• Oversized incorrect report?

  Last Thursday, I reduced some VMs according to the oversized report that included the vcops VMs.  Now, I did not change my efficiency and now reports have weird numbers on them for vCPU configured as some of the machines with 2 vCPUs week last broadcast 1.9 vCPUs on the report now when they have only 1 vCPU and so on.  Any ideas what's happening?  Takes the VMs vcops up to 1 vCPU a problem?

  Oversized reports work on average values calculated over a period of time. This time interval is configured in the Configuration section for views no trend. Then, even when you make changes, it takes time so that it is reflected in the result. That said, a change of configuration of VCPU should get reflected immediately if you chose the 'last known capacity' for the determination of capacity under Configuration. Please check this setting. Make sure it's not average.

  Switch to the view of the oversized VM (content---> views) report

  The view that creates the oversized VM report is called "Machine virtual Rightsizing CPU, memory and disk.

  Change that view and go to 'Time settings', you will see that it is probably set to 1 minute. Change to the length you want for your report. In my environment, I use "45 days" as an example. After registration, rerun the report, and you should be good.

• Create new report if the file size is too large

  The sequences I run in TestStand have the ability to generate large reports and I am looking for a way to start a new sequence of intermediate report if the file size exceeds certain limits, either start a new report every night at midnight.

  I am currently using TestStand 2014 and reports ATML 5.00.

  Here, any help would be greatly appreciated.

  There is no specific substitutions that solve this problem 'in configuration and only few implementation".

  The point is that you should follow the following steps:

  1. check the size of the file after writing a new segment of report data.

  2. If size > configured the file size, create a new file. Write a footer in the previous file, duplicate the header for the new file information and store the handle to file for all the previous files.

  3. once the test is complete, update the header in all files (remember: the header contains the overall result of the ESA.) This is known only when the test is finished!) and finalize all the report files.

  In the plugins default report, none of the above functions is applied.

  You want may also focus on 'File offline results' as a reporting mechanism. It might be easier to change things using this approach, unless you go the recommended manner: database.

  The largest newspaper is A3 in BI Publisher according to the report editor, so I'm not able to create that necessary broad report.

  Could you suggest me no work around for this problem? (I have about a 50 columns)

  3. Here is the ability to define custom report size.

  the GC offers the ability to create public reports. One of the advantages is that the user doesn't have to connect to the GC at all.
  But in fact there is only one public area for all public reports. In our case: https://demzcvup01.akc.prod:4888 / em/public/reports.
  Since I created several reports for separate applications, it would be good to have a separate public space for each application. A user
  who wants to view reports of application A must not see application reports B. Seems, as if it is currently not possible

  You might think to find a solution in planning reports and automatically send them to one or more email recipients.

  Whether or not this feature will be supported in a future release is something we'll have to wait.

• MainStage 3.2.3 does not start

  Hey everybody! I just bought MainStage for the first time and I can't wait to try it. However, it does not start! Can anyone help?

  (1) when I run MainStage 3.2.3 it briefly appears in my dock, and then disappears.

  (2) I am then warned that it crashed with the ability to send a report to apple.

  (3) I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling, nothing helps.

  (4) I am OSX 10.11.3. iMac 21.5 inches. 3.06 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo. 12 GB of memory.

• Printing Adobe Reader and Outlook 2007 causes of programs close

  I feel several .pdf documents and all of a sudden I started having an error that Adobe Reader should close every time I tried to print.  I am also having the same problem with Outlook 2007.  If I try to print anything, you must restart Outlook.

  Finally, Word will not open.  These three points result in the same error message: XXX has encountered a problem and needs to close.  We are sorry for the inconvenience.  I have to restart, but have the ability to send error report or not.  With Word, I get a popup that Word failed to start correctly last time.  I then have the option to start in safe mode or not.

  Thank you for your answer, but I actually figured it out by myself very shortly after I posted the question.  After two days of Google search and frustration, all we needed was update/reinstall the printer.

  You continue to misinterpret the contractual agreement for the support that YOU are bound to. You should contact your mobile service provider who can escalate your case RIM, how the ability to submit the report could well exist.

  All this debate aside courses... 9 times out of 10 if people just try some things in my first response, it solves their problems... normally a clean OS Reload did the trick as a "worst case"... that or update the operating system to something more current.

• vCOps 5.8.4 not reflecting is not some changes to the VMS in vCenter

  Number of things I've noticed since this new facility.  I'm a bit new to the product so go easy on me.

  When I make a change recommended that a computer virtual based on an oversized VM report, for example, the change is not reflected.  The changes took place 24 hours ago, I expect to see that, in a new report, I would think.  Also, if I migrate virtual machines from 1 host to another host that the change is not reflected in the tree.  The only way I could get this show had to restart the GUI admin vCOps.  I have waited days after the vmotions and don't see anything.  Any ideas on that?

• With the help of 'Calculation of use' to set the tracking resources

  I have a group of virtual machines that serve only from 13:00 to 14:00.  Meanwhile, they are widely used and needs a lot of vCPUs and RAM.  Outside that window, they are completely inactive.

  I go into the user interface of vSphere-> Configuration and create a new policy.  Under "Use Calcuation"-> "Hours and days" I specify 1 to 2 PM as the hours when I want to track the use of resources.

  When I run the 'oversized VMS report' This ensures that these virtual machines will be have their RAM and the number of vCPUs must be calculated correctly on this report and not skewed by the fact that they are most of the time slowed down but really need a lot of RAM and vCPUs for their peak period?

  That's right, fix the hours of computing use will keep the plan oversized assessment of activity outside the date/time specified.

• Software required to get the value of unused virtual machines

  Almost 300 more virtual machines are running in my organization. Now, I need to identify the virtual machines that are not in use last period of one month so that I can approach the resources of concern against their virtual machines and get confirmation to remove these unused host machine virtual machines.

  You could try vCenter Operations Manager (vCOPs).  Who has the ability to produce various reports including the integrated 'Idle Virtual Machines' that looks at the VM CPU: % idle time, disk i/o i/o idle time and % idle time network.

  I guess it would be possible to do something with PowerCLi (Google can be your best friend with this well).

• Part of e-mail notifications of Standard edition?

  I just started to evaluate the operations of vCenter and am happy to see email notifications are now included. 60-day trail is for the Enterprise edition, but if we buy anything it is likely to be the standard edition. What I'm trying to confirm, it's the e-mail feature is part of the Standard edition.

  Looking at the comparison of product of VMware , it lists the "Proactive intelligent alerts" as in the standard, but I think that these are just alerts "badge" based in the console, not the e-mail notifications. The same matrix lists 'Alerts and reports' as being only in the Advanced edition, but I think it's done refers only to the ability to alert and report management.

  What makes me think that alert standard e-mail is present in all versions, but can anyone confirm?

  In fact, you have alert notifications in the standard as well.

  To enable them, you have:

  (1) connection in the administrative user interface and configure the SMTP server (to note that SSL/TLS encryption is not supported, although the options are there)

  2) date back to the vsphere-ui, and then open the "Notifications" menu and configure the actual alerts.

• Acrobat 9 Pro installation caused a failure of any download from any Web site.

  When I click on a pdf file, including all of the help files on the Adobe site, I get a view of the file for a fraction of a second and then it is replaced by a gray screen saying "Acrobat Plugin crashed" and offering the ability to send a report. I sent many reports, without success. For example, I watched a few times of train and got only the enticing glimpse of the pdf until it was replaced by the gray screen. The system was much earlier, when I had only Acrobat Reader.  How can I put this right?

  Really don't know what could be the problem. However, it could be fixed if you update Acrobat. If you have installed Acrobat recently, it may be the version 9.0, rather than the current 9.5.1. You can make updates in the Help menu in Acrobat.
