Unallocated space is not visible in disk management

Hello
So I dropped my volume of the C: drive of 20480 KB, and after it decreases, it was not visible as long as the space that is not allocated. At this point, my C: disk space has fallen 20 GB, and yet the unallocated space was not visible in disk management. So, I tried to reduce it again but the same problem occurred. I tried to refresh the disk management, and unallocated space appear. I tried to restart my computer, it does not appear. Initially, I got appx. 450 GB of space on the C: drive, but now I 391,66 Go.

The link below is a screenshot of disk management window:

I have no idea what to do, so please help solve me this problem.

  • My SATA to USB bridge is not recognized in disk management

I bought a few SATA USB adapter, connected to my WD hard drive and my USB port, the computer recognizes, to install software for it and that's all.
I can't read the disc via Explorer because it is not recognized, only in the Device Manager it seems nowhere to be found, saying SPIF30x USB2SATA bridge device USB. I've searched for so many solutions and everything I find people you said to go to disk management and assign it a letter. Problem is, it does not appear. Everything I see here, is my main hard drive, divided into 4 parts, which should be normal, but in the port USB (F:\), where I plugged the adapter, it shows nothing. The adapter itself has 2 LEDs indicating power and access, with only the power light that shines. The light also keeps shining when I plug the hard disk, so my guess is the adapter is recognized, but the disk is not. The drive should work, I've so far always used internally (SATA cable from the motherboard, you know).

Bought a new Toshiba 500 GB drive external usb.  My XP desktop won't recognize/find this disc.  It does not appear when you view the disk management or work station.  I also have it on my new laptop (Vista) and it has been found immediately.  My research online only tells me to find the external drive in disk management and assign a drive letter to... but I don't think to assign a letter! Toshiba says that the drive is compatible with XP. I have another smaller disk capacity that work perfectly on the XP machine.  Please tell us what should I do to have my Office XP recognize the

  • New SSD is not showing in disk management, but does in the BIOS

I just got a brand new CS1311 PNY 240 GB SSD at Amazon, and I hooked all with Y Molex connector and plug the sata cable in the third free port.  I went to format and partition so I can start adding games, but it does not appear.  I then stopped and went into the BIOS and it turns out that there is in the third SATA port.  But not in disk management.  Any ideas?  The third SATA port is not intended for a storage drive?  Should I change the SSD in ports SATA and the blu - ray player?  Manufacturing of blu - ray 3 instead of 2 port and the port of the SSD 2 instead of 3?

I'm not trying to install windows on it or start with him, I just format and partition.  I want to just use it for games.  Any help would be appreciated.

  • Windows 8 can't find my SATA drive (2). It does not appear in disk management, but it appear when I open the tab of properties on any drive and click displays all disks. What should do?

I bought a new computer (custom build) and Frys Electronics put it together for me.  Disk 0 is a 128 GB SSD, 1 disk is a SATA 2 TB drive, and disc 2 is a 1 TB SATA drive. Readers of 0 and 1 have been configured correctly when I installed Windows 8 but Drive 1 was not found\initialized. Player 2 does not appear in the disk management window, but when I click on properties on any drive, and then on the "hardware" tab, the drive appears.  If I can get windows to find it, I can go configure manually.  DiskPart cannot find disc 2 in the 'LIST' command and when I get in car 2 on other commands that require a number of disc, nothing happens.

    What should I do?

    Thank you.

I ran an old Western Digital (the two SATA drives are WD) diagnosis and there are 1 OK to drive.  I tested it and it doesn't have a writing that test a few zeros.  I thought that it was a bad drive and I must return to the seller.  The next morning I tried the WD diagnosis again and this time he passed.  The app then allowed me to format it and it assign a drive letter.

It seems to be OK now, but I'm not load all the files on it again.

Thank you all for your support.

  • RDM wil not appear in disk management (Windows)

    Hi all -

I was wondering if anyone has seen anything it is flaky like this before with fixing a RDM on a Windows virtual machine. Appreciate your thoughts.

Trying to fix a lun of 500 GB on a Windows virtual machine in physical mode, but it will not be displayed. I tried different a few times, and I saw him appear momentarily once in disk mgmt before disappearing for ever to be reviewed.

    My environment:

vCenter and each host is ESXi 5.1.

VM was a p2v there are many moons, a virtual fashion existing THAT RDM attached

VM is 2003 Enterprise Server SP2

    What I tried:

RDM created and attached to EMC VNX. Everything works as expected until I try new analysis/view in os, never appears

RDM created and attached to second EMC VNX as a test, same result.

Attached successfully original lun to a different server, to refine the original vm question

Refreshing storage of the host where vm resides, several times throughout the process

Rescan disk management, via the interface chart and diskpart

Tried to add RDM device nodes for virtual scsi

Storage of refreshment thanks to manage paths

Event Viewer Checked to find the error that "all paths to xxxxxxxxxx died", but this is not normal (to manage paths all are active, and the other one is on the same storage array)

    Server restarts

No idea what I can try?

I think I've figured this out. I just tried to add the new lun in virtual mode, as the other attached RDM, and it finally worked. Maybe you can have different LUN attached in different modes on the same server. I log all my RDM in physical mode because I don't want their broken, but a vm, I inherited was attached in virtual mode, so I was hoping to begin to solve this with a new physical RDM mode to transfer data to it. Don't think.

  • Not showing disk space is not Up on comments

    Hello

I'm on VM Svr 2.0 and I have Windows 2 k 3 as host and also guest operating system running! The guest operating system is a domain controller with a copy of the Global catalog. My problem is associated with disc and I don't know why it shows like this. First of all, I created the host on a local disk, which lies within the HOST. Then I got a second disk and added to the HOST and installs the virtual machine by copying the VM and VM addition to this NEW storage folder. I deleted from the original VM. Now I had initially allocated 15 GB for the first VM, and then he went to 20 GB on the OLD local disk. Since coming from the virtual machine to the new drive, I increased once again the size of the disk of 40 GB. Disk space is allocated in advance; Continuous and optimized for security, have been chosen options. However, when I go to the guest operating system "My Computer" and look at the properties of the drive, it shows only a total of 15 GB (8 GB in use) and 7 GB free. Is there something wrong here or is this a normal phenomenon and the disc will grow? I did not choose this option. Access Web VI shows that I have 40 GB allocated to the VM.

    Hello

If you have increased the size of the disk invited, you will need run the commands of OS relevant to use the space.  Launch your Windows Disk Manager to see if you can see the unpartitioned space.  If you can, you should be able to extend an existing partition, or create a new in the usual way.

    Good luck

  • Hard drive shows in the Bios and Device Manager but not in disk management.

I recently had a hard drive fail because of the excessive heat in the computer case (he also took a memory too). When I plug the drive as a secondary drive in any computer it will appear in the Bios and the Manager of devices, but not in disk management, nor can it be considered be as ZAR and Spinrite disk utility.

The disc spins up and down when turned on and seems to work. Just trying to recover data from the disk, so I can put it on a new drive.

    Hello

I'm having a little trouble with a PC, my father gave me. He was still under Windows XP, I formatted his 5 ready for my use SATA drives, then I installed Windows 7. • Satellite L750 - unallocated space after custom partition

    Hello

I bought a new Satellite L750 of 640 GB HD and made a custom 400 GB for C: partition and expecting a ~ 200 GB for a D:; with the remaining GB in an HD hidden for the restoration of the window use.

After the complete installation and start-up of the window, I can only see a C: or my GB of 200 ~ 400 becomes not allocated. No other player number is displayed.

Can someone help me how I can create an E: or what that lead to make use of this no allocated space.
How can I access? I have to redo the entire system again and just send it to C: and forget a second drive?

    H.E.L.P. Please.

    Hello

I hope that you have created a recovery disc before changing the partitions on the HARD disk.
I guess you HDD recovery would not work after the partitions has been changed.

In any case, all partitions can be verified in disk management.
    Right-click on computer-> Manage
Here, you go to disk management

Generally, all partitions and unallocated space must be visible. Here, you can create a new partition or can change and change the partitions again.

  • Vista Shrink volume resulted in 75 lack space volume and 0 GB unallocated space. No possibility of partition. Lost space.

I wanted to create a partition on a 150 GB internal hard drive. It is NOT the boot drive, it's the drive D. I got more than half the volume free and retractable Vista specific volume I could use up to 90 GB. I selected 75GB for the shrink.  After the SHRINK, it resulted in 75 lack volume and space 0 GB unallocated space for the partition. Volume shrinkage has returned an error and did not provide additional instructions. Unfortunately, I don't have the error message as I deleted it by mistake. It was a small error message in Shrink.

VISTA 32-bit, updates to update... I just downloaded EASEUS Partition Master and it shows I have 150 GB of total space, unused and 0 free 90 not allocated. Looks like the problem doesn't show in the view "Properties..." (75 GB of total space, 15 GB free unused).  I don't know what the file system will be used to allocate new space. I think I'll try to copy a large file and see which uses the file system...

When I look at the following:
Computer management, storage,... disk management it says I have: Simple, Basic, disk 1, disk Local (d) 150 GB, NTFS, healthy (Primary Partition). (NO unallocated space appears on this menu)

When I look at the properties of the D: drive:
Local disk (d :)) 75 GB of capacity.

I just lost 75 GB! Help...

I don't know what happened. Shrink did not partition instructions... The space is lost forever?

When you shrink a volume you create unallocated space which should appear in computer management - I don't know why it is not appear on your system.

Maybe you can try to expand the volume to find the size of the original score (although it will wipe the data that is on the drive): http://www.howtogeek.com/howto/windows-vista/resize-a-partition-for-free-in-windows-vista/. (but I doubt it will work because there is no contiguous unallocated space appear).

Here is another article on how to shrink and expland a partition under Vista.  Perhaps by reading the instructions for the narrowing, you will notice something did you not (or has done, but shouldn't have).  Otherwise, extend the partition could reclaim your lost space.  http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/tutorials/tutorial133.html.  Yet once again, because there is no unallocated space appear, I don't know if it will work (in fact, I don't think it will be).

My best suggestion is to temporarily store the data on the disk also narrowed and then format the drive.  This should bring back to his full 150 GB and then you can try it again narrows (if you are still interested in this).

    I hope this helps.

    Good luck! Lorien - a - MCSE/MCSA/network + / A +.

  • unallocated space between partitions

I installed Windows 7. during installation I made a partition (70 GB) in all of the space allocated and left others as unallocated space
I installed Windows, then in management discs I couldn't do in extended partition. Windows I only made two more primary partitions.
So I used MiniTool Partition Wizard to create partitions.
But when I did an extended partition with three logic in what I saw two unallocated space (2 MB) after and before the extended partition.
    Is - this usual?

    I have another question?
    The process is better?

    (1) for installation in the window where you want to install Windows (player option (Advanced)) I'm doing a partition out of unallocated space (for example 70 GB) for the installation of operating system and left another space as unallocated space and after installing I make my partitions in management of disks or with MiniTool Partition Wizard

    Or

    (2) for installation in the window where you want to install Windows (player option (Advanced)) I'm doing a partition of all the unallocated space (disk space) to install the OS and after installation I reduce it and make my partitions.

    Hello

We do not recommend using the partitioning utilities 3.

They result in an unsupported configuration.
