the Accessories folder is there with all its elements intact.
    C:\Users\\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs
    C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\Accessories
Note: You may need to select the files, folders, and drives hidden in Folder Options If you are unable to locate the folder.

You can also try to create a new user account and check the issue:

    Here's how:

    1. open user accounts by clicking the Start button, clicking Control Panel, clicking user accounts and parental controls, and then clicking user accounts.
    2. click on manage another account.
    3. If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.
    4. click on create a new account.
5 type the name you want to assign to the user account, click an account type, and then click on create an account.

If it works in a new user account, then you will need to fix the corrupted user profile. You can visit this link for the steps:

  • recent documents in the files, NOT the start menu download

I would like to clear the huge list of my recent Documents when I try to attach a file in the email, etc.

    Thanks for any help!

    Hello

    Thank you answering back.

How to access recent documents in Gmail? It was during the setting of documents?

If so, recent documents that appear in the start menu is even when you try to attach the files to the post office.

If you need to delete the files in the recent documents folder, you can run the Fixit described in the article. It would be easier for you.

  • can not clear 'my recent documents' drop files on the start menu

Can't erase my files in the 'My recent documents' from the drop down on the start menu

You didn't say what you tried to do (you did not also what version of Windows you have, including service pack level).

Assuming you have some variety of Windows XP, the usual procedure is to right-click on the Start button, select Properties, click the Start Menu tab, click the Customize button, then finally click 'Clear list' or if you use the XP Menu, click the Advanced tab, then click on "Clear list."

You can also use the FixIt tool in this article--> http://support.microsoft.com/kb/307875

  • Problems of reorganization of the items pinned in the recent Articles from applications menu pinned to the taskbar

    Hello

Recently I encountered the following problem, for which I can't understand a solution. I have some programs such as Excel and Word pinned to the taskbar, and my most frequently used documents are pinned on the list of recent items of each of these programs (so I mean not the newest items on the start menu menu, but those pinned applications).

For more than a year, pinned reorganization points on the upper half has functioned well. In recent weeks, however, the reorganization has unexpected results: say there are, B and C and D made the pinned menu recent Articles of Word in that order. When I try to drag the C between A and B, C will be displayed before. Similarly, when you try to drag between C and D B, B will be the last element.

You, guys, a tip on how work this autour? I guess some kind of "reset" of this feature would be useful, it seems that something was stuck that wouldn't have to be pasted. If it's a browser, I would say that to clean temporary files. Is there something like that, what could I do?

    What I tried:

    * Detach all the elements of the word, and then start again pinning. No change.

    * Menu set start to not maintain a list of recent items, then activated this option. No change.

    * Searched my docs of the user and the registry for a list of the added items. Thought to find a folder of links asc:\Users\Launch\User Pinned\ \AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Quick , but I only found a registry key that looks like containing all these elements in a key chain with some additional data, so that I wasn't not dare delete this reg value enough.

(Environment: Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit, English version)

    Looking forward to your advice.

    EM

In fact a solution has been found in http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/office/forum/officeversion_other-word/list-of-recent-documents-not-showing-up-in-task/8f63be2f-67b0-463e-995e-8274adefdcbe, and it works.

For me, the name of the file to be deleted in the %AppData%\Microsoft\Windows\Recent\AutomaticDestinations was 9839aec31243a928.automaticDestinations - ms, but the name can be an id and opposed on various systems.

The best is to find your file reorganize everything, PIN or detach a file in Excel, or just to open and close a file and then search for the file with the most recent date any time. All the operations described, I suppose, will modify the corresponding file, so all you need to do after this is to sort files by date, to find and remove the latest file, and you can start re-adding pinned items to Excel.

You may be lucky enough that you would have only to reset the permissions for the recent Documents.

And then there is no way to assess the damage, to use Registry cleaners. I HAV come across situations where the permissions would be reset, which is best left to the Microsoft Support using the remote connection. I've also seen cases requiring a full reinstall of the operating system. Personally, I would rather deal with malware infections.

  • recently programs do not appear on the start menu?

I checked in properties in the start menu, but do not see anything wrong with it and I need to know how to put the 'programs' recently back to the list in the menu start? At the moment it is all areas even after opening certain programs and check again, yet show blanks. The pinned programs above are correct.

I think it was caused by the update of Advanced SystemCare version, but I don't know, I have tried to use the system restore to go back before I installed this update, he told me that it can not be restored to the point. I have attempted to coupls of days prior to the date of update installed no success at all.

I would suggest trying the following steps and check if it helps:

    Step 1:

    a. Click Start.

    b. right click on an empty area of the start menu, and then click Properties.

    c. click Customize.

    d. ensure that in programs 'Number of programs on the start menu' is not set to 0 (zero).

  • Customize the "Programs" list in the start menu which will be held in the way I want

On the Start Menu, under the "All programs" list, I want to be able to organize where shortcuts are stored and how they are organized.  I found out how switch to Classic view and do the old-fashioned way.  That took me so far. To illustrate, I don't want the set of displayed utilities kitchen sink.  This is absurd.  So I created folders that go something like this: Office-graphic tools, security tools, tools of money, Web tools, tools, etc.  Then the first time I put for example, Adobe Reader 8 under Web tools. I put Norton under Tools-security, etc.  This means that I don't have to sort through a Visual equivalent of a pile of linen on the floor to find what I need.  It is logically. (When I was finished, I went back in the menu "Classic start", in the Vista Start menu).  It was working fine.

But that is the problem.  Classics view let me do it once, but now that I've updated programs, like I did just for Adobe Reader 9, he puts the shortcut at the top of the list, and he won't let me not drag in the folder I want, or customize any other way.  (Why not?  Users should be able to easily organize their own computer screen. For me, customization is not just by clicking on a list about whether or not he should display something. "It is to logically organize the way you want).  When I return to the classic menu, it does not show the Adobe Reader 9, or some of the other utilties that have been added to the list of programs and to show up when I go to "All programs" but are not where when I return to the option of classic menu-customize-Advanced to customize folders.

Please advise me on how to customize the display, ideally in the version of Vista's Start Menu, instead of having to go back to the classic view, which now does not display the new shortcuts.  Thank you.

    Hi ibydesign,

I know what you mean. Everyone has their own way of organizing and you should be able to logically group things where you want. Whose computer is anyway? There IS a way to organize your own stuff in Vista. If you right click on the button to start, then click on explore all users, it will open Windows Explorer in the (hidden) program data folder. Under Microsoft\Windows\Start Démarrer\Programmes you should see all the files and programs that you want to work with.
