Hello world

I am trying to Setup has a network of development for one of my developers.  Here's what we want to do:

2 Windows Server 2003 systems, a Windows 7 system

one will be a domain controller for a domain of dev, and WSUS

One will be the Exchange 2007 System

Box of Windows 7 will be a member of the domain and connect to Exchange.

We want the domain controller to get out of the internet to get updates, but does not interfere with the updated field. The area of Exchange should be able to talk to the Windows 7 box and the domain controller.

I tried to put this together and I can get the DC talk to internet using the bridge or the NAT mode, but I can't seem to get the other systems to talk to the domain controller.  All three systems have 1 segment of LAN on them (the domain controller also has a connection NAT/BRIDGE)

Any help would be appreciated, or if anyone can provide me with a document that I could follow, would be great.

Thanks in advance

Since you want to limit communications to just three

systems/VM using the guest network only between them will

you give it to. It will isolate your LAN and regular field as

Well. Since you were talking about just having the DC out of the Windows updates, it makes more sense to have everything in the sandbox. You can also think to implement the domain controller to also perform WSUS functions to other systems so that they never need to go to the internet for updates.

Network invited only is for the creation of isolated networks that don't affect all segments of the LAN network wherever you go. With the domain controller in the mixture, you'll be able to have the full domain feature in this sandbox. If you leave the DC with the connection to the regular LAN, someone from the management team of network, or a righteous person browsing the network, could it (or subsequently) see this area and raise questions on this subject. It is much easier to have the network of bubbles on your system, which does not, connect only to explain why it has yet another (foreign) area on the network.

  • I have a laptop running XP pro with office 2003. All of a sudden all the folders and files in the folders have read only attribute applied.

This make all folders on the computer and all the files stored inside. The individual files are not performed. If I remove read-only folders and files and click OK, reopen the file and the attribute has been applied.
Any solution to this problem s.

    Dave

It's not a problem... it is a feature.

At a time in the past, Windows has decided that the read-only attribute means nothing, because it applies to files, so Microsoft 'solved' this bit to indicate to whom the file has been customized.  There are other methods available if you really don't want to do a write-protected file.  The details are explained in the following Microsoft KB article.  I recommend reading the article in full to understand what Microsoft did...

"You can not view or change the read-only or the attributes of system files in Windows Server 2003, Windows XP, Windows Vista or Windows 7"

  • Recommended settings for network locations

Having a problem with setting up of parameters with my computer running on the same network, please help! Margaret Egan

It's a very difficult question without a LOT more information.  I will try to provide you with some useful items and then some general comments on the process. Then, if necessary, you may answer specific questions and information needed to review and make suggestions on them (reinforced by a better overall knowledge networking and get a better idea of what I need to know to be able to address these issues).

Here are the procedures for Vista with Windows7 networking (if this is part of the situation) who can help:http://www.windowsnetworking.com/articles_tutorials/Windows-7-Understanding-Network-Administration-Configuration.html.

Here is another article on home networks (with several links to related articles which must all be considered - as well as others, you will find in the related articles) to help you better understand the home networks: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows-vista/Setting-up-a-home-network.  If it's for Vista, much of it applies to Windows7 (although there may be some differences that should be addressed in the previous article).

Here is an article on the networking of the various versions of Windows (I'm not sure about your situation):http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows7/Networking-home-computers-running-different-versions-of-Windows.

I hope this helps. If necessary, start from scratch using these procedures and see if that helps.  The "recommended" settings depend very much on the configuration of your network, the types of devices, operating systems concerned (you can have different versions of Windows and even Linux or Mac included), how internet access is integrated, how everything is connected and a number of other factors.  This varies a lot - I have seen many, many different configurations (of which some were good and some who needed a few adjustments to improve or fix them).  To know the best for you (or offer a specific recommendation), I would need to know a LOT more about all of the things mentioned above and the points mentioned in the articles and what you want to achieve and allowed in terms of sharing and access between the computers and the network is how big and what type of network is (workgroup or domain) and how the internet is obtained and integrated (shared PC modem with a router and what type) router,...) and how much the desired security (on the computers and the network - especially if it is wireless) and a lot of other things (possibly including manuals or detailed information about the devices and computers that you use).  I recommend read you or at least see these articles (and those below if they apply) and see if they answer your questions. If not and if you have specific questions, provide me with the information required to be able to try to answer these questions (something you know a lot better after reviewing the articles and maybe try some configuration options to see how they work).  What you ask is something that is extremely difficult to do by the messages of the forum - I really need to see the configuration and talk a little bit about your needs and desires.  I'll do what I can, but perhaps we should consider hiring a network specialist (a true specialist, NOT a person from the Geek Squad or any place like that) to visit your site and do it in person.  And then, after reading these articles and try things yourself and asking specific questions based on what you feel with these efforts, we are well able to accomplish it without hiring anyone. We will consider a step at a time.  Start by reviewing the articles and then a little experiement with your configuration (maybe to start from scratch now that you know so much more, and see what you can accomplish).

    Good luck!

    P. S.

If you use a wireless network, the settings can be a little different.  While some of which is referred to above, here are a few articles specifically on wireless networks that can help if this is how you setup (or wireless is involved or you want him involved):

Here is a tutorial on how to set up a home network (including a wireless)-click on additional links for more information that may be helpful:http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows-vista/Setting-up-a-home-network.  This article could actually be above as well as here as it covers both - so, even if you do not use wireless, you can consult this article in any case.

Here is an article on troubleshooting network connections wireless (with links):http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows-vista/Troubleshoot-network-connection-problems.

Here's a long guide on wireless internet connections in Vista:http://www.techwarelabs.com/guides/misc_mod/vistaconnection/.

  • ReadyBoost Windows 7 Pro 64 bit works only not with the reader flash 32 GB USB high speed...

    Hello

I did what I could find in support.microsoft.com search/read them all using ReadyBoost on my Windows 7 Professional 64 - bit, because he seemed much more cost-effective to install a properly sized USB key from the bombings of hundreds of dollars to replace and modernize the planks of installed RAM, I, 4x2Gb @ 1066

    My basic material is:

    Intel i7 920 CPU using Gigabyte EX58 - UD3R-MOBO with 8 GB of RAM installed 1066.

According to the info I've read ReadyBoost, the ratio is 4:1 for the size of the Flash drive compared to installed RAM or, in my case, a 32 GB USB device.

I had the OCZ Rally2 32 GB because it tested faster about 30 GB Read and 5 to 10 MB write.

When I go to activate the USB 32 GB for ReadyBoost flash drive, I get the "impossible... to use this device to ReadyBoost...". "error message.

    TWO QUESTIONS:

1 knowing that my USB 32 GB current is at a speed of 31 GB read/6-10 MB write and can be replaced if necessary:

    a. y at - it a necessary range of recommended read/write speed?

    2. further, saying: the range of tested USB disk read/write speed are correct or I will get a correct drive 32 GB and with 8 GB of RAM currently installed.

b is it? or what is the advantage in any computer processing speed using a 32 Gb USB flash drive when it is 8 GB of RAM installed (knowing that a replacement/upgrade RAM is off-budget for the foreseeable future)?

Finally, I pass first OCZ support but received no conclusive answers.

    1st answer to yesterday 20:11

Win7 is limited to 32 GB size by device for ReadyBoost. I've seen this problem before when the USB key is at the maximum limit. Never seen a work around so.

AND, more interesting for me, 2nd answer:

Few people I know with this problem that I've never heard of a solution. I don't know anyone who devoted a lot of effort as with 8 GB of memory system is not a necessity for ReadyBoost so they just moved.

NOTE: The support guess I are underutilizing the 8 GB of RAM installed. In fact, due to the needs work I will typically have anywhere for applications and utilities operating at 20-35 someone time, using 4-6 GB of RAM at peak use.
    Ideas?  Suggestions?
    Thank you.
    John

    Hi John,.

A flash drive may appear to meet the requirements, but Windows may detects it not as compatible ReadyBoost if its rated speed measures sequential and random performance and performance is not always quick on the set of the flash player.

Look for a note from the manufacturer that the flash player is Compatible Windows ReadyBoost. Not all manufacturers of this list on their packaging.

You can check with another flash drive

    Answering your questions

    a. speed for Windows ReadyBoost requirements are at least 2.5 MB per second throughput for random readings of 4 kilobytes (KB) and 1.75 MB per second throughput for 512 k random entries.

Using memory in your storage device to speed up your computer

    (Article is for Windows 7)

    b. ReadyBoost acts as a cache of HARD disc (hard drive) and is not a replacement for direct system memory. It will not improve processing speed, but will help the launch of faster applications and push background applications that serve much in memory reserved ReadyBoost.

  • Who is the last recommended build?

    Hello

I would like to know what TLF build recommend you the TLF team?

I realize that the framework is still not in a production quality but right now it's confusing what build to use.

    -The November 2008

-The one included in the last major milestone in Flex 4

    -The latest version of night

    -Something else

For example can you assume that the last 4 Flex milestone should be a bit more stable since it belongs to a milestone release?

I'm not sure, because until recently of TLF and Flex 4 builds were not completely synchronized.

All information (I realize this isn't an official statement) could help and potentially save time for people who want to grow with TLF.

    Thank you!

Our apologies for the confusion! It is part of the reason why we provide is more weekly builds on the Labs page. TLF and Flex builds are now synchronized. Here's my recommendation:

-> If you are using Flex, and TLF - stage of the use of the last major Flex 4. You'll want the stability of a milestone Flex release for your other components.

-> If you are using TLF, but * not * using Flex - Grab the textlayout.swc out the last nightly build of Flex 4. This will help you follow the latest TLF

I do not recommend using the version of November 2008, unless you use the component for Flash Professional CS4.

  • T500 Sauter display... Boy is - this one a doozie

I have a devil of a problem on my hands. I am a tech PC to support a company that exclusively uses materials of Lenovo/IBM. Our last deployment of laptops has been the T500 2241-58U. Us have been deploying these machines with an image of WinXP pre-built on them and so far have been reasonably pleased with them.

However, I was out at random different users reports on shaking poster on their laptops. Specifically as windows, icons and nothing else on the screen moves back, from left to right on the screen. I have not seen this question first-hand nor have I been able to recreate it. However, I had a user record nicely this behavior using their smart phone and then show me the reading.

The only information that I have to go on is this video and consistent reports that this problem occurs when the user connects to the laptop on the adapter of the provider. I've not seen this exact problem before and troubleshooting it is difficult because I can't recreate the question. After all, how can fix you something if you don't know what's broken? Driver updates and HDD swaps in other chassis T500 did not provide reliable results. In these cases, the problem is not returned, but it was sporadic at first could not really be corrected.

I don't know that I can describe it correctly the symptoms. Therefore, I have uploaded the video to my youtube account and a link is displayed at the bottom of the page. If anyone has seen this and knows what it is or how to fix this, please respond as soon as POSSIBLE.

    The screen flicker

I'm sure that I finally got it nailed. By a previous suggestion, I started to dig into the Intel Graphics Managment utility that is installed with the driver. In the "Display settings" box, there is a "Power settings" button directly underneath the image rotation options. This will open a window that gives me a scroll bar with a number of options ranging from "Best energy savings" to "turn off the energy savings.

As suggested, this image of pre-built WinXP is ours. It seems that our configured imaging team this driver to 'save custom energy"- which seems to have some select settings. I did some experimenting and found that I could probably recreate the question if I changed the setting to "best energy savings. When I did this and fell from power from the battery to the power adapter, I received with a brief black screen and then the graphics glitch. If I changed the setting 'Disable saving energy', I had no black screen or graphical glitch when you perform the same test.

I did some more research and discovered that the current driver we use is 6.14.10.5029 with a date of 21/01/2009 - severely out of date stamp! - and that the most recent displayed on the Lenovo site for this model is 6.14.10.5220 with a date stamp of 04/02/2010. I'll do some tests with the new driver. If I find any problems, I will recommend to our imaging team that they update the repository driver with this version of the driver.

Honestly, I wish that they would keep it upward with the tests and the updating of our sets of driver for our machines. I decided to go digging around in the Device Manager and found that most of the installed drivers are severely behind and may in fact be the original released drivers for the model.

Thanks for any help on this!

  • If we are stuck in a preaching content room echo? The key to effective content marketing?

My kids, like almost all children I've ever met, wanted a lot of things (although they never really do want for nothing). Toys for games in going places with friends, they always ask things. And these things kind of make them happy, at least a little bit. Maybe "calm" is a better description.

But ultimately, it is more of the same. They have so much more just, gets more. It is no different, and it does not have their interest. And it is not long after the chorus of "I'm bored" begins. However, it's a great feeling as a parent when you give something to your children that they did not ask who becomes their favorite. Sometimes it something as simple as a puzzle that defies the problem solve and experience of satisfaction in the performance of a task. Other times it is not an element, but rather an experience like spending the day at the zoo where they discover something for the first time. They understand and create memories. They didn't know they wanted either really, but it allowed them to explore and imagine in a way that caught their attention.

Similarly, I think that many companies and marketers have taken approach "more is better" without taking into account that the public really needs. Somebody needs really another white paper, e-book, or webinar? No, actually at the most basic, this isn't what they never wanted. What they wanted was an answer to their question, to learn something, or possibly entertainment.

  • 3 servers on a network

I need to test my servers (I have 3) in its own environment, I don't want it to be attached to my network. each server must be able to access the other server. What would be the best product for this? Workstation?

Go easy on me I'm a newbie

    Thank you, Mark Schwartz.

VMWare workstation is a "TEAM" environment, i.e. a set of VM customers you assemble one at a time and add to the team (such as Favorites.)  They can be launched as a greoup and be configured together (to some extent).

Because of its cost and ease, I recommend starting with VMWorkstation and choosing virtual machine networking options that isolate your test invited for at least the rest of the network. It's easier as it may seem, and workstation has a game of virtual network cards as default to choose options. Once you get the guests configure, you can test their interaction with your host machine, or the rest of the network. Modification of network connectivity is direct (or at least as simple as it is on a physical device).

Points to remember: you don't have at least one physical host and as Guest OS licenses as needed... this software is not a 'environment' where you are subscribed to the operating system and the hardware.

In addition, the host computer must play the role of several machines, so it needs function properly. Good news is the prompt that OS can page to disk, so memory can be used effectively by the VMWorkstation environment.

I'm new on this, but the main thing for me was, try to download the eval of workstation first and work through the pain before moving from and to the top.

I hope this helps and that my opinions are confirmed by others, or corrected if necessary!

  • Trouble installing CS5 second Mac disks

Thanks in advance for reviewing our 2 problems:

    1. my wife bought a 3 disc version 'students and teachers of license' CS5 Design Standard 8 months ago. The retrievel of coupon code and serial number has gone well, and 3 discs installed perfectly on his late 2010 Macbook Pro, OS 10.6.8.  Now, she would like to install it on a whole new 21.5 "Imac, OS 10.7.2. Gray Acrobat 9 pro disc opened correctly, but 2 disks of CS5 orange make a whirring noise for a few seconds, go silent, and the disc icon appears, as if the computer does not recognize the drive. Is it because of the most recent OS update (the current CS5 system requirements found elsewhere on this website don't list OS 10.7 as a viable operating system)?  She will get another CS5, or is there a workaround?  If it's important, Photoshop is version 12.0 x 64...  Any advice?

    2. we visited the adobe site earlier today to confirm numbers recovered several months ago. After you carefully enter the product code (3 attempts), a message appeared that the code was not valid. Yet, when I click on the "lost serial number" recovery button, the same code is recognized perfectly, the correct serial number is displayed. Indeed, a single page approves all my numbers, and another page called my invalid promo code. Is there a real person who can be contacted to run the codes and serial numbers to confirm their? Thank you for taking the time to at least read my investigations.

    Hello

In reference to your 1st question, I would say try to navigate the disk via the finder and copy the contents of the disk on your desktop. It will help to narrow down the cause of the problem. In case you are able to copy the files, you can start the installation from your desktop.

For your second question, I would recommend contacting our support team.

You can contact support by calling the phone numbers listed on this page 'Contact Adobe Support' or by using this link to contact our representatives of the cat: http://adobe.ly/tl8Vx7.
