Recovery of T420S - USB does not work

Simply create a USB via ThinkVantage recovery disk. It takes about 10 GB (I used a 16 GB USB drive). However, when I try to use it to start the laptop, it says "Error loading operating system". Unfortuanlly, I can create this disk once via the ThinkVantage software. Now if my HARD drive is gone, I don't have a way to make it work again. Anyone have the same problem? Help, please. Thank you.  -Viki

    Hello

the link is still present? If so, right-click on the shortcut and tell what program or the name of the program is linked. Maybe we can find something to take home your recovery disk creator.

You know, that sounds really weird that a program always disappears after reinstalling the burning program sonic. Maybe it s just a special option or something that needs to be enabled.

  • Satellite Pro 4270 - USB does not work

    Hello.

I had this problem for a while, and I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions to solve this problem.

I have more or less of work Satellite Pro 4270 (4200 Series) computer laptop with XP on it.

The USB port does not work. I don't know why it does not work. I tried to replace the USB module on the motherboard that has not worked. I've updated the BIOS to the latest version, has not functioned. Removed and reinstalled the drivers in XP, not worked. I'm out of ideas.

    IrDA works very well.

    Some suggestions please. Thank you

    Hello!

I understand, were you solder the module USB motherboard and then solder another module?

I mean, what have you done with the module USB, replacing? Sorry, I don't remember exactly how the USB module is connected to my mobo SP4270 seen last about the half a year ago... If the welding, I don't wonder the problem... but if not, there may be a solution...

  • HP 260 G2: USB does not work with W7 x 64 installation ENT

I have a new G2 of 260 HP, when I proceed to the installation of W7 x 64 USB business, after th e first loading, USB devices does not work. I tried with the utility of th 'Installer_Creator' from Intel, but with the same result.

You can someone help me with this issue?

    Thanks in advance

    Mauro Caputo

    Hello:

    You must run this utility...

    https://Downloadcenter.Intel.com/download/25476/Windows-7-USB-3-0-creator-utility

Your only other option would be to use a PS/2 keyboard and mouse to complete the installation and then install the drivers for Chipset and USB3 you need.

or see this post for an alternative solution.

  • Re: Satellite C660 - One USB does not work

    Hello

As the title says, I have a c660 that has only a working USB port. The other is dead and has been dead since day 1.

I tried to uninstall the USB controllers, re-boot and allowing the automatic hardwarediscovery run and install again. This has not solved the problem unfortunately.

I am running windows 7 by the way.

Another had a similar problem or has any ideas?

    Thank you

    TFM

If only a single USB port does not work and if the other is OK then I think it is a dysfunction of the USB port and not related to any software.

So in this case, I think you should visit the ASP from Toshiba for a verification of the motherboard.
The USB ports are part of the motherboard and possibly you need new mobo.

  • Satellite L650-12 q - recovery of Windows 7 does not work

    Hello

I have Windows 7 Home Premium (64-bit) edition in my laptop Toshiba Satellite (L650-12 q) and after a new start the Windows stopped working. I have a recovery disk that does not load (I'm done with the pointer in a blank screen) and the drive to install windows 7 would not work either (same thing). Safe mode no longer works.

This probably means that the partition has a problem I'm wrong? -J' used Ubuntu Live CD, which confirmed that c:\ cannot be mounted while d:\ can.

The problem however is double: a) I'm not sure that aspect of my data is accessible or not (I can't check) and b) I can't reinstall Windows, as Windows 7 installation process does not work.

Any ideas please on what to do next? I want to access the partition, have searched on the internet (even tried with a Windows 98/XP boot disk), but had no chance that the partition is written in a newer way, which is not detected by them...

    Thank you in advance.

    > I have a recovery disk that was not loaded (I'm done with the pointer in a blank screen)...
Do you use it for the first time?

In any case, try to start the recovery disk, follow these steps:
-Launch the laptop model and when you see the Toshiba screen home press F12 repeatedly to enter the boot options
-When the boot menu appears to place the recovery disc into the optical disc drive
-in the menu choose the CD/DVD drive and press ENTER
ODD must start recovery disc playback.

What happens when you do this?

  • Satellite P200 - Product Recovery Disk 2/2 does not work

    Hello

because my laptop (Satellite P200 - I bought in December 2007) does not work more properly - and when, after a lot of cleaning it still wasn't working properly - I decided to start from the beginning and restore the operating system with 2 product recovery cd / dvd.

Recovery disk 1/2 worked well - Windows Vista Home Premium product is loaded again on my computer.

But what abot * Disck2/2 product recovery? *
At one point, the recovery program calls for a 'supplement' but when I put in the product recovery disc 2/2 at this time, that the program does not recognize the disc. During the rest of the recovery program the program didn't ask for Product Recovery Disk 2/2, so the content of this CD-ROM/dvd now is not loaded on my laptop.

    Someone had this problem too?
What do you have on this?
Is this a problem for not loading the content of the product recovery disc 2/2 (I can go without it?)?

Thanks in advance for any response!

    Hello

    > Products 1/2 worked well - Windows Vista Home Premium recovery disc is loaded again on my computer.

I put t know which modules the tool called for, but AFAIK the Toshiba image contains the operating system Vista, Toshiba drivers and additional software.
So if you've recovered the laptop using the recovery disk Toshiba 1 then the laptop must be set to the SAME State as at the first day of the purchase.

PS: what files you can find on the second disk?

I formatted my hard drive and installed windows 7.

None of the usb drives to work. It is common in the sub player but nothing appears in Windows Explorer, when I plug in a flash drive. When I plug in a mouse, it does not work.

It is a platform of Skylake has no USB 2.0 driver for Windows 7 does not work. You must install the USB 3.0 driver and probably a lot of other drivers, as well.

Make sure that the drop-down menu to select the operating system is set to Windows 7. I assume that you have installed the 64 bit version.

For some strange reason, this often happens with Internet Explorer. You could try to install the Chrome browser, and try again.

  • USB does not work with flash or usb HD drives

Lenovo T60 with XP Pro. USB flash drive appears in my computer, but must be formatted. If I click on the message in the format software generats the reader would noy be formatted. In properties-> volume are not met. If I click on fill to field will fill with the correct information. After OK everything will be gone. On an another identical T60, everything is OK. In the Manager of-> / place - >... it shows the correct information, the disk is online. Change the letter has no effect.

With USB HD even more interesting. A (350 GB) HD looks like 3 disks: 2 small HD and one HD unallocated. Yet once, it looks like 1 hd if I connect to other computers.

    Mouse and keyboard work fine.

I cleaned the reg. for usb devices. After that, if I insert the USB XP key will be detected and will show message that new hardware installed and ready. However, it does not work as I described above.

    I appreciate all the comments

    Hmm,

In this case I have to reformat all of my usb drives and usb HD even all of them are OK if I use other computers. I'll try it, but this isn't a solution. USB is not a big problem, but what is on USB HD?

Yes, I get you. Try it on the USB first just to see if it solves the problem. The question is of course with the Windows installation and how it's the disc but, re-setup of can not solve. This way if you still experience the problem after formatting the flash drive you will be one step closer to understand the issue.

Restore the system to a point when the keyboard worked.
