  Hi all

  Is there something that can be done to get control of the Alienware Aurora fans if Council MIO died? I have tried rivatuner and fan speed, but two of them seems don't work...

  I did clean re install Win7 disk resource and of course my MIO Board brick... no luck I didn't question with jury of MIO--> re installation of the system before...

  FX does not work, readings of thermal controller are disabled. I tried everything I could find on this forum. Light of Council MIO is on, but can not be installed. In the hardware Manager, I had this thing 'unknown device '... I gave up just really trying to repair it... now I want to just be quite - since I reinstalled computer system is terribly strong.

• Aurora - Council MIO in brick?

  Recently did a BIOS update to A11, and DELL-Chris M could talk me through a few problems of memory, stick, thanks.  Shortly after my only installed HARD drive died.  Upgrading to an SSD and an additional memory while I was home.  Fresh installation of Windows 7, following an order of drivers I found out Alienware Arena forum I think.  Hadn't gotten deep into Tesla1856 positions again, stupid me.

  Problem - at one point that my MIO card seems to have stopped working.  After reading many, many jobs Tesla1856 (very useful, thanks for all the efforts you have put in) I think I might have bricked it by installing the command center off my disk resource (to February 2010) and then upgrade to the current CC 2.8.9.  Probably should have shocked the MIO before the new installation of W7, but had not yet seen the advice of Tesla.

  Current state of computer - well boots, fan works very hard all the time.  CC opens but all time and fan speed see the zero.  I tried the power resets and the withdrawal and replacement of the MIO USB connector.  MIO has an orange light, but he died immediately after stopping, I remember holding the light for a while when I was doing all the memory, bios troubleshooting.   BIOS seems to be unable to locate the MIO card.

  Tried using the 32-bit diagnostics Alienware my resource drive, but he does not see MIO or lights or anything either.

  1 - use the 32 bit my correct resource drive diagnostics?  I don't think that I have a partition more since I did a clean install on new hard drive.

  2 - the only 'unknown' device in my device manager is a USB of something.  I only have my monitor, keyboard, and mouse connected, I suspect that the unknown is the jury MIO on USB1.  its okay?  And only CC provides drivers so if uninstalling/reinstalling CC does not do the trick, no luck?

  3 - I tried the troubleshooting that I could find in favorites of Tesla185h, at least what I understood and could have access to all.   removal and replacement of the USB of the MIO card are "reset"?

  4 - my main question is, making another fees would install Windows 7 and this time having the unplugged MIO and goes directly to the last CC rather than to install one off my original disc of resources likely to help?  or I'm probably looking for a jury of bricks MIO?

  5 - Finally, resembles a MIO Board is ~ $100 new dell or $30 used from various online sources, anyone have experience?

  After almost bricking my motherboard do the update of the bios, find 2 bad slots for memory cards (using 4 now vice 6), with a matrix of hard drive completely, all within ten days; I'm a little wary to enter for yet another party, there again, not sure I want to go through the hassle of reinstalling the MIO card to have an opportunity an of again soon.

  And frankly, I think I'm ready to spend $30 or 100 just to avoid having to do a fresh install of Windows.  I think that there are 250 or so various updates between W7, office, etc.

  At least my computer works now starts, Bios A11 works; but with fans all running all the time, is not a long-term solution, of course.

  I'm really trying to understand if there is no operation troubleshooting more to do before ordering a replacement MIO card.

  0 - this is bad. It should work.

  1 - Yes, but the download-able version may be newer

  2. it's bad (I think the MIOs bricks look this way)

  3. No, do not reset. It prevents Windows to do it's hardware initial detection on this subject.

  4 - if detected in diagnostic (outside of Windows) equipment, sometimes the second Clean-Install work correctly. Weird, but true.

  5 - parts are always a gamble. Vendors claim that everything works fine. Sometimes Yes, sometimes no.

  6 - another bet on this system. I would have stayed on the A09.

  Hey everyone I would like update my graphics card for a 950 witch, my father had this befor and he called for you guys to see if we can upgrade the card on it and your tech said yes sp it is possible with a power brick and a limit on the card is a NVIDIA GTX 950 and I would like to know if I can get one that has 4 GB and if I can get the power to brick it cuz they say we can, but as what we found the site only has up to 330 watts not around 400 or more this card must run the sys and the card please help

• (Redirected) AlienWare X 51 R2 - perhaps a power failure?

  So I got my AlienWare X 51 R2 for 1 year and about 20 days. I came home 2 days ago to find it was off, but there was a very low light on my power button, no other lights. I tried to turn on and the computer (Yes, fan and light included) enabled for everything as long as it took for me to release the power button. I've tried everything. I don't know yet if it is the right place to post this but I hope. I tried my surge protector to jump and goes directly into my outlet, using another outlet in another room, unplugging everything and hold the power button to get rid of all of rest, power everything. My adapter, I call it a brick, has its power switch on, but my computer has only the power dim light. The light at the back which lights up blue, if it has power only when I turn it on for a split second when I try to turn it on. My computer has a virus and has been completely analyzed nightly at 02:00 by Microsoft Security Essentials. I played games like Guild Wars 2, World of Warcraft, StarCraft 2, and ArcheAge. ArcheAge was the last and only game I played for about 2 months before he died. The computer was great, never overheated and ran easily all my games without problem. I am at a total loss. It was also no lightning because we did not have any all week. All possible suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

  Hello, good day, my 2 years old Alienware 14 original charger has died, it just was pop - ed game, then I've went ahead and bought another 19 veritable.5v 7.7 has charger, 10 minutes of play the charger off, then my game loses fps and it ran on battery mode, I could not pass on the charger so I unplugged it 30 minutes later I plugged it and the charger came somehow return alive and 10 minutes in the game he has exploded, this time my scent throughout the room as chit and that's $60...

  Just earlier today, I visited my local computer shop once again, bought an another 19.5V 7.7 a charger, this time I spend $40 for a compatible, the charger has a Dell logo on it and it is like twice the size and it itself after 5 minutes the game, I've learned that it's a kind of blocking thermal thingy over overheating. An hour later I can use the adapter again, this time I feel it will jump once again, I thought that the battery could be the culprit and move forward to remove the battery from the laptop and run the laptop without the battery, he was running well, up to 8 minutes of play he exploded again LOL...

  What happens , the smell after the charger has gone... I think it is overheating, must be computer prints laptop too much power and the adapter could not outfits. I will not lose my money, get another, I know same thing going to happen, everyone had this experience? I removed the first magazine cover and found that a small resistor fried.

  Feels as if it was the end, if you ask me, what else could have went wrong. It is not the battery, I think it's the motherboard...

• (Redirected) Alienware m17x will beep once after respawn, start Windows and restarts

  Hi guys

  Thought it was time for a cleaning on a so used the feature of respawn to return the unit to the factory settings. BUT eventually, the device starts, starts to load Windows beeps once and then restarts. It is a continuous process... any ideas? I tried the same process, using the recovery disks created on delivery... with the same results...

  OK, so I bought an Alienware x 51 back in 2013 with these specs:

  I7 3770 3.4 Ghz
  GTX 660
  16 GB ram ddr3
  1 TB of HDD (917 GB actual)
  Optical drive (don't know much talk of it)
  Mobo: Manufacturer: Alienware, product: 06G6JW, Version: A01

  Here's the plan:
  I decided to take the elements and moving them to a new case, give em a new PSU, possibly upgrading of the gpu. Then (later on the road), when I have enough dough bad replace the components outside the case itself. In addition, my current budget for this upgrade/transplant is about 300 ca $

  The parts I have in mind: (Note: I am in the Canada, and I'm a newb to pc hardware )

  Questions:
  1. What are good choices? I love the case, but I'm not sure of the quality of the PSU. Think about the other items were mostly positive.
  2 - What is the highest level of the GPU that would work with this Mobo is worth getting?
  3. are there major problems with this plan?
  4. I think adding a second hard drive or ssd, I can do this at a later date, but what would you recommend? (<>

  Hey, I thought that I wiped my computer yesterday and I let sit all night and when I woke up it was 97% when I went for breakfast, he was sitting on the first pop up screen when you start your computer with the sign of alienware and a loading animation. Its been sitting all day and it hasn't moved on again, any ideas on what might happen or what I could do to fix it?

• (Redirected) Alienware warranty new don't drive no tech no parts

  Our Alienware X 51 is under warranty. We have received a message that the hard drive was not, and fill out this form and the hard drive would be sent to me. We did it and he said no charge. Then I was charged more than $200. I called tech support and they said that I would have not ordered the hard drive, they had to do it for me. Then an hour later, they said the parts would be sent to a technician and intervenes next business day repair. It should be Tuesday or Wednesday. No one has contacted me to set up the appointment, so after searching the Internet, I found that repair has been delayed. Still, I contacted customer service and they said they did not know when, maybe tomorrow, maybe not, that a tech would have the parts. Technology can't get the parts, but Dell me past the night the new hard drive, I ordered by mistake? Dell support person could not tell me who was my tech or they came. No info whatsoever. Hard to not understand, no knowledge of how to help me. I feel like Im going to have a stroke of frustration. I have an Alienware, two laptops from Dell, a computer Dell desktop and both Dell sites currently. Forget all the others, that we had in the past.  Where is the love for a faithful consumer of Dell who has spent thousands and thousands of dollars? Alienware has no e-mail supports, just people who speak broken English. I can not call again. I just can't take more.

  Can you damage your system, especially the motherboard and the capacitors power if you let this computer on too long? Reference Dell told me, but I have a lot of doubts? Supposedly, I have damaged my motherboard in doing so.
