Recovery disks to restore the recovery Partition, laptop Aspire 7740-5691
If I use the recovery discs (3) and the disk driver and application to re - install Windows 7 on my Acer Aspire 7740-5691 will restore the recovery partition. The recovery partition is 11,72 GB and 100% free space and in good health, according to the information in disk management. I don't know how the recovery partition wiped but the computer is running right now. The discs were made when I bought this computer about 5 years ago. The HDD is 320 GB, the processor is intel quad core i3, ram is 4 GB. Thanks in advance for your comments and information. Oscar1
Acer erecovery media will restore your laptop to factory default, so, Yes, it will restore the original recovery partition too.

Hi all
Need your help. I have problems with my external hard drive. I worked on it yesterday when the cable is a little detached and disassembled my intestinal HARD drive.
Here are the specs:
1 Macbook Air 11.5 "running on El Capitan (10.11.1)
2 Buffalo Ministation external (1 TB) HARD disk divided into two: a Mac partition (for time machine) and the other a windows on FAT32 partition.
Before the accident yesterday, it was working OK.
Now, when I connect the HARD drive, it turns on but the Mac partition cannot be mounted (it does not appear on the Finder. I opened disk utility... just load forever and does not work) and the Windows partition is visible... but I can't take it apart without turning my computer.
I can assemble and disassemble a USB stick very well.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thank you!
Maybe you can explain a little better.
I would like to make some general comments before having your replay.
It is not wise to use TM on a disk with apple unformatted or partitions, it is preferable to have a dedicated TM drive also.
For TM, the rule is that the drive is about 3 times the size of the boot disk.
Normally you 'survive' a good step disassemble the drive external, but in this case with a another partition formatted on this subject, I'm not sure if that do not corrupt the disk, especially since the Windows partition is bootable. I have suspct the partition GUID on the TM partition table is corrupt.
I propose to start the disk completely: in DiskUtility select the 'higher' level (name of manufacturer) and the Partition, one OS X Extended (journaled) partition table Partition GUID. And use it only for TM, is not too big for this.
Have another drive formatted NTFS for Windows.

Restore the OS partition without erasing the current user profiles
I have a two year old iMac that cannot be started after we had a power failure. Unfortunately, my son tried to start it again until I got the chance to run disk utility. He got started, but there were mistakes then he shut it down, however I could not restart even in safe mode. In Recovery mode repair disk is a failure and recommend restoring the backup.
The problem is that the last backup is one month because my Time Capsule was full, so I bought a newer backup drive and turned off automatic backups to attempt to transfer the largest disk backups. I had trouble to permission to do and haven't done before the failure.
So, I managed to use target disk Mode to get a copy of my families users folders. Potentially, I could restore the old backup, and then restore missing files manually, but I want to know if I have a choice.
Is it possible to reinstall the OS X partition without destroying the partition of work that has applications and user profiles?
I am running 10.10 and 10.11 (I don't remember if I've updated before this problem) so maybe it's on instead of El Capitan Yosemite
Yes. Reinstalling the operating system or erase the partition containing normally will not affect the other partitions, but data on them should still be backed up.

HPE 270e initialize system repair disk to restore the System Image
I am really enjoying my new HP HPE 270e Win 7 HP x 64 computer desktop, but for some reason, ESC, F-1, F-8, F - 10 and F - 11 key do not work properly and when restoring the system came out the other day I was forced to restart from Factory Image DVD who put me several weeks back and I was forced to start again set up my computer.
Before all this happened, I saved an Image of the system 2 different external drives of 1 TB and a Win 7 system repair disc to use to retrieve the System Image, but my office of 270e HPE will not recognize the disc. Nor will it recognize the Macrium reflect Win 7 PE 2.1 "Rescue CD", which will get 2 more pictures system I saved. Even when Windows does not shut down properly, it is impossible to select options indicated to "Start Windows normally".
According to the blue HP color screen, by pressing the ESC key will allow to the entry of 5.28 BIOS TRUCKEE 1.04E01 of the motherboard to enable the computer to boot from CD/DVD, but I'm currently not able to select ESC or any other option besides. I studied the 5.28 BIOS and it will allow booting from CD/DVD and I hope someone here can instruct me as to how this feature can be activated.
I have a laptop HP with Vista and every time it starts, it offers access to the ESC and F key options, but just HPE 270e Office ignores this screen and sails right through startup in an average of 20 seconds. Even if I see a quick start that I would gladly seconds on the screen startup options if only I could find a way to enable.
I appreciate any help with the activation of these startup options in my office of 270e HPE. I spent 5 hours talking to HP Technical Support and all the help they could offer said me "these options will be presented if you need. Well, the possibility of restoring a system from the system repair disc Image is intended for Win 7 did not appear, and I hope that I will be able to acquire knowledge of the implementation of this basic option in Windows 7 Home Premium.
~ Maxx ~.
Although I still don't know why my HPE-270e will not recognize recovery media yesterday I finally could add the Macrium Reflect PE v2.1.2866 my computer Windows 7 start menu and I am now able to boot into Win 7 or consider recovery environments without using the repair disc Windows or the media reflect rescue...

Restore disks HP restored the OS badly on my dv8320
Hi all, I bought a computer laptop dv8320 a few years. Recently, I decided to upgrade the two 80 GB drives to a pair of 500 GB Western Digital drives and instead of cloning the OS I have rebuilt from scratch using 4 dvd - rom restore disks. To my surprise last night I realized that even though I was using XP Media Center Edition 2005 factory disks gave back me to Media Center Edition 2002. The COA on the bottom of the laptop is a certificate of authenticity for the 2005 edition, and I jumped into the old drive 80 just to make sure I wasn't wrong, and indeed, the original factory OS is Media Center Edition 2005. Now, I have not as yet noticed any loss of functionality or something but I do it for some feel cheated little reason...
All this experience? HP offers a restore disk for the operating system, that I actually allowed or am, that I just stuck with the 2002 version?
Hmm no, there are a few functional differences between the original 2002 MCE-MCE 2005. As I have said that I have not noticed differences, however, I don't know that some differences I notice whenever I go to burn a DVD of Moviemaker. Hey I know that is not the greatest, but it works for me. Well he used to work for me, in any case there are tons of other usability issues that I'll be stuck with for example media center extender for xbox 360, supported for both my tuner, a HP expresscard tuner and a tuner Hauppauge USB2TV...
In any case, I'm just curious.
Well well apparently http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=e5daf37e-e243-4410-bc51-81cf2b56fe6e&displaylang=en adds the functionality of MCE 2005 to all the devil of this version of the operating system is.

Free disk space on the C partition
Separated from this thread.
I am also having the same problem. I am running Vista Home Premium SP2. I was getting close to complete on my drive C (13% free space). I was shocked to see how quickly it filled up, almost as if he did it by himself. I was downloading a lot so I had no idea how it happened. I ran each program cleaning and each antivirus that I had to try to make room. I cleaned up program files deleted a bunch of audio and video files, and it does not seem to do much more of a difference. I shut down the computer for the night and is returned to him the next morning. I ran and bought a few flash drives to transfer files more and when I booted up I checked the hard drive and it was back to 48% free space (as it was before). I have no idea what happened, but so far, it seems to be fixed...? one of the cleansers I ran also ccleaner.

There are two ways to compress files in windows. Zip files and built-in file compression. It's built-in file compression. For more information on compression type zip in Start - Help and Support .
Photos, music and video are already compressed. They can get larger if Windows tries to compress it any further. Also usually a bad idea to compress system files.
If you have files of worksheet they can very well be compressed. If you have files, installation files, they can also be good candidates. Web pages are also good candidates.
In Windows Explorer, blue file names means Tablet (it is the file system compression not aka zip files compressed files). Green filename means Encrypted.
To disable file names colored, in Explorer - Tools menu (Alt + T)- display tab and then clear the check box for Show encrypted or compressed NTFS in color .
Windows compression, encryption and security to work for the most part by applying attributes to a folder and the files in the folder inherit the folder.
If you have all the files appropriate for compression, find them in solution, made Explorer right click - Properties - general -Advanced button tab - Compress contents to save disk space. Choose to apply to all files and folders when asked.

What is the right way to expand the virtual disk and then the OS partition?
I have a Windows XP operating system in a virtual machine VMware. I have
you want to increase the size of the hard drive. It currently has a 50 GB
partition on a 50 GB VHD. I increase the size of the
50 GB to 100 GB in VMware virtual hard drive. Then, can I use
Windows disk management to increase the size of my partition of the
side OS to use all the 100GB he sees now? Or will
corrupt my data or cause a problem as I really need to
use a third party tool like EAUSUS inside Windows to extend Windows
on the size of the virtual hard disk?
In fact the way you describe, resize the virtual disk and then developing the partition are the way to go. But there are some things that you should be
aware of.
-If the VHD is on an IDE controller, you may not be able to resize the virtual disk. In this case use the converter. With the converter, you can resize the disk including the partition and - if desired - replace the IDE controller by a SCSI controller.
-If you have only one partition under XP (that is, drive c :)) you cannot extend the partition with the diskmanager/diskpart. In this case, start your virtual machine from a CD/DVD Vista/Windows 7 in Repair Mode, open a command line and use "diskpart" from there to "extend" your partition.

I created by the user recovery disks. I created them the day I got the computer and he made three of them. My brother has deleted my recovery partition just now. My question is, if I resumed my Inspiron 15 3521 using three recovery disks that I created, be it recreate the recovery partition in the process? I just need an answer to this question, not responses indicating that, if I have the disks, I don't need the recovery partition, why would I want the recovery partition if I have the drive, etc. I would like to just a simple answer to the question. If I use the recovery discs, it will recreate the partition recovery with all the info, she was in it when I got to the computer? Once the recovery is completed from disks, will be that recovery partition be there as the day I got the computer, so if I wanted to (I don't want to, but I'm just a question) I could still create the recovery of her discs? Basically, the computer will be exactly as it was the day I got it home, recover partition and everything? Or, it will restore the computer to the new plant, but not to re-create the recovery partition with everything she had in it the day I got it?
Thanks in advance.
Yes, it will be if you select the correct option.

It might be good for you to ask a Windows OS DVD 8.0/8.1 just in case the recovery media works however.

Restore the partition from the Satellite Pro A200 recovery
Hello
I accidentally deleted the 5 GB recovery partition on my Satellite Pro A200. I have since recovered (and the data inside) and tried to create my discs of recovery using the "Recovery Disc Creator', but it is to say that it cannot find the recovery partition :(
I tried fishing by the ini files for recovery disc creator find where he seeks the score, but could not find anything...
One thing I noticed is that now it is recovered, it appears as a NTFS fs (I think that before it was an unknown FS type?) and volume label "HDDRECOVERY".
Any ideas on how I can either:
(a) wrong recovery tool by using the recovery partition
(b) to make the score look exactly as it did before I deleted it, so I can use the tool as it is.Would really appreciate any help - want to make these recovery disc for my vista ultimate before I go around whacking backtrack top :) and dicking
your
Frank
Hello
> accidentally deleted the recovery partition of 5 GB on my Satellite Pro A200. Since I got (and the data inside)
I wonder how you restored the deleted partition. Perhaps the recovery settings partition are not the same that before and, therefore, the "Recovery Disc Creator' doesn t work properly.Unfortunately, I think you will not be able to fool the recovery tool, if the recovery partition cannot be found.
You can rename only the partition NTFS FS. This can be done in the disk management console.
But I don t think this will solve this problem. It seems that you have to reinstall the whole OS using the CD of restoration of Toshiba or the original CD of Microsoft Vista
Good bye

Recovery disk is deletes the data at the 2nd disk on Satellite A300?
Hello
I use a laptop Toshiba A300, which has 2 hard drives (250GB). The laptop has Windows Vista Home Edition 32-bit installed, but I want to change for Windows Vista 64-bit, which comes with the recovery disk, in order to use all 4 GB of RAM.I have all the backup data and move them to the 2nd HARD drive (D, C named first name).
So I wonder if Recovery Wizard will delete the data of the two hard disks or just a 1st.
Thanks in advance
KevinHello
Your laptop was equipped with HARD drive recovery option allows you to create the own Toshiba Recovery disk which would be contains the preinstalled operating system.
In your case the Vista 32 bit.And Yes, install from the recovery disk format the whole HARD drive and removes all the disk, also of the second partition.
That's why to create the recovery disk before you install or change anything on the HARD drive

In the light of the announcement that the xp version support will be withdrawn w.e.f. April 8, 2014, I want to restore the B205 Toshiba laptop with the latest version to recover the notebook. Please suggest measures to be initiated at the end.
Hello
Here is the Vista Forums, not XP.
There is no available from Microsoft Windows XP download.
You can contact your computer manufacturer and ask them to send you a set of recovery discs, if it is still available.
They should do this for a small fee.

And if you have never received a recovery disk when you bought your computer, there should be a recovery Partition on the hard drive to reinstall XP back on how you purchased your computer.
The recovery process can be started by pressing a particular combination of the key or keys at startup. (Power on / start)
Maybe it's F10, F11, Alt + F10, etc., depending on the manufacturer.
Ask them to the proper key sequence.
Toshiba is press 0 (zero) to start to start the process of relocation/restore to the way you bought in later operating systems.
You will still need to install all of the SPs, updates, etc.
See you soon.

I have windows vista basic on my laptop & also my laptop can reinstall vista (I think that it is on a separate partition) so for my question I want to install windows 7, if I have it will remove this partition that can re - install vista?
original title: installation using Windows 7Hello
It depends on your computer maunfacturer as to whether you will be able to always use the vista recovery partition after installing windows 7
Hewlett Packard machine; No, you can not
Read about this HP:
Solve a common problem of recovery. If the original operating system is changed to a non - Vista OS, the Recovery Manager cannot be launched either office or by pressing f11 at startup. You can use the recovery disk to restore the computer to the original state of Vista. If you are using a non - Vista OS, you can use a third-party partition management program to recover hard disk space.________________________________________________________________
Here are the different ways to reinstall Vista
Contact the manufacturer of the laptop computer and ask them to send you to vista recovery disks to reinstall the operating system back as it was when you bought it
they do it for a nominal cost of $
____________________________________________________________
also ask them if you have a recovery partition on your hard drive to get back to the way you bought
you would normally press F8, F9, F10 or F11 or Alt + F10 or 0 to start to start the recovery process according to the manufacturer
Ask them of the exact key sequence

or borrow a vista microsoft dvd; not a HP, Acer recovery disk etc
Make sure that you borrow the correct 32-bit or 64-bit microsoft dvd to your computer
they contain all versions of vista
This is the product key that determines which version of vista is installed
