(Redirected) Dell Alienware Area 51 new model

I bought a dell alienware are 51 desktop PC I just deliver on Friday.  I would like to add another 980 Nvidia gtx card to that, but the SLI bridge comes in 3 different sizes, short, medium and long.  What I want to know is which bridge of size I need.  I can't find an image of hard drive so I don't know if pci express ports side by side or y at - it a regular PCI between them.

  • Alienware Area 51 Tri SLI HELP

So, I recently bought a Dell Alienware Area 51 with graphics cards from NVIDIA SLI 980 4 GB DDR5. I want to buy a 3rd 980 now directly from Dell. They don't tell me no problem but they don't sell Tri SLI bridges? It makes no sense at all? You are selling computers game, but if we want to add a video card you do not sell the bridge for her? I know that dell has them because you can set up a computer with them, with 3 graphics cards requiring this bridge. If they do not sell this bridge then I give them $600.00 for another purchase of the card. Makes no sense...

I contacted Dell spare parts to the 1-800-289-3355 service. I could order the Tri SLI Bridge part # GYN70 (Assembly, graphics card, NV, bridge, Tri-State for $139.99). I also contacted a Support technique Alienware (not Dell) and after explaining my situation, they sent the cables needed to connect the extra GPU to supply free of charge. I hope this helps.

Hello, I recently bought a new Alienware Area 51 R2, currently I have a 128 GB SSD main + 2 TB storage config. I want to add an other SSD, capable of 256 GB. I want to start my games from there.

My Question is, what would be the best solution for my needs? I see so many types of SSD out there and have little knowledge about the benefits and disadvantages of each.

  • (Redirected) Alienware Area 51 R2

I recently bought an Alienware Area 51 r2. Its been works like a charm, until recently. I have about 4 months and recently he shot himself. I push the power button to turn it off, and it turns on. Sometimes it's instantly, sometimes it's a few hours later. There is no model really. Is there a way to check it and see why it is light on its own?

  • (Redirected) Speakers with an Alienware Area 51

I had crazy computer problems lately. A few friends put in place a computer for me and there were a lot of problems that I won't detail here, but it culminated with the motherboard is fried when I plugged in the speakers.  I finally gave up with home-built computer and ordered an Alienware Area 51 with a 1500w power supply. However, I am relics afraid to connect the speakers for fear of frying another card mother, though everyone tells me that what has happened is a stroke of luck and the other motherboard was faulty.  Right now I use a computer + 7 years, I had in the closet and the speakers work fine with it, and they also worked in my old computer, which was also an Alienware. My question is, is it possible that the speakers might be 'too powerful' or 'too high a power' to work on the computer that is on the right track? The speakers say they are 120-240 v, but I don't know how powerful they are. My future computer has a 1500w PSU and two GTX 970 graphics cards, but it seems that there should be a lot of power for speakers. Am I paranoid? Has anyone had the motherboard is fried by plugging in speakers?

  • How to reinstall a Windows 8 dell alienware aurora r4 to factory settings?

A friend of mine had his PC scammed (guy calls, said you that they are Microsoft and you are infected, enter your PC and then you lock out and ask $ money to let you back in).

Anyway, he has a PC Dell Alienware Aurora R4 (comes with) running Windows 8 or 8.1 - I don't know but I know that he has not improved/changed anything. The system came with a DVD resource (nothing else).

Now all we want to do is to restore factory default, there is nothing about this of any importance to save...

I looked on the internet and found what looks like the right solution:

-Enter advanced service options (holding shift at the start), select "troubleshooting."
    > "Icon Dell Backup and Recovery" is missing (how could it be?

    Without that, I'm totally stuck...
    Any suggestions? Recommendations? Ideas?

    Thank you

After that a clean installation of Windows and the drivers of Dell system, Dell backup and restoration facility will create a new recovery partition of your own installation that you can restore as new factory settings.

  • Profile of Alienware Area - 51 ALX Intel XMP A10 does not work with DDR3 1600 MHz

I bought three Kingston 8 GB RAM DDR3 1600 MHz 240 pin DIMM that totals up to 24 GB of RAM and install in my desktop computer. When I turned on and the message appeared saying:

Maternal health and infant is running with DDR3 - 1333 MHz

WARNING! Previous overclocking failed, and system restore its default value. Press F1 to continue, F2 to enter Setup Menu

When I access the BIOS setting (version A10), I disabled XMP and then it went through fine after the reboot. However, I have to have XMP allow at any time? How can configure profile 1333 MHz to 1600 MHz XMP?

What bothers me is that I had three former PIN of Kingston 4 GB RAM DDR3 1600 MHz 240 DIMM which total up to 12 GB of RAM and the XMP worked very well with them before they were 1600 MHz.

The type of computer I have is:

    Alienware Area-51 ALX

    Intel Core i7 980 Extreme 6 c with 12 MB of Cache

    Windows 7 Ultimate

Please, help me to solve this problem. Thank you.

    See this:

    http://en.community.Dell.com/Owners-Club/Alienware/f/3746/p/19471694/20209913.aspx#20209913

And I certainly don't have the answer, but I'll remember these points:

    1. I think that you can set manually nothing XMP adjustable (but with more control).

2 machines often memory need to be slowed down when you are near maximum capacity look maintenance manuals.

3 area-51 has never been tested or even allow the 8 GB DIMMs. You are in the new territories.

    4. If you really need 24 GB (and it works at 1333) then the 267 speed drop is insignificant.

  • Dell XPS 8500 needs new motherboard; All recoverable parts?

Okay, it looks like my Dell XPS 8500 which is only 2.3 years needs a new motherboard.  I was quoted $350 to fix it (90 day warranty) by Dell.  I asked Dell how much it would cost to return the warranty once I fixed it and it is $ 200 per year.  Not sure I'll go along with this.  A local technician gave me his estimate and it's $250 parts and service which includes 90 day warranty.

Rather than take the option repair, I think to recover the coins for my next computer purchase.  My XPS 8500 has 12 GB ddr3 sdram [1, 600 mhz (2 gb x 2) + (4 x 2 GB)] and a 2 TB hard drive and the hard disk of 1 TB (from 8000 of my XPS Studio who died after 2.5 years).  All other recoverable parts here?

All models Dell that are compatible with the latter?  8000/8500 are no longer sold.  Dell sells XPS 8900 8900 SE using DDR4 Rams.  I don't know the compatibility of the hard drive.  Dell Outlet still sells XPS 8700 expandable up to 10 windows, which uses ddr3 chips and is is compatible with the hard disk probably.

Should not be XPS.  Actually, I prefer not to buy another XPS because I had this terrible luck with them.  I think maybe like OptiPlex business models which can have options of compatible extension of hard drive and RAM.  Anyone direct me to the configurations of these models?  Thank you.

Some confusion here. There is none of these models as Studio XPS 8500. Amazon is the inscription incorrectly. There's a XPS 8500.
The 8500 XPS and Vostro 470 use same motherboards =.
    XT4TM = card mother NW73C, DPK for Windows 7
TXKR9 = card mother NW73C, DPK for Windows 8 home
CTJCD = card mother NW73C, DPK for Windows 8 Pro

  • U.S. Alienware area 51: contemporary art / power supply Australia

My father sent me a new one never open alienware area 51 alienware.com. He's in California. I'm in Australia. I don't want to blow something upward in reconnecting him when he arrives here. Can what specific food I get? I don't want to buy one just to find doeant made. I know that the base line, one is 800w. It is very good for my setup at the moment. Any adjustment or is there a way I can buy the same as that which is used in the Tower alienware Dell but the aussie version? Or do I still need a new power supply? Will it work if I buy just a transformer and an adaptor dick smith?

    Thank you

That the power supply will work, the more you might need to change is the power cable, or you can get an adapter.

As you can see on the site of Alienware of Australia sell us this system with the PS to 850w.

  • Alienware Area 51 R2 (end of 2014) ejection of the optical disc drive does not

New Alienware Area 51 R2 (end of 2014) happened the month last in January 2015. Not tried any DVD or Blue-ray until yesterday. The optical drive eject button does not work in windows pro 8.1, but soft eject works in click with the right button on the drive and select "eject". The button works also before starting Windows start. I invited it must be a software problem and could be fixed by updating some drivers. But I googled a lot and can't find solutions for other Alienware models, but not for the Office of area 51 R2.

Bluetooth also does not work, but fixed with a new driver from Intel.

Install the driver from the disk...

  • Asus Rampage Extreme on Alienware Area 51 v

I want to buy a motherboard Asus Rampage V extreme, the question is, can the motherboard fit in Alienware Area 51? because V of Rampage Extreme is E - ATX.

your stock mthrbrd is set on a mthrbrd platter (tempan), brand new mthrbrd will have to fixed tray to even, holes (spacers) will have to align. No matter what tray spreaders who don't align must not be isolated. "By the look of it, you would lose your black cable Organizer, should be two new holes in the status bar, moved more 1.1" etc. (industrial velcro, so no access to a forest of w/metal as a temporary solution). Your best bet is to buy your new MB from a source who will accept returns, in which case e - atx is unable to mate with your bin to mthrbrd, or available wall space.

you need to find an e - atx vs atx Visual model that shows the mounting screws/holes, see if they line up basically. My Nzxt Phantom 820 is a ultra-tour, larger than Area51, he accepts e - atx & xl - atx, but I have to take my mthrbrd to see if the holes match my Asus atx Board in there, I'm sorry, I can't help with this answer, if the holes match; from memory, they do well (?). Keep looking online for a visual aspect to mounting e - atx atx vs relative to each other, you can even make a comparison from the view of atx Asus and cards cards e - atx looking for mounting holes - for me, it seems that the holes of the Rampage corresponding atx & Council simply "straddles" a thumb

Council e - atx mount holes need to coincide w/tempan; those who do not need to be isolated from the MB. Where the edge of this stock mthrbrd dies at the level of the external right screw holes, Rampage just seems to scoot an inch more. Cable organizer needs came up, moved to the right an inch.
