(Redirected) Alienware R4 Power Bypass button?

If the plastic power button silver gradually broken literally cost 2 days after the expiration of the warranty. Initially I wasn't too worried that I could always power using the small black button located under. In some ways and I honestly have no idea how because the system does not move and sits on a desk, but suddenly the little black button disappeared. What see you when you search the hole are two contacts. I managed on the basis of fish out the black button, the disc of copper connector and rubber seat, but there is no way, he'll be back in. I tried for hours and hours.

I called technical support, all I wanted was a schematic of the MOBO if I can find the pins to start my computer. I'm not "enter into a long history here because overall, it's irrelevant. But I will say that after 20 minutes with Tech #1, he sent me a PDF of the manual which is not a schematic representation of the MOBO, then it suggests that I'm getting a new chassis... what?

A new chassis, are you kidding me? On the outside I could (and it is a great power) need a new front Assembly of I/O. At that time, I asked for one and L2 or supervisor. I got a supervisor and asked this question several different ways, that we do not have anywhere. They do not have this information. I also discovered that the nearest location to get the fixed system is hours away.

If anyone, if you can please help me, I am in desperate need of power of this system to get something on my main drive.

Reference Dell MOBO # is C5D9P

I have upgraded to Windows 10 in October 2015 and everything worked very well until about two weeks ago, I noticed that when I would stop my computer Power and buttons f6 would remain lit.  I would go ahead and close the lid of my but next time I would go to to open they would always be lit.  I have to press on and hold the Power button until the lights go out.

    Hello

Try disabling the startup of Windows 10 hybrid - you can do the following.

Open settings and select System.  Select food and sleep, and then click additional power settings - in the next window, click on "Choose what the power button" in the left pane.

In the next window, click on "Change settings that are currently unavailable" (close), then Remove the check mark from the box against 'Turn on a quick start (recommended) '.  Click on the button Save the settings, and then close open windows and stop the laptop by right clicking on the icon from the Start Menu, select prompt (Admin) and click 'Yes' to the uac prompt.

Type (or copy and paste) the following command (including spaces) and click Enter.

    Shutdown /s /t 0

Start Notepad and let Windows take over completely for a few minutes before checking if the lights now now disable to stop correctly.

If this has fixed the problem, it may be useful by turning the quick start back on - sometimes simply remove and re-create the file will solve the problem.

    Thank you

    Hello

    1. what happens when you start the laptop, you receive no error message?

2 have you made any changes to the computer before the show?

I suggest to remove the battery and connect the laptop to AC power and then try to start the computer to see if the problem is with the battery.

I suggest you to contact Dell support on the issue, as this can be a hardware problem.

  • (Redirected) AlienWare X 51 R2 - perhaps a power failure?

So I got my AlienWare X 51 R2 for 1 year and about 20 days. I came home 2 days ago to find it was off, but there was a very low light on my power button, no other lights. I tried to turn on and the computer (Yes, fan and light included) enabled for everything as long as it took for me to release the power button. I've tried everything. I don't know yet if it is the right place to post this but I hope. I tried my surge protector to jump and goes directly into my outlet, using another outlet in another room, unplugging everything and hold the power button to get rid of all of rest, power everything. My adapter, I call it a brick, has its power switch on, but my computer has only the power dim light. The light at the back which lights up blue, if it has power only when I turn it on for a split second when I try to turn it on. My computer has a virus and has been completely analyzed nightly at 02:00 by Microsoft Security Essentials. I played games like Guild Wars 2, World of Warcraft, StarCraft 2, and ArcheAge. ArcheAge was the last and only game I played for about 2 months before he died. The computer was great, never overheated and ran easily all my games without problem. I am at a total loss. It was also no lightning because we did not have any all week. All possible suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

  • (Redirected) Alienware is unresponsive and the power seems to fade in and out

I have an Alienware Aurora R3 of 2012 desktop computer running the updated Windows 7 which will randomly have issues (sometimes after 2 hours, sometimes after 5 minutes) where the keyboard and mouse stop working (although light on the keyboard remains lit, the light on the fades of the mouse in and out) , and I can hear one of the fans in the computer running upward and slowing down repeatedly.  The Alienhead also of the cycles of its normal color to yellow, then rehearsals, in sync with the fan turns at the top and bottom.  The computer does not seem to stay active with programs still running.

I tried to replace the power supply with a different dell power supply (exact same model) and after a few hours, the problem started again.

I blew all the dust out of the computer twice with no success.

I would appreciate any suggestions and help.  Thank you!

  • (Redirected) Alienware 51 2013 x (R1?) case transfer & upgrade gpu/power supply possible

OK, so I bought an Alienware x 51 back in 2013 with these specs:

    I7 3770 3.4 Ghz
    GTX 660
    16 GB ram ddr3
1 TB of HDD (917 GB actual)
Optical drive (don't know much talk of it)
Mobo: Manufacturer: Alienware, product: 06G6JW, Version: A01

    Here's the plan:
I decided to take the elements and moving them to a new case, give em a new PSU, possibly upgrading of the gpu. Then (later on the road), when I have enough dough bad replace the components outside the case itself. In addition, my current budget for this upgrade/transplant is about 300 ca $

The parts I have in mind: (Note: I am in the Canada, and I'm a newb to pc hardware )
    New case: NZXT Source 530 ( http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E1681... )
New cpu cooler: Cooler Master Hyper 212 Plus ( http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E1683... )
    New PSU: CORSAIR CX - M series CX450 450W Semi modular PSU ( http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E1681... )
Case fans: Cooler Master channel with the 120mm (set of 4) ( http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E1683... )

    Questions:
    1. What are good choices? I love the case, but I'm not sure of the quality of the PSU. Think about the other items were mostly positive.
2 - What is the highest level of the GPU that would work with this Mobo is worth getting?
    3. are there major problems with this plan?
    4. I think adding a second hard drive or ssd, I can do this at a later date, but what would you recommend? (<>

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

  • No Admin Page and power Reset button do not work.

I use a Readynas R104 with 6.4.2 firmware. The last 2 days, the administration page refuses to appear from a web browser, and when you try to restart via the power button, nothing happens (no information on the front panel display, when pushed power button / stop). Actions are always accessible from Windows Explorer, and I can still read and write to the actions. The first time this happened, I shot the seizure of power to restart/reboot, but don't want to continue to do that for fear of screwing up the system. Has anyone had this problem with 6.4.2 and if yes, how bypass it without risking a coercive power shut down for reboot?

Problem seems to have disappeared, stable performance for a few days.

  • (Redirected) Alienware M17x R4: Windows7 not detecting SATA DVD/CD internal optical drive, game dvd stuck inside.

Hello, I need help here because I can't really understand what causes the problem.

I inserted a BioShock 2 legit installation DVD, and my CD/DVD drive does not detect. I tried to take the drive by pressing the eject ODD button, but nothing happened.

Under 'My Computer' my drive does not appear.

In Device Manager, it does not show any CD/DVD player either.

    Control of my computer

I took a lot of steps trying to find out what is happening, and I thought it was a problem of software based.

Ran the Dell diagnostics, Fix It, started and checked in safe mode and pretty much everything what they advised me to do in the guides.

One step, I am committed not, where do I look for the registry subkey 'HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Class\ {4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}' and change the filters upper and/or lower, because there is no filters to change.

    Photo of my registry editor

The last step, I got added the following subkey to atapi in regedit.

When you pull up my laptop, I hear my work in the car. During the ejection of pressing, looks like she is about to eject the disc, but nothing has yet come out.

The CD/DVD drive is recognized in the BIOS but does not appear in my device manager. It becomes clear to power. In the BIOS, it mentions "SATA ODD MATSHITARV11 Downloader". It is also displayed in Intel RST.

I don't have that a single HARD drive on my laptop, and in my BIOS my SATA operations are on RAID. It would make a difference if I switch to AHCI? Could it be a loose connector causing this problem of detection for my OS? If so, isn't weird that my BIOS is always detect? I am able to boot from the CD/DVD, but when I do just start of my storage drive as he always does.

    Any ideas?

  • (Redirected) Alienware x 51 r2 problem.

Hey everyone will so in the title I'm having some problems with my x 51 r2, I had no problem for over 3 years now.

Going where it started, playing games to turn off completely.

I will try and keep it short, I opened my case press the power button / fans spun for a second then turns off but the power light stayed on. I took out the graphics card and now it keeps cycling between sub and turned off guard until I draw from the power of it. And plug the card in it goes back to just the power on light.

So I wonder is this the power supply itself? The map supply or have I managed to kill my graphics card but yes I am open to all thoughts about what I have to do.

  • (Redirected) Alienware Area 51 R2

I recently bought an Alienware Area 51 r2. Its been works like a charm, until recently. I have about 4 months and recently he shot himself. I push the power button to turn it off, and it turns on. Sometimes it's instantly, sometimes it's a few hours later. There is no model really. Is there a way to check it and see why it is light on its own?

  • (Redirected) Alienware X 51 several problems with beep

I bought my Alienware x 51 in early 2012 and had no problems with it until recently. At first he just started with screen random freezing while playing games would be so UN - gel and everything would be fine, that continued to occur for about 2 weeks and then the computer would just stop responding and I would have to manually turn off (power button). This happened 2 - 3 times and then after the last time my computer beep 2 times, I knew then meant that RAM was not detected, so I bought new RAM and installed it. He then coming a black screen that told me that I had to use my Windows 7 Home Premium, reinstall the disc and repair my system, I did and now it came to beep 5 times in succession, after I Googled it means real time clock failure, but I haven't used the built-in HDMI port I have never even used a HDMI cord on this system. These problems have exhausted just me and I'm really tired of trying to deal with it, so I thought I'd post here and see if everything has no idea as to what is happening.

    Thanks in advance,

  • (Redirected) Alienware Area 51 locksup at startup

I bought an Area 51 in April and to in a month or two, he begins to block on the loading screen. When you press the power button, it goes screen Alienware and points to gel down and the computer wont do anything else. I waited 20 minutes and nothing. I have to hold the power button and wait until it turn off, and then try again. Tonight it's 5 times in a row so I came here. I paid for the premium support / Premium phone support and care full but for some wonderful reason when I click on technical support, it is said that she is not included and he gives me a number to call to pay the tech support by phone. Before I try this, I thought I'd come here and get answers as to why this is happening. Thank you

  • (Redirected) Alienware Aurora R4 help

My Aurora was bought in 2013, I have no guarantee, I need at least to know if anyone has had or knows what this problem is. I left my computer on at night, I did several times and never had any problems, but this time I was awakened by the high-speed rotating fans. Tired I simply cut off the computer. I wake up the next morning and whenever I try to put on the fan runs at full speed and nothing happens, monitor, keyboard, mouse, nothing. So I unplug the drill rig, hold the power button to do the thing, sorry I forgot what it's called. This time he lights up for a split second then turns off. I know that's not the power supply cause I tested it. I tried to do the reset cmos and nothing thing. Someone please before considering anyone I would at least like to know what the problem is. Thanks in advance.

  • (Redirected) Alienware x 51 R2 does not not to ANY USB

So, I had a problem recently where only a few select USB devices would actually in my 51 x, these are:

    • The default keyboard and mouse came with the computer
    • Microsoft Lifecam webcam
    • Headset USB venom

And I have devices that would work at all for some reason any:

    • Ice blue microphone snowball
    • Portable hard drive Samsung M3
    • A lesser brand games controller
    • X12Headset Lautsprecher

I turned to a mess of aid, one being the @AlienwareTech support twitter, they advised me to go into the Device Manager and delete all devices under "universal serial bus controllers" heading other than the intel ones, so I started to do this, starting at the bottom that says "usb root hub" which I assumed would be nice as I've told everything apart from the stuff intel uninstall, then restart my system.

As soon as I uninstalled it all my devices no longer works, so I used the power button and pressed once to shut down my computer and then restarted, still, nothing works, no keyboard, I can't connect even on my device.

    What should I do?
