Aurora - Council MIO in brick?

Recently did a BIOS update to A11, and DELL-Chris M could talk me through a few problems of memory, stick, thanks.  Shortly after my only installed HARD drive died.  Upgrading to an SSD and an additional memory while I was home.  Fresh installation of Windows 7, following an order of drivers I found out Alienware Arena forum I think.  Hadn't gotten deep into Tesla1856 positions again, stupid me.

Problem - at one point that my MIO card seems to have stopped working.  After reading many, many jobs Tesla1856 (very useful, thanks for all the efforts you have put in) I think I might have bricked it by installing the command center off my disk resource (to February 2010) and then upgrade to the current CC 2.8.9.  Probably should have shocked the MIO before the new installation of W7, but had not yet seen the advice of Tesla.

Current state of computer - well boots, fan works very hard all the time.  CC opens but all time and fan speed see the zero.  I tried the power resets and the withdrawal and replacement of the MIO USB connector.  MIO has an orange light, but he died immediately after stopping, I remember holding the light for a while when I was doing all the memory, bios troubleshooting.   BIOS seems to be unable to locate the MIO card.

Tried using the 32-bit diagnostics Alienware my resource drive, but he does not see MIO or lights or anything either.

1 - use the 32 bit my correct resource drive diagnostics?  I don't think that I have a partition more since I did a clean install on new hard drive.

2 - the only 'unknown' device in my device manager is a USB of something.  I only have my monitor, keyboard, and mouse connected, I suspect that the unknown is the jury MIO on USB1.  its okay?  And only CC provides drivers so if uninstalling/reinstalling CC does not do the trick, no luck?

3 - I tried the troubleshooting that I could find in favorites of Tesla185h, at least what I understood and could have access to all.   removal and replacement of the USB of the MIO card are "reset"?

4 - my main question is, making another fees would install Windows 7 and this time having the unplugged MIO and goes directly to the last CC rather than to install one off my original disc of resources likely to help?  or I'm probably looking for a jury of bricks MIO?

5 - Finally, resembles a MIO Board is ~ $100 new dell or $30 used from various online sources, anyone have experience?

After almost bricking my motherboard do the update of the bios, find 2 bad slots for memory cards (using 4 now vice 6), with a matrix of hard drive completely, all within ten days; I'm a little wary to enter for yet another party, there again, not sure I want to go through the hassle of reinstalling the MIO card to have an opportunity an of again soon.

And frankly, I think I'm ready to spend $30 or 100 just to avoid having to do a fresh install of Windows.  I think that there are 250 or so various updates between W7, office, etc.

At least my computer works now starts, Bios A11 works; but with fans all running all the time, is not a long-term solution, of course.

I'm really trying to understand if there is no operation troubleshooting more to do before ordering a replacement MIO card.

Thank you for advice or assistance.

You have an Aurora aka Aurora R1 (x 58 chipset)

0 - this is bad. It should work.

http://en.community.Dell.com/Owners-Club/Alienware/f/3746/t/19454040.aspx

1 - Yes, but the download-able version may be newer

2. it's bad (I think the MIOs bricks look this way)

3. No, do not reset. It prevents Windows to do it's hardware initial detection on this subject.

4 - if detected in diagnostic (outside of Windows) equipment, sometimes the second Clean-Install work correctly. Weird, but true.

5 - parts are always a gamble. Vendors claim that everything works fine. Sometimes Yes, sometimes no.

6 - another bet on this system. I would have stayed on the A09.

  • Alienware Aurora R4 MIO ALX Board question

Hello everyone, I know that this subject and I am about to talk about problem has been discussed over and over again, but I have no where else to turn and do not know how to solve a problem, I have so I'll simplify as much as possible. So basically, I had a case of Aurora ALX of R4 and modified with the motherboard and custom components. I have done all the research before hand and found that particular mother that I would work with the alienware command center and mio Board. I ordered the case and motherboard off ebay I got someone who did the case and all the wires for a living it all for me. I got the case and after a few months rose money to put everything. I finished installing all the operating system (Windows 7 Home premium) all the drivers for the motherboard, my graphics card and set to update everything, including windows. The only problem I encounter is that fans are running high, I can't control the lights, or install Command Center, and the MIO Board is not displayed in my device manager its listed as an unknown device.  Here are the things that I've done so far to resolve the MIO Board.

1 turn off the computer and removed the power cord then the power button which took place a minute with the power cord removed and plugged the power cord and back on my PC, then checked the Device Manager it says its installed driver software but its still listed as unknown.

    2. installed and reinstalled the command center twice, but doesn't not work or do anything, since the jury is not recognized, the software can't find it.

3 opportunity Alienware software 32 bit Diagnostics to run the hardware test to see if the Board of Directors in the list it does not work.

    4. install a driver for Asus thermal control that I thought would fix a thermal error that appears in the command center, but did not.

    5. Finally, tried to change the usb cable that connects to the motherboard MIO Board via a header different usb then made power dissapation thing as described above and still no luck.

So I'm a bit of ideas right now, I can't say if Miss me just one type of software/driver or if I need more recent or not. The Council is still fresh and is not bricked I know, due to the fact that the two lights on the MIO card are still on a bright blue LED one and LED light orange so. Also, when I unplugged the usb cable of the MIO card to the motherboard, fans are silent and all lights work but when I plug it in again and then fans are on max and the lights are out. Any advice/Input would be greatly appreciated.

    ASUS Nvidia Geforce GtX 950

    16 GB Corsair Ram revenge

you posted in lastnight here 22:00, but I have not my notify til today. Bravo, you seem to have picked a winner & get your lights.

When you have purchased your case & decided to install Windows on a hard disk, this 1st time you booted up, your lights should have at the same time you see your Bios screen & ejected from your dvd tray. Note There are no windows or drivers, just a simple interaction between your gross motherboard bios & mio Board. If I was to eject all my hard drives & turn on my pc, my lights will be lit, my mio Board 'works' without a hard drive. It is hard to say why your last Board was not, however the new works, let's get some software installed for it.

When you started in 7, you might have kept an eye out in your bar to look for the driver past to install, possibly got a desktop "device driver installation" dialog box or similar, as your way of knowing. Since there is no clear indication in your device manager, you can select USB (& peripheral next HID), Action > search the hardware changes, see what he does.

Whatever it is, it was me, I would then try to install CC 2.8.9; If the installation fails (error platform), copy / save your temporary files in the temp folder, it created, that you did the last time. When a CC install fails, Council MIO get flashed with the firmware, so spend 2.7 CC, see what happens.

How should OK, I put it.

Steps back one, pretend that I did not install 2.8.9. If your curiosity is not satisfied on the windows driver, you can disconnect mio usb, power up / power off, reconnect it shows your systray icon & driver dialog box to see if windows install this driver mio; It will take place without connection, next time he "sees", it it will reinstall the driver, which is the raison d'etre. From there, try installing 2.8.9. Consider this an optional step, if when, earlier you scanned for changes on the usb/hid equipment & 'nothing. '

What I will say is just me speaking aloud. I noticed that you do not want to move to a CC under 2.6. However, if a version 2.5 recommended by Justin is what you end up with, but you do not want to go back so far (I suppose that you fear a brick flashing firmware), you can try this:

    • put power off, disconnect mio usb, turn on
    • install CC 2.5 hard disk, do not restart, shut down.
    • Reconnect mio usb, power up.
    • Look at your systray icon / installation of the Office driver mio dialog box.
    • launch CmndCntr 2.5, see if it 'works', lights change color, fans have cruise control manual etc.

It is a workaround, you have installed CmndCntr without the IMU with the firmware flashing & you will be relying on the firmware, it has been flashed with advance by the last owner. If all goes well it is harmony & it all works. If you are satisfied, let it be. You are finished. If for any reason you are not satisfied that, later, you want to try to flash the jury, 2.5 CC to uninstall / reinstall, cross your fingers as we all do, simple as that.

Note: turn off automatic updates of CC

the tips here are to not allow an automatic update, for fear of a brick, do not allow

  • Council MIO for Alienware Aurora R4

I have an Alienware Aurora R4 with a case ALX end of 2011 that I need to replace the motherboard.

Will be the motherboard MSI Micro-ATX with a work of processor I7 - 4790K to replace a motherboard case Alienware aurora ALX and maintain my light and fans

Dale Hey, I'm on a lunch break, only have a minute. Some CmndCntr old versions can go on a non-Aurora mthrbrd, other more recent versions cannot. Not easy though.

There are two options because your old mthrbrd cannot be used:

    • Just start in the new mthrbrd with the hard drive, you now who has CmndCntr on this
    • then, uninstall the old software/drivers & install new drivers Z97 etc.
    • That's what we know that re-use of your hard drive / windows install in order to keep CC

Another option: install an older version of CmndCntr as 2.08.09 that installs on any mthrbrd, but could get glitch with W8 and W10. Ok?

If your Aurora mthrbrd have always worked? you wanted to give your new mthrbrd a clean installation of Windows & a newer version of CmndCntr? Well, you install a new mthrbrd, pure install windows etc, then a 3rd option, a last resort is then reinstall your old mthrbrd (work) in your case just long enough to install CmndCntr, take that back, install new MB again and that passing your new MB has a newer version of CC on the hard drive, it could then use :

    • old MB is used to pass the software block that prevents installation on a non-Aurora

All old versions of CmndCntr without a stop block to the 2.08.09 version

    All newer versions which have a block: 2.08.11 / 3.5.x / 3.6.x

If you now 2.08.11 or 3.5 or 3.6 installed hard disk, I guess a last way to keep this most recent version of the CC on your hard drive - still make a clean windows install for your new mthrbrd - is to do the type of installation where windows keeps your latest files and folders and programs etc., this way CC can remain on the disk. I only did this, but it might work.

For someone who had a mthrbrd of work, while he was still in the case, they could install the latest / last / latest versions 1, then remove what he & mthrbrd new install, do the overlay install 7/8, CC to keep the disk hard drive etc... all this makes sense? I'm in a bit of a rush here...

  • Alienware Aurora R4 MIO dashboard light flashing?

I'm not sure of what we call the Board to the right of the motherboard, but I've heard it called the MIO Board? I don't know, but whatever it is, it has a light on it keeps flashing blue. Every second, the blue light flashes and I'm not sure why.

I ran diagnosis yesterday by pressing F12 during the boot and found no problem, but the light continues to blink. I have not noticed something weird going on with the PC but, but I know that this light blinks normally.

I installed a new GPU, the other day, and it is around when this started, so could this be the cause? I don't know what that means or what I should do about it. Here are some pictures just to check what I you talk.

The latter two took less than a second of each other, so you can see that they blink.

Thanks in advance for any help.

No, nothing like that. If you notice any problems, please let us know.

  • Aurora R4 fans operating at 100% after 10 Windows upgrade

After upgrading my Aurora R4 for Windows 10 I suddenly after a week suddenly had problems with my control center and control of fans and lighting.

When I turn on my Alienware fans go to 100% speed and stays there. No control of the fans in the command center, also not able to control them manually.

Tried to reinstall the center of command several times. versions 3.5 and 3.6. Also tried the drain of power between UN-installing and installation. BIOS is A11.

Summer contemplating the purchase of a new Council MIO but reading other messages I do not his failure as it seems that most of the issues related to the fans operating at 100% is related to the Windows upgrade 10. I tried running MIO diagnostic tools, but it will not work through the test.

There is a blue light until then in left corner of the members of the IMU.

My understanding is that the MIO card is connected via a USB port on the motherboard. What is problems with the origin of this problem USB driver?

Does anyone know if Dell is working on a fix for this?

Any help would be much appreciated!

    Thank you

    KO

I have same exact problem on my R4 Aurora just upgraded to Windows 10.  I think it is a bug in the controller of Alienware Dell must fix as soon as possible (but probably will not fix soon, or never).  It is not your MIO Board, because many others have this same problem and I do not think that all these maps MIO just failed at the same time.

I hope that Dell reads these forums because we do need a software fix for this.

You can use a workaround and launch control center and go to the thermal control.  Adjust the fans from automatic to manual at a set speed or use the curve.  Then restart. It should pump fans several times on how to start and stop, but after starting the fans should settle.

Also sleep no longer works on Windows 10 on the R4.  Put the PC to sleep works for a few minutes but he then wakes up and will not fall asleep.  Too bad Dell certified the R4 for windows 10 prematurely.  I would have never improved my Windows 7 Pro I knew all these problems existed.

  • Have I not an Aurora R1?

Hi, first time poster and only a little tech savvy Aurora owner here.

I have an Aurora I bought in March 2010 and has an I7 960 CPU.  I still have the original packing slip, but it just says it's a "Alienware Aurora Desktop".  I found a Wikipedia article that suggests is an R1 or R1 ALX.  I tried to check with Dell, but even if I have the service tag, the person I spoke with could not help me.

So the first question is how can we be sure what model I have?  I don't know how important this is, but I would like to know it.

In the 5 years I've owned the Aurora, it became gradually slower and slower. I was led to believe that reinstalling the operating system can help with that.  I found this post from TESLA1856 on the subject.  http://en.community.Dell.com/Owners-Club/Alienware/f/3746/t/19376654 I also found this Dell Knowledge Base article: www.dell.com/.../en. s = dhs & cs = 19 & l = en

I thought I could try firstly make a recovery instead of a clean install, but I found that my Aurora apparently has no Alien ReSpawn loaded, so I'm back to consider a clean install.

I have not tried ID Council MIO communication cable yet.

I'm a little intimidated by all the warnings of disastrous consequences that may befall me if I do the wrong thing or do something in the right order, but I think I can get through.

I had not heard of Acronis and I will consider it.

Thanks in advance for any help.

I have an Aurora I bought in March 2010 and has an I7 960 CPU.

He must then Aurora R1 (with Intel x 58 chipset). Model alx improved if there mobile louvers on top and additional lights.

AlienRespawn called Dell DataSafeLocal at the time, but it is not reliable and won't bring back if the hardware is changed. Clean-install is preferable. This is in itself will be speed it up a bit (if you ever did in 3-4 years).

Last update for this machine is probably an SSD. You want speed, you take a little longer and you are probably looking to a new installation of Windows anyway. Make the existing mill to drive a "data disc" after that you get everything out of him.

Good SSD will machine more quickly than ever.

  • Replace a motherboard of an Aurora R3 with a card mother Aurora R4?

Essentially that the. Can I order a motherboard that has been used in a R4 and put it in my R3? The CPU cooler will work on both? I have a ti new 780gtx in my R3. Most of the things work very well, but from time to time it will reboot. I read it could be the power supply, or it could be the lack of support from the UEFI Bios on the old mothers R3 OEM. Thought to cover all the bases and move the two out.

I was counting on getting a dedicated power supply Bay of Booster X 5, but I can't find them anywhere. Out of Stock.

If anyone has any experience with this or knows if they make these power supply BoosterX5 Fps, I would be grateful of your.

    However, all knowledge is welcome.

Just a quick, I replaced my MB, CPU and RAM on my R3 last week and I had no problem.

I have a MSI Z97M Gaming (micro ATX) and all lights and control center work. I had to change the cooling system, because I wasn't able to fix on the MB, but the rest of the installation was really easy... and the work of Council MIO perfectly.

I think it is there is a lot of buzz around permutation MB and Alienware system update, but it is not complicated and complex... and lights still work!

  • Rotary decoder in real-time and 'pulse shifter '.

    Hello world

I'm putting in place a rotating decoder for use as a shifter of pulsation by labview real-time.

Basically, this means I have two input channels (ttl-legumes, ~ high 20us) rotary engine. A channel contains a pulse at each CA (angle cranc) ° up to 12 kHz (increment). The other channel contains a pulse every 720 ° CA (the charge cycle, BDC_cc low break-even point). With this information a pulse to be generated on an output also channel ttl (high), which triggers my setup of measurement. This impulse must be moved in a programmable relationship to the entrance of BDC_cc, which aims at a table of regular measure.

I got it running by streaming the channel of BDC_cc until a rising edge is detected, then count the edges of increment to the designated trigger point and then generate a pulse on the output channel. The problem is that the late 70-120us exit trigger. In short it's too; a maximum error of ~ 20 is acceptable. Digital channels appear to work faster, so I put discarded Counter-based acquisition.

I'm quite new to LabView, so I'm sorry if the answer is obvious...

    My purchase setup consists of:

    PCI-MIO-16-1

    BNC-2120

    LabView 12.0
    Max 5.3.1f0

    Widows XP

This configuration seems to exclude some options Labview offer, such as the external digital acquisition sampled or externally triggered by the acquisition in the base. A manual interpretation of analog inputs is way to slow.

I have attached my working version.

    Any input appreciated woud...

    John,

I only have a minute right now, but think I can play with a device simulated tonight or tomorrow.

I'm quite sure that there would be a clean solution clocked by material if you use a series M or X-series

Council MIO, but the older generation counters timers on the set of the E series do support everything which

You need.  It's been a while since I had to rely on this generation of hardware.

I think the basic approach is to use the lunatics of angle as the clock pulse train that defines the

delay time of the pulse you want to generate.   You could be "Timer" the pulse based on the real

angular position, helping you synchronize to a specific angle of crank.  The question is whether and how E-series

counters of takes to support the generation of pulses triggered (or redeclenchables).  If they are not, I would say that you consider

get new hardware DAQ which support this kind of trigger and you give a very precise pulse

    implementation.

  • 3rd party motherboard for Aurora R4 w / I7 - 3930K

I posted a bad update of the BIOS on my R4 Aurora that caused the motherboard at the STATION even there not...

After frustration several hours hold it with Dell support today, the consensus (if you can tell, because I continued to get numbers of different reference told me), is that they have motherboards replacement in stock to sell to me. As such, I'm looking aftermarket. This is Aurora-R4 bought in 2012 with Windows 7 and the processor I7 - 3930K. Not knowing much about card Alienware custom box or other potential problems, anyone has any advice for a 3rd reliable motherboard of party that would allow me to replace the bricked with a minimum of pain and suffering?

new & used r4 cards mothers on eBay all day long. # In the United States include:

    • FPV4P
    • 7JNH0 (revision 2)
    • 8FMMC (possible manufacturer, see two above 1)

form factor of your Commission ('size') is called a mini ATX / micro ATX or Μatx

    • Μatx Form Factor 9.6 inches x 9.6 inches (24.4 cm x 24.4 cm)
    • Socket lga 2011 / x 79 Intel Chipset

MSI, Asus, AsRock, Gigabyte are brands; There could be 4 or 5 planks worthy to choose, I like the Asus Rampage Gene IV Μatx / 2011, it looks better, but I have an AsRock eXtreme4-M here, that's good advice, but I have not installed yet, holding back. You shop by features, looks, reviews, price, watch for "dual bios" 'bios accident', uefi...

Pick up a mthrbrd r4 of eBay is my advice, but in the meantime, you can check online 2011/Μatx customer, see what your choice is, look for a list of best of - see what think about reviwers major online are the best advice... good luck

Your manufacturer is on your motherboard on a sticker in two places (photo). 7JNHO has a sticker called a review, perhaps a more recent Council. It is possible, that a replacement mthrbrd cannot have a 8.1 Windows product key in the bios, unless someone wishes to correct that statement for me.

reference to A02 (two review, possibly) is present twice on this picture, but not on average photo...

  • Desperate: What is the speed of a simultaneous acquisition of data NO? (PCI-MIO-16-1 (6070E))

I am struggling to understand how fast, I should be able to run my PCI-MIO-16-1 (6070E). The card is valued at 1.25MS / s. I understood that run several channels divided it. I'm perfectly fine with that. Specifically, I need 2 channels clocked at 625KHz, each, this card should be perfect. However, in practice (using MAX or SignalExpress), can't the card to run faster than about half that speed. In other words, I can take 2 channels at 315KHz. If I go on that, I get a 'strange' behavior, including a machine so overloaded and lazy that I have a hard time to kill the process. If I go directly to the maximum speed, I just get an error about the ADC does not complete on time.

I've been more present here: http://forums.ni.com/ni/board/message?board.id=250&thread.id=52447, but I had marked this thread as resolved. Indeed, this Council has me full speed running on a single channel, and it's a thing of beauty. However, I hit a different limit, so I'm trying a new thread.

This seems to be a very simple question: what should be the theoretical maximum speed be on this map, once I have start trying to take more than one channel? Am I restricted to less than a total of 1.25MS / s due to the action of switching of the CDA that she questions the channels? I can't get 1.25MS / s single channel? I'd be able to do 2 625KS/s channels, or that I'm wasting time because the card does not have a simultaneous sampling? If I can't spin the full flow I think I should get, I must have a different card and move. I don't know if I'm wrong, or hit a hardware limitation that I don't know.

    Thanks for reading!

  • Recent update BIOS maybe bricking M93p tiny systems?

We just applied this update of the BIOS (http://support.lenovo.com/en_US/downloads/detail.page?DocID=DS035753) on 4 tiny M93p machines.

1 the engine is lifting a cursor flashing at startup (brick)?

3 machines can no longer start on the hard drive.

In the 3 machines that do not see the hard drive to start, they sometimes show in the boot order in the BIOS, but when you try to include them in the boot order that they disappear.

Hard drives are a recently Windows 7 64-bit image that worked before the BIOS update.

If we network boot in PE, we can see the contents of the hard drive.

Called Lenovo support but I got bounced around... any one see any problem like this?

After playing with the main boot order long enough and try different things, I have all 3 machines that were not recognize hard drive at startup to boot in Windows. I got one to Wake-On-Lan, but it does not work on another. Then the other came on the rise after long enough.

One 4th I called Lenovo and I meet replaced Council.

So do the updates of tiny BIOS at your own risk!

  • New/old Boot Up loud fan issue Aurora R4

An old question that I didn't for a while is back for me.  Immediately at startup, my Office fans are blowing up like a Jet engine.  I was able to go in the Alienware command center and set it manual 40% and which works, but that does not take effect until near the end of the shoe top.

The last time that this happened, it was a dell service that I had to disable, but it's been like 3 years so I don't remember what it was.  I ran starting diagnosis, epsa, and everything came back fine.  I uninstalled the Dell connect printer manager and other related services.  I unplugged and made a static drain with the power button.   Don't know what else to do.

The only new thing that was installed last week were new NVidia drivers, but that was 4 days ago.

Appreciate all the help if someone has a solution.  I've read several very old discussions saying to uninstall and reinstall the control center, but I can't find one that says he's working with Alienware Aurora R4 running Windows 10.

You wanted to post once more on this. I had this problem, for me, this morning.

    (1) use Revo to uninstall control center

    (2) Made that I had downloaded the new command Center 3.6 above by Alex

    (3) stop

    (4) disconnected my mio map usb

    (5) power drained the system for 60 seconds

    (6) reconnected mio usb

    (7) system rebooted

    (8) went to start > Services and right clicked on the monitoring Services and set it to automatic and started it

    (8) click on the extractor of command center, DO NOT RUN the update of motor racing.  Just extract the files

    (9) go to where you have extracted the files and run setup.exe as administrator (right click and run as admin)

    (10) reset

    (11) fixed fans question

I found a lot of this on different positions on the internet and I have no idea that you actually fixed my problem.  Therefore, I have all.  Some may be a waste of time, but hey, one or more of them fixed my issue :)
