Recommendations/tips for a beginner contributor?

Hey all!

I started to contribute to communities of support today, but the interface may seem a little tricky to work with sometimes. I was hoping that some useful people would be willing to share tips/advice for someone new in the region!

Currently, I am just by clicking on the 'Content' link and refreshing for the new questions to answer, although sometimes sorted by "involved" to follow up on the questions answered. Really hoping to find some easier ways to use to check on different communities or focus on specializations.

Thanks in advance!

Take a look at this plan of the Site communities and categories.

Sorry for the basic question, but I would like to know the advantage of robohelp, say that dreamweaver, for the creation of an online help site.

    Second question:

Can robohelp create a stand-alone help utility that can be installed on a local computer or be emailed? If so, this would open in Internet Explorer? Would need expertise in programming for this?

    Thank you

    B

Yes, eBooks are created with RoboHelp HTML to create content such as WebHelp. It is then fed into some eBook software that I purchased separately. EBook software compiles pages WebHelp in the EXE, affects the security and other options.

  • Fusion/Windows 7 tips & questions for a beginner

Hey guys (and girls) I've been a linux user especially lately so I more or less missed the boat on windows 7 but I'm looking to load on my MBP, but I have a few newbie questions if can help people.  I tried to do a search, but I think that my terminology or the lack of good conditions got in my way.

Some background information, I use a unibody MBP with 4 GB of ram 5.1 which has Snow Leopard and VMware fusion 3.01.

I am interested in what would work well with the merger of two ways, bootcamp vs install a vmdk and 64-bit vs 32-bit...

First of all is it an advantage to running vmware fusion with bootcamp, IE merge use the bootcamp partition?  What I see better performance if I instead of use the bootcamp created a virtual machine (vmdk) within the merger?

Second question is about 32-bit vs 64-bit. I'm under 4gig of RAM which I will devote only 2gig in vmware. Is it interesting (stability, or performance) to the use of 64-bit within the fusion flavor (vm installed not bootcamp) or I'll be better with 32-bit installation?

If I'm melting point using the bootcamp partition, is third question - interesting to settle current with the 64-bit or 32-bit.  It's merger would provide more performance with the bootcamp windows 7 32 bit, and vice versa (or it does not matter)

Fourth question, seems, the fusion installs things when you use the bootcamp partition and I guess I'll need to install the tools as well.  That will cause problems, or headaches when I boot physically in training camp, that is, drivers of devices for non-existent devices. What video, nvidia 9600 m in bootcamp vs virtual gpu fusion provides.  I can't wait to see problems when I turned off and restart under bootcamp.

Last question, I will visit the hell of activation if the bootcamp partition uses two cores, but I just dedicate a molten core when you point the merger to use the bootcamp partition. I don't want to always have to re - activate win7 because when I boot in bootcamp, he sees two hearts but merger only when.

    Thanks in advance

take a deep breath... OK... =)

Firstly there is an advantage to running vmware fusion with bootcamp

You get better performance out of hard in this instance. With the help of a physical disk is not the OS X volume would be better than BootCamp, but of course only applicable on a Mac Pro. Rationale: with multiple partitions, the needle on the hard disk has a long way to the second partition, back and forth all the time between Windows and Mac does travel. A hard, as a general rule, would include a contiguous space due to the Mac file system optimizing the layer of block on the fly.

The advantage of using BootCamp is if you need to take advantage of the full potential of the Mac hardware in a dedicated Windows environment. Such use might be to, say, play games of high quality, latest (Call of Duty, anyone?), at higher resolutions / great detail. Ditto for just about any application for Windows which needs a beefy video system (OpenGL rendering, CAD, stuff like that)

Is it interesting (stability, or performance) to the use of 64-bit within the fusion flavor (vm installed not bootcamp) or I'll be better with 32-bit installation?

I would say that no, there is no significant advantage to the use of 64 vs 32 bit in a virtual machine. Stick to 32, it is more compatible with the software and any equipment that you choose to give to Windows (driver for 64-bit stuff support is usually OK, but there is no compelling reason to do it in a virtual machine)

If I'm melting point using the bootcamp partition, is third question - interesting to settle current with the 64-bit or 32-bit.

Windows 7 is not supported by BootCamp by Apple, so probably 64 bit will not be 100% working drivers.

Fourth question, seems, the fusion installs things when you use the bootcamp partition and I guess I'll need to install the tools as well.

We install tools (drivers and additional software), as well as some tips for handling activation. So we keep some of the files that Windows uses to verify that it has been activated, but due to the change in material Windows must activate two times. Record us each activation, detect when Windows runs in our VM and present key information and activating appropriate to the operating system (to keep him from having to activate every time you pass ="

What video, nvidia 9600 m in bootcamp vs virtual gpu fusion provides. I can't wait to see problems when I turned off and restart under bootcamp.

I did not talk about all issues related to the video does not when it is started normally. Windows detects that hardware is present at startup, check if it uses drivers and goes from there.

Last question, I will visit the hell of activation if the bootcamp partition uses two cores, but I just dedicate a molten core when you point the merger to use the bootcamp partition

N ° again, we keep the profile "enabled" and save it.  When the BONE is introduced in the merger, we use our activation profile.  When you started in native mode, it uses that have never appeared by activating in Bootcamp.

The direct answer to 'can I use bootcamp or hard' would be: depends on what you want to do with the virtual machine.  If it's general things, you're good... If you're a gamer or CAD designer, BootCamp is a good option.  =)

    Hi Paul,.

This article was created when users have faced problem with old drivers for AMD graphics card.

Yes, you can upgrade to the last 16.1 pilots and who should work well however, you should have 1 GB VRAM or more to take advantage of the GPU processors.

Try to press T to activate the toolbar. Maybe the toolbar is disabled and that's why you don't see the Finish button.

  • Can you suggest a host for a beginner using dreamweaver?

Hello!  I am a total web construction beginner so please be nice :-)  I built most of my site using dreamweaver, but I have problems to get in touch with technical support to my chosen host (lunar pages).  Supposedly they offer 24/7 support, but it took me about 10 hours to talk to someone after three calls waiting for 30 minutes each, but also to present a ticket online.  Before going further I think cancellation of my payment by credit card with them and from new with a new domain on a new host to avoid dealing with DNS transfer.  Anyone has a suggestion for a good host for a beginner by downloading a dreamweaver site?  I'm looking for a host who will have an easy learning curve (because I'm new), uses cpanel, has a quick and quality technical support and supports PHP and MySQL.  I want a legitimate company with no BS.  Of course, price is a factor, but I'm willing to pay more if the quality of the company is worthy of it.   I work on a mac, if it's at all important.  Any suggestions are greatly appreciated as it was difficult for me to assess through searches random review hosting companies. Thank you in advance for your help!

  • Y at - it a tip for Undo and Redo to work?

I tried all possible ways to use two fingers to swipe back, but I can't get the cancellation or reinstatement for work on my iPad mini. Does anyone have any tips for this?

The gesture is not easy to use and it is only available for cutting and selection in the content-aware fill then we actually disabled in our 1.0.1 update. We are the reworking in our next release.

If you really want to try, keep your two fingers on the screen and quickly swipe left or right. Keep your fingers too long will turn the pan gesture. I hope this helps.

  • What is the recommended API for reading/analysis of XML in Java files?

    Hello, everyone!

In my application, I have to read a XML file. I think that Java has several APIs to parse XML files and as I am new to this, I would like to know from you what is the recommended Java for this API.

    Thank you.

    Marcos

Unless you plan to edit nodes and I would recommend that you use a Sax parser, which is a lot less hunger of memory as a DOM parser. The DOM parser to read the entire document in memory for the manipulation of the user.
If you are looking only to read the document and extract specific values then a DOM parser would be an exaggeration. If you are planning leave the document unchanged then a SAX parser is the way to go - a little more complex to write but worth the extra as it will be faster and more scalable.

  • Recommended value for the BAM data expiration time

    Hello

Can someone tell me what is the recommended value for the BAM data expiration time?

Enterprise Server default is 24 hours, but I would like to be able to raise the average runtime instance after several months. Is it reasonable to the value of the time-out value a high value? Or it will have an impact on the performance of BPM/BAM?

    Thanks in advance.

    Best regards
    CA

Normally, we keep the BAM data expiration time at halfway with 24 to 72 hours. For historical reports that you are looking for the Data Mart / Data Warehouse DB are more logical. This database stores the data forever and takes pictures at longer intervals, normally 24 hours. These data are not in time real normally then because a capture instant is only taken once per day but will give you historical reports that you are looking for. The data from this database structure is almost identical to the BAM DB.

  • Recommendations for a beginner building a gaming pc?

I'm looking to build my own gaming pc and have selected the following:

Case: iBUYPOWER ARC 647 Gaming Chassis

Card mother + processor: processor Intel Core i7-3770 (4 x 3.40 GHz), BYO Bundle

    RAM: 16GB G.Skill Ripjaws

Hard drive: 500 GB 7200 RPM hard drive

Graphics card: NVIDIA GeForce GT 640 2 GB GDDR3 PCI Express 3.0 graphics card

Hard drive: 24 X DVD +/-RW DL Optical Drive

operating system: Microsoft Windows 7 Professional, 64-Bit Edition

First question: this combination of work?

    Second question: the recommendations/changes?

Third and last question: do I need anything else? (I already have a monitor, keyboard, mouse and speakers).

    Any help is appreciated

Unless money is no object, and you want a profitable gaming PC, do not think that 'CPU' and a lot of RAM fantasy, think "video card" since it is the top priority for the games. Also think ahead and think of versatility of the platform because at some point (often with players), you'll want to change this or that.

Think that bang for your buck!... and I don't see it in the choice of your combo and map.

A mid range CPU price is a lot. Spend over $ $300 on an i7 CPU is a waste of money, one player, unless you have the high-end card to go with it. Get the best card you can afford and a high quality POWER supply (corsair is very good) remarks 650w as him more you'll need, unless for muti-screens and maps high power binoculars.

Save money on the ram 1333 standard, you will not see any difference in ram fancy. Not more than 8GB will be lost and never used, regardless of the game or the PC software you can use. I never needed more than 8 GB (for the most part not more than 4/6 GB) and outside of the game, I use a lot of ram heavy Photoshop).

Personally I would go an AMD platform any day for the game, because you'll save a bundle a decent multi-socket AM3 / AM2 + / AM2 board and CPU AMD Phenom x 4 around 2.8 to 3.4 GHz combo, or if you want to spend a little more, the new FX range CPU a combo of Council AM3 +.  You will be miles ahead $ wise, now and in the future.

Try this for the price and performance of killer game next to a platform of intel similar price:

CPU: AMD FX 6300 Black Edition
    Motherboard: Gigabyte a 970-DS3P (socket AM3 +)
    Card: ASUS Radeon R9 270 X
    RAM: 8 GB DDR3 1333 mhz (2x4gb)
PSU: Corsair CS650M (try to get a box without power SUPPLY, because they usually poor quality PSUS in comparison).

Combining perfectly and for its money!

Of course any that in the intensive use of the PC multi-threading (video editing), and do not play, I'd go intel Sandy Bridge every time if I could afford it.

  • Recommendations material and tips for network client 100

    Hello

We are currently looking at creating a wireless network separated very basic for a client in two adjacent large cabins (3 m of distance) that can support up to 100 clients max simultaneously. It will only be for entrepreneurs to access basic internet, web mail, etc. connections. There is no existing infrastructure to connect to, so let's look at an internet connection for a form, a small switch and the wireless network. Range isn't a problem because they are next to each other it's support for such an amount of connections. I thought that a cluster of 2-4 WAP321 configuration might be a little tense and we could get questions like the number of simultaneous connections gets nearly 100. I also watched a couple of standalone Aironet 1600 s, one in each cabin.

The network itself is very basic, because it is literally just shared internet access but I need to make sure it is reliable with 100 connected clients.

I rang pre-sales tech, but they were not mcuh help and sounded like they knew less than I, so any help would be appreciated.

    Concerning

    Harry

    Dear Harry,

Thank you to the small community of Support Business.

By checking on the WAP321 data sheet, I see:

-Recommended user support-up to 32 users connective, 20 active users

-Active clients by cluster = 80

I agree with you when you say "could be a little tense and we could get questions like the number of simultaneous connections gets nearly 100", that's why I suggest you go for a business, a range like the Aironet1600 input device you mention.  In any case I would contact you the pre-sales team or support thread-mobility advice and a community helps further.

Thank you for your time on this matter and please let me know if there is something I can help you with in the meantime.

    Kind regards
