  On my laptop when there are available windows updates and then in the box notification blue windows update icon appears, download updates and tell me if I have to restart my computer. My father has a new office, also windows 7, and instead of this icon, the indicator for the Action Center pops up and says there are windows updates. How to do his job the same as mine?   Make sure you check the settings in the center of the action and the Notification area settings.  Display icons in the Notification area of change  Also will show a number of icons in the notification area.  It is possible that when updates are available, the Windows Update icon is active, but just not visible.  When you receive an alert Action Center, click the triangle to the left of the notification area button and see if the Windows Update icon is there.  If this is the case, click on, and then drag it to the visible area.

• Windows 7 notification icons are blury

  The small icons in my taskbar are blurred and it's really irritating me. I had this problem on my computer windows 8 but after I restarted, it was back to normal. I tried to restart on this computer, but nothing has changed. I have also looked through the settings but couldn't find anything. I was wondering if someone could solve my problem. Thank you

  This problem may occur because of driver problems.

  I would like to know a few things before you proceed.

  1 is this specific problem for notification icons?

  Check the resolution and the graphics driver is in the correct order.

  Method 1:

  Try to update the graphics card drivers and check if it works.
  Follow the steps to update the graphics driver:

  a. press the Windows key + X key, and click on Device Manager.
  b. search for graphics cards.
  c. right-click on the graphics card and click Update driver software.

• Windows XP volume icon is missing "volume control program has not been system."

  I can't activate the Volume icon by doing this it says in part: "volume control program has not been installed.    There is no way to install programs to add and I don't have a XP installation CD.  Apparently the following file is missing: Sndvol32.exe

• Repeated installation of Windows Vista SP1 in Windows Update and fake notification of successful Installation.

  I was using Windows Vista Home Basic 32 bit OS in my Dell Inspiron 1501. The operating system is preinstalled and Windows Update updated to SP2. But recently an unknown problem has occurred and my laptop cannot connect to the internet. As no reason was found, experts have advised the reinstallation of Windows Vista. I reinstalled Vista by running the operating system provided by Dell with my laptop DVD. The laptop started to connect to the internet normally.

  I started to receive an update to Windows Vista SP1. I installed it. Installation has suddenly didn't have that about five minutes and the computer also has not restarted several times on its own as expected.   I had the same problem and it really irritated me. Even when you install SP1, and he says there are successful (takes like 1 sec inst) and you click on updates search is there once again.   You have downloaded already manually updated, registeredand then tried to install it or you choose run rather then save it?

  Once the download is complete, configure XP to start in the start state in minimum mode, then unplug the computer of internet connection, it is for now and restart.
  How to configure Windows XP to start in a clean boot state

  After the reboot to clean boot state, run KB2419632 (WindowsXP-KB2419632 - x 86 - ENU.exe).
  Restart the system for same clean boot state.
  Then Undo the Clean boot steps and restart in normal Windows mode.
  You can reconnect the computer to the network/internet connection now.

• Battery not detected after Windows update

  I own a HP Pavilion G series laptop and I have windows running on it 8.1. Windows just made me finish an update, after which it is not detecing my battery more. Initially, he says: "trendy but no charging current. That's why I shut down the computer, removed the battery and plugged in. Now, he said only: "no battery is detected.

  The updated patch is maybe not able to detect "non standard" battery you are using.

  You could try to use a Restore Point and affecting the system to a date before the update was installed.  In this way, the offending update will be deleted from your computer.

  Using Microsoft System Restore (Windows 8)

  Contrary to belief, you have a choice on the installation of the updates.   Windows cannot make you install updates on your computer.

  You can set Windows updates notification, so you can decide what updates are valid for your situation.  Many people choose this course as one that fits, even if it forces you to do a little more work.

  If you set the Windows updates to be notified

  • and you always create a Restore Point before you choose to install updates
  • and ONLY install you the important updates (never optional updates)
  • and you've read about the updates that you have any concerns at all
  • then, you may find that you have less long-term problems

  Office 2003 sp3 do not install in windows update. It is a 108.2 MB file, no kb #. Under 2 other 2003 office updates. KB977713 for office outlook and for office 2003 update kb907417. 57F error message comes out after having failed in windows update. Sku011.cab missing error comes just after process fails at the end of the attempt to update for the updated 2003 3 office. Tool kb890830 in windows update to install malicious but indicates successful when finished. Returns to windows update to install. All other above mentioned updates show missed.

  I've updated to my machine using windows update I get daily updates of windows defender from microsoft, which I'm updating regularly basically according to me, they are definition updates yesterday, I also got an update of the same thing that was about 860 KB, every day I get this kind of update and it hardly takes a minute or two to have downloaded and updated,.

  But yesterday, I clicked on install the update and it has not download at all, I waited for 15 minutes but it didn't download atlast I had to click on stop/cancel download after clicking on hung windows update screen and does not close, I tried to close it using the Task Manager, but it was hopeless or which are listed , atlast I had to close all my apps running and giving alt + f4 close my machine and again rebooted, it again try to open windows update, an icon appears in the taskbar, but it does not open.

  Need help please, I contacted hp online technician assistant support, they gave me a link to microsoft and tells me to install windows update convenience store and run it, I did the sameand lets turn it ran for about 7 hours, but nothing happened after that I have to cancel and close my laptop.

  I understand that you are having problems after that a Windows Update could not be installed correctly. I recommend that you use the Windows System Restore feature and restore your system to a point in time before that you did the update that caused the problem.
