Recovery partition is no longer available.

I had to use the partition for recovery/repair on my dektop PC (Vista home premium/SP2) who worked to solve my problem. However, it seems that this option is no longer available for me. The last time that I had a problem, I had to use my recovery disks and start over, which was a nuisance for your time. Is this normal, when you use this partition once, it becomes is no longer an option?

Contact your computer manufacturer for information about the recovery Partition.

This isn't their recovery process, Microsoft.

    Hello, this my phone trees.
I reset my Satellite A500 and due to a power failure reset did not finish. When I have inexplicable with F8 I can see HARD drive recovery option, and then must log on my account that I did not at all because of the power failure.
Then I installed a copy of Vista retail, hoping to create an account and be able to retrieve from the HARD drive.
PROBLEM! : Now I don't see the "Recovery disk" option at all.
QUESTION: There must be a way to integrate this option in the windows Startmenu (F8). Can someone help me with this issue? I burn the DVD recovery and the recovery partition is still there.
    Thanks in advance.

More big mistake made you ve, it's that you don't l l create recovery DVD such as recommended by Toshiba.

Why you didn t ask how it works before you do anything?
You've misunderstood with username and account.

Now, when you use your own installation, you need to remove the option for installation of HARD drive recovery and the recovery image can be installed with recovery only DVDs.
    Now, you have two options:
-to order the new recovery DVDs or
d ' use the clean install of the OS.

What do you think of this?
To be honest, I think you need to use Windows 7 on this laptop.

I recommend you to install Win7. Download page for all the necessary drivers, you can find and download from Toshiba

  • HP TouchSmart 520-1030: recovery of the disks are no longer available from the HP Support

I am trying to help a friend who's HP TouchSmart 520-1030 hard disk is dead.  I have the HP support site, fill out forms to buy 5 DVD System Recovery Disk Set Kit for this system. He even asked for my credit card information. Only after that I entered all this information, the system told me that the recovery kit was no longer available for this system. I tried to download a Windows 7 from Microsoft, but because the key of Windows 7 has been an OEM key, they told me I'd get from HP. I called HP support and they said that they could not get the kit. I asked them if I bought a new copy of Windows 7, the drivers would be available at HP. The phone technology said he didn't know. I asked him if he could tell me how I could know, he says 'No, good night' and hung up. I was not rude or anything. Very professional, in my opinion. In any case, I'm stuck. I know that my friend should have the recovery disks, but it didn't. Does this mean that he should throw a 3 year, $750 all-n-one computer? Does anyone have any suggestions? Thanks in advance!

If HP does no more, it is available here:

    Is it possible to solve?

  • Shrink system partition and the HP recovery partition.

    HP Pavilion dv6560el notebook PC

Windows Vista Home Premium (original OS pre-installed)

I want to shrink the system (C partition to make room for a new partition (Z.))

The new partition (Z will be used to store data.)

The Windows Vista disk management utility, run as administrator (of course), seems unable to reduce the system (C partition ("Access denied" error), both in normal and safe mode.)

The same failure by using the "DISKPART" utility via the Windows Vista command prompt (run as administrator, of course).

In order to facilitate the task, is seems (surf the web) which is the procedure to follow:

-start the computer pressing F8, then enter into the Windows recovery environment.

-log in as an administrator (of course).

-Open the Windows Recovery Environment command prompt.

-use the "DISKPART" utility in the prompt command in the Windows recovery environment, to reduce the system partition.

    -Restart in normal mode.

-log in as an administrator (of course).

-create a new partition (Z using the space unallocated drive just obtained by reduction of the system (C partition.))

-the new (Z partition will be created between the shrunken system (C partition and intact HP recovery (D partition.)))

    Two questions:

    1. the command "DISKPART shrink" work as expected, that is. It will actually decrease the system (C partition, if the "DISKPART" utility is run to the Windows recovery environment, rather than command prompt in Windows Vista itself?)

2 will be the HP recovery (D partition still operate, IE. the recovery environment Windows will still be available by pressing F8 and still run it if run on the line, if a new (Z partition is placed between the system (C partition and intact HP recovery (D partition itself?))))

Thanks in advance for the answers.

You recovery partition is no longer using the F11 key at startup. Burn your DVD recovery set before changing the hard drive somehow.

  • x 360: delete the recovery partition after installing Linux

    Hello

My x 360 laptop with 10 Windows works fine. I just installed Linux dual boot (w. Windows 10) on three new partitions. The scores are as below. E, F, G partitions are Linux.

    I have these questions please:

    1. is the recovery partition (D) no longer, now that I have partitioned the disk? (I did a recovery USB flash drive when I bought the computer)

    2. is it safe to remove the recovery partition (D)?

    3. There is also a small partition of 980 MB. What is c? Is it safe to remove?

    Thank you

    YCC

Sorry, no.  You can not recover by using the HP Recovery partition after you change the partitioning scheme.

As it is now, you might as well delete it.

It will not hurt to remove it now because the HP Recovery works doesn'y work in any case.

I know Macrium Reflect can backup and restore Windows and Linux distros because I have tried it, myself.

    Good luck

  • 5420 recovery Acer extensa disk is no longer available... where I can find

I have an Acer Extensa 5420.  The hard drive has been corrupted, so I replaced it with a new 320.  I don't have the recovery disks.  I contacted Acer and they said that they are no longer available.  My daughter just bought a new Acer Aspire, I was wondering if I order the recovery disc for her new laptop will be that I could use to reinstall an operating system or do I have the original.  If I can't do it, where can I get the recovery disc for the Extensa?

    Hello

they are not the same models

you have an Extensa, you daughter has an Aspire

recovery discs are the model and the specific brand

see if you have a recovery partition on your hard drive to factory back to top of page

with an Acer, you press Alt + F10 at startup to start the recovery process

and to make recovery disks it click on start - search under software Acer - then under eRecovery

or borrow a vista microsoft dvd; not a HP, Acer recovery disk etc

Make sure that you borrow the correct 32-bit or 64-bit microsoft dvd to your computer

they contain all versions of vista

This is the product key that determines which version of vista is installed

  • Satellite L50 - A - 1 6: restore the preinstalled recovery Partition

    Hi all.

I changed the partition of my HARD drive, now the preistalled Partion Recovery is no longer available.
I understand that in this way, that the partition table has been altered and if the recovery Partition is not found to restore the factory settings or create a recovery disk.

However, the recovery partition is still on the HARD drive and its contents seems to be correct.

Is there a way to make the partition available recovery yet?
(For the moment, I can use the Lalonde by starting a 'live cd')

    Thanks in advance.

    > Is there a way to make the partition available recovery yet?
If I understand the recovery partition is still available, but the problem is that the installation of recovery tool can't find it more. Recovery partition is visible only in the event that this laptop has the factory settings and initially defined partition structure.

Unfortunately now you can start recovery image installation.
Did you create a recovery media according to the instructions described in the user s manuals document?

    * PS: I live in Tunisia and I can't order the recovery DVD

    Hello

If you place your order of recovery disks is not possible, here's another solution, you can try.

Before you try the following, make sure that you can always read the character product activation key 25 on your label Windows COA (5 blocks of 5 alphanumeric games).

An example of a COA label can be seen here.

You can create a Windows 7 installation disc yourself using another PC - just download the good Disk Image ( must be the same version originally supplied with your PC - IE probably Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit ) from the link below and use an app like ImgBurn to burn the ISO correctly on a blank DVD - a guide on the use of ImgBurn to write an ISO on a disc is here.  These Images are clean and a well respected source, however there are only limited versions available.

    Windows 7 sp1-iso-official-32-bit-and-64-bit

Use the disk to perform the installation, enter the activation key of Windows on the label of the COA at the request and once the installation is complete, use ' 'phone Method' described in detail in the link below to activate the operating system -this made method supported by Microsoft and is popular with people who want to just have a new installation of Windows 7 without additional software load normally comes with OEM installations.

    http://www.kodyaz.com/articles/how-to-activate-Windows-7-by-phone.aspx

All pilots additional and the software, you may need can be found here.

  • HP Envy Pheonix - move or delete the recovery partition

I just bought a HP Envy Pheonix 800 and there a 120 GB ssd for the OS.  Ago a second partition that is for recovery that is as I wish to move or to get rid of so that I can have the other space available for files such as 120 GB can fill up pretty fast.

If I create a defined backup drive I'll be able to get rid of this partition and it is part of c:?

Or can the partition be moved safely to the other HD without any problem?

Thanks in advance for any help.

    Marc

    Hello

As long as you create your recovery media set - see link below-, so it should be no problem deleting the partition (moving it usually breaks its functionality).  If you need to use the recovery media to perform a 'factory Reset', this process will reinstall the OS and recreate all of the original scores, including recovery D.

Create recovery media - Windows 8.

About the removal of the recovery partition, you can often do this through the application Recovery Manager as shown in the HP document on the link below.

    http://support.HP.com/us-en/document/c00810279

If this option is not available, you can simply delete the recovery Partition using Windows Disk Manager and extend c in the unallocated space.

  • Pavilion 6b50ei: try to factory reset but the recovery partition/drives created are defective

I have a pavilion dv7-6b50ei notebook pc purchased 2012. He always gives a command prompt pop up who don't stay long enough to read. I felt too there is a virus on it that my anti-virus did not solve so I tried the factory reset, but when I restart and press F11 it gives an error (something like a boot... is missing). so I tried my recovery disks. CD 1 of 4 ran fine but disk 2 continues to stop with an error. Now, the laptop will not charge because I think that the operating system was formatted during the recovery and do not know what to do. I feel disc 2 is bad too because he also gave an error trying to copy on a USB key. I also tried an external dvd and run the hp hard disk test; the hard drive passed the test. If I can get a new set of recovery discs, it would solve my problem. In addition, I look forward to ideas. Help, please.

    Hello

    There are two options available.

    1. you can order a set of replacement recovery disks using the link below - it will reinstall the operating system, all the drivers, and almost all of the original software (the exception being often tests of MS Office).  They will also recreate all of the original scores, including the recovery Partition.

    Order HP recovery disks.

2 another option that you might consider is to create your own Windows 7 installation disc.

Before you try the following, make sure that you can still read all the key character product activation 25 on your label Windows COA (5 blocks of 5 alphanumeric games).

An example of a COA label can be seen here.

You can create a Windows 7 installation disc yourself using another PC - just download the Disk Image correct ( this must be the same version that originally came with your laptop - it is listed as Windows 7 Home Premium 64 - bit ) from the link below and use an app like ImgBurn ( Note: you can deselect additional software during installation of ImgBurn offerings) to burn the ISO correctly on a blank DVD - a guide on the use of ImgBurn to write that an ISO on a disc is here.  The source of the Windows Image is Digital River.

    Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit SP1.

You may need, additional drivers and software are here.

  • HP Pavilion system recovery partition deleted 15-e054se

My mom bought my laptop in the last Kuwait September 2013 and she brought here in the Philippines in October. last night, while I tried to install an update of my bluetooth driver, I met an error which caused my laptop restart and restart continuously. I tried to reset my laptop via the reset option, but it has encountered an error during the process, and the following error that prompted was "boot device not found. Please install an operating system"or something... in the meantime, I started to freak out already and I thought of simply replacing the windows 8 with a windows 7. so, I went ahead and install windows 7 on my laptop. Hello:

    Answers...

    1 Yes there is.

You can use all the W7 x 64 drivers and software of this model except the audio.

DO NOT USE ALL DOWNLOADS OF BIOS OR FIRMWARE FROM THIS LINK

    http://h10025.www1.HP.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareCategory?OS=4063&LC=en&cc=us&DLC=en&sw_lang=&product=5278311

Audio: Accept the agreement. Download and install the second on the list (W7 x 64)

    http://www.Realtek.com.tw/downloads/downloadsView.aspx?langid=1&PNid=24&PFID=24&level=4&Conn=3&DownTypeID=3&GETDOWN=false

    2. you can no longer make a W8 recovery disk, because you deleted the recovery partition.

If you want to reinstall W8, you can try this...

Upload this W8 OEM ISO file from the link below.

    https://docs.Google.com/file/d/0B0W9PBigPy94aVJWSndyTFNFMzg/edit?PLI=1

Then use this tool to make the downloaded ISO file on a key USB 4 GB or DVD bootable.

    http://www.microsoftstore.com/store/msusa/HTML/pbPage.Help_Win7_usbdvd_dwnTool

The W8 product key encrypted in the BIOS should fill the W8 installation and automatically activate.

  • zBook 17: the recovery Partition d drive

It's very basic, but I pay much more attention to my RESUME, I've done my Dell recently replaced.

What is the D: drive? It is clearly a tool of recovery (or package), so in case of problems you would interrupt the boot, 'Pierce by F8' and have the first boot of the machine for this drive? Once there, the drive is bootable and various files and folders on the disk contain the tools to recover the machine, right? How can I find out what files/fiolders (or files in the folders) to put on each recovery DVDs in order to make space on drive D: available?

The D: partition is the recovery partition.

    Never save anything for her.

It also means that the system of protection for the D: partition must be disabled.

As long as you remember that and do not delete it, you will be able to call the Recovery Manager.

You will be able to power on with a combination of keys F9 and also be able to use in the Windows environment.

To see what's inside the partition, you will need to change the folder options to show hidden files and display operating system files.

You will see the same files as in the image below, with minor differences may be.

  • Burn recovery partition

Really disappointed. I have a tm2-2050us that I really liked. Unfortunately, I tried to install Windows 8 on it. Although he had very few problems, and it worked. I decided that I didn't like the new operating system. I decided to return the netbook to factory-installed. Unfortunately, not only I did not create a copy of my original CD (I didn't know I could do it on a USB key!), but Windows 8 did something on the recovery partition. No matter what I tried, the D partition was empty.

I have Windows 7 install disks, so I managed to set up a USB with this top and do a cleanup. But of course now I don't have any of the features that I really liked this netbook like the TouchSmart software and automatic rotation of the screen. Then I go to the support page and guess what? HP can't stand this netbook. Of course, some original drivers are here, but none of the original software. I go to the recovery disks section and fill in the information and any recovery disks are available. I don't want just an OS Windows 7, I want the full enjoyment that I got when I bought it. I understand not obsolete, but this netbook is only 2 years old!

I've been a supporter for a long time of HP products. I have four HP computers in my house, purchased 1 HP laptop for my daughter, helped buy a HP laptop for a co-worker, have a HP eprint station at home and boughtt an HP printer for my daughter. I always have backups on all my systems, but as the netbook did not have a dvd player, I never gave it a thought. Shame on me! But, shame on HP for the lack of support to something in 2 years!

    @RogueCowboy

You do not need to include the recovery partition - and why would you? It is empty.

  • Cannot turn on FileVault 2: "some disc formats do not support the recovery partition" version of the OS - 10.11.4

    Hello

I went to turn on FileVault encryption for the first time, and when I click on restart (by FileVault guests) I got a error message that says "FileVault can not be enabled for the drive. Some disc formats do not support the required encryption recovery partition. To use encryption, reinstall this version of Mac OS x on a reformatted drive. »

I found an article from apple support for this problem with El Capitan who recommended first aid running in disk utility.  I tried this but then received the same error message.

    a little history:

-Mac OS 10.11.4 installed running on the brand/model ADATA SP 550 SSD

-This SSD is a 250 GB drive partitioned into two, with one of these partitions being my OS

-J' ran this BONE of a Bay external thunderbolt

-ssd is formatted as HFS journaling +.

I am really confused about this error message and couldn't find much online about it.  I use a fairly recent OS install.  I installed the operating system clean and made all my preferences and install so that I can encrypt and then back up this pristine OS environment in time machine so that I could always go back to it on the line in case where things are bunk too upward.  I'd have to install yet another OS to clean and do all my long software installs and system preferences settings... SIP.  I don't know if that makes a difference, but this version of the OS that I have been cloned by superduper to this SSD partition.

What is the brand of SSD that I?  Might that matter?  I appreciate all the comments.  I'm really scratching my head...

    Thank you very much

To enable FileVault, you need a recovery partition, which you don't have. You can create one by reinstalling OS X.

If you do not already have a current backup, please backup all data, and then reinstall the OS. * you don't need to erase the boot volume, and you won't need the backup unless something is wrong. If the system has been upgraded an earlier version of Mac OS X, you may need to the Apple ID and password to use.

There are ways to back up a computer that is not fully functional. Ask if you need advice.

If you installed the runtime Java distributed by Apple, and still need, you will need to reinstall it. It goes the same for Xcode. All other data will be preserved.

Related support article refers to OS X 10.11 ("El Capitan"), but the procedure is the same for OS X 10.7 ("Lion") and later versions.
