Please help me,

Hi Prince,

Do you receive an error message/code?

To better understand the issue, I would need more details on the issue.

The information in the folder recycle sometimes file is corrupt and will be so shown an empty basket even if there are a lot of files in the recycler folder. Windows will automatically recreate the information file if its lack so the best way to repair is to remove the information file:

  1. Start a command (cmd.exe) prompt
  2. Move to the folder Recycle
  3. Enter the command
    Info h attrib *
  4. Delete the file
    del Info
  5. Restart the computer

If it's the actually recycler folder that is corrupted, you may need to remove this element by removing the system and hidden attributes (attrib h s c:\recycler) and then by removing

Your basket has nothing to do with uninstalling programs. You're probably just remove a shortcut.

Here is an article on how to repair a trash corrupted in Vista: http://www.vistax64.com/tutorials/131294-recycle-bin-corrupted-cannot-delete-file-folder.html.

It restarts if you left or do a right-click on the icon or both?  Here are a few ways to empty it by using two methods:

    1. On the desktop, right-click on the Recycle Bin.
    2. Then click the Empty trash to empty its contents.
    3. You will be asked if you are sure that before it permanently deletes the files.
    4. If you're absolutely sure, then click Yes to clear the contents of the Recycle Bin.
    5. Alternatively, you can double-click the Recycle Bin to open and examine its contents.
    6. And then on the file menu, click empty the Recycle Bin.
    7. After confirmation, Windows Vista will be empty all files from the Recycle Bin.

Go to control panel / customization / Desktop Icons and remove the trash, click OK and close.  Then go back and add the trash.  See if the new basket has the same problem.

Here is a program that you download that adds a command to empty the trash to the command line if all that you need to do is type of the command in the box search now and it will happen. http://itsvista.com/2007/01/itsvista-tip-23-empty-vistas-recycle-bin-from-the-command-line/.

    I hope this helps.

    Good luck!

  • Recycle bin empty habit

I can't delete the permanately out of my trash.  I tried the fix to enter the command promp rd/s/qc:\$recycle.bin that this has not worked for me.  Could you please help me out I think that the tray holds a large number of data and other things in there.  Thank you

Did you use an elevated command prompt? It is a right click and "Run as Administrator".

Did you enter the command that you typed above or do you have the spaces that should be there,

    namely rd /s /q C:\$Recycle.bin?

You repeat this step for every hard drive that displays computer?

It is use rd /s /q D:\$Recycle.bin in addition, if you have a D: drive.

Follow exactly the instructions for one of the following methods:

  • file $rafsykh in the recycling bin seems to be store empty even when items

Tonight I used windirstat (http://windirstat.info/) to search for large files that I could remove to make more space on my hard drive and found about 7 GB in the trash, even after it had been emptied. The files are in a folder called $rafsykh and contains music files that were there when I emptied a few days ago. If I go into this folder, I can actually play the files, while they in fact seem to be there.

    A few photos

    Basket is empty
    http://img.Photobucket.com/albums/V302/dankarak/rbin.jpg

What is $rafsykh, why are the files still there and how I remove them? These files are so that they can be restored?

It seems that your Recycle Bin is corrupted.

You can remove it using this procedure: http://www.vistax64.com/tutorials/131294-recycle-bin-corrupted-cannot-delete-file-folder.html

The Recycle Bin on Vista, it works that the two files are created: Let's start with R$ and the other with I$ followed by a random string. The I$ file contains metadata that and rhe $R file contains the original data. Eventually the $I file has been deleted, but something stopped deleting the $R file.

-The 1000 at the end of the SID indicates that these files belong to the first account created on the computer. If it is different from the account that you use to display the Recycle Bin you will not see them. A user only sees the content of the trash that they have created.

  • My recycling bin icons fail to activate properly / affected by windows mail

After 2 years works perfectly, my full/empty trash registered only now activate (on my desktop) after that I have enter or exit Windows Mail.

IBC works normally otherwise. Only the change of icon does not have at the time. I have all of the default settings.

Added; the bin function is normal. Bin, the bin or empty bin icon status does not change according to the condition of bin.

If I empty the tray, the icon is complete. Then becomes later empty. (usually when I go into Windows mail)

Suggested fix has not been set. Thank you

    > my only registered full/empty trash now activate (on my desktop) after I enter or exit Windows Mail

    > Only the icon change does not meet the time

    I'm sorry.

None of the above 2 phrases doesn't make sense to me.

    > my recycle bin icons fail to activate properly / affected by windows mail

That tells us it is NOT. And why blame Windows Mail so that it does not?
