Red notification icon

I have the iMessage app on my dock.  However, it is a number in a red circle on the right side of the iMessage icon.  I have no new messages, read them all.  How can I remove this red circle.  Thank you for your help.

Quit the application.  Drag it off the Dock or control click > delete.

Drag a new icon of the application.

Each time a random strange behavior or slow creeps, the first thing to do is a battery pop reboot. With power ON, remove the hood back and remove the battery. Wait a minute, then replace the battery and cover. Power on and wait patiently through the long reboot - about 5 minutes. See if things return to functioning. Like all computing devices, BB suffers from memory leaks and others... with a hard reboot is the best remedy.

    Hello

    ·        Since when are you facing this problem?

    ·        Remember to make changes to the system?

I suggest you update your BIOS, check with the manufacturer of the system for further assistance.

Apart from that, I suggest you do an online virus and malware scan on the system.

If the problem started occurring recently, then I suggest you to do a system restore. See the article mentioned below.

  • Text on Notification icons disappears after a while

As soon as I re - start my PC, if I fly over the pointer in the bottom right Notification icons, their text indicates. After a time, the text appears, only to appear again if I re - start.

Although this isn't the biggest global problem, I would be happy to get an answer in case it is the symptom of something else.

    Thank you

    David

Oh sorry, just checked, have you tried:

taskbar > right click > properties > notification area > customize?

Is there something that says «restore system icons»

  • "Customize Notification icons" is grayed out

I followed the article 'the power in the taskbar icon is missing' and I got to the next step (which occurs many times in the article):

Right-click on the clock and choose "Customize Notification icons".
Unfortunately, while I can see "Customize Notification icons" it is grayed out. I tried to find a solution to this issue, which may or may not be related to my grayed out original issue of power, but he does not seem to have been mentioned previously.
    Thank you

    Hi again Bill

Well, as things turned out I answered my own question. I still don't know what caused event the «Customize Notification icons...» "to become grayed out, but now I know what you have to do for that one item available again. Then...
    Either:
    Right-click on the clock
    Left click on "Properties".
    Or:
Right click on the button to start Windows
    Left click on "Properties".
Select (left-click) the "Notification area" tab
In any event, you should meet at the same point in the "Taskbar and Start Menu Properties" applet.
The upper part of this tab is labeled "Icons" and has a checkbox "Hide inactive icons" and a button 'customize '. [Either by the way, this "Customize" button launches the applet same slot by clicking "Customize Notification icons...] "] If this check box is disabled, the"Customize"button and the menu item"Customize Notification icons... "are both greyed out; Similarly checking the box allows both. Which seems to actually reverse a little bit for me, but what the heck.
In any case, I put the selector and click 'Apply' and, hey presto, the menu item is available.
Now that I can get the applet under 'Customize', I'm amazed to see just how old 'last' are included. Hmmm; time for some household I think.
    Thanks again
    David
  • Notification icons

The notification icon 'battery' in my laptop (Macbook Pro Vista) suddenly disappeared and I can't find a way through which I can restore. It is not even in the function "Customize notification icons... ». This coincided with the discovery that the battery has been when I started up - this despite its being fully charged to the previous closed. So far, I had no problem using Vista in Macbook Pro.

    Hello Paul,

Activate the system via Local Group Policy Editor icons

    1. Run GPedit.msc to start local Group Policy Editor.
    2. Expand the tree and access Configuration user-> templates-> Start Menu and taskbar to administration.
    3. Change the status value the value to Disable or not configured for the following group policies allow the display or the display of the icon in the notification area. Clock: Remove clock from the system notification area
Volume: Remove the volume control icon
      Network: Remove the network icon
Power (battery) icon: remove the battery meter
    4. Close the local Group Policy Editor.
    5. Restart Explorer, Log off and log back or restart the computer for the changes to take effect.

If the step above does not work, then I have another option below in the form of an article that also offers a fix for this problem. System icons do not appear in the tray on a Windows Vista-based computer, you must restart the computer http://support.microsoft.com/kb/940267.

  • Network notification icon has stopped working

Network notification icon no longer changes when the connection has been established.

    Hi Rob

Sorry about the lack of response in these few days, but I had a bad cold.  However, there are some good news to report.  I don't have the chance to try the suggestions you made, but this morning I received an update from my security software Norton 360 and after installing this update and run some scans (including cleaning registry) in order to ensure that all seemed to agree, my network notification icon now works again!

If the problem has been solved somehow, and I may never know the real cause.  I hope I never have to try to find out again!

Many thanks for your help anyway.

  • Missing notification icon for wireless keyboard and mouse in the systray area.

Missing notification icon for wireless keyboard and mouse in the systray area. Was working before the hard disk crash. Had to reload Windows Vista 64 bit OS. Have computer model gateway GT5678.

Chances are good the software to include these icons in notification tray cam pre-installed on the bridge.  If you still all original gateway software, try to see if something in the menu start / all programs of the gateway seems as it can contain controls for these settings and run the program to check and see if it does.  If none of the gateway software help (assuming that all this is still installed) and re-installing the drivers did not work and there is no controls at the keyboard or the mouse, so I know what else to think.  These icons are not available with Vista - they were installed by a third-party device or software driver.

I'm sorry that gateway could not help you.  They are those that you need to do to solve this problem, because it is something that they installed with the original computer which is not re-installled after you change hard drives.  They should know what software for it and power point yoo to a download site, or you send a disk with this software.  We can't really do anything else to help you.

    Good luck!

  • Windows 7 notification icons are blury

The small icons in my taskbar are blurred and it's really irritating me. I had this problem on my computer windows 8 but after I restarted, it was back to normal. I tried to restart on this computer, but nothing has changed. I have also looked through the settings but couldn't find anything. I was wondering if someone could solve my problem. Thank you

    Hello

Thanks for posting your query on the Microsoft Community.

If I understand correctly, the text and icons are blurred on the taskbar.

This problem may occur because of driver problems.

I would like to know a few things before you proceed.

1 is this specific problem for notification icons?

Check the resolution and the graphics driver is in the correct order.

    Method 1:

Try to update the graphics card drivers and check if it works.
Follow the steps to update the graphics driver:

    a. press the Windows key + X key, and click on Device Manager.
    b. search for graphics cards.
    c. right-click on the graphics card and click Update driver software.

To update the graphics drivers and check if it helps.

    Method 2:

Install windows update manually and check if it helps.
    Follow the link below

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/install-Windows-updates

    Method 3:

I suggest you to change the theme and check if the problem persists.

    1. Right-click on an empty space on the desktop and click on personalize.
    2. Click one of the available themes.
    3. Click Save

I suggest to visit the computer manufacturer's website and install the latest display drivers and check if that helps.

    It will be useful.

For other post help back, we will be happy to help you.
