Recycle Office 2007 spam filter on each update?
Why does keep the junk of office e-mail filter whenever there is an update? That must cost white collar and manufacturers a tidy sum small in a fiscal year.

Error code 646: Windows Vista re Office 2007 SP 2 through Windows Update
I am running Vista Home Premium, SP1, 32-bit. Office 2007 SP1 is installed.
I've restored an Office 2007 SP2 hidden (and almost forgotten) update. Failed twice. The error code is 646.
Since the update wouldn't install and just sitting there, looking at me with a big red FAIL on it, I hid it again. Please let me know if there is a procedure to follow?
BTW, I ran into the same problems that other posters have recently that some updates installs successfully through Windows Update, others I had to install directly on the Microsoft site. Once the updates have been installed manually, of course, they were not offered by Windows Update.
Should I give the Office 2007 SP2 a whirl and try to install directly from the MS Download page, or is there something else I should do/check before this attempt?
Thanks in advance!
Download Office SP2 on the download site and try to install manually.

Windows Update and Microsoft Update offer updates for Office programs that you have not installed
What particular updates for Office 2007 are available to you? Are they updates for spectators, or compatibility packs etc.?

PLEASE GIVE ME AN ANSWER!
Hi Mihai,
Welcome to the Microsoft Answers site!
As you use the trial version of Windows 7 this could still be a problem, you can perform the below given steps and see if it helps.
Step 1:
You can run (Checksur.exe) system update readiness tool
Download and run (Checksur.exe) system update readiness tool. After downloading this tool, it runs an ad hoc analysis of inconsistencies that might prevent future maintenance operations.
For more information about how to download and run the system update readiness tool, click on the number below to view the article in the Microsoft Knowledge Base: 947821 Description of the system update tool for Windows Vista and Windows Server 2008: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/947821
In article 947821, scroll down to the "Microsoft Download Center" section, and then click the link to download the update for your operating system preparation tool.
Step 2:
You will need to maybe reset the Windows Update components, download the Microsoft fix - it from the link and run the wizard that automatically resets the windows update components, if it does not, I recommend that reset you manually update windows components from the link: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/971058
These steps should solve the problem, give it a try and check if you are able to perform windows updates.
You can also try to download updates manually and install one by one.
Hope this information is useful.

Update tries to install Office 2002/XP, but I am running Vista with Office 2007
Whenever I start the update asks me to install Office 2002/XP: Office XP SP3. It is classified as an important update.
My settings are "check for updates but let me choose whether to download and install them.
But I am running VIsta Home + Office 2007. Never had Office 2002 installed on this computer. So why he asks me for this update? How can I stop asking him or should I install it? and if so why should I install it?
Thank you
Hi langsat,.
Welcome to the forum of Microsoft.
I would like to know some information like:
1. What is the number of KB of the update for office XP that fails?
2. Please check if you have Office XP installed on your computer application?
Some time, you get the update, if the application was installed before, then removed. All by removing certain tracks or files of the application have not eliminated completely.
In this scenario, you could get the update. If it the update to office XP SP3, it is not required in Vista.
3. click on start-> Control Panel-> Security and then under Windows Update, click view update history. Check your history of Windows Update and this list, what is the date of the last update installed, and let me know the number KB of the update that failed to download and install recently?
If you find that the number is KB832671 for Office XP Service Pack 3 (SP3), you should follow the steps mentioned below:
a - open programs and features by clicking on the Start button, click Control Panel, clicking programs, and then clicking programs and features.
b - search application for Microsoft office XP if installed, and then click Uninstall. If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.
c - in the case where you do not find the application in Add Remove programs or unable to uninstall it, and then download and run windows clean up utility from the link given below: http://download.microsoft.com/download/e/9/d/e9d80355-7ab4-45b8-80e8-983a48d5e1bd/msicuu2.exe
d Please delete all files for Microsoft office XP, if you find.
e for more information please follow the link: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/290301
f - once all the files are deleted, restart the computer once.
We can also do the following to reset the Windows Update components manually:
Step 1:
Click Start, run and type cmd. Right-click "Command Prompt" and select "Run as Administrator".
Click on 'Continue' in the UAC prompt.
At the command prompt, type the following commands and press ENTER after each command:
net stop wuauserv
net stop bits
Step 2: Rename the Catroot2 folder.
Type the following commands and press ENTER after each command.
net stop cryptsvc
Ren %systemroot%\System32\Catroot2 catroot2.old
net start cryptsvc
Step 3: Rename the folder "C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution".
Ren %systemroot%\SoftwareDistribution SoftwareDistribution.old
Step 4: Save the files used by Windows Update and Microsoft Update.
At the command prompt, type the following commands, press ENTER after each command, and then click OK every time that you receive a verification message:
regsvr32 c:\windows\system32\wuapi.dll
regsvr32 c:\windows\system32\wuaueng.dll
regsvr32 c:\windows\system32\wucltux.dll
regsvr32 wups2.dll

Tried to uninstall Microsoft Office 2007 (after checking you have the product key and the media to install again) and then restart, his fresh installation, download and install * manually * Service Pack 1 for Office 2007, Office 2007 Service Pack 2 and Service Pack 3 for Office 2007?
* would manually by clicking on the related above, download link and save the file on your computer, restarting and connect with administrator rights and run this update of the saving on your computer location. Once completed, restart the computer. Repeat for each. Once done with the three of us - visit http://windowsupdate.microsoft.com/ and do a scan for updates and start the installation of any hardware related and not optional (for now). Reboot after each tour, visit the web page again until you have more up-to-date (high priority).
For more general questions, you think you might have (including just ensuring that Windows Update components work properly in general):
Search for malware:
Download, install, execute, update and perform analyses complete system with the two following applications:
Remove anything they find. Reboot when necessary. (You can uninstall one or both when finished.)
Search online with eSet Online Scanner. Delete everything is found.
Reset.
From this moment - I guess you know how to open Internet Explorer and do a scan custom Microsoft Updates from http://windowsupdate.microsoft.com/ . That's what I want to talk by saying, "Try get updates."
Now reset your Windows with this FixIt components update:

Try to get updates.
If it still does not work, try this...
- Start an elevated command prompt.
- Run the following commands pressing on enter after each line:
net stop wuauserv
CD %SystemRoot%\System32
Ren C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution SoftwareDistribution.old
net start wuauserv - Reset
- Try to reinstall updates
- Updates that are currently downloaded but which have not yet been installed must be downloaded again by using Windows Update or Microsoft Update.
- When you remove the Software Distribution folder, your download history is deleted.
- If you currently receive updates from Microsoft Update and Windows Update, you will need to reselect this option from the Windows Update Web site.
- Start an elevated command prompt.
- Run the following commands pressing on enter after each line:
regsvr32 Jscript.dll
regsvr32 c:\windows\system32\wuapi.dll
regsvr32 c:\windows\system32\wuaueng.dll -
Hello!
Update for Windows Vista x 64 to Windows 7 x 64 caused the following errors:
By clicking on the "Edit" button in "Programs and features" with Office 2007 trial selected gives an error "Setup error".Setup could not find all of the products available for installation. Please contact your systm administrator. "in Windows 7 x 64. Run the installation of Office 2007 trial version downloaded the file to change the components OK works.
How to operate the button "Edit"?
Windows Update suggests to install 125KO Office 2007 SP1 repeatedly. I agree to install each time, updates installs "successfully", but suggest Windows Update to install next time. It started to happen after uninstallation and reinstallation of Office 2007.
Kind regards
Dima125 KB is obviously not a ServicePack because this would be much MB in size, you have a number of KB (knowledge base) to go with the annoying update?

If so, restart it by checking both boxes and restart to allow him to attempt to fix any problems found.
As for the "Changes" problem that I have no real solution for this, only that you remove every bit of desktop of your machine and everything don't reinstall desktop applications you need. It could be a corrupted registry which is behind this problem.
* Important * When you do this, the following problems occur:
* Note * if the problem is resolved and you can successfully download and install the updates, you can delete the directory SoftwareDistribution.old to recover disk space.
