Recommendations on domain DR

I'm trying to document our recovery of WebLogic and have some questions about best practices.

(1) if my physical server goes down and I'm trying to get my WebLogic domain name back up as soon as possible on another machine should I:
(a) have the 'unwrapped' field of archive most recent (which had a 'pack' done about it)? (I guess that WebLogic will need to be installed first on the new server and do not appear in the field decompress?)
(b) request a complete copy of the area restored from a copy of the file of the domain? (This would probably have installed first WebLogic)
(c) have the field installed from a model that was built of generator model? (I guess WebLogic should be installed that is not part of the model?)

('B' seems to be the fastest answer to me, but please confirm if there are reservations about this approach and if/why it would be best to use the pack generator or model for this)

(2) here, the assumption that the IP addresses would be the same for new machines, however, if they were not, these just would be a matter of editing the config.xml file to the new IP address? Or is there more to consider?

(3) if the environment is clustered models make (or jar pack) on both servers? (These 2 servers in the cluster ARE registered in the area and therefore have a domain, config.xml.etc... as well).

Thanks in advance for any experience or knowledge on how best to handle this...

Hello
1. I wouldn't recommend unpack approach. First thing, it is, YES, do not install the Weblogic version server exactly the same. Then run unzip command. But the main question is packing and unpacking may not copy all the resources of the domain configuration as a source of data AD/configurations settings, JDBC, JMS stuff etc. If I'm not mistaken in general we use pack/unpack to create managed on the remote machines in an env clustered servers.

2 copy the complete folder field completely, it's a quick and sort of a reliable way to get back in business. Of course, you must have Weblogic Server same version installed in the same exact folder structure. Also if you have any external JDK, you need to install them too. Now if the IP address is different, just modify the config.xml file for updating the new IP address. It's the only place.

3. model is mainly during the development phase. We create a domain, configure all the stuff. Then export it as a model. On the other remote machine, first install weblogic server. Run the Configuration Wizard and create the new domain based on this model. Now, some things are configurable as password etc to the field again. But the point is, you had to do extra work such as the creation of domain etc.

4. If the Env is clustered, do you always model Pack or only from the main master machine that has AdminServer and all other configurations. Because the remote control or other machines with managed servers, just get a copy of master admin machine each time. Then managed servers is just a copy but not the original.

So ideally, have a regular backup of the domain folder and use that is a quick fix. If this fails, use model approach. If that fails, the last option is to pack/unpack.

Thank you

  • iSCSI: migrate a volume NTFS of MS initiator initiator sw ESX

    Hello

We have a host esx 3.5 with a virtual machine running MS Small Business Server 2003.

Inside the virtual machine, it was MS iscsi initiator sw connection via a vNIC dedicated to a LUN iscsi 1 TB (on a target Openfiler 2.2), formatted NTFS (i)

On this LUN there are some MS sql Server 2005 databases that we use for the e-mail archiving with a dedicated application (GFI MailArchiver) and some WSUS related files.

Because our sbs 2003 is a domain controller and multihoming is not recommended on domain controllers (we will have problems), get rid of the vNIC that inside the virtual machine, is dedicated to iscsi, without disrupting the system.

Our idea is to make visible the vm ESX iscsi sw NTFS formatted LUN.

Can help RDM (in physical or virtual compatibility mode?) or is it better to recreate the package (big, 1 TB) NTFS volume like a vmdk to a new volume VMFS on iscsi?

Could you please suggest how can we accomplish this with a minimum off time (possibly step by step)?

    Any help is greatly appreciated

    Thanks in advance

    Hello

Last question: when I change the virtual machine to use a raw disk card, should I specify physical or virtual compatibility mode?

Either work. Use the virtual if you want to be able to use the snapshot and VCB to backup the RDM. Most people use generally physical. You can switch between virtual and physical as well without affecting some data features.

Will it work (maintaining the NTFS content) with the two parameters?

    Yes.

  • Fixed ip address but no domain name

You can configure a server that is not intended to host a Web site, but only a few features such as sharing files, ftp, calendar, etc., with only a fixed IP address? If Yes, what is the simplest step by step through OS x.app for el Capitan?

The short answer is: Yes you can! However, do not use the local point in your full domain name as it is reserved for the Hello. I would also advice against the use of the private area of dot, but rather to get and use a registered domain space. The reasoning behind it: you may change your mind later, normally sooner rather than later!

Now for the nitty gritty: there are several excellent resources available on the net and in the App Store.

I will quote a couple for you:

http://krypted.com/guides/El-Capitan-Server/ by Charles Edge , who is also the author of a few very good books

I highly recommend the three books by Reid Bondonis available on the App Store for El Capitan. They are worth every penny.

Then there's the series of video tutorials by Todd Olthoff at http://www.toddolthoff.com/technology/ECS10.11.html

In addition, directly from Apple, you can and should https://help.apple.com/serverapp/mac/5.1/#/apd6015d9573 for a lot of information.

Finally, last but not least there are a multitude of resources available to Apple - Support - manuals

  • Problem with deleting old domain.

I use a Windows Server 2008 R2, the following errors that appear in the Active Directory Domain Services role.

    Question:
The emulator operations master primary domain controller in this forest is not configured to synchronize correctly valid time of a time source.

    Impact:
If the master of emulator main domain controller in this forest is not configured to synchronize correctly time to a time source is valid, it can use its internal clock for the time synchronization. If the master of emulator main domain controller in this forest fails or is otherwise no longer available (and if you have not set up a time server reliable (GTIMESERV) in the domain root forest), other member computers and DCs in the forest will not be able to synchronize their time.

    Resolution:
Set the PDC emulator master in this forest to synchronize time with a reliable external time source. If you have not set up a reliable time server ((GTIMESERV) GTIMESERV) in the forest root domain, set the PDC emulator master in this forest to synchronize time with a hardware clock that is installed on the network (the recommended approach). You can also set the PDC emulator master in this forest to synchronize time with an external time server by running the command w32tm/config /computer:WS2008R2-DC.relianceinfotech.net /manualpeerlist:time.windows.com /syncfromflags:manual / Update. If you have set up a time server reliable (fiable (GTIMESERV) GTIMESERV) in the forest root domain, set the master of emulator main domain controller in this forest to synchronize the time from the domain hierarchy forest by w32tm/config /update /computer:WS2008R2-DC.relianceinfotech.net running domhier root.

    and another question

    Question:
The relianceinfotech.net field is that a single domain controller works.

    Impact:
In case of failure on the domain only of the domain controller, users will be able to connect to the access or domain resources.

    Resolution:
Add one or more additional domain controllers to the domain to manage authentication and authorization requests where there is a failure on the domain controller available unique in the field.

the problem is that I don't have a relianceinfotech.net this area is the last and the area in which work now is relianceti.net. I just want to know how to solve that and remove these warnings of projection.
