Hello world!

I was trying to reinstall Windows 7 Edition home premium on my HP Pavilion dv7-2280eo, when I was prompted with this message.

I had previously deleted my entire hard drive by mistake, trying to Chrome OS and Windows 7 dualboot.

So, naturally, I tried to run the BIOS recovery, but nothing helps.

I then remove Chrome OS by formatting the hard disk (quick format) a Fedora live USB, I had laying around.

So now I'm trying to reinstall Windows 7 through my HP recovery disks, but this error message does not seem to let me pass. Is there something I can do?

I fixed it!

Alright. I thought I might as well make a step to step guide for people who in the future may face the same problem I had.

1. download MiniTool Partition Wizard Bootable. ISO file. (Download herepage, choose the one at the bottom of the page.) (Bravo @ CherylG for the download link.)

2 create a bootable CD with the. ISO file using any CD/DVD burning software you have. (Or if you have not, you can download imgburn for free here ) (Once again, Bravo @ CherylG for the download link.)

3. make sure that your boot order is correct.
Even if it should automatically start, seeing that you currently do not have any BIOS operating system start to, as in my case, you might have to move your CD/DVD drive to the top of your boot priority in the BIOS.

4. make sure you have a wired ethernet (CAT5) cable. For some reason any MiniTool Partition Wizard does not start without a wired internet connection.

5 start the MiniTool Partition Wizard.
In my case, I deleted all the partitions on the left, while I knew that I wasn't wasting any space to keep all the files in my failed experiment of chrome. Essentially, you want to have a completely unallocated * HARD drive, if it wasn't what you started with. Now create a FAT32 partition *, covering the entire HARD drive, so that you just now had a large FAT32 partition. Now, go ahead and format this partition, again, using parameters of FAT32. Now go to general > output

* Unallocated space appears as gray in the MiniTool Partition Wizard
* Apparently NTFS does not work with the recovery discs. It must be FAT32.

6. now when you start your PC using your HP (Disc 1) recovery disks and click on recover to factory settings windows and accept the agreements and the following warnings.

7 feed on your computer, your HP recovery discs until he did install.

8. enjoy your freshly recovered computer.

I hope this helps someone in the future! And if you really wiped out your entire hard drive accidentally drive, (like me ~ ~)
Don't forget, the failure is the first step to success!

    Hello

1 did you changes to the computer before the show?

    2. When you receive the error message?

Try the steps below and check if the problem persists.

    Step 1:

    Safe mode

Safe mode starts Windows with a limited set of files and drivers. Startup programs do not work in safe mode, and only the basic drivers needed to start Windows are installed.

See the link below to start the computer in safe mode.

Start your computer in safe mode

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-Vista/start-your-computer-in-safe-mode

    Step 2:

    Clean boot

I recommend you perform the clean boot.

Put your boot system helps determine if third-party applications or startup items are causing the problem. If so, you need to maybe contact the manufacturer of the program for updates or uninstall and reinstall the program.

See the following article in the Microsoft KB for more information on how to solve a problem by performing a clean boot in Windows Vista or Windows 7:

How to troubleshoot a problem by performing a clean boot in Windows Vista or in Windows 7

    Note:

After troubleshooting, be sure to set the computer to start as usual as mentioned in step 7 in the above article.
