Redirect with e4200 and 660 embarq modem port

Hello, I have a router e4200 and a modem 660 series, I am trying to portforward for a game called minecraft, I can't get ports open, I called century link they told me to put my modem in Bridge mode, so I have, they said, must be public, my private IP not now, it is still private, what I am doing wrong.

Very well. Great! Now follow these steps and see what happens.

http://www6.nohold.NET/Cisco2/UKP.aspx?pid=93&login=1&VW=1&app=search&articleid=17241&userrole=links...

In addition, under the tab 'security' on the router, uncheck the option, "filter anonymous Internet requests".

The tab of the router configuration. There is an option 'MTU '. Change it to manual and reduce the size to 1400.

See if that helps.

    Hello guys.

I will try to be as brief/clear I can. I've been struggling with this problem for a few months now, and yet, I couldn't find a solution and more I tried everything (or at least, that's what I think).

    Scenario of: *

    B < li > SERVER with LISTENER_SCAN1
    < Li > SERVER A with LISTENER_SCAN2 and LISTENER_SCAN3

What I want to do? *:

Connect to the SINGLETON service using a SHARED and of course server using the cluster name (SCAN).

    What is the result? *:

< Li > IF I use the name of the cluster (cluster.domaine.com) some time, the connection works, sometimes fails.
< Li > IF I use the LISTENER_SCAN running on the server running the service SINGLETON (B), connection is successful.
< Li > IF I use the LISTENER_SCAN running on the OTHER (A) server, the connection fails.

I just noticed I have not updated in this topic. I'm really sorry.
    The problem is finally solved!

It's a major problem within the company, but the thing is, we have different environments with different configurations and teams taking care of so many miss communication that's happened.

Basically, Prod and Cert have Firewall with open ports (that's the dispatchers/dispatchers and so). I asked team on the network firewall that we have and they say that we had no restrictions I stop just a matter "firewall." That as my mistake.

Not to mention that we have not all restrictions on the firewall, we have, there are certain characteristics which, after a long period of investigation at the networking level (using Wireshark to read the packets and see the results of the redirection, among other things), we could see that some thing in the middle was ruin it.

That was, "SQLNet Packet Inspection" enabled by default! I had to disable it and everything started working after that.

Of course, Oracle Support did not help AT ALL which is really bad, because we spend a lot of money on support. I told her about the firewall at the end and they say 'contact your network management team' rather than provide an any clue on this question.

Anyway, thanks a LOT Levi for your dedication to my problem.

    Thank you for the Uruguay.

  • Problems with ping and 56 k modem about half current speed.

    I have a few questions.

    I've switched & my internal modem says it's 56 k. I know that I won't get a full 56 k, but I'm only running at about 26 k. Why what can I do about it?

Additionally, every time that I ping ALL websight, it always comes back with: request timed out, 0 packets received, 4 lost packets, 4 packets sent, 100% loss. I can't understand it and I hope someone can explain to me why and how to fix it. I'm NOT "computer illiterate"!

    Help, please!  Thank you

    Here's what I'm running:

System: Intel (r) Pentium (r) D CPU 3.00 GHz 2.99 GHz (dual processor);   1.00 GB of RAM, 32-bit operating system.   223 GB int hard drive. & 298 GB ext HDD.

Operating system: Windows Vista Ultimate sp2

Browsers: ie9 and mozilla firefox 4

Modem: PCI Soft Data Fax Modem with SmartCP

    Hi desandjol,

    1. are you able to ping the loopback adapter (that is to say-ping 127.0.0.1)?

You must contact the ISP to find out why you can't ping websites.

You can also check with the manufacturer of the modem if no firmware update is available. It is available even download and check.

    Hope this information is useful.

Ports sfp + 10 GB Intel x 520 with (2) and (2), gig ethernet ports

Which resembles the daughterboard X 520/I350 network. You have only a NDC slot in the system, only one of those can take place. I do not show a similar adapter PCIe version.

If you have 2 PCIe 3 slot CPU configuration while you might add just another X 520 dual port. If you have a PCIe 2 connector configuration so I am not all ports that you are wanting to get a valid population.

  • E4200 and Wireless N and coexist with Wireless G

Looking for suggestions for wireless G coexist with Wireless N on e4200.

I have a wireless G Router for VERIZON FIOS ActionTec network.  I just added the E4200 router wireless n.  I have the latest firmware, 1.0.03.  Hardware version 1.

We get a few laptops for vacation and would like these to be able to use Wireless-N.  I liked phone/itouch/roku device using the ActionTec router Wireless G/B.  I would keep the router ActionTec Wireless-G/b, so that 2.4 and 5.0 ghz Wireless N only.

I have two routers configured so that ActionTec is primary with DHCP and the e4200 is secondary, the installer mode bridge, with DHCP off and static ip 192.168.1.2.   This used as an indication-> http://www.dslreports.com/faq/verizonfios/3.0_Networking#12506

I have a SID for the ActionTec Wireless G network and it is set to channel 1

I have a different SID for e4200 N wireless network, even for 2.4 and 5.0 and I left the defaults on the other wireless settings.

Are there any other suggestions for the settings for these routers/networks coexist?

can't test the settings wireless n for another week.  and display the results.

    Update

so for the ActionTec FIOS router main making wireless G and e4200 as secondary in bridge making Wireless N mode seems to work...

so after a few changes that I currently use

-on Actiontec, main router, the value G WIRELESS channel 1 and SID-> g

-on e4200, secondary router, in bridged mode, value 2.4 GHZ WITHOUT WIRELESS N only, and channel 11 and 20 MHZ and SID-> WIRELESSN

-on e4200, secondary router, in bridged mode, value 5 GHz WIRELESS N only and autodetect AND SID-> WIRLESSN5GHZ

If all networks have different SIDS, do not roaming.

-seems new hp windows 7 laptop computers work FINE with 2.4 GHZ Wireless N, variety and very fast, but do not yet work with 5 GHz (bought on Black Friday 2011)

-seens old windows computer hp laptop xp works with 2.5 GHZ Wireless G, but doesn't seem to work properly with either 2.4 GHZ Wireless N or 5 GHZ Wireless-N

-seems new hp windows 7 everything in working GRAND with 2.4 GHZ Wireless N, variety and very fast

-seems to work bridge WES610N with 5 GHZ Wireless-N, even if only 48% signal, my Roku device works fine on the bridge, and connected laptop appears 20 000 low 4000 on FIOS

so I think that the wireless card of the customer in the old hp laptop was screwing the rest of the Wireless N network and not several devices still use 5 GHz.

  • Wireless router E4200 and share a printer on the subnet

    Hi all

Now I've been tinkering for 4 days trying to resolve a problem with this, but I couldn't understand it, so I'm hoping to find someone who can help.

My question is sharing a printer on my main network and the wireless,.

    the description of the parameter:

    I have my main network 10.1.1.0/24 (RV082)

I plugged the E4200 router in an IP 10.1.1.82 and the wireless network is 192.168.1.0/24

Set up a printer/scanner with an IP 192.168.1.72 to share on both networks.

Now everyone on the 192.168.1.0 network is able to access and print but none on 10.1.1.0

I put a static route on the RV082 to direct applications of the printer be redirect to 10.1.1.82 but without success.

The E4200 is configured by default out of the box, I had to just put the static IP address, gateway and DNS and, of course, the key to wireless security, nothing else.

the NAT is enabled on the E4200 and RIP is disabled, I tested the connection by disabling NAT and allowing the RIP, during which I was able to connect to the printer, but Internet went down for wireless users all (192.168.1.0 network)

So I need help to solve this problem please.

    1. I would recommend to connect the printer to the main network. He two subnets can access the printer regardless of the configuration on the E4200.

    2. If you want to only an extension of your existing network wireless, I would recommend using the bridge mode on the E4200. In this way, wired and wireless networks are in the same IP subnet and everything is much easier.

    3. with NAT on (default), the LAN is inaccessible from the side WAN. This is why your RV protects your local network from the internet. And that is why the printer is not accessible from the RV subnet unless you configure the port forwarding on the E4200.

    4. it is thus with active NAT, you must send the necessary ports for printing on the E4200 and you must configure computers on 10.1.1.0/24 to use 10.1.1.82 to print the wireless network uses 192.168.1.72.

    4. with disabled NAT, you must configure a static route on the RV to route 192.168.1.0/24 to 10.1.1.82.

    5. with disabled NAT wireless clients have no internet because the RV does not NAT the 192.168.1.0/24 subnet. The RV is that NAT because it is own LAN IP subnet 10.1.1.0/24 but not for 192.168.1.0/24. This means that the RV will forward packets 192.168.1. * unmodified in the internet where they are rejected. You must configure the RV to NAT for example 192.168.1.0/24. You must apply to the Cisco Small Business community, whether or not this is supported on the RV.

So in summary, I recommend to use Bridge on the E4200 mode and function as a single IP subnet. That would solve all your problems.

  • TECRA S1 Modem Port in use

    Hello

I have a Tecra S1 with WIFI and built into the Toshiba Bluetooth module.

I can't use my modem after you install the bluetooth module. The bluetooth module works very well, and I can communicate with bluetooth devices. It seems to use "virtual" com ports to communicate with bluetooth devices. He created virtual comm 255 com com ports 5 (I think).

But, the modem no longer works. When I go into the properties page for the modem (which reported no problem) I can't question the modem - it says that the com port (com 3) is in use by another application - even if I re - assign the modem to a different port, I get the same error message. I am running XP Pro SP 2.

I'd like to be able to solve this problem. I had this problem for about 6 months. Apart from that, my laptop works really well and I'm really happy with it.

Has anyone else seen this problem and fixed it? I would be very happy for any help. I hope I don't have to re - install everything that, as my laptop is a development computer (ram of 1 GB!) with Visual Studio 2003 is installed, SQL server, Dreamweaver etc... It will take a week for all installed again!

But I have a new (empty) 80 GB hard drive, so I could build a fresh install of XP Pro on the new drive for a test... Any help VERY welcome!

    Hi Mark

In my opinion the first step you should try is to remove the modem from Device Manager, then restart the device. After that, the modem must be recognized again and installed correctly. Also remove your dial-up connection and set it up again.

It's great that you have another HARD disk. You can do some experiments and try to find out what may be the problem.

  • Problem with Vista and XP computers Internet connection sharing.

I have a host computer running Windows XP service pack 3, with an of Virgin Mobile Broadband2Go modem and a laptop computer with Vista. The host computer is connected to a Microsoft MN - 700 via a CAT5 network cable. The laptop is connected via a wireless connection. I'm sharing the Broadband2Go internet connection by using Internet connection sharing. I enabled sharing on the network, on the host computer connection. But the laptop does not connect to the internet. I can ping the host of the laptop, but cannot ping the laptop computer from the host. I have tried everything I can think of, to get the job of network. He worked, until Thursday. Thursday, there is some automatic updates installed on the host computer. They have been updated for security. I don't know if updates of security would have affected the network or not. All helkp would be appreciated.

    Thank you

    Oscar

It is a facility that is complicated, because the host computer and the MN-700 can act as routers and DHCP servers, making it uncertain given the laptop its TCP/IP configuration.  Here are two ways to make it work:

    • Use the MN-700 as a router: connect the host computer to the "Modem" port of the MN-700.  To do this, interface LAN of the MN - 700 must have an IP address in a different subnet from the 192.168.0.x subnet that uses ICS.  The laptop will be able to ping on the host, but the host will not be able to ping from the laptop.

    or:

    • Use the MN-700 as a point of access only, not as a router: connect to the host computer to one of the MN-700 Ethernet ports and disable the DHCP server integrated of the MN-700.  Both computers should be able to ping each other.

  • Problems with static IP setting for the port forward through 2 routers

I currently have cable internet connected to a router (Linksys E2000 w / v1.0.03 firmware). This router is connected to another router, a Linksys E3200 with firmware v1.0.02. In order to correctly forward ports through the E3200, I understand that I need to set up a static IP address on the router.

I almost followed the steps in this video, but when I enter all the IP addresses for the static IP address settings, it allows me to access the router configuration page. I try to get the new IP address that I gave (which he tries to move automatically once I have save settings) and the connection times out. I am able to access internet otherwise, however. From here, I have to do a factory reset on the router and start from square one.

Anyone have any ideas? I'm quite frustrated and would like to get ports forwarded so I can get my server properly set in place.

    1. If it has connected LAN - LAN you will need to disable the DHCP server on the E3200.

    2. the best option would be to use the 'bridge' on the E3200 mode (in the latest firmware) and connect the internet port to the main router.

    3. If connected LAN - LAN (or in Bridge mode) all internet related functions on the E3200, including ports are not relevant. There is no need to set up the port on the E3200 redirects. All shipping is done only on the E2000 and nowhere else.

    4. What is the address LAN IP of the E3200? What is the address LAN IP of the E2000?
