Recovery of Windows Home Server Software with a 64 bit Vista computer

I have a 64-bit office panoramas and cell phones.  I had problems with my HP EX470 and had to do a system recovery.  Now the software disk does not allow me to reinstall the software on my desktop.

When the original program and the network was created, we had the required 32-bit computer.  But now are not.  Is there a software updated?  I can not access the server and would like to access my files.

I tried connecting server... but because I did a cover of course passwords do not work. and I don't know if there is a default password.

Hello

I don't know what you're trying to make, about whether you have a problem, reinstall Vista, or not.

  • Windows Home Server 2008 now believes that it's three things.

We are a partner of Microsoft Certified skills.

We run a Windows Home Server 2008, with each patch as possible and kept up to date on everything we can. We use it for customers to play or download demos of vidoes and product on our site of Office 365, so there is no problem of speed or size on our Office 365 SharePoint site, before the size limit on BPOS.

The system has the excellent work for over 2 years. There are a couple of my films of the add-in so that we can maintain version control, a custom dashboard, so that we can update the user of Visual studio 2010 and perfect disk videos it allows to be 2009 a till th e14 this month.

A lot of changes began to sturdiness almost every night until the system is almost usless today.

1 Diskperfect sent an automatic update, which we do not have the server set for, because of the many issues in the past with windows home server.

    2. then the systetm started accepting all kinds of windows 2011 updates and automatic restarts on a database of 2003 with coverage WHS Server fancy top.

    3. the server started to accpeting all Microsoft Windows server 2003 Small Business Server updates

in the last 10 days and with never attempt to stop the automatic updates at night, with the exception of blocking off the system. Now the system truly believes that it belongs to WHS2008, part of WHS 2011 and part windows small business server 2003.

Support through our partner accout told us that it is impossible, got the journal reports and we can either retrieve the number SRX online and when we call we get from the SBS 2003 to SBS 2011 WHS and then told to call perfect disc three times happened in a BIG circle through my Department.

I wonder if anyone has had this problem or knows what Department or 800 number to call to get an actual resolution to this issue.

I can not afford continued internal loss of time.

  • Network with Windows Home Server hard drive. With the new files that wouldn't be no automatic update.

Installed Windows Home Server 2011 on my files allocatted to share on my wireless network, including a hard drive 2 TB external. Worked well able to watch movies, listen to music etc... As several files have been saved on the external hard drive (800G now) he would not recognize the new content (files or movies) previous content is ok, but nothing new would not reconise. Unplug the hard drive from the PC, pluged into the TV via USB and all the files are there, old and new. My PC is 3.2 GHz 1 G RAM and running Windows XP I was wondering if anyone know what would cause this? It would not be because I only have 1 g of ram?

  • Windows Home Server help please with the reader.

I have a Windows Home server in my office that has a single hard drive in it.  I continue to be told to use the repair utility when I turn on my computer.  I bought a new drive for the server.  Now that I need help, it's how to duplicate the new disc of the former, is there a way to do it, or do I have to copy all the content on another machine on the network, and then install the operating system from the beginning.  I want to avoid the loss of data.  Any help is greatly appreciated.

There are essentially two options available

Place the new drive as the primary drive and keep the original as a secondary disk. Install WHS as a repair install and it should pick up original and index folders and re-create the tombstones for them. Then use the move to folder option in the console to make the folders shared the second partition of the disk. However, the indexing process is quite intensive and is perhaps not ideal with a line of demarcation for lack of drive.

Alternative, remove the old drive and install the new, install WHS as a new facility that will create partitions C and D, including the new shared folders empty. Once the installation is finished, put the old one in as second drive or if this is not possible an external drive dock and then copy the contents of the old drive in the new. That would be my preferred option because it is perhaps easier and safer.

There is no option to save and copy and settings users, even with a repair installation, you must manually recreate the users.

  • Problem with Windows Home Server 2011 licens?

I recently bought a custom, compatible material to try the beta version of Windows Home Server 2011 (Vail), and now I want to upgrade to the full version. How do I proceed because there is only an OEM version of the operating system?

  • Cannot partition on Windows Home Server

    The problem:
We are currently the main C drive partitioned 20 GB and we cannot repartition try with several different partition tools.  The error via a tool, it's "the volume you have selected cannot be extended.  Other tools to give similar messages.  The hard drive is 250 GB RAID 1 mirror.

    What we tried:

A suggestion according to the https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/841650 does not include the home server edition so can't take the risk that she clearly serve States own risk.  We tried Acronis partition software, G-Parted, diskpart.exe command BACK and Macrorit http://macrorit.com/partition-magic-manager/server-diskpart-fails-to-extend-system-partition.html

    Other suspicious Info:

    1. System Properties window says that the operating system is 'Windows Home Server'.

2 window Information System indicates that the operating system is 'Windows 2003 Small Business Server. "

The person who owns that server call purchase Home Server edition.  Not sure if this is related or not, but it's conflicting information to find a solution.

Bottom line, even if that server is outdated and not fully supported any longer, we hope to keep alive a little more long if possible if we simply repartition C drive and increase the free space.  Other than replacing the server suggestions are appreciated because they are not willing to spend the money to replace the entire server.

  • Windows Home Server 2011 complete system restore problem = cannot start the LAN adapter

    Home built PC

Network adapter Atheros AR8151 PCI-E on the map connected to the LAN Cat6

    Windows Pro 10

Windows Home Server 2011 on LAN

I had a hard drive failure partial who gave no symptoms or errors except a VERY slow start-up and operation.  I tried to do a restore of the entire system of my Home Server 2011 backups to see if, perhaps, just the image was corrupt.  USB was created and all drivers copied from pilots for the full system restore folder.  Has started the full restoration of the system and loaded the missing NETWORK adapter driver by using the scanner for drivers.  Driver support was successful but no lights NIC and the message "cannot find server".  NETWORK card was working fine before, even with the bad hard drive and also after the abandonment of the restoration.  Installed the new drive hard C:-System and that was the main problem, BUT..., the later to restore attempt was always the NIC starts not problem.  Tried the driver directly at Gigabyte support and drivers drivers for the full restoration of the system of records from several different backups.  No love.  Just NIC does not start after the specified load successful pilot.

    All good advice?

This issue is beyond the scope of this site (for consumers) and to be sure, you get the best (and fastest) reply, we have to ask either on Technet (for IT Pro) or MSDN (for developers)

  • Windows Home Server - Hardware requirements

    Good afternoon

I am interested in creating a solution of Windows Home Server. I bought a Windows Home Server 2007 OEM media with the intention of creating my own solution, but never got around him a few years ago. My question for the community is the following: what are the hardware requirements for this solution?

For me, it's a question I think I should know, but for some reason any I am at a loss! I think I need at least 2 computers. The first is the server itself, the second is a stand-alone computer that connects to the network.

If you can give me some of the basic information I should know before diving into the Home Server I would really appreciate it. If you have all cards/articles that can help you with representation on what I need to do this would be as phenomenal.

    Thank you in advance!

I confess that I've never used WHS and have no idea about it but. I did some research on Google and found this: http://homeservershow.com/full-tutorial-on-how-to-install-and-setup-whs-version-1.html introduction which then link a fuller version here: http://www.howtogeek.com/howto/9659/how-to-install-and-setup-windows-home-server/
