• Recovering user & Documents folder Windows icon Image?

  Hello everyone!

  Recently, I lost my the user documents folder and it recovered (by good help here).  However in my work to solve the problem the blue Documents folder icon under the folder Documents (user) Windows icon colored in an ordinary vanilla folder icon.  Then is the same thing to my real user (name) folder icon, he went to a single file of vanilla.  I don't remember how I did it.

  Problem: I would like to restore the icon of folder my documents to original blue color documents windows folder icon?  And restore my user to original windows icon folder icon?

  Help would be appreciated?

  1. you try to change folder icon?
  2. you are trying to change your user account picture?

  If so, I suggest you to follow the steps and check if it helps.

  Method 1: Follow the link and check if that helps.
  Choose a picture for your user account and start menu

  Method 2: Restore the default settings of the folder my documents and check if it helps.

  (a) right click on My Documents.

  (b) click on properties.

  (c) go to previous Versions.

  (d) click on Restore Defaults.

  (e) click OK.

  Method 3: Rebuild the icon cache and check if it helps.

  (a) open Folder Options to select (round) show hidden files and folders.

  (b) open a Windows Explorer window.

  c) go to C:\Users\(User Name) \AppData\Local

  (d) right-click on IconCache.db and click on delete.

  (e), click Yes to confirm the deletion.
  NOTE: This removes the file to the trash. It is safe to empty the trash when you are done.

  (f) close the window.

  (g) empty the trash.

  (h) restart the computer.

  (i) when you return, you will notice the size of the file IconCache.db is reduced, and the update is now the current date. (See screenshot below)
  NOTE: If for some reason any IconCache.db isn't there or the size has not changed much, then just restart the computer again. You may need to restart a few times in some cases.

  (j) cache icon has been rebuilt.

  Method 4: If you try to change the icon of a folder, follow these steps and check if that helps.
  (a) right click on the folder that you want to change the icon.
  (b) go to properties.
  (c) go to the Customize tab.
  (d) click on change icon.
  (e) select the icon you want and click OK.

  I accidentally deleted my documents folder, and now I can't find them.  I looked in the trash and nothing there.  I have even tried to restore but have had no luck either.  I had deleted the other stuff before that and they appear in the trash.  Can someone help me?

  Some tips for the future (from bitter experience) regarding important issues:

  1. the value of Time Machine cannot be overestimated.

  2. save your work often and every time with a corrected file name: filename_1.psd, filename_2.psd, etc. In this way, if a file is saved and for some reason any is corrupt, you have at least one previous version available.

  If the file is located in your Creative Cloud Files folder and sync files is running, then you can restore to a previous version of a file.

  Log on to the site active CC in a browser and go to https://assets.adobe.com/files. Select the file and select the activity tab. As part of any activity on the right, you should see the current Version of the file and latest listed versions. Select the version revised to... you need and click restore .

  When trying to save the documents stored on the disk U (network drive) receives an error "document not saved".

  Work performed: remote control in the user's machine. new version of a document stored in local storage. Saved on the drive of the U. created the new document on local storage and has been able to save on U disk. The user informed that to work around the problem he could move these files to local storage and put them on disk U if he wants to edit via U drive. Ran gpupdate. User cannot always keep these documents unless it saves the new version to the other location first. Called netadmin which says that all readers look good on their end.

  2 have. which edition of Windows 8.1 you installed?

  According to the user's Guideof this printer, the printer does not store documents already printed in its memory. The only way to recover an already printed document must be made on the computer.
