Recovery of satellite L855-abandoned 150 now I can't start it

Hello
I tried to do a recovery from a usb key. I did the recoverymedia with the "recovery media creaotor ' by toshiba and it has successfully completed.

After I started the recovery he interrupted the maybee 80% (I can't say because I wasn't in the room, I think I had to choose 2 or 3 times the button yes I have inserted the following disk, even if I used a USB key).

Now I can't even start the laptop that I can just choose between 3 options (loading data from the bios & recovery) and the laptop is not recognizing the usbstick more (data recovery is always on the stick)

Enter the BIOS settings, set it to default settings and restart your laptop with USB into the USB port. Press F12 at startup and check if USB is listed as a boot device. If yes try to start the installation of image recovery again.

NEVER begin to solve this problem with KB307545, and if you have no disk, you won't get a lot anyway.

I guarantee engineers from Microsoft technical support that I can recreate this problem to approximately, half break you in 1 minute your XP CD and then you put challenge to fix it without the help of KB307545.  It is unlikely that the manufacturer will send you an XP installation disc.

Looking at HP/Compaq, Dell and IBM just today, they say generally that they have stopped shipping XP CD in 2005 (6 years ago) and you can't order them on their website or through the support.  But sometimes you can get a part number and buy a CD to install XP from third-party suppliers to find research on the Internet.  Prices range from $49 to $ 200 USD.

Knowing this, maybe it's time to STOP suggesting how to contact the vendor for installation of XP Media?  It's a good 'out' when you don't know what to do, but this isn't a useful suggestion.

It could facilitate a resolution of the problem faster with less cycles message if you are trying to tell us you see the exact error message.

    Is this something like this:

Windows XP could not start because the following file is missing or corrupt: \WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\CONFIG\SYSTEM

If you want to use Ubuntu or something similar to copy your important files to a safe place, it is a good idea, but you should always be able to repair your XP system.

What you need to do is to make a bootable CD of XP (no XP media required) Recovery Console to run chkdsk /r on your system.  Here's how:

The question was preceded by a loss of power, aborted reboot or abnormal termination? (This includes the plug pulling, buttons power and removing the battery).

These can cause corruption in the file system that must be fixed before you do anything else.

If none of these events occurred (or even if they have not taken place), you must verify the integrity of your file system before anything else (especially "try" things).

There is zero logic to begin to try to begin to try to modify or copy files to a hard drive that has a corrupted file system, so this must first be fixed using the XP chkdsk program and run chkdsk on your hard drives may solve your problem completely.

Use the XP Recovery Console to check the file system on your HARD drive and fix the problems and then try to start your system - this may be all you need to do.  Or, you are welcome to just start trying things that might work.

Boot into the Recovery Console Windows using an XP bootable installation CD.

If you have no XP bootable media (or aren't sure you have) create a bootable XP Recovery CD of Console and do not forget.

This is not the same as recovery disks that might have come with the acquisition of the system store.

You can make a bootable Recovery Console CD by downloading an ISO file and burn it to a CD.

The ISO bootable image file you need to download is called:

    xp_rec_con. ISO

    Download the ISO from here:

    http://www.mediafire.com/?ueyyzfymmig

Use a new CD and this simple and free program to burn your ISO file and create your bootable CD:

    http://www.ImgBurn.com/

When you install ImgBurn, DO NOT install the Ask toolbar.

Here are some instructions for ImgBurn:

    http://Forum.ImgBurn.com/index.php?showtopic=61

It would be a good idea to test your bootable CD on a computer running.

You may need to adjust the computer BIOS settings to use the CD-ROM drive as the first device to boot instead of the hard drive.  These adjustments are made before Windows tries to load.  If you miss it, you will need to restart the system again.

When you start on the CD, follow the instructions:

Press any key to boot from CD...

    Installing Windows... going to pronounce.

Press 'R' to enter the Recovery Console.

Select the installation that you want to access (usually 1: C:\WINDOWS)

You may be asked to enter the password (usually empty).

You should be in the folder C:\WINDOWS.  It's the same as the

C:\Windows folder that you see in Solution Explorer.

The Recovery Console allows base as file commands: copy, rename, replace, delete, chkdsk, fixboot, fixmbr, cd, etc.

For a list of the commands in the Recovery Console, type help at the prompt of commands or read on here XP Recovery Console:

    http://www.Microsoft.com/resources/documentation/Windows/XP/all/proddocs/en-us/recovery_console_cmds.mspx?mfr=true

A good idea before you start things must first verify the integrity of your file system by using the chkdsk command.

In the command prompt window, run the chkdsk command on the drive where Windows is installed to try to fix any problems on the afflicted player.

Running chkdsk is fine, even if he finds no problem.  It won't hurt anything to run it.

Assuming your boot drive is C, run the following command:

    CHKDSK C: /r

Let chkdsk finish to correct the problems, he could find.

It may take a long time for chkdsk complete or they seem to be "stuck".  Be patient.  If the HARD drive led blinks always, chkdsk is something.  Keep an eye on the amount of the percentage to be sure that it is still making progress.  It may even seem to go back sometime.

You must run chkdsk/r again until it finds no error to correct.

Remove the CD, and then type "exit" to exit the RC and restart the computer.

You have not to set the BIOS to boot the disk HARD since the CD won't be.

Most OEM computers have a partition on the hard drive, that allows to give it bought as provided.  Usually, you activate this feature by pressing a key or combination of keys when the first splash screen appears at startup.  Look quickly at the first screen that appears, and you could see the key that you press.  Otherwise, go to your computer manufacturer's website and download the manual for your computer.  Instructions must be there.

    Hello

Unfortunately, I need to recover with the recovery media (3 DVD that I created with the "Toshiba Recovery Media Creator" tool before starting the recovery process) by default.

I therefore start the wizard of recovery Toshiba from the recovery DVD and choose 'Factory default software recovery', which begins by copying the files from the disks.

But it will come to a point where he asks another disc (DVD 4), which cause i haven't. And when I checked the 3 disks REcory I noticed that one was completely written and it was still empty.
    (DVD1: 4.4 GB, DVD2: 709,1 Mo, DVD3: void)

I can't repeat 'Toshiba Recovery Media Creator' because the hard drive is already completely cleared.

That's why I aks for recovery media.

I bought a new Satellite L300 and installed installation went empty for the first time - during the process.
No more chance to install again, no CD available, software (Vista Edition home premium) must be started from the hard drive that does not work in this situation.

    Any idea?

    Hello Nile

When I read something like that I can just laugh. Sorry, but I can't believe that do you something like that. It makes sense that any new device must be connected to the power running especially for the first start.

In any case, your only chance is to try to follow:
Connect your laptop to power current
AutoScan the laptop and press F8 several times to load the advanced startup options
Choose the option to fix my computer
In the next window choose recovery Toshiba (the last option)
    And follow the on-screen menu.

If you are lucky, you will be able to reinstall the OS but I'm not sure about this.

Last option is to order original Toshiba recovery DVD under https://backupmedia.toshiba.eu/landing.aspx

  • I interrupted utility disk neck 3 clear and now I can't start

    Hello

with my iMac 21.5 "2016 days 30 years playing up (beachballing each click of the mouse), I decided to start over with a new facility. However, when I deleted my hard drive I accidentally selected the erase 3-pass. I stopped very quickly the erase operation, but now I cannot start my computer and cannot use the recovery of the internet option when you press the R option to install new software to boot.

so has my cancellation erase the neck 3, all the data on my disk unrecoverable and the unusable disk?

spoke to apple and they say it needs a repair? It is 31 days old. I have probably need a new hard drive because of this?

    Thank you.

Yes. The clear operation is all data unrecoverable.

The first step must always be a backup before you start any of this important project.

If Apple says it should be repaired then take to them and ask them to fix it please.

  • Hi I reinstalled my Win XP Home because the current drive was getting old. But I installed it on a new hard drive connected as "Slave" but now he can't start

I have connected the new hardrive as a 'slave', re-installed my Win XP even & re-patched everything on it including SP3, programs & ups back-ups, but oh no! the new hard drive when it is plugged in as a 'master', it does not start!

But with the old hard drive connected as long as 'master', I have the option of "dual boot".

I guess because my new drive is not a reader of "system"? I can see that my old drive is listed as 'system '. How to make my other even without having to re - install all over again? Thank you!

    Hi Fishlipps,

Thanks for posting. Most likely you see it as your boot.ini is located on a drive corresponding to your system on a different drive. The easy way to do this would be to reinstall or do a repair on the computer installation. Please make a backup before attempting this.

    1.

When the message Press any key to boot from the CD appears on your screen, press a key to start your computer from the Windows XP CD.

    2.

When you see the message to install Windows XP nowand then press ENTER is displayed on the Welcome to the Setup screen, press ENTER.

    3.

Do not choose the option to press R to use the Recovery Console.

    4.

In the Windows XP licensing agreement, press F8 to accept the license agreement.

    5.

Make sure that your current installation of Windows XP is selected in the box, and then press R to repair Windows XP.

    6.

Follow the instructions on the screen to complete the installation.

Another option would be to modify the boot.ini located directly on the root of your drive. Below is a knockout with instructions on how to do it. However please backup all your data by doing one of them because both can make your computer unbootable.

  • My built-in webcam icon disappeared from my taskbar and now I can't start Help!

Ive recently bought a Dell Inspiron 1720 with a built-in webcam. When I started the laptop was down by the icon in the lower right corner, and I could run it from there. But now, the icon disappeared, and when I go to Dell Webcam Central to see if that would help, nothing happens... so where should I go from there?

Dell should have drivers and the control software available on their site. Please refresh your

Now, go to the system manufacturer's website and download the latest driver for the camera and the other related camera

  • Installation of Vista on the new hard drive was interrupted, and now I can not start the computer

So I decided that I need a bigger hard drive. I got a 500 GB hard drive, so I have it PLOPPED in my Acer Aspire 5517 with my vista boot drive, turned on and began to go through the process. Once he got to the phase 'installation complete' it seems to take a while, so I let it run all night. Once I got up, it was on a black screen with the mouse, I let stand a few more minutes but still nothing. I turned off and started it expects to find to return at the beginning of the installation, but instead he began to start from what is on the hard drive at this time. It got to the screen with the loading bar and the sign 'Microsoft Corporation'. The loading bar was very frigidity and stopped and started randomly. I let it do this while I went to school, but when I got home, it was always the same loading screen. I rebooted and tried to start in safe mode, but when I do it it stops at crcdisk.sys, and never forwarded charges. I tried to do the reset thing factory start it but that doesn't seem to work. My other puny hard drive still works, but the other does not. I searched the internet but have not seen any other problem like it. I want to just start completely clean of my new 500 GB. Please help!

    Hi James,

    1. What is the number of brand and model of the hard disk of 500 GB?

    2. How did the 500 GB hard drive connected to the computer? It is external or internal?

To troubleshoot the unable to start the issue to cause corrupted driver, some files that can not be loaded during the startup process must be fixed or restored. So, let's check the disk by using the Windows Recovery Console.

    (a) put the Windows Vista installation disc in the disc drive, and then start the computer.

    (b) press a key when the message "Press any key to boot from CD or DVD ".

    (c) select a language, a time, a currency and a keyboard or another input method, and then click Next.

    (d) click on repair your computer.

    (e) (click on the operating system you want to repair), and then click Next.

    (f) in the System Recovery Options dialog box, click command prompt. Type chkdsk c:/f to try to correct the errors.

    (g) Note: answer them when chkdsk asks you if you want to check the disk next boot Vista

    (h) after the recording of the disc, and then run sfc/scannow to check the corruption of system files.

Important: when running chkdsk on the drive hard if bad sectors are found on the disk hard when chkdsk attempts to repair this area if all available on which data may be lost.

Check out TechNet help links and check if that helps:

The computer starts stops at crcdisk.sys

Let us know the status of the issue. If you need help, please after return. We will be happy to help you.

  • Windows updates installed and now I can not start vista normally

Hello, I have a problem starting my OS after windows updates to install. I have a laptop Dell Studio 1737 running Windows Vista SP1 x 64

I installed the windows updates and they are normally installed on the closed part (steps 1 and 2 of 3) but the computer restarted once he ran Microsoft Corporation with the Green loading bar animation. He hung there for quite a long time as usual but I thought it had to do with updates. so after that the animation, the screen off, turned back on and it was completely black. a mouse jumped out for about 10 seconds, then disappeared. I noticed that the hard drive light stopped flashing and there is no other activity after that. CTRL-Alt-Del does nothing. So I had to hold the power button and restart. This time I used Safe Mode to let it boot. He traveled the drivers being loaded and hung up "pilot charge: \SystemRoot\system32\drivers\crcdisk.sys ', but eventually started. After starting, it linked the part "Configuring updates step 3 of 3" 0% to 100% and then just stood there and the mouse began to blink. Yet once, there was very little hard drive being indicated by light activity. After 5 minutes, it was clear, he was not any progress made by letting it continue. Yet once, forced another shut down.

I repeated the process with the same results from the point to let start normally to force stop and meet at configuring updates step 3 of 3 to 100% but frozen in safe mode. I was perplexed what to do because I could not access the computer at all even in SafeMode! I forced the closing down and grown up recovery tools and tried to startup repair. has nothing. I tried the system restore. It is interesting that told me I had NO restore points and yet I had just installed one small not updated but there is 30 minutes. Also, I can't imagine there is no restore point after having owned this laptop for almost 4 years. I took to my faithful Tablet for some Google-ing in depth on this particular issue in the hope of finding a solution. Well, I came across an article that leaves me at least cancel the thing trying to get up-to-date and freezing. It required that use you recovery command prompt and delete the C:\Windows\winsxs\pending,xml file. After the reboot (in safe mode) Finally I could connect and access my files save them! Finally! only it isn't the end of the problem. I still cannot start normally. to do this, the above-mentioned actions of when I try to boot normally.
I tried so much google - lies about different things, it might be and who either do not resolve problem or steps they indicate to tell me to change a registry entry to something which in my machine is already what they say before it takes. Also, I can't uninstall updates because the windows update program does not open in safe mode. I have run chkdsk and nothing. I stopped everything to boot at startup, with the exception of microsoft. I uninstalled any program that can run at startup. I ran an anti-virus (Avast & Norton separately) and lift you own. I have a ntbtlog.txt I can post if necessary. honestly, I don't know where to turn at this point, except for here. If no luck here ill get my backup files, take my computer to a local store and have them diagnose or if worse comes to the worst case, a clean format and reinstall that is not presented.
Thank you for any advise on this issue, as I don't know what to do next.

What I did I tried to disable the network, modem and audio drivers. It took time, but start normally thereafter, but he made a strange (and continuous) boot process he never has ever done before. Once in normal mode, I started to allow the drivers one by one and it turned out to be one for the audio driver to date. During this audio driver was activated it will disable all entries as the trackpad, keyboard, USB and particularly hard drive! so it would freeze almost instantly after activation there and closes one forced would be necessary. Device Manager Microsoft told me this audio driver was updated, but it wasn't. The company that provided the audio drivers had changed the names through the merger or buyout, or something and the new audio drivers were under the new name. A very strange situation.

I had to search around and eventually find the latest drivers for my system setup and audio on dell's website, and it said it was a "Recommended" update This update of the driver should be mandatory if you want to continue using your computer! It is one of the most used audio dell service providers! Why he would only recommend?
In any case, thank you Jeremy for your time and help!

Always pointing the Flash disk VMX configuration file. Whenever you remove the Flash disk, the drive-VMX configuraiton must be updated correctly. In your case it does not somehow. Anyway, lets get a work around.

1 take the backup of the VMX configuration file

    2. edit the VMX file

    3 scsi0:0.fileName = "QFES_1.2.25 - RHEL52_x86.vmdk" (Please check the VMDK file name correctly it)

    4. save the file
