• ID/faces of the people in the Sierra pictures, pulling up the non-functional names

  Someone knows how to fix this? Is it a new setting I'm missing? I've already sent feedback to Apple.

  Photos, when I come across a photo of a person without a name, I can click on the field "no name" and a list of names appears. In the Sierra, however, the list includes names of new non-functional based on the e-mail addresses that are causing problems with my library.

  For example, if I type my name, I see three suggestions:

  1. my full name, with the thumbnail associated with my Photos 'face '.

  2. my full name with my email from Apple below address and the photo of my Contacts entry

  3. my full name with a secondary e-mail, which I have also listed in Contacts, with no tile

  If I take 1, everything works as usual.

  If I take 2 or 3, Photos makes a new person with just my name. It does not automatically fill in the rest of my name. I find myself with two entrances of the person, one with my full name and one with my name. I then merge these. This happens with all the people, not just me.

  I have the same problem. When I want to manually add a face without a name/person, I get very often 2 proposals:

  (1) the person sought with the profile photo, the first name and family name. If a picture is displayed, this means that I have already assigned photos to this person.

  (2) the same person, with or without a profile picture, with name, surname and e-mail. This proposal seems to come from my contacts, because it shows the same profile photo and mail the address I have for this person in my contacts.

  If I add the photo to the contact person, the person is added as a person in Photos. But with only the name, not the name, which is a little ridiculous, especially when you are systematically adding people and having many with the same name.

  I merge the two to get back 1 "individual" in photos, with first and last name (first and last).

  So somehow Photos is not capable of matching 'people' in photos to anyone in my contacts list. Even when you merged the two and said Photos this way they need to be put in correspondence.

  I have three different thumbnails in people named well how to combine them.  I have several empty spaces where people should be, but there is no picture, how to remove them.  It is not clear how to use people without label.  Just choose again and again and click Add, and then select the correct face already established.   What is a face has not already been established and they if a new person?

  To merge people select the thumbnails of the ctrl-click them people. Select this option to merge them in the menu that appears.

  white tiles can occur, if you have deleted the circle of faces of a person or if pictures of this person have been hidden moments. If the photo has been hidden, display it for make visible thumbnail. If you deleted the circle of faces detected for the person, there is nothing you can do right now but in order to hide the empty miniature - select it, Carl-click, then select to hide. It will be moved to the section people hid from the album of the people. Then wait for a bug - fix that will remove the empty thumbnails in the album.

  I quickly learned how to add a person's name in the new facial recognition feature in iOS, but I made a typo in a person's name and saved. How can I go back and change the name of the people? When I press on their behalf, nothing seems to happen.

  Tap Albums > people then the person of your choice.

• Upgrade of the Sierra: where are my pictures!

  Well, I see that a lot of people have this problem but have yet to find an answer to the problem anywhere.  My patience is lost, I despise the fact that I have * money on shit Apple but I need to find my photos.  Stupidly, I'm fallen for Apple BS again and "upgraded" in the Sierra.  Now all my photos and the Organization, that I spent a year are no longer accessible by something else as well as the new 'Photos '.  I never had iPhoto first, never used.  Each thread simple discussion I can find guard speaks of iPhoto and animated for the Photos news images.  I can see the picture files, but all my organization has disappeared; and I can't access my photos of any other application EXCEPT Photos!  If I could find an Apple exec I would slam their face until they cried!

  Someone has a REAL solution to get my photos and the Organization in the way it was before this stupid OS Sierra update?

  I think you should be able to find your photos here ~/Pictures/Photos Library.photoslibrary.

  Presumably, you could also restore your library and its organization of your backup so that you can continue to use any photo library program you usually use.

• Random OS freeze or crash after the Upgrade of the Sierra

  Since the upgrade to Sierra, I started experiencing random freezes or crashes, the operating system.

  In general, I keep the mouse control (connected via trackpad), for at least a certain period of time. However, only the movement is possible - applications cannot be selected, there is no reaction to the clicks, etc. Attempts to pass via cmd + tab don't produce no result.

  I tried waiting for the system to respond. She finally slept, then crashed with a wake on the lack of sleep.

  I got exactly the same problem you describe, on an iMac of retina of 2014. I've updated all non - App Store applications I have thought (and removed dozens of them), disabled launch points, unplugged my USB hub, downloaded EtreCheck (very useful application, incidentally) and road to combing through reports in the Library/Logs folder. On a Reddit thread on the problems with the Macs wake from sleep after installation of Sierra, someone suggested using the following command in a Terminal: kextstat | grep - v com.apple

  The command shows you what non-Apple kernel extensions are running in the background. Extensions of core apps such as Airparrot, strap, and duo caused problems with macOS Sierra. In my case, officer was running a kernel extension - then I deleted this app and went through my library/LaunchAgents and records of the library/LaunchDaemon, remove all items launch left by home and others deleted apps.

  EtreCheck reports said that so-called SIMBL caused several accidents. So I got rid of this, by following the instructions on the site SIMBL.

  Here's the problem: even after all these efforts (and each variant reset, I could think of) troubleshooting, nothing has changed. My Mac always has exactly the symptoms you describe, upon awakening from sleep. Every time.

  In the end I just gave up and restored my iMac to its State, 4 days ago in a backup using Time Machine. (It took 12 hours). With Dropbox, I didn't lose all of the work I've done in the meantime. So, I am now running a stable El Capitan, with an understanding to why people wait a few months before installing the latest OS updates.

  Sorry I can't offer more useful troubleshooting options - but perhaps some things that did not help me could help you anyway? Thanks for posting: it seems that the Sierra has been a pretty smooth update for most people, so I guess we're just out of luck?

• The people in the Photos app clock?

  The people in the Photos app supposed to sync between Mac OS and iOS? Is this an element broken or not supported? Someone please tell me that Apple does not expect me to organize people over and over again on all my devices? That would be quite ridiculous. I've never used the faces feature in previous versions for this reason.

  People are synchronized between devices where you are connected with the same Apple ID.

  I can't test on iOS devices, because only my iPhone can be updated to iOS 10, not the iPad and iPod touch, but the iPhone will not sync with my Mac people.

• Blank thumbnails for people under macOS Sierra

  Hi all! I use an iMac 21.5 ' (end 2013) with the latest Mac OS update of the Sierra (10.12 for the moment).

  I found a strange behavior of the Photos app, using the people album.

  With the help of pictures under Mac OS X El Capitan, I crossed the long process to define all the faces of my friends for each image of my iCloud photo library; I also removed all faces unwanted by pressing the x key.

  Under the Sierra, the Photos app crossed another analysis of the faces still: all the faces I confirmed under El Capitan are still there, but in addition there are plenty of new tiles white in the section "add people" that I can't delete or use.

  I thought something during the scan of people was wrong, so I rebuilt the library of photos, but nothing has changed.

  It turned out that the blank tiles are people I removed (under El Capitan) by pressing the x key. In fact, if you duplicate one of the images affected by this issue, you will find that it recognizes the new faces and the application lists correctly under the section "add people". If you open the image and remove the circles of those faces, you will find that the section "add people" now have black thumbnails.

  I think it is a bug. Next week, I'll call Apple support report.

  In my opinion, the good feature should be the following:

  • If people are recognized on a new photos, these are listed under the heading "add people";
  • If you want to hide them, faces are still recognized by the software, but they do not appear in the list of people;
  • If you want to remove them (by pressing the x on the circle button), the must go to the section "add people" or the "hidden people" section You should be able to rescan single image, image group or the entire library, if you want to return to the previous state.

  I have the same problem, but no solution.

  And I think that the screen "add people" is not very useful, just what is actually more complicated (Photos hiding in Sierra Photos)

  All photos should go the list of 'People' where I can either name or delete (I like your proposal of new analysis to recover).

  I would use 'Hide' for the less well-known people on the main list. But according to leonie it also excludes their pictures of memories.

• Faces of people now will be these sync to the people on the iPhone?

  So all my faces marked the previous version of Photos look to be correctly converted to people with the appropriate names on the new update of Sierra for Photos.

  But will these people tags by synchronized with the iPhone iOS10 app new photos? My iPhone is still scanning of photos, but I wouldn't need to work again on the phone and tell her who are all these faces.

• How can I install applications on the sierra?

  I've just updated to sierra and I don't have any apps from adobe installed. I am trying to install a demo. The CC app is stuck on the loading screen and won't show me a list of apps. • Recognition of people - work stoppages

  I have a problem with PSE8 bugging me.  I had business with support, but without success to date.  The recognition of people started working perfectly for me.  You select a group of photos - beginning of the recognition of equivalence and he would find for example 30 pictures of me and suggests that they are me - you just accept that the entire screen, then it gives another screen of me or someone else.

  However, after tagging for a while he stopped recognizing me (& my wife & son, etc.).  Seems that once a person is 'auto recognized' on 100 - 200 times then it stops.  So now all the pictures of me when I get home in the recognition of the people, he finds the face OK but does not like me.  So, so I have to type my name on each photo.

  Now if these first tags me were called tell 'Adam '.  If now I recognize some of the new as "AdamF" then it simply goes on auto recognizing batch again under this new tag for an another 100 photos or more.  It is not easy way to combine + it should work without having to do that.

  Everyone knows this?  Any ideas?

  I did a test of catalogue of 400 pictures of an adult of average age, taken over a period of 6 years (i.e. the person has not changed that much), and I have observed two distinct effects, which I think represents what have seen you:

  -When I use the button name more people to find people for marking on a lot important pictures, shows PES all the faces, it's safe first, then faces, is less confident, and then those that it is less confident about.   It suggests a particular name for the face, it is more secure, up to three names for those that it is unsafe and not names for those that it is not confident.   While I'm working my way through the jackpot, I see more faces that are less confident, with names suggested less and less.   (Recognition algorithms are statistical, and I saw in one of the files of the program preferences the definitions of these statistical confidence levels).

  -As I tag photos more and more of a person who does not automatically recognize PSE, PSE is less likely to recognize even a 'good' picture of this person (I held a little these photos and marked their last).  As I worked my way through the lot, more pics I scored were not the 'ideal' situation - they are blurred, in dark lighting, or the head is partially turned or tilted.   I think the cause is what presumed you - more diversity of the various plans of a person I scored, more that 'average' features of all these shots have diverged from the characteristics of any one particular, and less that one would be pretty close to the average for exceeding the threshold of trust.  This effect does not occur when you are marking of hundreds of very similar plans.

  When you create a new tag for a person, you create a new "medium" which again gets more and more diluted as you score less-than-ideal of the individual shots.

  To avoid this effect, the user interface should provide a way to create a 'training package' representative photos, and marking more more less representative photos would not be allowed to dilute the 'average' features of this set of training.  But this work well and accessible to the average user complicated sounds.

• MacBook air crashes after the release of sleep since the upgrade of the sierra

  Began to notice that since I upgraded my macbook air 2015 to sierra, system crashes. The trigger is always when I wake the sleep system (whether it is by opening cover or press a key). Issue is intermittent and may not be reproduced every time. I contacted apple support and they recommended resetting the SMC (ctrl + shift + cmd) but that didn't help either. I also did a check of filesystem (fsck-fy) and which seems to be very well so.

  I noticed others seem to be faced with similar problems and a common theme that I noticed was that both we seem to have an installed tardisk. Not sure if this could be a factor?

  While it is not any loss of data, the question is certainly annoying and disruptive to work.

  Since I'm sierra os that the on/off switch does not show me the dialogue window in which you can choose between power, reset, disconnect you.

  This is a problem of Sierra? There is an option in the system Pref?
