• 1394 on Latitude E5420 capture drops frames

  Hi all

  My first post on this forum. I sincerely hope I can find a solution to a problem that left me speechless. When capturing DV to a Sony DCR-TRV330E the fall canned E5420 firewire connection managers intermittently.

  That's what I tried to reduce or eliminate the problem:

  • Put the DVCAM in camera mode; The result is a live stream to capture that excludes Ribbon errors
  • Closed all unnecessary programs, including antivirus programs
  • All readers of defragmentation
  • Captured on a non-system drive
  • Search the latest Microsoft drivers (the E5420 1394 adapter uses the generic Microsoft driver)
  • Search for the latest Dell drivers
  • Toggled commercial capture. All show exactly the same problem, including Windows Live Photo Gallery. Currently, using ScenalyzerLive.
  • Exchanged firewire cables
  • Retry with the machine to different power options
  • Disabled for the 1394 interface power management
  • All the other usual advice for problems capture firewire...

  The system is completely not accentuated by the firewire plug. Often everything works beautifully. The processor registers barely 1 per cent, captures by - put is in the region of 3.5 ~ 4 Mbps, ScenalyzerLive is showing simply no storage bottlenecks etc. In fact, things are so strong, and then I was able to backup hard disk during capture without errors or the other side.

  Then out of the blue a framework would be deleted. This seems to happen in batches. There will be periods where no frames removed, no matter what I throw on the system. Then there would be periods where a framework gets moved, all the outside a few minutes or sometimes narrower.

  I noticed two interesting things in this regard. The first is that the interval between the drops of the frame is often close to multiple minutes, or even half-minutes. This asked me if a background task is regularly check or do something and trip over the capture in the process.

  The second happened by looking at the task for this Manager. Once I was able to take a drop of current frame, so to speak. As the frame of the fall occurred, the process then visible in Task Manager list had their "Memory (private working set)" adjusted. All at the same time!

  Can what conclusions I get out of here, if anything? What would be the next things to watch? Any other suggestions and welcomed warmly help!

  The machine has a processor i5 - 2540M 2.6 GHz, 4 GB RAM and is installed with Windows 7 32 bit SP1.

  HI - can any please tell me "what is frameless display? I got my Y530 today but he got an image from all sides... I just wanted to know what exactly lenovo means saying 'frameless '... Or is it specific to all models? Mine is 40516AU...

• Removal of Capture of frames?

  I use the Adobe CS6 of first Creative cloud to capture a video stream coming from a panel of broadcast ATEM 1 M/E, enter into the computer using a BlackMagic DeckLink Mini recorder via a SDI connection.

  Any time by the Capture window to record the live stream the Panel, coming at random times preview and timecode freeze, indicating a frame has dropped, and the capture stops just at this moment. I have allocated 6.5 GB of RAM for the program of first and make sure that no other program running in the background with the exception of my antivirus software. The last time this happened it was due to my nVidia card that requires an update for the drivers, but this time it is not the case because I checked and checked to make sure that the latest drivers are installed for everything on the computer.

  I used the BlackMagic disk speed program to verify that writing and reading speeds to first target drive is recording to, and I'm getting between 150-183 MB/s for read and write speeds after running the test three times.

  Does anyone have an idea what to do to fix this a loss of image? I'm happy to provide additional information for first capture settings and output of the ATEM Panel settings.

  Jacob, when you capture using the Black Magic Media Express software, you have the ability to capture the non-compressed, or as video MJPEG (zipped file) using the codec of black magic. No other material is needed to 'compress' video, which is done during capture. Please check your capture settings. If it says 8 or 10-bit uncompressed, there is the question.

  I shot some video with my Z30 in 720 mode and was able to play it on Windows Media Player and metadata seem to be all there.  However, I switched the camera in 1080 mode and now the files are missing some metadata.  Specifically, Frame Rate, Frame Width and Frame Height and they will not play on Windows Media Player.  I've switched back to 720 mode but now have lost the metadata for this mode and 720 video play is no longer.  Any thoughts?

  I downloaded VLC Media Player (which is a free download) and played the videos perfectly. If you have this problem, I suggest you do the same thing. Just Google it.

  I already tried many things and have not found anything with google.

  In the first CC, I'm working on a video, where I have to redo a voice. When I activate a track to record my voice it works fine, but it's playing my voice, which is annoying. I've already found, how to reduce the delay, but I want to turn it off completely. What I don't want is to cut my computer, because I have to listen to the sounds and music for the contribution.

  Probably it's an easy fix, but I don't know what to try anymore. I work on Win10, but I think, that first is the cause of the problem. Stereomix and etc are disabled.

  I have a few images that I'm cleaning for a video testimonial. Its an interview against a green screen to sit. The subject is filmed with a slight angle look the interviewer (not in picture), rather than continue straight.

  The problem I've encountered is that there is a small part of his glasses that extend beyond the face and sunglasses are rimless. Tips to the top on the Green and still have it look semi-realiste (final production is an online video on the web, that will be a lower resolution, so I need it to be perfect.

  I took a look at the your jpg. It is compressed can be so I can't give you a good formula. Thre are also many artifacts of color that I suspect that the original footage is DV. This is not an insurmountable problem.

  Here's what I'd do. I would like to make several copies of the sequence, each with masks to isolate a specific area of the key. I had a bit of success, simply drawing a Matt circle around the problem area, then entered just for the drinks. The green screen is not very uniformly lit so you can not shoot a unique key for the whole shot.

  I hope it's clear. I should put in place an advanced tutorial picture one of these days. What you do, is each of the caches to combine each of the problem areas, until you get a full cache. If I had much better jpg or even a png or Photoshop from the original separate field file might give you a keylight for lenses formula.

• Spent 680 GTX to the 770, now MPE is disabled and the recording will not work in CS6.

  I recently had to return an EVGA GeForce 680 via RMA failure, and as EVGA was more than 680's in stock they sent me a 770 instead.

  I installed the card and reinstalled the latest drivers, and I got this error message when you open a project (CS6):

  "This project has been modified used with Mercury Playback Engine GPU Acceleration (CUDA), which is not available on this system.  Mercury Playback Engine Software only will be used"

  I also get the following error message when you try to encode: "recorder captured No. Frames"

  I have so I uninstalled and reinstalled everything using this sequence:

  -Uninstall the wipes and utilities Matrox

  -Uninstall Adobe CS6

  -Run Abobe vacuum tool

  -NVidia drivers run Setup (ver. 337.88), making sure to check 'Perform Clean Install' (I installed only graphics and HD audio drivers. No 3D Vision, physx and GeForce experience)

  -Install Adobe CS6

  -Update Adobe CS6

  -Install the Matrox utilities

  -Restart the PC and the power of Matrox cycle

  -Install the Matrox models

  The Matrox I use is THE MX02 w/MAX (version 7.6.0.1993)

  Windows 7, Adobe CS6

  After re-installation, I still get the same error messages.

  Can someone please offer assistance so that I can get back to editing?  Thank you!

  The 680 was on the list of "Supported", the 770 apparently not. No worries. It works, they just never specifically tested and they do not want to engage in something that they haven't tested.

  Just delete the file named cuda_supported_cards.txt and the problem will disappear.

  Regarding your Matrox stuff, I have no idea. I'm sorry.

• Yet an another XH A1 w / CS3 Question...

  I looked through the forum and have not found anything that is exactly the same problem, I'll have to capture HDV 1080i (60i) of my XH A1 in PP CS3...

  I am running CS3 on a Dell XPS M1330 with an Intel Core 2 Duo, 4 GB Ram and Vista OS.  Like everyone else, I can't capture HDV footage - get capture to control the camera, even bring up the ofline screen I'm supposed to see while he cpatures, but in the end, it captures without frames.  However, I have peut capture HDV 1080i (60i) mode camera, but is not a HDV tape.

  Can someone please help?

  1. Unplug the XHa1 firewire cable
  2. The value XHA1 VCR/playback
  3. Press the Menu button
  4. Select "Signal Configuration.
  5. Replace the reading HDV standard.  The default value is automatic and it does not work well.

  Now connect firewire, ensure that the AGENCY is set to HDV mode (mode not DV).

• Where are still image captures recorded?

  When I do a Shift-E to achieve fixed an image capture and export, Premiere Pro cs6 simply records the current frame showing somewhere. Where is this file saved? Should not be a dialog box that is displayed to show where you can save the file? It's mysterious and I need help to understand.

  I recently installed logic X 10.2.1 and have a particular problem, I can't seem to find a preference or an Option for.

  I always use "Capture recording" to record my takes lunch. However, if I try to capture a record in a track on an existing Midi region, once I click "Record Capture", the new region is automatically attached to the older region.

  It wasn't like this in Logic 10.2. I 2 regions of overlap.

  This is Crucial, because sometimes I want to just capture Midi CC in a given region that it overlaps the former zone of which I can't do more.

  If one don't know preferences to record Midi or Capture of the save preferences that allows to solve this problem, it would be a great help

  File-> project settings - > rRecordings - set the drop-down list for the overlap

  Then when you press SHIFT - R to capture - the two regions will not be merged.

  Which varies from format to format. With MXF OP1a, there is a checkbox "Enable Smart Rendering codec." In all other cases I know, smart rendering is done automatically - if (and it's a pretty big "If") the content of the source properties, the sequence settings and export settings are all aligned.

• Capture files without project

  I think I know the answer to that, but I just wanted to see if there are alternatives.

  I've got about 30 Mini DV tapes - some quite old and begin to lose their quality due to age.  Obviously, save up to a HD will be a speaking task, but worth considering hours of memories!  I looked around, and there are a number of programs that will support these tapes, but not in the right format for use in PP CS4.

  OK, so my question is - can I capture the video using PP (or any other program) without creating a project?  My idea at this time to create a project and download all of the bands in this project and then move the created assets (for example AVI files) on an external HD (to save space) and then delete the project itself.  In this way, I find myself with a (HUGE) library of all my videos.

  Speaking, tedious and somewhat costly in terms of data storage - so if anyone has a better idea, please let me know!
